Undersökning av affärssystem lämpliga för mindre företag / Study of ERP Systems Suitable for a Smaller CompanyKarkane, Karkane, Sedki, Waad January 2012 (has links)
In today's businesses, with multiple associated business processes that extend various areas of work, there is a need for efficient IT support that is tailored to the individual business. ERP systems are such IT supports which are used to support, facilitate, plan and follow up a business. With several different functions that cover most of business processes, prospects are to optimize these and automate the administrative processes to ultimately be able to put more focus on the core business. The study aims to investigate suitable ERP systems for small business and also investigate approaches available to select and acquire an ERP system. In behalf of Stockwine Group Ltd. we have had the opportunity to explore the subject in a real case. An insight that has been arisen during the study is that there are few widely recognized methods for the selection and acquisition of business software, instead suppliers and consultancies uses methods of their own. We have mainly used parts from the method Välja och Förvalta Standardsystem (VFS-method) as an approach to our work. Besides the examination of suitable ERP systems, the subject has brought other important elements that have become a central part of our work, including a feasibility study that includes mapping of Stockwine Group's business, a needs’ analysis and a requirements specification. Another important part has been the interviews and meetings with vendors and consulting firms, whose information has been used as the basis of our evaluation of the selected ERP systems. The evaluation has led to a recommendation of four selected ERP systems that we believe would enable the effectiveness of Stockwine Group's business processes.

Strategic Dilemma With ERP System Implementation : Enterprise vs Consultant PerspectiveIDOWU, HAKEEM ADEWALE January 2009 (has links)

Over the past few years and up to date, many companies around the globe have implemented Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Implementing ERP system in an organisation is considered as an irresistible challenge, with the typical ERP system implementation approach. In correspondent, management in an organisation are facing critical challenges' to make decision on a specific ERP system implementation strategy, however, any considered decision would influence development, testing and ultimately the success of the implementation. Therefore, this thesis aims to examine solution to how organisation can decide or choose the best ERP system implementation strategy and explore the one that could be highly recommended by considering enterprise and consultant perspectives.

In order to accomplish the purpose of this thesis, qualitative and quantitative method of collecting and analysing data were adopted. Quantitative and qualitative data were collected through the mean of questionnaire and structure interview. This is one of the reasons why this thesis can be viewed in an inductive and deductive approaches. To this end, exploratory and descriptive knowledge should be derived from this study.

Analysis of this thesis has discovered that, there are many influencing factors in which organisation needed to be considered when making choice of a particular ERP system implementation strategy. These factors include: (i) Size and Complexity of an organisation (ii) Degree of internationalisation (iii) Number of requirements (iv) Nature of integration and (v) Skills and Experience of people within an organisation.

In order to choose appropriate strategy for ERP system implementation, organisation should considered to implement a skeleton system in which other application can be added to the systems when it is in operation. Clarification of a business vision that would call for the legacy system replacement or re-modification, is also essential for an organisation to consider. Considering the above statements, organisation should be able to choose appropriate strategy that would fit their business processes.

Nevertheless, Phased strategy is considered as the best or appropriate implementation strategy in which organisation can rely upon. Previous issue date: 2008-10-22 / Business Intelligence (BI) is a support solution to decision-making that helps
business managers turn huge volumes of transactional data into useful
information, which, when timely available in the appropriate format offers support
to decision making. When this technology is applied together with the ERP
(Enterprise Resource Planning) system, it builds up and enhances results, since
ERP forms an integrated database containing consistent data from many areas of
the organization. The exploitation of this corporate database can offer valuable
information, which is extremely useful to the organization decision making
process. However, many companies, while implementing good BI projects from
the technical viewpoint, end up not obtaining the expected results from their
applications. This occurs because BI does not involve technological issues only,
but also requires special attention to other important factors such as: creativity,
culture and people who understands the full value of information as a strategic
resource. The purpose of this study is to show the factors that should be taken
into consideration, since they can make a difference between the project s
success and its mediocre result. To support the reasoning of this research
problem, a case study of the company PETROM Petroquímica Mogi das
Cruzes S.A. was carried out. The results obtained from bibliographical research
and the case study demonstrate that the critical factors for BI application success
analyzed, can decisively influence the success of BI projects, especially factors
dealing with the importance of executive support and BI applications alignment

Relationship Between Enterprise Resource Planning System and Organizational Productivity in Local GovernmentChiawah, Tambei 01 January 2019 (has links)
Organizations experience challenges despite efforts to increase productivity through implementing large-scale enterprise systems. Leaders of local government institutions do not understand how to achieve expected and desired benefits from the implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Lack of alignment between social and technical elements in ERP implementation depresses organizational productivity. The purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to examine whether social and technical elements increase use and productivity in ERP implementation. The research questions addressed the relationship between ERP and organizational efficiency, cross-functional communication, information sharing, ease of ERP use, and ERP usefulness. Sociotechnical systems theory provided the theoretical basis for the study. Data were collected from online surveys completed by 61 ERP users and analyzed using Wilcoxon matched pairs statistics and Spearman's correlation coefficient. Findings indicated a positive significant relationship between ERP and information sharing, a positive significant relationship between ERP system quality and ease of ERP use, and a positive significant relationship between ERP system quality and organizational productivity. Findings may be used by local government leaders, technology managers, and chief information officers to ensure ERP sustainability and increase productivity.

Previous issue date: 2014-02-19 / Considering the representativeness of the Construction sector in the national economy, there is an increase in demand for the use and adaptation of concepts, techniques and methods developed for the manufacturing environment aiming to improve the production and management performance of companies. The use of information systems, especially ERP, has being the focus of several studies in the last decade. Thus, it is considered that the matter "ERPs" for construction, specifically considering the use of methods of decision making with multiple criteria, is far from being fully consolidated, and this research contributes to society and the academic community to enrich this discussion. The main objective of this work is to apply a form of prioritization of management processes to assist the selection of ERP system in construction company aimed at improving the flow of information held between the management system and production system, providing improved management processes management. The method of making multiple decision criteria provided AHP prioritization processes that must be considered in the selection and adoption of an ERP. The research supports the view of many studies that link the analysis of the internal processes of a company as relevant to the adoption of management information systems, as these should be oriented to business processes and not the opposite. Considering the importance of the issues raised by the analysis of the proposed case, the prioritization process, systematized by applying the AHP method can be considered as one (and not only) the guidelines in the selection of ERP systems available in the market process.
