Stopp i produktionen : - Lockouten 1923 vid Fagersta Bruk AB

Pålsson, Mattias January 2010 (has links)

Strandberg, Sofia January 2021 (has links)
This is a bachelor thesis in information design with a focus on spatial design. This study examines how history could be showcased along a national road to create identity in a town, and how quickly this communication should take place. Fagersta, the town that is being investigated, is a small mill town that has a national road that runs right through the city. The road is used daily not only by residents, but also by tourists and passers-by, as it is the main road with the most coverage in Fagersta. Since the roundabouts and refuges along the national road are empty or have older mill objects with a pre-understanding requirement in them, it does not communicate the town’s history nor its identity. How can a town's history and identity be communicated along a road when there's traffic rules and speed to consider? There is little research on the area of design and road safety as a common denominator, but research on billboards shows that if you look away from the road for more than two seconds, it affects road safety. In addition to this, experiences, storytelling and maps with different notes are examined to try to understand the complexity of information narration in a traffic situation. This is further investigated through three methods which are an external analysis, a questionnaire and a focus group. This results in a concept for the national road through Fagersta, which is embodied with an example of a re-design in a roundabout.

Den bibliotekspolitiska utvecklingen i Fagersta och Falköping 1991 – 2001- en dokumentstudie / The bibliopolitical progress in Fagersta and Falköping 1991 – 2001 - a documentary study

Englöf, Carina, Klingberg, Elisabeth January 2017 (has links)
This thesis reports on a study of official political documents for Falköping and Fagersta public libraries, aiming for a deeper understanding of how they were affected by local culture policy. The period researched is 1991 – 2001. The comprehensive questions were: how did the strategic plans of the two municipalities follow the development of cultural policy in Sweden during the period, and what differences appeared in the development of the strategic plans of the two municipalities during this period? A document analysis was conducted with an empirical focus on historical policy documents. The analysis was guided by a model by Dorte Skot-Hansen. The model served as an analytical tool while comparing the strategic documents of the two libraries. Skot-Hansen illustrates three different rationalities in relation to cultural policy; the humanistic, the sociological and the market oriented. The analysis showed that both Fagersta and Falköping mainly followed the market-oriented line in the Dorte Skot-Hansen model. The study also points put that the local cultural policy was influenced by a humanistic and sociological line of reasoning.

Att få en plats på kartan : En etnologisk studie av skogsbranden i Västmanland 2014 / To get a place on the map : An ethnological study of the forest fire in Västmanland 2014

Litborn, Julia January 2017 (has links)
The forest fire of Västmanland in 2014 had a significant cultural impact on local communities. Research is warranted to better understand the impact and process of recovery after natural disasters, as well as to discover how underlying political and cultural structures affect rescue and recovery. Thus far, any research in this area has been carried out by government-funded studies and evaluations of crisis management. This study complements that existing body of research by exploring this topic through local experiences and memories of the fire and emergency operations. The analysis builds on four theoretical perspectives: Foucault’s theory of power; phenomenology; memory theory, and theories of identity. Through these, the study examines how locals relate to the burnt landscape as well as explores how political tensions relating to Swedish countryside have gained new relevance as a result of the fire. These research results indicate that memories of the fire are characterized by chaotic rescue operations and crisis management, and that their failure generally is interpreted as a result of current political and cultural discourses defined by urban norms that for decades have disfavored infrastructure and social security in rural parts of Sweden. The research shows that favorable conditions for rural life in general are crucial for successful crisis management. From a societal perspective, the battle for resources between urban and rural areas, combined with inequality between city and countryside, is very problematic. Many crises occur in rural areas, which require security and infrastructure nationwide. The study therefore stresses the importance of active use of local knowledge in governing on local and regional as well as national levels. Diversity is not only a matter of ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation, but also includes perspectives from all generations living all over the country.
