A pluralidade de Takashi Murakami no desafio aos limites da arte / Takashi Murakami\'s plurality in defying the limits of artBarretto, Lizia Maria Ymanaka 08 February 2019 (has links)
This study aims to investigate the plurality observed in the work of contemporary Japanese artist Takashi Murakami (1962-), discussing how his work in various areas is directly linked to his artistic and to make poetic development. In the first chapter, we will construct a panorama on the art market, presenting some of the main agents and events that constitute and move it. Understanding this scenario makes it possible to delve more clearly into Murakami\'s various actions during the second chapter. Taking the \"artista-etc\" [artist-etc] concept of the Brazilian artist and critic Ricardo Basbaum (1961-) as a starting point, we will begin to realize that partnerships in fashion and design, as well as the work of gallerist, collector and entrepreneur, are roles that Murakami plays in search of answers linked to his inquiry about art. The complexity of the artist is also seen in his aesthetic development, which is the third chapter of this text. Through the mapping of his accomplished works and artists who have instigated him since his formation in college, we will find a diverse repertoire, started with the practice of nihonga. The dissatisfaction with this language led Murakami through a series of experiments, before developing the super flat concept by which he is recognized worldwide. The international projection gained allowed the artist to continue to expand his research, through his partnership with Professor and Art Historian Nobuo Tsuji (1932-) in which he works to rescue some Japanese names of Japanese art that have yet been little-studied outside (and even within) Japan. It is hoped that, from the reading about Murakami presented in this work, one can contribute to the discussions on contemporary and Japanese art.

EVALUATING LUBRICANTS IN SHEET METAL FORMINGLanzon, Joseph, kimg@deakin.edu.au 1999 July 1918 (has links)
The sheet metal forming process basically involves the shaping of sheet metal of various thickness and material properties into the desired contours. This metal forming process has been extensively used by the automotive industry to manufacture both car panels and parts. Over the years numerous investigations have been conducted on various aspects of the manufacturing process with varied success. In recent years the requirements on the sheet metal forming industry have headed towards improved stability in the forming process while lowering environmental burdens. Therefore the overall aim of this research was to identify a technique for developing lubricant formulations that are insensitive to the sheet metal forming process.
Due to the expense of running experiments on production presses and to improve time efficiency of the process the evaluation procedure was required to be performed in a laboratory. Preliminary investigations in the friction/lubricant system identified several laboratory tests capable of measuring lubricant performance and their interaction with process variables. However, little was found on the correlation between laboratory tests and production performance of lubricants. Therefore the focus of the research switched to identifying links between the performance of lubricants in a production environment and laboratory tests. To reduce the influence of external parameters all significant process variables were identified and included in the correlation study to ensure that lubricant formulations could be desensitised to all significant variables.
The significant process variables were found to be sensitive to die position, for
instance: contact pressure, blank coating of the strips and surface roughness of the dies were found significant for the flat areas of the die while no variables affected friction when polished drawbeads were used. The next phase was to identify the interaction between the significant variables and the main lubricant ingredient groups. Only the fatty material ingredient group (responsible for the formation of boundary lubricant regimes) was found to significantly influence friction with no interaction between the ingredient groups. The influence of varying this ingredient group was then investigated in a production part and compared to laboratory results.
The correlation between production performance and laboratory tests was found to be test dependant. With both the Flat Face Friction test and the Drawbead Simulator unaffected by changes in the lubricant formulation, while the Flat Bottom Cup test showing similar results as the production trial. It is believed that the lack of correlation between the friction tests and the production performance of the lubricant is due to the absence of bulk plastic deformation of the strip. For this reason the Ohio State University (OSU) friction test was incorporated in the lubricant evaluation procedure along with a Flat Bottom Cup test.
Finally, it is strongly believed that if the lubricant evaluation procedure highlighted in this research is followed then lubricant formulations can be developed confidently in the laboratory.

Signifiers in flat design : How does the user figure out what is clickable?Nilsson, Linda January 2018 (has links)
A task for a digital designer is to create useful visual interfaces, which can be seen as, for example, text and graphics. It creates a real problem when the designer uses the popular style flat design in visual interfaces when later research indicates that the style lacks clear signals (signifiers) that tells what is clickable due to the lack of shadows. Research says that it is difficult to detect what is clickable when clickable elements do not "pop out" as in the theory of preattentive processing; which makes the style less useful. But there are contradictions in recent research which means that I want to increase understanding of how the user figure out what is clickable in flat design.Through a qualitative case study consisting of an experiment, the observation and interview methods, I examined flat design signifiers using 5 informants and 3 web pages. I found that what makes the user figure out if elements are clickable depends on the composition between the details and the whole. design laws are important. Conventions are important and the theory of preattentive processing. The informants have an inferior behavior, but they also learn as they browse and there are elements that “pop out” despite the absence of shadows.

Warped Galaxies : Recovery Of Pattern Speed, Velocity Field And The Warp EquationMaji, Moupiya 05 1900 (has links) (PDF)
Pattern speed is an important parameter of the density wave theory for spiral galaxies. In this thesis we have determined the pattern speed for warped galaxies (flat galaxies being a special case of this generalization) using the observable data of the surface brightness and line-of-sight velocity distribution of the galaxy. We have also extracted the transverse velocity field for the warped galaxy using the same data. Here we have simulated the data and applied our method to it and we found that our method works well in warped galaxy. We assume a parameterized model of the warp and by the method of minimizing χ2 error we can determine the parameters of the model also and thus we can construct the warp equation. We have also discussed the implications and the limitations of this method.
