Medeiros, L?via Cristina Cortez Lula de 29 March 2012 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2014-12-17T14:36:43Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 LiviaCCLM_DISSERT.pdf: 525383 bytes, checksum: a121722089d270d767e9344bad3ff199 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-03-29 / This study investigates how the reading of fairy tales can be an instrument for reflection on the bullying phenomenon in the live of students. Its relevance is present the work with literature as an alternative to facilitate the understanding of children and young people about this violence practice, on the basis of the discussion moments, mediated in the classroom. Methodologically based in the principles of qualitative investigation, setting itself as a bibliographic research, and linked to the content analysis in order to make inferences and construct interpretations from the study of tales that encourage discussion and reflection about the bullying theme. In this work were selected the following stories: Cinderella 1812) and a One-eye, Two-eyes, Three-eyes (1812) of Grimm Brothers; John-Slapstick (1837), The Storks (1838), and The Ugly Duckling (1844) of Andersen, to make possible a more explicit interface between literature and the bullying theme, providing fertile material for moments of debate. Was taken as the theoretical reference studies of Eco (2003), Jouve (2002), Zilberman (2003, 2004), Lajolo (2001), Rabbit (2008), Bettelheim (2007), Amarilha (2004), Held (1980), Beaudoin and Taylor (2006), Fante and Stone (2008), Middelton-Moz and Zawadski (2007), Olweus (2006), Jares (2002, 2006), Beane (2010), La Taille (2006, 2009) and Piaget (1994). The analysis demonstrated that the characteristics inherent in the literature allow the realization of readings in which the bullying theme can be discussed among students, to contribute positively in the education of children and young people and reflect about violence. This is possible way, especially because of the involvement promoted by the reading of literary texts, allowing that students see, in fiction, possibilities of change / Este estudo investiga como a leitura de contos de fada pode se constituir um meio para a reflex?o sobre o fen?meno bullying presente na vida de escolares. As an?lises mostraram que as caracter?sticas inerentes ?

Nos fios das narradoras: tramas e urdiduras do feminino nos contos de fadas de Angela Carter e Marina Colasanti / In thread of the narrators: plots and warp in fairy tales of Angela Carter and Marina Colasanti

Simone Campos Paulino 13 February 2014 (has links)
Identificou-se, ainda, como estratégias poéticas comuns à escrita de ambas as autoras, aspectos intertextuais como a paródia, o palimpsesto e o pastiche / This dissertation aims to comparative reading of fairy tales English writer Angela Carter, in the book The Bloody chamber, and the Italian-Brazilian Marina Colasanti, present in books like Uma ideia toda azul, Entre a espada e a rosa , Doze reis e a moça no labirinto do vento. We analyze how these authors resist the death of the storyteller described by Walter Benjamin and criticize the patriarchal society, revealing, of course, a feminist stance. Identified also as poetic strategies common to the writing of both authors, intertextual aspects such as parody, pastiche and the palimpsest

This paper‟s objective is to analyze six Celtic wonder tales collected by Ellis (1999) and Jacobs (1894; 2001), in search of their evolutionary transformations. This shall be done by identifying late elements deriving from the Celtic society and other cultures, as well as the changes in the standard style of the genre. In order to achieve that, we went through the morphological analysis of the tales‟ constitutive elements, together with stylistic studies. Next, such elements were subjected to social and cultural analysis, such as the identification of their primitive or mythological sources; those elements which were related specifically to the Celtic society and those generated by other social factors in a more general way; moreover, it was accomplished the actantial analysis of the characters‟ development. Finally, we pointed out the main transformations in the tales identified by means of the results obtained in all the performed analyses. The importance of this study lies on the possibility of establishing parameters for the tales evolution in the Celtic society, which can lead to specific canons related to this process. The results here obtained are supposed to operate as comparison tools for later researches related to the composition of this type of narrative inherent to societies other than the Celtics ones, from other regions of the world

Scrumdiddlyumptious Stories: Reflections and Reinforcements of Ideological Structures in Roald Dahl's Books for Children

January 2013 (has links)
abstract: Roald Dahl's books for children have often been characterized as deviating from "normal" plots in books for children because they feature elements and themes (e.g., violence, crude/rude behavior and humor, inversions of authority) that make representatives of the dominant culture (parents, school officials, teachers, librarians, etcetera) uncomfortable. Rather than view the stories holistically, challengers are quick to latch on to the specific incidents within these texts that cause discomfort, and use the particular as grounds to object to the whole. A deeper, and more critical, look reveals that instead of straying from established elements and themes in children's stories, Dahl's works have much in common with fairy tales--narratives that have endured in multiple iterations and over millennia. As with fairy tales, Dahl's stories for children offer readers ways to interpret--to make sense of and derive meaning from--their lives, while reflecting and reinforcing the ideological structures (family, appropriate behavior, capitalism) within which we find ourselves. / Dissertation/Thesis / M.A. English 2013

The investigation – Images, mythemes and myths in “The princess and the seamstress” and Princess Joana: discursive constructions of sexual identities, research follows a qualitative approach and investigates how sexual dissidences reconfigure gender identities in children's stories. The central objectives are to examine the myths in the narratives of contemporary fairy tales and to verify if they can (de)construct some identities. It is also intended to problematize myths which can possibly produce identities, as well as to investigate how the ideas expressed in the stories can insert or exclude sexual diversity in the contemporary world. Another purpose of the research is to discuss the relationship between gender identities constructed in the stories and their socially pre-established roles, in order to analyze how the myth is proposed in contemporary narrative of fairy tales. The corpus of our analysis was made up of two fairy tales written by Janaína Leslão which were published in Brazil from 2015 to 2016. These tales were entitled The Princess and the Seamstress, and Princess Joana. The analysis of the texts followed the theoretical and methodological principles of the Anthropology of the Imaginary and the interpretations were subsidized by the scientific method named mythcritic as proposed by Gilbert Durand. The results indicate that there is a renewal of the myths that subsidize new identity constructions about sexual dissidences. A saber: A Princesa e a Costureira e Joana Princesa.

Personagens femininas e personagens infantis nos contos de Grimm = um estudo de imagens e relações / Female characters and child characters in Grimm's fairy tales : a study of images and relationships

Orientador: Ana Luiza Bustamante Smolka / Tese (doutorado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Educação / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-19T01:28:24Z (GMT). / Abstract: This study aims to analyze the female characters and children's characters in Little Brother and Little Sister's tale (The Enchanted Deer), of Grimm's brothers, exploring the possible relations with the conditions of the tale and orphaned and abandoned children in contemporary society. The hypothesis that guides the study is the assumption that the stories, as a literary work, beyond space and time of its production, and still read today, mobilize and raise discussions about the possible interrelations and social positions in places occupied by child and woman in society today. To undertake analysis of the tale, we performed readings of different translators, opting for Iside Bonini's translation (1961). The ideas of Vygotsky and Bakhtin, more specifically the concept of dialogue and drama, gave theoretical support to the analysis performed. The tales themes include issues of contemporary human condition, showing positions and social roles, positions of power, family relations; they suggest ideas of motherhood, childhood and circumstances as orphanhood, abandonment and abuse. These themes have relations with the history of childhood, mobilizing senses about asymmetric relationship between adult, child and the complex everyday life. Based on the raised categories, were analyzed the images of wife, mother, stepmother, maternity, the conditions of children - abandonment and resistance - and the senses of abandonment and orphanhood yesterday and today. / Doutorado / Psicologia Educacional / Doutor em Educação

L’évolution du Petit Chaperon rouge

Boules, Sophia 17 March 2017 (has links)
Creating and writing fairy tales is a literary exercise that was introduced in the salons of the XVII century. Madame d'Aulnoy and Charles Perrault began to write the fairy tales that became fashionable at the court of King Louis XIV. Despite the simplicity of their narrative patterns, the tales carry messages that affect all readers. First addressed to adults, fairy tales dealt with anxieties, fears and desires of the human being. Little Red Riding Hood is one of the most famous tales in the world. Universally loved, this cautionary tale has experienced much evolution through the centuries. There are some differences between the very bloody oral version and the version of Perrault. A century later, the version of the two German brothers, the brothers Grimm, became the best-known version. But the story’s main rudiments have not changed: the little girl, the wolf, the mother, the grandmother and the forest, these elements have not ceased to inspire the authors up to the present day. Today the rewriting of fairy tales has become an art in its own right. If we look at the market of youth literature, we will find hundreds of tales rewritten and modernized. Writers take advantage of the popularity of these tales that fascinate adults as well as children. Little Red Riding Hood has turned into a story about a little girl with a Little Hood of all colors: navy blue or green. Among a long list of rewritten tales we have chosen to study five. The first tale is taken from the collection entitled Contes à l'envers by Dumas and Moissard: Le Petit Chaperon bleu marine (Little Navy Blue Riding Hood) This tale written in 2009 represents a clear illustration of the transfigured tale. The other four tales we have chosen are written by Geoffroy de Pennart. Through the study of these tales, we shall see how the character of the wolf has changed from the wretched wolf of Perrault. Le loup est revenue (The Wolf Has Returned) published in 1994 presents all the animals of the traditional tales that are afraid of the return of the wolf. Le loup sentimental (The Sentimental Wolf) released in 1998, features several famous characters from the classical tales and creates unexpected links between all these characters. The third tale is Chapeau rond rouge (Red Round Hat) published in 2004; this tale is a parody of the classic tale. Finally Le retour de Chapeau rond rouge (The Return of Red Round Hat) released in 2011 is a contemporary tale that refers to three previous tales: The Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Red Round Hat. Through the reading of these five modern tales we can follow the course of the evolution of the tale. This study examines the evolution of the classic tale, its rewriting and intertextual correlations in the tale of Little Red Riding Hood. By analyzing adapted and rewritten modern tales, this research attempts to demonstrate that a rewritten tale is read only in light of the knowledge of the original tale. Inverted, transfigured or mixed, these tales offer the reader a great pleasure. The audience enjoys reading these texts full of humor and references winks compared to the classic tale. The role of heroes is often reversed in modern tales and morality does not remain the same. Thanks to this reading of the second degree of the rewritten tale, children discover and deepen their gaze in regards to the modern world.

Kloppers, Hanmari 14 July 2006 (has links)
ENGLISH: In this study a proposal is made for the creation of an interdisciplinary musical for the senior phase (Grades 7-9). The point of departure for this musical is the dynamic interaction that exists between fairy tales and music. In preliminary research by the writer, this interaction is formulated as the theory of integration. In This MMus dissertation the theory of integration is linked to the curriculum by means of storytelling. The narrative elements of film music are examined. The work of the film producer, Walt Disney, as synonym for the combination of music, fairy tales, film and storytelling, serves as an example for the creation of the musical. Improvisation material, in terms of the phases and motifs of the chosen fairy tale, forms the basis for the creation of music for the musical. The mutual support that comes about between the fairy tale and the music, enhances the educational value of this project. The creation of this musical presents possibilities for successful curriculum integration. / Dissertation (M Mus (Music Education))--University of Pretoria, 2006. / Music / unrestricted

Gerber, Riaan January 2014 (has links)
In this particular research project the narratives and experiences of parents within reconstituted families have been the subject of reflective thought, alluding to the possible influence of the classic fairy tale or fable on these experiences. Aspects which were touched on in the research included the general validity of discussions on parenting experiences in reconstituted families, while reflecting on these parents’ ability to confide and relate their experiences openly and frankly in a society where the nuclear family is often seen as the ‘ideal family’. Cognisance was taken too of the possibility that parents were reticent in voicing their experiences so as not to enforce prevalent generalisations. Furthermore, research was undertaken to examine alternative parenting narratives and methods by which these narratives could be heard so as to minimise misconceptions and labels on parenting in reconstituted families. Attention was also paid to the role that the church and fellow-believers and brethren have in aiding the often marginalised voice of non-nuclear families to be heard. / Thesis (PhD)--University of Pretoria, 2015. / Practical Theology / Unrestricted
