Étude de situations de validation en algèbre vécues par des élèves de 13 et 14 ans à l’aide et sans l’aide d’un forum électronique

L’un des buts de l’apprentissage des mathématiques est le développement du raisonnement et celui-ci participe à la compréhension des mathématiques. Très liée au raisonnement, la notion de preuve est aussi fondamentale à l’apprentissage des mathématiques, car elle permet d’établir la validité d’arguments mathématiques et de conférer un sens à différents concepts à travers l’explication de l’organisation logique du travail effectué. Toutefois, malgré l’importance accordée au développement de différents types de raisonnements, plusieurs élèves éprouvent des difficultés lorsqu’ils sont appelés à concevoir ou à évaluer des preuves. Dans le cadre de cette recherche, nous avons étudié l’impact de l’utilisation d’un forum électronique sur le développement d’habiletés de validation algébrique ainsi que sur le développement d’habiletés en lien avec l’évaluation de preuves en algèbre chez des élèves de 13 et 14 ans du Nouveau-Brunswick et du Québec. Les résultats laissent supposer que l’utilisation du forum électronique encourage le passage des preuves pragmatiques aux preuves intellectuelles, en plus de favoriser une utilisation adéquate des règles du débat mathématique. / One of the goals of learning mathematics is the development of reasoning, because it is essential to understand mathematics. Closely related to reasoning, the notion of proof is also fundamental in the learning of mathematics, because it allows students to establish the validity of mathematical arguments and put a sense on various concepts through logical explanation of their work. However, in spite of the importance placed on the development of the capacity to reason mathematically, several students are confronted with difficulties during the development or the evaluation of proofs. This study examined the impact of the use of a discussion forum on the development of algebraic validation skills as well as on the development of skills linked with the evaluation of the proof process in algebra with 13 and 14 year old students from New Brunswick and Quebec (Canada). The results lead us to believe that the use of the electronic forum encourages the passage from pragmatic proofs to intellectual proofs. It also seems to facilitate an adequate use of the rules of the mathematical debate.

Cette recherche s’inscrit dans le domaine des technologies de l’information et de la communication pour l’enseignement (Tice) et a pour objet d’étudier l’articulation du présentiel et de la distance dans le contexte capverdien. Elle vise la compréhension de cette modalité d’apprentissage hybride. Un dispositif permettant aux étudiants d’échanger et de collaborer autour de tâches collaboratives a été mis en place.Le cadre théorique fait référence au socioconstructivisme, à la communication médiée par ordinateur (CMO) et à l’écrit comme fondement de base pour cette recherche. Celle-ci a une visée compréhensive et praxéologique, l’objectif général et à terme étant d’apporter des éclairages permettant d’appréhender plus facilement les Tice en vue de les intégrer efficacement dans des formations en français autorisant l’usage des outils technologiques. La démarche que nous avons adoptée est axée sur une approche ethnométhodologique. Les données obtenues ont été analysées quantitativement et qualitativement puis, elles ont été croisées selon le principe de la triangulation (Van Der Maren, 1997).Cette recherche propose quelques éléments de réponse. L’usage des outils technologiques facilite les échanges entre les étudiants, leur permet de co-construire leur apprentissage, autorise des rétroactions sur les formes linguistiques. Elle facilite l’encadrement et l’accompagnement des étudiants. Les conditions technologiques et techniques sont également importantes. / This research is in the field of information technology and communication for teaching (ITC) and aims at studying the joint-face and distance in the Cape Verdean context. It is in order to understand this form of blended learning that a device allowing students to share and collaborate around collaborative tasks has been established.The theoretical framework refers to social constructivism, communication mediated by computer (CMC) and written as basic foundation for this search. It has a comprehensive and praxeological reference, the overall objective is to provide insights for easier understanding of the ITC to effectively integrate the use of technological tools in training in teaching French. The approach we have adopted is based on an ethnomethodological approach. The data obtained were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively, then they were crossed according to the principle of triangulation (Van Der Maren, 1997).This research provides some answers. The use of technological tools facilitates exchanges between students, allowing them to co- construct their learning, and enables feedback on linguistic forms. It also facilitates management and support to students. Technological and technical conditions are also important.

[pt] Esta pesquisa investiga o suporte computacional para discussão estruturada em rede realizada em fórum de discussão. As ferramentas de fórum geralmente estruturam a discussão em árvore através de uma hierarquia de mensagens encadeadas. A utilização de uma estrutura mais complexa do que a árvore implica em dificuldades de participação. A leitura torna-se mais difícil, pela ausência da linearidade; a escrita torna-se mais difícil dado a maior flexibilidade de associação. Esta dificuldade com o uso de ferramentas com discurso estruturado em rede já foi relatada na literatura. A hipótese aqui investigada é que, dado um suporte computacional, os participantes do fórum conseguem participar adequadamente da discussão estruturada em rede. Entende-se que ocorre participação adequada quando o participante consegue entender as associações entre as mensagens (processo de leitura) e postar uma nova mensagem associada à discussão (processo de escrita). A solução proposta foi o uso do mecanismo de referências múltiplas e a ferramenta gráfica para visualização e construção da rede de mensagens, sendo implementados no serviço Conferência no ambiente AulaNet. Para avaliar a solução proposta, foram realizadas algumas sessões de fóruns com alunos de graduação e pósgraduação em Informática. Nestas sessões, variou-se a estruturação, a visualização e a forma de construção do discurso com o objetivo de analisar a influência na participação. Do estudo de caso realizado, concluiu-se que, apesar das dificuldades identificadas, os participantes conseguiram acompanhar a discussão e encadear as mensagens, o que indica a viabilidade do uso da estruturação em rede. Também se concluiu que o treinamento em ferramentas gráficas para a geração do discurso possibilita superar as dificuldades decorrentes da maior complexidade estrutural do discurso. / [en] This works presents an investigation regarding the computational support for net structured forum discussions. In forums, the discussion is usually structured on a tree format through hierarchically connected messages. The use of a more complex structure than a tree indicates some difficulties for the participants. It is more difficult to read, due to the lack of a linear structure, and to write, due to the possibility of more flexible associations among messages. The hypothesis being investigated is that, given a specific computational support, the participants of a forum will have an adequate participation in the net structured discussion; an adequate participation happens when a participant can understand the associations among messages (reading process) or when a new message is posted with associations in the discussion (writing process). The proposed solution was the usage of a multiple reference mechanism and the visualization and the way to build the forum net structure; these tools were implemented on the Conference Service of AulaNet environment. To investigate the proposed solution some forum sessions with Computer Science graduate and pos-graduate students were conducted. In these sessions, the forum discussion structure, its visualization and the way the discussion was built were varied with the aim at analyzing the influence of the student participation. From the case study conducted it was concluded that, despite the identified difficulties, the participants managed to follow the discussion and posted messages with associations, which indicates the viability of net structured foruns. Other conclusion was that the training with graphical tools to generate the net structured discussion is useful to eliminate some of the difficulties that is present on the more complex structured discussion.

[pt] Nesta tese são investigadas ferramentas de suporte à coordenação de fóruns de discussão de cursos a distância. A pesquisa é fundamentada na aprendizagem colaborativa e do Modelo 3C de Colaboração e utiliza a pesquisaação como método de pesquisa. Num fórum realizado como uma atividade colaborativa, a aprendizagem ocorre principalmente através das trocas de mensagens entre os aprendizes, o que demanda coordenação. A coordenação nesta tese é entendida como um das 3 dimensões da colaboração evidenciadas no Modelo 3C: comunicação, coordenação e cooperação. Os resultados desta tese, que incluem dados, análises, procedimentos, reflexões e implementação dos serviços e funcionalidades investigados, foram obtidos após 3 anos de uma pesquisa- ação. Na pesquisa-ação, o pesquisador conduz a pesquisa realizando ações sucessivas que busquem reduzir um problema específico em um ambiente real. Nesta tese, o ambiente real é o curso Tecnologias de Informação Aplicadas à Educação da PUC-Rio e o problema identificado é a dificuldade de coordenação dos fóruns do curso. A ação é a disponibilização de ferramentas de suporte à coordenação no AulaNet, o ambiente de ensino e aprendizagem para web utilizado no curso. A característica comum das ferramentas investigadas é a de disponibilizar informações sobre o andamento do fórum sem que seja necessário fazer uso da interface web para desktop do AulaNet: para isto, grafos, gráficos, dados estatísticos e notificações são apresentados através de PDAs, celulares e janelas pop-up no desktop. A avaliação das ferramentas desenvolvidas é feita a cada semestre: avaliando-se como aprendizes e mediadores usam as ferramentas, melhorias ou novas ferramentas são propostas e investigadas no semestre seguinte, num processo cíclico. / [en] In this thesis tools for the coordination support of discussion forums in a distance course are investigated. The research is conducted from the point of view of collaborative learning and the 3C Collaboration Model and uses action research as a method. In a forum carried out as a collaborative activity, learning takes place mainly through the exchange of messages among learners, which demands coordination. Coordination in this thesis is understood as one of the 3 dimensions of collaboration as made evident in the 3C Model: communication, coordination and cooperation. The results of this thesis, which include data, analyzes, procedures, reflections and implementation of the services and functionalities investigated, were obtained in the course of 3 years of action research. In action research the researcher performs successive actions aiming at minimizing a specific problem in a real environment. In this thesis, the real environment is the Information Technologies Applied to Education course at PUC-Rio and the problem identified is a difficulty in the coordination of the course`s forums. The action is the offering of support tools for coordination in the AulaNet, the web-based education and learning environment used in the course. The common characteristic of the tools investigated is the offering of information on the progress of the forum without the need to use the AulaNet`s desktop web interface: with this objective, graphs, statistical data and notifications are presented through PDAs, cell- phone SMSs and pop-up windows in the desktop. An assessment of the tools developed is carried out every semester: through the evaluation of the use of the tools by learners and mediators, improvements or new tools are proposed for the following semester, in a cyclical process.

We had analyzed the forum of a semipresential discipline of the Letras course of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. On the analysis of the forum was observed the linguistic marks that characterizes courtesy/politeness, the usage of an adapted language to the interlocutors that has participated in the forum and the interaction between them. With specific objectives, on this research we propose: to identify linguistic aspects that are characterized as courtesy and politeness present on the educational forum; to verify what kind of positive politeness are used by the interlocutors and how the face preservation occurs; to verify what kind of strategies to the negative politeness are used by the interlocutors and what occur when there isn t a use of face preservation strategies. The theoretician framework of this research is anchored, basically, on the Grice s (1975), Brown & Levinson s (1987), Rosa s (1992), Marcuschi s (2003) studies and in studies about the usage of emoticons that aims the categories analysis: face preservation strategies by the conversational markers and attenuation in special, positive politeness strategies and emoticons. On the analyzed categories we can detach the linguistic marks, the usage of the adapted language to all interlocutors that participates in the forum and the reciprocity between them. The gotten results points to the usage of the politeness by the interlocutors on a collaborative context and of interaction that favors the face preservation on the educational forums / Neste trabalho, temos por objetivo analisar o gênero fórum em ambiente de aprendizagem EAD - que favorece discussões e troca de conhecimento entre os participantes. Analisamos fóruns de uma disciplina semipresencial do curso de Letras da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. Na análise dos fóruns observou-se as marcas lingüísticas que caracterizam cortesia/polidez, o emprego de uma linguagem adaptada aos interlocutores que participaram dos fóruns e a interação entre eles. Como objetivos específicos, nesta pesquisa, propusemos: identificar aspectos lingüísticos que se caracterizam como cortesia e polidez presentes nos fóruns educacionais; verificar que estratégias para polidez positiva são utilizadas pelos interlocutores e como ocorre a preservação das faces. O arcabouço teórico da nossa pesquisa está ancorado, basicamente, nos estudos de Grice (1975), Brown & Levinson (1987), Rosa (1992), Marcuschi (2003) e em estudos sobre o uso dos emoticons que visam a análise das categorias: estratégias de preservação das faces por meio dos marcadores conversacionais e em especial atenuação, estratégias de polidez positiva e emoticons. Nas categorias analisadas destacamos as marcas lingüísticas, o emprego da linguagem adaptada a todos os interlocutores que participam dos fóruns e a reciprocidade entre eles. Os resultados obtidos apontam o emprego da polidez pelos interlocutores num contexto colaborativo e de interação que favorece a preservação das faces nos fóruns educacionais

Les développements architecturaux à Leptis Magna pendant l'époque sévérienne (193 – 235) / The architectural developments at Leptis Magna during the Severan period (193 – 235)

Leptis Magna a joué un rôle essentiel dans l'histoire de l'Afrique du Nord. Ce rôle se base sur des données économiques de la ville et de la bonne gestion de ses élites, qui sont ouvertes à la politique de romanisation en adoptant les coutumes et les modèles de l'architecture romaine. Parmi les élites les plus célèbres, celle de la famille des Spetimii : Septime Sévère qui accéda au trône en 193 après J-.C, sous son règne Leptis Magna atteint son apogée et devient la Rome Africaine, en y édifiant les bâtiments sévériens qui font l’objet de cette étude. Le choix de ce sujet se justifie essentiellement par l’importance de l'urbanisme lepcitain et ses caractéristiques à l’époque sévérienne. Qui ont généré des travaux foisonnants en plusieurs langues. Un bilan est désormais nécessaire qui aura pour objectif de mettre en évidence l’importance et l’originalité de cette phase sévérienne: aussi bien pour la ville elle-même que pour l’idéologie impériale, qui s’est manifestée ici de manière éclatante. Nous essayerons ici de connaitre pour quelles raisons Septime Sévère accorda toute son attention à construire ces édifices somptueux pendant une courte période. Parce qu'elle était sa ville natale ? Où bien, présentait-elle un bénéfice avantageux pour Rome ? L'intérêt de ces monuments grandioses datés de l’époque romaine nécessite une recherche historico-scientifique au niveau du tissu urbain : connaitre leur fonctionnement et leur rôle dans la société romaine; étudier leurs composants esthétiques en essayant de trouver les points communs entre eux; également mesurer l’amplitude de la production artistique et sa relation avec le développement politique et économique de la ville. / Leptis Magna has played a vital role in the history of North Africa.This role is based on the economic data of the city and the good management of its elites who are opened the policy of Romanization by adopting the Roman customs and patterns of Roman architecture. Among elites, most famous are those of the family Septimii which allowed his child, Septimius Severus, came to the throne in 193 AD. Under the reign of this emperor, Leptis Magna reached its peak of prosperity and became the Rome of Africa by setting up a massive constructions program: “The Severan Buildings” are the subject of this study. The choice of this subject is essentially justified by the importance of planning lepcitain characteristics at the Severan period, which generated abundant work in multiple languages. Now an assessment is necessary to highlight the importance and originality of this Severan phase: both for the city itself as well as for imperial ideology, which is conveyed brilliantly. We will try here to know why Septimius Severus gave his full attention to build these magnificent buildings in a short period. Perhaps because it was his hometown? Or was the town an advantageous asset for Rome? The beauty of these great monuments dating from the Roman era requires a historical and scientific research in the urban fabric: To know their operation and their role in Roman society; to study their aesthetic components and to find the common points between them, also to measure the amplitude of the artistic production and its relationships with the political and economic development of the city.

We start with the understanding that the Local Development is another of the expressions constructed by capitalism as a social-theoretical and ideo-political answer to their crises - exacerbated by the restructuring of production, post-1970s around the world. Thus, the Local Development is to serve the interests of neoliberalism. Put another way, the Local Development becomes functional responses of neoliberalism and meets the needs of the restructuration of capital in its phase globalized. To this end, we built two temporary trends of analysis that express the struggle for meaning in the field of Local Development. The first trend we call Field Hegemonic: Neoconservatism Postmodern can be taken as that built and defended by the UN and subsequently condensed in the concepts of institutions and multilateral agencies through the funding of programs and projects. Used as reference for analysis of this trend DLIS conceptions of methodology, discourse that was dominant in the insertion of Local Development in Brazil by Augusto de Franco. Thus, we intend to confront this trend by focusing the discussion on the theoretical elements that underlie the social rights and state responsibility in facing the Social Issue and their expressions so far stepped up and embodied in the new paradigms expressed in the formulations of the contemporary world grounded in neoliberal and postmodern ideas. The second trend identified by us involves the debate and policy actions present in the midst of the "Social Struggles" in the field of counter-hegemonic opposition to neoliberalism, with significant expression as the World Social Forum. Thus, the field of research included the documentary analysis of research reports produced by NEPEDH, analysis of documents published on the official website of the WSF, magazine articles and books on the subject, besides the report of research conducted by us in Portugal / A presente pesquisa busca apresentar um conjunto de reflexões para subsidiar um debate crítico sobre o Desenvolvimento Local. Partimos da compreensão de que o Desenvolvimento Local é mais uma das expressões construídas pelo capitalismo como resposta teórico-social e ideo-política para suas crises agravadas pela reestruturação produtiva, pós anos 1970 em todo o mundo. Assim, o Desenvolvimento Local vem para atender aos interesses neoliberais. Posto de outra forma, o Desenvolvimento Local se torna funcional às respostas do neoliberalismo e atende as necessidades da reestruturação do capital em sua fase mundializada. Para tal, construímos duas tendências provisórias de análise que expressam a disputa de significados no campo do Desenvolvimento Local. A primeira tendência que denominamos Campo Hegemônico: Neoconservadorismo Pós-moderno pode ser tomada como aquela construída e defendida pela ONU e posteriormente adensada nas concepções das instituições e agências multilaterais através do financiamento de programas e projetos. Utilizamos como referência para análise da presente tendência as concepções da metodologia DLIS, discurso que foi dominante na inserção do Desenvolvimento Local no Brasil através de Augusto de Franco. Dessa forma, pretendemos problematizar a presente tendência, centrando o debate nos elementos teóricos que fundamentam os direitos sociais e a responsabilidade do Estado no enfrentamento da Questão Social e suas expressões tão largamente intensificadas e consubstanciadas nos novos paradigmas expressos nas formulações do mundo contemporâneo alicerçado no ideário neoliberal e pós-moderno. A segunda tendência por nós identificada compreende o debate e as ações políticas presentes no bojo das Lutas Sociais no Campo Contra-hegemônico em oposição ao neoliberalismo, tendo como expressão significativa o Fórum Social Mundial. Dessa maneira, o campo de pesquisa compreendeu a análise documental dos relatórios de pesquisa produzidos pelo NEPEDH, análise dos documentos publicados no site oficial do FSM, artigos de revistas e livros sobre o tema, além do relatório da pesquisa realizada por nós em Portugal

Défunts, pratiques et espaces funéraires au cours du Haut-Empire dans la civitas de Forum lulli / Dead people, burial practices and funeral spaces of the civitas of Forum Iulii during the Roman Empire

Cette thèse étudie, dans toute leur complexité et leur variabilité, les pratiques funéraires au sein du territoire de Forum Iulii (commune actuelle de Fréjus), l’une des civitas de la Province de Narbonnaise définie par Auguste à la fin du Ier siècle av. n. è. Il s’inscrit sur une période chronologique longue riche en bouleversements socio-culturels (Ier s.- IVe s. de n.è.), propre à révéler l’évolution de ces pratiques et ainsi d’appréhender la relation qu’entretiennent les individus et/ou les groupes sociaux avec leurs traditions funéraires. Ce cadre spatio-temporel est également choisi pour sa cohérence et sa richesse documentaire. L’étude est basée sur une approche interdisciplinaire,entre archéologie et anthropologie biologique. Les paramètres étudiés, selon cette double perspective, participent conjointement à une lecture individuelle puis globale des sépultures et des ensembles funéraires afin de restituer les pratiques et l’influence des facteurs socio-culturels sur le traitement des morts. Le recours à ces deux disciplines garantit une compréhension optimale des systèmes de représentations sociales propres à une communauté face au décès de l’un de ses membres. L’analyse des restes osseux humains (âge au décès, sexe, état sanitaire), mais également celle des restes matériels (ensemble de dépôts associés, architecture de la sépulture, mode d’implantation traitement du corps, etc.) constituent les outils incontournables de l’archéologie de la mort qui vise alors à contribuer à une meilleure connaissance des populations antiques grâce à une approche bioculturelle. / This study aims to understand, in all their complexity and variability, the funerary practices of the territory of Forum Iulii (Fréjus), one of the civitas of the Gallia Narbonnensis, defined by Auguste at the end of the 1st century. BC. It is part of a long chronological period rich in socio-cultural upheavals (1st-4th century AD), wich reveals the evolution of these practices, and thus allow us to apprehend the relationship between individuals and / or social groups with their funerary traditions. This spatio-temporal framework is also chosen for its coherence and documentary richness. The study is based on an archaeothanatology approach, between archeology and biological anthropology. The studied parameters, considered in the both perspective, participate together in an individual, and then global reading of burials and funerary spaces in order to return practices, funerary rites, but also the influence of socio-cultural factors on the treatment of the dead corpses.The use of these two disciplines insures an optimal understanding of the social systems and religious representations specific to a community confronted with the death of one of its members. Demokrati och sociala rörelser : En diskussion om demokratisynen hos deltagare vid European Social Forum 2008

<p>Det här är en uppsats som behandlar demokratisynen hos deltagare vid European Social Forum 2008 i Malmö. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om det finns samband mellan erfarenheter av politiska handlingar, identifiering med den globala rättviserörelsen och synen på hur demokratiska beslut i allmänhet bör fattas. Individer inom den globala rättviserörelsen kan ses som handlande subjekt inom utvecklingen av demokratiska system, då rörelsen formulerar en kritik mot globalisering och odemokratiska beslutsformer och strävar efter att möjliggöra en annan form av globalisering och en annan form av demokrati. Teoretiskt tar undersökningen avstamp i tre idealtypiska demokratiformer: deltagardemokrati, deliberativ demokrati och representativ demokrati, som har tre skilda utgångspunkter när det gäller former för beslutsprocesser. Även politiskt handlande går att skilja åt teoretiskt, i form av kollektivt och individuellt politiskt handlande. Genom en statistisk analys i form av faktoranalys och regression i verktyget SPSS har jag visat att erfarenheter påverkar synen på demokrati. En deltagardemokratisk syn främjas bland annat av en stark identifiering med den globala rättviserörelsen, erfarenhet av konfrontativa politiska handlingar och erfarenhet av deltagardemokratiska mötesformer. En deliberativ demokratisyn främjas bland annat av en stark identifiering med den globala rättviserörelsen, erfarenhet av konfrontativa politiska handlingar och erfarenhet av deliberativt demokratiska mötesformer. En representativ demokratisyn främjas av erfarenhet av rörelse- och föreningsaktivitet på europeisk nivå och erfarenhet av representativt och informativt politiskt handlande. Resultaten visar också att individers demokratisyn är komplex och ofta innehåller element från flera olika idealtypiska demokratimodeller.</p> / <p>This is a thesis about views on democracy among participants at the European Social Forum in Malmö 2008. The aim is to study if there are any statistical connections between experience of political actions, identification with the global justice movement and the view on democracy. The theoretical frames of the thesis are twofold: theories on democracy and theories on political actions. Democracy is divided into three different systems: participatory democracy, deliberative democracy and representative democracy. Political actions are divided into collective and individual political actions. By carrying out a statistical analysis through regression and factor analysis am I able to confirm that an experience of political actions have a statistical influence on an individual view on democracy. A participatory view is influenced by a strong identification with the global justice movement, experiences of confrontation as political method and experiences of participatory ways of making political decisions. A deliberative view is influenced by a strong identification with the global justice movement, experiences of confrontation as political method and experiences of deliberative ways of making decisions. A representative view on democracy is influenced by experiences of European movement- or association activity and experiences of representative and informative political actions. The results show that individual’s view on democracy is a question of great complexity and is often containing elements from different democratic ideals.</p>
