Otto Maria Carpeaux, in Origens e Fins (1943, p. 347), referring to Graciliano Ramos said: Surely the soul of this dry novelist is not dry, it is full of mercy and sympathy with all creatures, it is much wider than a philanthropic schoolmaster can imagine, it even covers up mute killer Casimiro Lopes, even dog Baleia, whose death touched me deeply. These words confirm the mastery of Graciliano Ramos with great sensitivity to reach the heart of the reader. In this regard, Alvaro Lins, in the afterword of this famous novel, says Although, pity that is not aroused directly, Graciliano Ramos leads it from his readers to his characters. Thus, in this research through the analysis of the linguistic resources used by him, we try to understand how this provocation of the readers to their characters is done, in a book that not only denounces the suffering of the people punished by drought, but also hoped to arouse the reader s empathy for the northeast. During the research, the contact with the ideas of Macken-Horarik (2003), who does research about semantic Appraisal presenting a frame to investigate, in narratives active responsive understanding of readers (2003, p. 286). She shows how language resources for the construction of emotion and ethics are arranged in a specific way to co-create complex meanings of higher order, or metarelations that put readers in relation to the characters in the course of a text. Thus, the objective of this research is to examine in the book Vidas Secas metarelations through Appraisal throughout the novel. Thus this research aims to answer to the following questions: (a) What is the role of Appraisal in which ethical values are transmitted, although not always specified in the text? (b) How are constructed metarelations based on Appraisal for readers, while they feel empathy for the characters, they also judge them ethically? The methodological analysis of critical approach, uses the Systemic Functional Language, and in particular the Appraisal Theory, which is an extension of the interpersonal metafunction in Systemic Functional Linguistics, and according to Martin (2000), we can deal with not only the explicit forms, but also implicit choices, over long stretches of a text / Ao ler Vidas Secas, instiga-nos a curiosidade em compreender por que o livro comove tanto. Assim, nesta pesquisa, por meio da análise dos recursos linguísticos utilizados por ele, tentamos compreender como é feita essa provocação dos leitores para seus personagens , em um livro que ao denunciar o sofrimento do povo castigado pela seca, também esperava despertar no leitor empatia pelos nordestinos. No decorrer da pesquisa, o contato com as ideias de Macken-Horarik (2003), que trabalha na pesquisa da semântica avaliativa apresentando um enquadre para investigar na narração a compreensão responsiva ativa dos leitores (2003, p. 286), colaborou muito para o trabalho. Ela mostra como os recursos linguísticos para a construção de emoção e de ética são dispostos de maneira específica para cocriar complexos de significados de ordem superior, ou metarrelações, que posicionam os leitores em relação aos personagens no decorrer de um texto. Com isso, o objetivo desta pesquisa é examinar no livro Vidas Secas as metarrelações por meio da Avaliatividade que percorre o romance. Para tanto, embasou-se na teoria psicodinâmica sobre o desenvolvimento emocional, cuidador (es) e circulação de crianças.Utilizou-se o método qualitativo, no intuito de capturar dados e informações sobre o fenômeno estudado em sua singularidade (MINAYO, 2010). A dimensão interdisciplinar do presente estudo, calcado na união de conceitos antropológicos e psicológicos, levantou a necessidade de utilizar mais de uma estratégia metodológica, para responder o problema da pesquisa e alcançar o seu objetivo. Desta forma, utilizou-se para coleta dos dados a entrevista semi-estruturada com uma dupla de pais e/ou responsáveis por cinco crianças regularmente matriculadas no primeiro ano do ensino fundamental, além do professor responsável pela referida classe. Fez-se o grupo focal com pais e/ou responsáveis, além da observação de um dia inteiro de cada criança. A análise de conteúdo foi utilizada para avaliar qualitativamente as respostas das entrevistas, ou seja, analisar o material verbal (FRANCO, 2007). Utilizou-se, ainda, do ecomapa e de um viés da perspectiva proposta por Mauss (2001), os quais auxiliaram a montagem da rede social (BOTT, 1976) e a observação participante com registro em diário de campo e posterior análise, ao permitir identificar e interpretar os fenômenos em estudo. Conclui-se que o desenvolvimento emocional na atualidade está ancorado em uma circulação de crianças vigiada, com redes de malha estreita, com poucas relações possíveis sem a escolha dos responsáveis. O ser em cuidado então se sente sufocado, por conseguinte os cuidadores passam a exigir cuidados redobrados de si que os tornam carentes e necessitados de escuta, pois a interdição e o medo gera angústia, ansiedade e futura agressividade. Assim, deve-se ampliar e investir em pesquisas que apreendam a circulação de crianças como forma de investigar como ela está se desenvolvendo emocionalmente na atualidade, para diminuir transtornos psiquiátricos futuros e auxiliar os cuidadores de crianças. / The present study aimed to understand how caregivers, parents and/or guardians, understand emotional development in the context of movement of children. Therefore, the research resorted to psychodynamic theory about emotional development, caregiver (s) and movement of children. We used the qualitative method in order to capture data and information about the studied phenomenon in its uniqueness (MINAYO, 2010). The interdisciplinary dimension of this study, based on the union of anthropological and psychological concepts, raised the need to use more of a methodology to answer the research problem and achieve your goal. Thus, it was used for data collection to semistructured interview with a couple of parents and/or guardians of five children regularly enrolled in the first year of elementary school, and the teacher responsible for that class. There was a focus group with parents and/or guardians, and the observation of a day for each child. Content analysis was used to evaluate qualitatively the responses of the interviews, and analyze the verbal material (FRANCO, 2007). It was used also ecomap and a bias perspective proposed by Mauss (2001), which helped the mounting social network (BOTT, 1976) and participant observation with journaling field and subsequent analysis, to help identify and interpret the phenomena under study. We conclude that emotional development is anchored today in a movement of children watched with close-knit networks with few relationships possible without the assignment of responsibilities. Being in care then feel suffocated therefore caregivers start to demand extra care of themselves that make them poor and needy listening because the ban generates fear and anguish, anxiety and aggressiveness future. Thus, one must expand and invest in research which seize the movement of children as a way to investigate how it is developing emotionally today to reduce future psychiatric disorders and assist caregivers of children.

The journalist Paulo Sant Ana, 69, native of the state of Rio Grande do Sul and object of the present master s degree dissertation, fits well into this context inasmuch as he follows strategies that have the complexity required by this new reality. Since the 1970s Sant Ana has been active in three communication media of Rio Grande do Sul: the Zero Hora newspaper, Rádio Gaúcha and RBS TV Porto Alegre, which are part of the Rede Brasil Sul de Comunicação, or RBS (Southern Brazil Communication Network), the largest and most powerful media monopoly of the southern region and one of the most important in Brazil. Since September 2007 Sant Ana has had his own blog at www.zerohora.com. With the help of theatrical performances in which he uses jokes, irony and metaphors, he has built over the course of 37 years a style of journalism all his own, something that comes close to a creative post-modernism directly linked to daily life and experiences. Within this sphere, the most important of the two hypotheses of this study, which attempts to understand how the construct of the image of a mediatic phenomenon took place, is that Sant Ana s success can be at least partly explained by his unique and singular way of being and presenting himself as a mediatic subject, who, by means of his doings and manner of presenting himself, creates an identity associated with trustworthiness, honesty, authenticity and sensibility. Based on the premise that every discourse has the hallmarks (styles, beliefs and competencies) of its enunciator, this Master s Degree Dissertation has analyzed the facts (newsworthy or not) that most strongly influenced the definition of this journalist s identity. The other and not less significant hypothesis is that Sant Ana embodies features related to the character of the natives of Rio Grande do Sul, such as courage, pride and magnanimity, that stir the imagination of the natives of this state. To this perspective were added vital reflections on post-modernity, columns, news and regionalism (Harvey, Sodré, Maffesoli, Bauman, Vicchiatti, Chaparro, Oliven, Debord and others), besides the analysis of Sant Ana s discourse undertaken with the instruments of discursive semiotics (Greimas, Oliveira, Landowski, Pessoa de Barros, Fiorin, Fechini and others). The texts that were analyzed and that with, within the semiotic perspective, are not necessarily verbal were chosen from online searches, interviews, analyses of recorded radio and TV programs, as well as bibliographical and newspaper research / O novo espírito do tempo deste início de século 21, dito pós-moderno, marcado pela imagem, pelo efêmero e pelo fragmentário, pede relações midiáticas que contemplem o cultivo das possibilidades sensoriais e afetivas. O jornalista gaúcho Paulo Sant Ana, 69 anos, objeto da presente Dissertação de Mestrado, insere-se nesse contexto ao apostar em estratégias dotadas da complexidade que esse novo real pressupõe. Sant Ana atua desde os anos 70 em três mídias gaúchas: Jornal Zero Hora, Rádio Gaúcha e RBS TV Porto Alegre, que integram a Rede Brasil Sul de Comunicação (RBS), maior e mais poderoso monopólio de mídia da região sul e um dos mais significativos do país. Desde setembro de 2007, o jornalista comanda um blog no site www.zerohora.com. Por meio de performances teatrais, nas quais faz uso de gracejos, ironias e metáforas, ele construiu, ao longo de 37 anos, uma proposta de jornalismo de estilo diferenciado, próximo de um pós-modernismo criativo diretamente ligado ao vivido e ao cotidiano. Nesse âmbito, a principal das duas hipóteses do presente estudo, o qual buscou compreender como ocorreu a construção da imagem de um fenômeno midiático, é a de que o sucesso de Sant Ana se explica, ao menos em parte, pelo jeito único e peculiar de ser e de expor-se como sujeito midiático, que constrói, por seu fazer e por seus modos de aparecer, uma identidade ligada ao credível, ao honesto, ao autêntico e ao sensível. Partindo da premissa de que todo discurso carrega marcas (estilos, crenças e competências) de seu enunciador, a Dissertação de Mestrado analisou os fatos (noticiosos ou não) de maior impacto na definição da identidade do jornalista no Rio Grande do Sul. A outra hipótese, não menos importante, é a de que Sant Ana encarna características ligadas ao gauchismo, como a coragem, a soberba e a altivez, que mexem com o imaginário do morador do Estado. Em coadunação com essa perspectiva, foram imprescindíveis reflexões acerca da pós-modernidade, da crônica, da notícia e do regionalismo (Harvey, Sodré, Maffesoli, Bauman, Vicchiatti, Chaparro, Oliven, Debord e outros), além de uma análise do discurso produzido por Sant Ana, por meio do instrumental da semiótica discursiva (Greimas, Oliveira, Landowski, Pessoa de Barros, Fiorin, Fechini e outros). On this basis, outlines to the research problem: studying how the canvass has appropriated from the media democracy context to expose your messages, the use of reason and emotion, selling dreams to the voter and other issues such as criticism of the opponent and the promises they do. The research objective is to highlight the types of prepared content to be transmitted to voters who attend the free election time, analyze the arguments, the quality and content of such placements, as well as highlight the distinctions between them, and evaluating their effectiveness, their main features, which set them apart and what resources they used to attract attention and the popular vote. The methodology was the analysis of content, since you want to understand what are the main signs and characteristics defined by the parties and the candidates at the time disclosed. Six categories have been defined for the analysis of ten videos of television free Airtime the three candidates, both the first as the second round. We conclude that the candidate Dilma Rousseff was the most advantage of all strategic artifices of political communication, electoral propaganda, appropriate of media democracy, with strong emotional appeal in the categories analyzed, resulting in a narrow victory, the most disputed today however, a positive result for the reelection campaign of President. / Essa pesquisa tem como objeto a comunicação política com foco na propaganda eleitoral, no contexto da democracia midiática. Partindo deste princípio, delineia-se o problema de pesquisa: estudar como a propaganda eleitoral tem se apropriado do contexto da democracia midiática para expor suas mensagens, o uso entre a razão e a emoção, a venda de sonhos ao eleitor entre outros assuntos como as críticas ao adversário e as promessas que realizam. O objetivo da pesquisa é destacar os tipos de conteúdos elaborados para serem transmitidos aos eleitores que assistem ao horário eleitoral gratuito, analisar os argumentos, a qualidade e o teor de tais veiculações, assim como destacar as distinções entre eles, avaliando assim sua efetividade, suas principais características, o que os diferenciava e quais os recursos que usavam para atrair a atenção e o voto dos eleitores. A metodologia adotada foi a análise de conteúdo, uma vez que se deseja compreender quais são os principais sinais e características definidos pelos partidos e pelos candidatos no momento de serem divulgados. Foram definidas seis categorias para a análise de dez vídeos do horário eleitoral gratuito na televisão dos três principais candidatos, tanto do primeiro, quanto do segundo turno. Conclui-se que a candidata Dilma Rousseff foi a que mais aproveitou de todos os artifícios estratégicos da comunicação política, da propaganda eleitoral, apropriada da democracia midiática, com forte apelo emotivo nas categorias analisadas, resultando em uma vitória apertada, a mais disputada até hoje, porém, de resultado positivo para a campanha de reeleição da presidente

Esta pesquisa descreve um conjunto de estratégias específicas desenvolvidas pelo autor na preparação e execução do repertório pianístico. As estratégias, sistematizadas no curso de Doutorado da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, consistem de deliberações expressivas e toques pianísticos que se entrelaçam formando um complexo de ações e atitudes adotadas na preparação e execução do conteúdo emocional do repertório pianístico. Trata-se de uma abordagem que visa o desenvolvimento das habilidades interpretativas como parte integral do domínio técnico do instrumentista. / This research describes a set of specific strategies developed by the author during the preparations and realizations of the pianístico repertoire. These strategies, systematized during his doctoral studies at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul; consist of expressive deliberations and pianistic touches interwoven to form a complex of actions and attitudes to be adopted in the preparation and realization of the emotional content in the pianístic repertoire. This approach aims at developing interpretative abilities as an integral part of the instrumentalist’s technical domain.

A hipótese desta pesquisa é que a emoção suscitada pela imagem dos apresentadores de telejornal cria laços de fidelização com o telespectador. Esta é uma estratégia para fidelizar a audiência através da imagem mítica de perfeição dos apresentadores do Jornal Nacional, Fátima Bernardes e William Bonner. No campo teórico, amparo-me na neurociência, na psicologia e na sociologia para compreender como a emoção desempenha importante papel na tomada de decisões racionais, incorporando essa concepção às teorias do jornalismo. No campo metodológico, utilizo o Orkut - mais acessado site de relacionamentos no Brasil - como ambiente de estudo de recepção. A espontaneidade e a liberdade de expressão dos participantes permitem encontrar os sentidos de emoção e fidelização sem interferência externa à amostra. Como corpus de análise discursiva, trabalho com 60 comunidades dedicadas ao casal e ao JN, em um período de seis anos, investigando descrições das comunidades, enquetes e participações dos usuários. / The hypothesis of this research is that the emotion produced by the image of newscasters creates ties of fidelity with television viewers. This is a strategy in order to maintain the audience fidelity through the mythical image of perfection of Jornal Nacional newscasters, Fátima Bernardes and William Bonner. As theoretical approach, I took concepts of neuroscience, psychology and sociology to comprehend how emotion executes an important function at rational decisions, incorporating this view to journalism theories. As methodological approach, I choose Orkut - the biggest social networking website on Brazil - as ambient to the reception study. The spontaneity and freedom of Orkut users made possible to find the meanings of emotion and fidelity without external interference. As discursive sample, I choose 60 virtual communities dedicated to the newscasters and Jornal Nacional, in the course of six years, analyzing communities descriptions, surveys and participations of users.

A presente investigação teve como objetivo geral investigar a comunicação das nuanças da emoção triste em ponteios de Camargo Guarnieri através das relações entre a estrutura musical e recursos expressivos. O delineamento metodológico foi de natureza qualitativa e quantitativa. Para cada Ponteio, foram escolhidos dois termos que traduzissem nuanças dessa emoção. A amostra foi constituída de estudantes de música em nível de extensão (N = 66), graduação e pós-graduação (N = 63) pertencentes aos cursos da UFRGS. A coleta de dados empregou um questionário por escolha forçada, onde os participantes indicaram a emoção percebida. O estímulo foi a performance integral, ao vivo, de cada Ponteio. A abordagem qualitativa envolveu uma entrevista semiestruturada por estimulação de recordação com sete pianistas universitários, visando a reflexão tanto sobre as terminologias escolhidas para cada Ponteio, como sobre as decisões interpretativas. Os resultados demonstraram que o grau de comunicação emocional com base nos termos escolhidos apresentou dispersão em ambas as populações investigadas. O modelo bidimensional de Russell permitiu analisar o registro da performance com polarizações entre valência (timbre, dinâmica) e atividade (andamento, timing, articulação). Levando em conta os recursos estruturais e expressivos concebidos pela intérprete, a incidência dos termos percebidos pelos estudantes universitários e os níveis relativos de atividade e valência, os Ponteios puderam ser classificados em termos relativos de grau de tristeza. / The present research aimed at investigating the relationships between musical structure and expressive resources manipulated in the planning of the interpretation of four Ponteios from Camargo Guarnieri bearing explicit indications of the emotion Sadness, for the communication of this emotion in the performance. The methodological design was quali- and quantitative. The interpretation of the Ponteios 11, 31, 36 and 41 was constructed aiming at communicating the emotion Sadness, based on musical interpretative analysis and the structural and expressive aspects associated to the communication of this emotion, according to the literature. For each Ponteio, two terms that might translate the nuances of this emotion were chosen. Sample was constituted of music students at university extension level (N = 66), as well as music undergraduate and graduate students from UFRGS. Data sampling employed a questionnaire by forced choice. The stimulus was the whole piece live performance. The qualitative approach involved a semi structured stimulated recall interview with seven universitary students, aiming at thinking both on the chosen terms as well as on the interpretative choices. The results have demonstrated that the degree of emotional communication, based on the chosen terms, presented dispersion in both investigated populations. Russell´s bidimensional model allowed us to analyze the performance records with polarization between valence (timbre, dynamics) and activity (tempo, timing, articulation). Taking into account the structural and expressive resources conceived by the performer, the incidence of the terms perceived by the university level students and the relative levels of activity and valence, the Ponteios could be classified in terms of relative degree of Sadness.

These strategies, systematized during his doctoral studies at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul; consist of expressive deliberations and pianistic touches interwoven to form a complex of actions and attitudes to be adopted in the preparation and realization of the emotional content in the pianístic repertoire. This approach aims at developing interpretative abilities as an integral part of the instrumentalist’s technical domain.

This research work that I present as Master s Dissertation Defense in Education,in the line ofTraining, Knowledge and Professional Development(PPGE - UFSM) aims to contribute to theoretical and epistemological subsidies for teacher training in general, and the Physiotherapy Teachers training in particular, from the propositions of Biology of Cognition and Biology of Love, the human biologicalrelational basis in a rescue perspective of respect and lovingness between teacher and scholar.For the development of this Master s thesis, activities were conducted as qualitative type of theoretical and epistemological character.The framework that guides the "investigative and reflective look of the researcher ((BARCELOS, 2005) towards production of research information (JACQUES GAUTHIER, 1998) is the establishment of dialogs that emphasize the rescue of emotions as acting that involves listening, talking, cooperation and mutual acceptance. It is a relevant work, because it underlies the presentation of alternative searches to deal with the challenges posed to education, taking into account the intense transformations occurring in the world today. Thus, one of the main objectives ofthis research is to explain the contributions of some epistemological propositions of Humberto Maturana for building an education that promotes guided education in the rediscovery of human nature, a nature determined by love, based on democracy as an art without desire for domination with the resignation of the teacher's authority,in an atmosphere that fosters and encourages discovery through parlance (Maturana,2004,p.30) of respect and freedom. Research has shown that for this education happens it is necessary to pay attention to emotions as care, listening and welcoming of differences in spaces and school times. / Este trabalho de pesquisa que apresento como Dissertaçãopara Defesa de Mestrado em Educação, na Linha Formação, Saberes e Desenvolvimento Profissional (PPGE-UFSM), têm como objetivo contribuir com subsídios teóricos e epistemológicos para a Formação de Professores (as) em geral, e para a Formação de Professores (as) de Fisioterapia em particular, a partir das proposições da Biologia do Conhecer e Biologia do Amar, o fundamento biológico-relacional humano numa perspectiva de resgate do respeito e amorosidade entre professor (a) e acadêmico (a). Para o desenvolvimento desta dissertação de Mestrado foram realizadas atividades de pesquisa do tipo qualitativa e de caráter teórico-epistemológico. O referencial que orienta o olhar investigativo e reflexivo do pesquisador (BARCELOS, 2005) no sentido da produção das informações de pesquisa (JACQUES GAUTHIER, 1998), é o do estabelecimento de diálogos que privilegiem o resgate das emoções como um fazer que envolve a escuta, o conversar, a cooperação e aceitação mútua. Constituise em um trabalho de relevância, pois o mesmo fundamenta a apresentação das buscas de alternativas para lidar com os desafios colocados à educação, levando em conta as intensas transformações ocorridas no mundo atual. Assim, um dos principais objetivos desta pesquisa é explicitar as contribuições de algumas proposições epistemológicas de Humberto Maturana para a edificação de uma educação que promova uma educação pautadana redescoberta da natureza humana, uma natureza determinada pelo amar, baseada na democracia como uma artesem o desejo da dominação com a renúncia da autoridade do professor, num clima que propicie e estimule a descoberta através do linguajar(MATURANA, 2004, p. 30), do respeito e da liberdade. A pesquisa demonstrou que para que esta educação aconteça há que se atentar para emoções como o cuidado, a escuta e o acolhimento das diferenças nos espaços e tempos escolares.
