Utilização de contos de fadas e atividades simbólicas na compreensão de crianças vítimas de violência / The utilization of fairy-tales and symbolic activities for the understanding of children victims of violence

Alves, Heliana Castro 28 February 2007 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 1639.pdf: 2779077 bytes, checksum: 0cf128ae893e5fa234bb36b6ce01c64b (MD5) Previous issue date: 2007-02-28 / Universidade Federal de Sao Carlos / Based on an ecological perspective from a multifactorial analysis of the domestic violence phenomenon and on theories that consider the importance of the Fairy-Tales in the infantile emotional development, this research was proposed with a group of children who were victims of domestic violence. The main objectives of this study were: describing the impact of Fairy-Tales narratives at the emergence of latent emotional contents from the playful sequential actions and from the verbalizations of the participants; setting considerations on the context in which the child grows up from an ecological view about the phenomenon and identifying elements that offer evidences of contributions of a storytelling program and of playful activities for the emotional development of children in a violence context. The research had a qualitative character, being itself as a case study. Semi-structured interviews were done with the people who took care of the children and with people legally in charge of them and interventions with the group such as sessions of storytelling and symbolic activities took place. To collect the data, the sessions were recorded on video and, as a complementary form of register, a Field Diary was made. The interviews with the adults legally in charge of the children were recorded on audio. To analyze and treat the data, a content and thematic analysis system was used, being the texts and images dismembered in register units. As theoretical basis, the researcher used the ecological theory of human development by Urie Bronfenbrenner, taking into consideration the process of exchange that occur inside and between the systems built by the individuals, and the psychoanalysis of the understanding of the oral narratives impact at the emotional development of each child. The results of the research pointed to the familiar microsystem (intergenerational transmission), exosystem, mesosystem and macrosystem as risk factors to the development of children and to the domestic violence installation. In relation to the storytelling activities, the imaginary world was structured around the elements offered by the tales, and, at the same time, it condensed some aspects of the child s life story. The compiled data suggest that the oral narratives can act as a support, mixing in themselves the elements repertory that awakes in children the contents related to the personal experiences.

Fernandes Júnior, Marcos 26 September 2011 (has links)
This work aims to analyze the behavior of some characters in the fairy tales of Irish writer Oscar Fingal O Flahertie Wills Wilde (1854-1900), more specifically the five ones those consists the work The Happy Prince and other stories, from 1888. We intend to verify why art s strength comes from the elements that compound it, whereas ideological units, plurissignificant and multifaceted, are only likely to be analyzed when facing other elements, containing contexts and users of such contexts. In Wilde s fairy tales this aesthetic sense prevails and the characters tend to acquire multiple forms and a lot of meanings. Therefore, if we could consider the literary work as an ideological system it is essential to emphasize the characters who are inserted in that system, as well look into it so that one can delimitate its constituting elements, identifying whether its actions are right products of criticism and reflection about the facts or if they are motivated by instincts inherent to rationality, and proceeding to the analysis of these characters not only concerning themselves but also concerning the other characters, to the space they share, the time offered to them and above all, the diegesis which captures them. Thus, Oscar Wilde becomes a valuable importance author to verify all these concepts, due to the variety of his gallery of literary types and due to his ironic and acute aesthetic sense that will lead to the analysis of the characters constitution and motivation of their possible, unstoppable sometimes, subversive posture.

Fernanda Romano Soares 15 August 2011 (has links)
The objective of this research was to verify the impact of therapeutic fairytale workshops with children in the service flow and in the lives of the participants in the context of the teaching clinics as well as evaluating if the projective instrument CAT-A contributes as a way to measure intervention results and if so, in which way. The intention is to contribute to the development of the ethical-theoretical-practical knowledge in relation to a specific type of psychological service that allows for a larger amount of spots for the children who seek the clinic. A therapeutic workshop with the use of fairytales was conduced with 5 children between the ages of 6 and 7 that were waiting for their psychological appointment in the teaching clinic. An interview with the parents was done initially to investigate the reasons of the appointment, general aspects of the children and their relationships. In the first individual session with each child the CAT-A was applied. Then the 11 weekly workshops were done, using 9 different fairytales. In each session one of the tales was read in three fragments. The children were asked to draw their favourite thing form each fragment and explain it. The chosen tales comprehended different development stages. After the conclusion of the workshop, the CAT-A was reapplied individually, followed by a quick feedback on the workshop. The parents also had a feedback session, clarifying doubts. The results show an amplification of the initial complaint brought by the parents and it was clear, through their reports, that the initiative contributed to the enhancement of the childrens resources to handle their conflicts. It was possible to handle a larger number of clients, which in turn had a positive impact on the waiting line. The CAT-A helped in the clarification of the complaint through the access of latent content that reflect the childs experience and functioning, allowing for a more global approach of the presented problem. The results indicate this kind of work could be adopted more frequently by institutions for the benefit of their own service, of the students and especially of the community in need of care institutions. It is important to mention the need of other studies like this one, with larger groups to verify the application of the obtained results

No universo das histórias: oficinas de redação e criatividade / In the universe of stories: composition and creativity workshops

Andrea Pacetta de Arruda Botelho 23 November 1998 (has links)
Outlines a pedagogical experience, within a psychological approach, that took place in workshops, which developed activities intending to offer tools to story writing – with the aim of promoting a building of knowledge concerning writing in general –, exploring mainly the world of folk magic tales. Six children aging from 9 to 11 attended to 25 workshops over two years. They took part in activities such as body movements, consulting books, listening to stories narrated and from books, practicing creative writing techniques, making handicraft etc. Analises the process mainly refering to two outline themes: “writing performance” and “interest”. Concerning to the first, observes that all the children showed a good development in writing stories. Concerning to the latter, presents data that indicate that interest in reading and writing in general increased and, in relation to the proposed activities, it was high most part of the time, having oscilated in some moments. Grounded in the theoretical referencies of Jean Piaget and Donald Winnicott, considers all the activities and evaluates their efficiency in captivating the interest, attention and the envolvement of the participants, indicating the successes and failures – concerning the latter, criticises the methodology employed and indicates other possible solutions. Concludes that the interest is reduced when an activity relegates the active and significant doing of the children; inversely, the involvement is great with interactive works, in groups, and in activities in which the importance of play is considered.

« Pinocchio, un enfant parallèle » : La question du père et du fils dans l’œuvre de Carlo Collodi (1826-1890) / “A parallel child” : The question of father and son in the works of Carlo Collodi (1826-1890)

Poitrenaud-Lamesi, Brigitte 05 December 2009 (has links)
Carlo Collodi (1826-1890) playwright, novelist, short story writer and storyteller was, at his death, known primarily as a talented journalist and author of popular books for children. Paradoxically, Collodi’s work, according to his most famous biographers, had been reduced to a single book: Le avventure di Pinocchio. Storia di un burattino (1883), an isolated masterpiece "written by chance" (in the words of P. Pancrazi). Recent philological research - in particular the work of Daniela Marcheschi - reinserts Pinocchio into a literary corpus that functioned as a creative writing workshop, in which the stylistic and thematic tools subordinate to the main work were developed. An intertextual study and an anthropological approach to the complete works of Collodi show that Pinocchio is the culmination of an existential search: Collodi’s design, adorned with the magic of fairy tales, is to explore the limits of the animate and the inanimate and raise the question of the integrity of the human being. Textual analysis shows that what the author attempted with Pinocchio is a project of reproduction or regeneration, a sort of engendering without the mother: the puppet he created is not initially a new being, but rather a duplicate of the old man rejuvenated. That is why "the parallel child " to which Collodi gives life stems not from the desire for traditional paternity, but from the impossible dream of refusing the mortal destiny of man.

'Becoming animal': motifs of hybridity and liminality in fairy tales and selected contemporary artworks

Wasserman, Minke January 2015 (has links)
‘Becoming Animal’: Motifs of Hybridity and Liminality in Fairy Tales and Selected Contemporary Artworks serves as a theoretical examination of the concept of the hybrid. My research unpacks the liminal aspect of hybridity, locating the hybrid in the imaginative world of popular fairy tales, folk lore and mythology. In my accompanying MFA exhibition, Becoming(s), I explore these motifs through an installation of mixed-media sculptures which are based on the hybrid creatures that populated the fantasy world of my childhood. The written component of my MFA submission will relate directly to my professional art practise, developing it further and situating it within a relevant context. In my mini-thesis I will consider the liminal in relation to the ‘animal turn’ in contemporary art, with a particular focus on relevant artists working with the motifs of hybridity, such as Nandipha Mntambo, Jane Alexander and Kiki Smith. The ‘animal turn’ is a term used by Kari Weil (2010: 3) to describe a contemporary interest in issues of the nonhuman, and in the ways that the relationship between humans and nonhumans is marked by “difference, otherness and power”. Of key concern to my research will be Giles Deleuze and Felix Guattari’s concept of ‘becoming animal’. Rather than describing a transition from one stable state to another, ‘becoming animal’ suggests a radical dissolution of boundaries – not just between species (such as ‘human’ and ‘animal’) but between any essentialising binaries. As such, ‘becoming animal’ suggests a conception of identity as being fluid and mutable, rather than stable and fixed.

Not What it Seems : An Ecocritical Study of the Transformations in Beauty and the Beast and Nutcracker and the Mouse King

Tiger, Louise January 2020 (has links)
The following essay investigates the artificial magic environment in two fairy tales with similar tropes and themes, to find out if the magic is necessary for the growth of the characters. The ecocritical movement constitutes the essay’s theoretical background in order to shine a light on the physical nature that has been slightly neglected when it comes to discerning the inner nature of the heroines in these stories. By employing theoretical concepts from animal studies, the essay also examines the relationship between animals and humans for the purpose of including the portrayal of animals in an expanded view on nature. The major conclusion of the essay is that magic can both help and hinder the protagonist’s journey to maturity. Furthermore, these fairy tales portray different methods of downgrading animals, but they also challenge an anthropocentric view of the world.

Genderová analýza knižního souboru Pohádky pod polštář / Gender analysis of the file Fairy tales under the pillow

Špitálská, Andrea January 2013 (has links)
The diploma thesis analyzes the collection of fairy tales titled Pohádky pod polštář (Fairy Tales to Put Under the Pillow), written by psychologist Zuzana Pospíšilová and illustrated by Katarína Ilkovičová. The collection was published in the Czech Republic in 2012. The individual fairy tales are based on European folklore and adapted for the Czech cultural context. In terms of presentation, the collection is intended as a modern update of the popular children's fairy tale format. My analysis is rooted in feminist theory and feminist cultural and literary studies, as exemplified by authors such as Pam Morris, Simone de Beauvoir, Naomi Wolf and others. The subject of power is analyzed mainly in relation to the writings of Michel Foucault, Judith Butler and Pierre Bourdieu. From this perspective, I have attempted to make an informed criticism of the stereotypical and otherwise discriminatory images of gender present in the fairy tales. On the other hand, I have also recorded the instances in which gender normativity is subverted in the collection. In addition, the thesis attempts to employ an intersectional approach to analyzing the selected text, taking into account other categories significant to the dominant social order including not only gender, but also race/ethnicity, class, sexual identity,...
