In the Past it was Enough to have a Beehive on the Roof to be Considered Green : How Means of Control from The EU Directive on The Energy Performance of Buildings Affect Actors in The Swedish Real Estate IndustryOhlin, Michael, Söderberg, Gustav January 2024 (has links)
I första hand vilka styrmedel direktivet innehåller. / The world is facing a climate crisis which requires immediate action. Buildings are Europe's largest energy consumers and account for over 30% of greenhouse gas emissions. To address this, the EU has introduced the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), which is set for official publication in the near future. The directive includes a range of guidelines on energy performance levels, economic incentives, and solar energy development that member states will need to adapt to. Government regulation is not new to the real estate industry, but the EPBD is the most comprehensive regulation the sector has ever received from the EU. This study aims to clarify what the EPBD will mean for Swedish real estate companies and their stakeholders. Primarily, it examines what means of control the directive entails. Secondly, it assesses the extent to which real estate companies will need to adjust to these means of control and their opinions on the directive. Additionally, the study investigates previous regulatory measures similar to the EPBD to identify similarities or differences and evaluate their effectiveness in practice. Interviews with real estate companies and related stakeholders are conducted to answer the research questions. It is concluded that parts of the directive may be considered weak, as real estate companies often have more ambitious internal goals than those set by the EPBD. Consensus was however that the directive is welcomed by the industry, and despite its weaknesses, elements such as harmonization of energy performance certificates and minimum standards are deemed beneficial for the sector.

Processing Real-Time Telemetry with Multiple Embedded ProcessorsBenDor, Jonathan, Baker, J. D. 10 1900 (has links)
International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 17-20, 1994 / Town & Country Hotel and Conference Center, San Diego, California / This paper describes a system in which multiple embedded processors are used for real-time processing of telemetry streams from satellites and radars. Embedded EPC-5 modules are plugged into VME slots in a Loral System 550. Telemetry streams are acquired and decommutated by the System 550, and selected parameters are packetized and appended to a mailbox which resides in VME memory. A Windows-based program continuously fetches packets from the mailbox, processes the data, writes to log files, displays processing results on screen, and sends messages via a modem connected to a serial port.

Standardy modelování a řízení podnikových procesů / Business Process Modeling StandardsKlička, Lukáš January 2010 (has links)
Business process modeling plays an important role for the documentation and analysis of organizational processes and for the specification of requirements for information systems. Currently, there are many standards for process modeling, and each represents a different approach to modeling and provides different opportunities for creating models. Thus, same models created in different modeling languages differ in terms of their expressiveness, according to each standard. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness of selected business process modeling standards. The effectiveness of standards will be evaluated on two levels. First, in terms of their semantics and second, in terms of their syntax. Evaluation of standards in terms of their semantics will be based on the comparison of standards with a business process metamodel created within the project Opensoul. This model defines a set of basic elements and their associations at a basic level of process modeling. Evaluation of standards in terms of their syntax will be based on the comparison of standards with a framework proposed by Moody and Hillegersberg. The results of this comparison should show which standard best supports defined criteria. The evaluation framework will be applied on the following process modeling standards: BPMN, EPC and IDEF3. Based on the results obtained their strength and weaknesses will be discussed. The main contribution of this thesis can be seen both in the analysis of the element set of selected process modeling standards and further in the comparison of standards according to the evaluation framework.

struggles for twenty years for habitation and dignified life in the city. This struggle builds
other forms of hegemonic sociability. The hegemonic relations are founded on the
commodification of every realm of life. It is in the relationship between goods that the
universalization of reified social relations and commodity fetishism happens: when goods
acquire a life status and life itself becomes a mere object. Through this naturalization process,
domination is universalized as hegemony and does not limit itself to direct coercion, but also
determines a cultural direction and helps consolidate social consensus between dominant and
dominated classes. With the restructuring of capital, information and communication
technologies (ICTs) have a central role in affirming hegemony. Communication studies
centered around the political economy of communications (Economia Política da
Comunicação- EPC) are crucial in this process, as they help understand the role of mediation
in the cultural industry and, from there, understand if a counter-hegemonic type of mediation
process is possible, one that understands how the working class - specifically in the case of
MTST - finds ways to resist and comes to terms with their understanding of the world. This
work uses bibliography review - from the perspective of the urban political economy and
approaches to concepts and categories like differential income, right to the city, urbanization -
and urban ethnography methodology to the fieldwork applied to the workers of the MTST
camps in Sao Paulo. This work also comprehends that MTST through their spatial actions of
occupation and organization, creates a counter-hegemonic process that proposes a new
mediation that, combined with a social appropriation of ICTs, optimizes popular
communication.

Evaluation par imagerie isotopique des effets bénéfiques de progéniteurs endothéliaux circulants dans un modèle rongeur d'ischémie cérébrale focale transitoire / Evaluation by isotopic imaging of beneficial effects of endothelial progenitor cells in a rodent model of focal cerebral ischemiaGarrigue, Philippe 13 June 2016 (has links)
Stroke represents a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in industrialized countries and prevalence steadily increases. For now, no other therapy that intravenous thrombolysis is validated, still, less than 10% of patients are eligible. The first preclinical regenerative therapy trials using endothelial progenitor cells engraftment gave evidence of their efficacy on functional recovery, although very few cells reached the site of injury to exert their effects are. Previous works showed that erythropoietin (EPO) increased mobilization and proliferation of endothelial progenitor cells from bone marrow, as well as their homing to the ischemic sites in vivo.We hypothesized that EPO could enable true endothelial progenitor cells (ECFCs) to reach the ischemic site in larger quantity, faster, to exercise a greater effect. We decided to evaluate three optimization strategies: coadministration of ECFCs and EPO, administration of EPO-pretreated ECFCs, and finally coadministration of ECFCs and an EPO derivative devoid of hematopoietic effect. In this work, we used μSPECT/CT imaging to quantify the ECFCs homing to the ischemic site with or without EPO optimization after cerebral ischemia, and longitudinally assessed their beneficial effects on blood-brain barrier disruption, cerebral apoptosis and residual cerebral blood flow, complementary to the referent techniques and neurofunctional clinical evaluation.

Hodnocení nástrojů pro procesní modelování / Evaluation of tools for process modelingEngeová, Andrea January 2017 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the modeling and evaluation tools that are used for process modeling. The aim is to provide a method of selecting the most appropriate tool for selected requirements. This goal is achieved by using several subgoals, which include tools analysis for process modeling, design criteria for the selection of tools, their weights calculation, design and construction method for selecting tools in Excel and create case studies that will demonstrate the principles of selection tools. At the beginning of the thesis is characterized by the area of process management, its history, actual trends and definitions related thereto. Another chapter is a description of notations that are used for modeling processes. The largest part of the chapter is devoted to the characteristics Notation Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), which together with their graphic design described all the elements of notation. The remaining part of the chapter describes the notation event-driven process chain (EPC) and the Unified Modeling Language (UML). A description of tools for process modeling is dedicated to the fifth chapter includes a detailed characterization of each instrument. Based on the individual tools and literary sources, the next chapter in the proposed criteria by which the tools will be evaluated. For calculating the weights of the proposed criteria is used Fuller method. The chapter concludes with evaluation tools previously described and a description of how to select the creation tools in Excel. The work ends with case studies which serve to illustrate the procedure for selecting tools.

Optimalizace firemních procesů v prostředí integrovaného informačního systému a eshopu / Business processes reengineering in an integrated information system and the e-commerce applicationPenkala, Jan January 2009 (has links)
Master thesis called "Business processes reengineering in an integrated information system and the e-commerce application" proves the hypothesis that the key to successful internet business is to have correctly set the process management of a company, which, through an automated connection, displayed externally for customers through the presentation layer of the e-commerce application. The results are useful for owners of eshops, for their conception of setting up the operations of their companies and especially for the company, where the analysis was performed. According to selected company Penny Ltd., this analysis sets for its eshop Elektro-partner.cz twenty elementary processes, whose implementation will lead to saving staff time, maximum use of the information system including the possibility of implementing new modules, setting up workflow processes and possibility to make a profit and higher customer satisfaction. In the theoretical part are marketing tools 4P for eshops enhanced by services and competitiors. There is also a specially adapted Porter's value chain for eshops and is used a model of e-commerce trust. On this basis it is created the current marketing strategy of eshop including the SWOT analysis and definition of strategic objectives. Identified processes were divided into elementary, key and support groups and relationships between them were made. For the optimization process is used Hammer and Champy methodology and feasibility and success of the thesis is evaluated according to best practises reengineering projects. Reengineered processes are defined with specification, exploited documents, information system and eshop application modules, illustrated by using EPC model and they are defined metrics and specifically listed areas of improvement.
