Des enseignements techniques aux sciences de l’ingénieur : Analyse didactique et historique du processus de disciplinarisation depuis la Libération / From the industrial technology to the engineering sciences : Didactic and historical analysis since 1945

Hamon, Christian 19 June 2012 (has links)
The PhD presents and argues that the industrial technology is becoming an academicsubject. In high schools, the contemporary changes bring to light the final phase. The didactic and historical analysis, mainly led by the study of official regulations and speeches, tracks down the evolutions and the changes, by means of a model of examination of the school disciplines focusing on the missions, the organization (administrative and educational) and the education (the programs and the methods).Three main periods are identified: 1) the configuration of the technical education (1945-1958), its development and its structure; 2) the blending of the technology in high schools (1959-1984) by the unification of the education system; 3) the technology as an academic subject (1985-2012) from the primary school to the university, newly named the engineering sciences. This process comes within socio-political, economic and institutional context and is mainly defined by its missions of increasing qualifications. The examination of the functional analysis tools, employed to study the technical systems, reveals the elaboration of teachable contents. The contents changes, from the machines organ to the multitechnological systems, have been built one after the other, according to eight paradigms. On the one hand, the PhD reveals the process of "disciplinarization" of the technology and opens the discussion on the available researches about others disciplines. On the other hand, the PhD provides an original history of the technical education, the necessary sources for new researches and for understanding and supporting the contemporary changes.

Étude des sollicitations dynamiques induites par un fluide lourd au passage d'une singularité / Study of the dynamic excitation induced by dense fluids flowing through piping singularities

Baramili Fleury De Amorim, André 20 December 2017 (has links)
The flow of dense fluids within thin-walled piping systems may lead to significant levels of Flow-Induced Vibration, mainly in the vicinities of singularities such as obstacles inserted into the flow, sudden changes of cross-sectional area or flow direction. This study focuses on the analysis and reduced-order modelling of the vibrational source associated with the turbulent flow of liquids through a 90° elbow.A mixed experimental-computational approach is undertaken. A closed water loop containing a transparent elbow was designed in order to allow for fluid velocity measurements inside the singularity. To this purpose, planar and stereoscopic Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) were employed. Wall pressure fluctuations and structural vibrations were measured simultaneously. Several flow configurations were tested in order to obtain a large coupled database linking the flow to the dynamic excitation, and then to the vibration response of the structure. In parallel, the unsteady water flow through the elbow was computed using Large-Eddy Simulation (LES). The fluid simulation allowed for a detailed study of the turbulent flow through the singularity and the unsteady pressure field induced on the piping walls. Finally, a set of statistical tools was applied to both experimental and computational data in order to propose a reduced-order model of the transfer function that links the tur-bulent flow to the dynamic excitation of the elbowed piping structure.

Développement d'une stratégie d'identification des paramètres par recalage de modèle éléments finis à partir de mesures par corrélation d'images : vers l'application à un modèle d'endommagement non local / Development of a parameter identification strategy using Finite Element Model Updating on Digital Image Correlation measurements : towards the application to a non-local model

Bettonte, Francesco 13 November 2017 (has links)
This thesis proposes an identification strategy for plastic behaviour and damage up to the onset of fracture, for an application to ductile metals.A logarithmic finite strain formulation is used to simulate the large deformations undergone by the specimens, while a locking-free non-local formulation allows a mesh independent simulation of the softening behaviour.Digital Image Correlation is used to obtain heterogeneous full-field measurements from tensile tests on notched specimens. The identification strategy is based both on microscopic observations and on a Finite Element Model Updating (FEMU) technique, according to which the parameters are identified by minimizing the discrepancy between experiment and simulation. The discrepancy is quantified both in terms of displacement and force thanks to an appropriate normalization. The application of FEMU is guided using sensitivity analysis. The robustness of the comparison between simulation and measurement is ensured by prescribing measured displacements as boundary conditions for the simulation. The negative effect of the measurement uncertainty is underlined, and an innovative filtering approach is proposed. The proposed strategy is used to identify the materials' parameters of alloy Inconel625. It allows to reproduce the onset of fracture for flat specimens, both in terms of macroscopic response and crack initiation location.

Modélisation de la consommation électrique à partir de grandes masses de données pour la simulation des alternatives énergétiques du futur / Electricity demand modeling using large scale databases to simulate different prospective scenarios

Barbier, Thibaut 22 December 2017 (has links)
Future trend of electricity demand is a key point for sizing both the electricity network and the power plants. In order to forecast future electricity demand, current models mostly use statistical approaches based on past demand measurements and on demographic and economic trends. Because of current context of energy transition which comes along with important changes, future electricity demand is not expected to be similar to past trends. Modeling these changes requires a bottom-up modeling of each contributor to electricity demand. This kind of model is challenging because of the large number of input data required. At the same time, data and information are more and more available. Such availability can be considered both as an asset for modeling and as an important issue because of data heterogeneity. In this context, this dissertation offers an approach to build a bottom-up load curve simulator which enables to simulate prospective scenarii at the scale of France country. Firstly, an assessment, classification, and matching of the large databases explaining the electricity demand have been performed. Then, the electricity demand model has been presented. It has been validated and calibrated on Enedis’ large volumes of electricity demand measurements of medium voltage feeders. Finally, this model has been used to simulate several prospective scenarii in order to improve the electricity distribution network sizing.

Processus auto-interagissants et grandes déviations / Self-interacting processes and large deviations

Dumaz, Laure 07 December 2012 (has links)
This thesis focuses on various aspects of non-Gaussian distributions and processes sharing scaling properties where the exponent 2/3 appears. The two probabilistic objects that we will introduce are: 1) Tracy-Widom distribution: This is the large dimensional limit of the top eigenvalue of random matrices in beta-ensembles. In a joint work with Balint Virag, we studied the asymptotic behavior of its right tail for all positive beta, using tools coming from diffusion analysis, such as the Girsanov formula. 2) The “true self repelling motion” (TSRM): This is a self-interacting process which was introduced by Balint Toth and Wendelin Werner. We have been interested in properties related to trajectories of this motion (large deviations, law of the iterated logarithm) and explicit distribution computations (joint work with Balint Toth). During this study, we have also dealt with questions related to game theory.

Un modèle d'Ising Curie-Weiss de criticalité auto-organisée / A Curie-Weiss model of self-organized criticality

Gorny, Matthias 08 June 2015 (has links)
In their famous 1987 article, Per Bak, Chao Tang and Kurt Wiesenfeld showed that certain complex systems, composed of a large number of dynamically interacting elements, are naturally attracted by critical points, without any external intervention. This phenomenon, called self-organized criticality, can be observed empirically or simulated on a computer in various models. However the mathematical analysis of these models turns out to be extremely difficult. Even models whose definition seems simple, such as the models describing the dynamics of a sandpile, are not well understood mathematically. The goal of this thesis is to design a model exhibiting self-organized criticality, which is as simple as possible, and which is amenable to a rigorous mathematical analysis. To this end, we modify the generalized Ising Curie-Weiss model by implementing an automatic control of the inverse temperature. For a class of symmetric distributions whose density satisfies some integrability conditions, we prove that the sum Sn of the random variables behaves as in the typical critical generalized Ising Curie-Weiss model: the fluctuations are of order n^(3/4) and the limiting law is C exp(- lambda*x^4) dx where C and lambda are suitable positive constants. Our study led us to generalize this model in several directions: the multidimensional case, more general interacting functions, extension to self-interactions leading to fluctuations with order n^(5/6). We also study dynamic models whose invariant distribution is the law of our Curie-Weiss model of self-organized criticality.

Princípio dos grandes desvios para estados de Gibbs-equilíbrio sobre shifts enumeráveis à temperatura zero / Large deviation principle for Gibbs-equilibrium states on contable shifts at zero temperature.

Perez Reyes, Edgardo Enrique 13 March 2015 (has links)
Let $\\Sigma_(\\mathbb)$ be a topologically mixing countable Markov shift with the BIP property over the alphabet $\\mathbb$ and a potential $f: \\Sigma_(\\mathbb) ightarrow \\mathbb$ with summable variation and finite pressure. Under suitable hypotheses, we prove the existence of a large deviation principle for the family of Gibbs states $(\\mu_{\\beta})_{\\beta > 0}$ where each $\\mu_{\\beta}$ is the Gibbs measure associated to the potential $\\beta f$. For do this we generalize some theorems from finite to countable Markov shifts in Ergodic Optimization. This result generalizes the same principle in the case of topologically mixing subshifts over a finite alphabet previously proved by A. Baraviera, A. Lopes and P. Thieullen.

Modernidade concreta: as grandes construtoras e o concreto armado no Brasil, 1920 a 1940 / Concrete modernity: the largest construction companies and the reinforced concrete in Brazil, 1920 a 1940

Freitas, Maria Luiza de 01 June 2011 (has links)
It has been investigated, through the performance of the largest construction companies in Brazil, the development of new building systems, particularly of the reinforced concrete, as a major contributing factor for the modernization of architecture between 1920 and 1940. The objective is to analyze the various construction programs, their technical premises, and their interferences in the architectural achievement, seeking the awareness of a practice based on the constructive truth and on the dialogue between architect and engineer. The starting point is the understanding of a new phenomenon, which has interfered in the way of designing the architecture, changing its notion, and inducing the division between technology and art. The urban modernization had as characteristics: the concentration of the main modern activities in the urban core, the restructure of city spaces to fit them to new labors and changes in environmental perception through the new media, transportation, and infrastructure. The fundamental principals of this scenario allow us to embrace the process of insertion of foreign construction companies in Brazil. For this, the intention is to understand the nature of the knowledge about reinforced concrete in the scope of either, Brazilian engineering or architecture. It is known that three current themes were part of the repertoire of this technical culture: the rationale, the differential use of modern building systems, and the creation of new forms. These specialized firms in the building system were real fields for experimentation and, consequently, of formation of professionals capable of creating a new aesthetic emerged from the technique. The performance of some of these professionals has already been addressed by other works, but a gap remains: the role of construction companies in the modernization of Brazilian architecture. Based on studies of collections, such as the one from Danish contractor Christiani & Nielsen, and construction companies originated in Germany and operating in Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil, this thesis includes, besides the already revealed objectives, the identification of construction professionals barely recognized, and their actions towards the attitudes for Brazilian modernization in the 20th century.

Lugato, Alfredo Minuci. January 2019 (has links)
Abstract: This paper aims to investigate how the credit rating market’s “coloniality of power” limits the brazilian sovereignty, and the existence or not of institutional alternatives that might contribute to face this issue. In order to achieve this, it studies how the Big Three counted on the United States’ economic and political domination to consolidate their market’s domination, and how their knowledges impact assets prices on financial market, settling their “epistemic authorities”. Afterwards, it examines how their knowledges present harmful similiarities to Brazil and other developing countries on, at least, two fieds: sovereign ceiling and rating. Thus, it analyzes how there is an entanglement between economic-political and epistemic domination, typical from “colonial matrix of power”, that limits even more the sovereignty of Brazil and other underdeveloped countries, aside from prejudicing its State’s “ends”. Before this framework, it searches for available institutional alternatives for Brazil to cope with this issue and other problems of the current economic order. / Mestre
