Hellström, Stefan January 2007 (has links)

Evidence and perceptions on GUI test automation : An explorative Multi-Case study

Polepalle, Chahna, Kondoju, Ravi Shankar January 2017 (has links)
Context. GUI-based automation testing is a costly and tedious activity in practice. As GUIs are well-known for being modified and redesigned throughout the development process, the corresponding test scripts are not valid anymore thereby being a hindrance to automation. Hence, substantial effort is invested in maintaining GUI test scripts which often leads to rework or waste due to improper decisions. As a result, practitioners have identified the need for decision support regarding when should GUI automation testing begin and how to make it easier and also identify what are the factors leading to waste in GUI-based automation testing. The current literature provides solutions relating to automation in general and few answers for GUI based-automation testing. Such generic answers might not be applicable to GUI test automation and also industries new to GUI development and testing. Thus, it is necessary to validate if the general solutions are applicable to GUI test automation and find additional answers that are not identified previously from practitioners opinions in an industrial context. Objectives. Capture relevant information regarding the current approach for GUI test automation within the subsystems from a case company. Next, identify the criteria for when to begin automation, testability requirements and factors associated with waste from literature and practice. Methods. We conducted a multiple-case study to explore opinions of practitioners in two subsystems at a Swedish telecommunication industry implementing GUI-automation testing. We conducted a literature review to identify answers from scientific literature prior to performing a case study.A two-phased interview was performed with different employees to collect their subjective opinions and also gather their opinions on the evidence collected from the literature. Later, Bayesian synthesis method was used to combine subjective opinions of practitioners with research-based evidence to produce context-specific results. Results. We identified 12 criteria for when to begin automation, 16 testability requirements and 15 factors associated with waste in GUI test automation. Each of them is classified into categories namely SUT-related,test-process related, test-tool related, human and organizational, environment and cross-cutting. New answers which were not present in the existing literature in the domain of the research are found. Conclusions. On validating the answers found in literature, it was revealed that the answers applicable for software test automation, in general, are valid for GUI automation testing as well. Since we incorporated subjective opinions to produce context specific results, we gained an understanding that every practitioner has their own way of working. Hence, this study aids in developing a common understanding to support informed subjective decisions based on evidence.

Integrating FM/RDS/DAB radio with digital HMI for usage in off-highway vehicles.

Myrgren, Dennis January 2017 (has links)
This thesis aimed to integrate a radio module, for listening to FM and DAB primarily, with CrossControl's display computers. The connection was done by converting the USB signals from the display computer to UART signals that were sent to the radio module. To be able to communicate a communication library was ported from C to Qt, and C++, which was used by a graphical user interface created during the project. This user interface aimed to keep a simplistic and clean look as well as making sure that the user could operate as easily as possible. The different radio standards around the world were reviewed and the analog standard FM radio and the digital standard DAB+ was chosen for testing the capabilities of the radio module, mostly because of their availability in Sweden.

Interface development for environment's monitoring and exploring in the system of RESCUER

Mladenov, Dimitar January 2006 (has links)
This project presents a model of monitoring GUI, built for human search and rescue system, part of RESCUER system. This system is an innovative system with main task decreasing the human involvement in human search and rescue or another type of dangerous missions. In this project we try to make functional and easy to use interface that provide the most necessary information on one screen, such as map of the investigated area, human presence, environment status and status of the most important sensors of the robocar. We also present two already developed interfaces solving similar to ours problem and compare our interface with them and also we present the way of building our GUI on Matlab environment. The final result is an interface, combining the advantages of the other two investigated GUIs and visualises the risk zones, different types of risks that can be expected in the investigated area.

Edition et traduction du manuscrit F de Gui de Warewic : un roman anglo-normand de la fin du XIIe siècle / Edition and translation of the manuscript F Guy of Warwick : an Anglo-Norman romance of the late twelfth century

Lahbib, Franck 24 October 2017 (has links)
Composed in the late twelfth century, the Anglo-Norman romance Guy of Warwick tells themoral transformation of the hero. Having fallen in love with the daughter of his lord, Gui isforced to go on an adventure to acquire fame in combat and thus meet the requirements of theproud Felice who dreads a misalliance. But once married, he leaves her and decides to serveGod to attone for the sins he has committed to seduce and conquer her. This ancestralromance, by imposing a clerical ideal in the tradition of hagiographies as well as the thoughtof Bernard de Clairvaux, denounces feudal chivalry and codes of courtesy. We intend to editand translate the manuscript F of this novel that the Martin Bodmer Foundation possesses, located in Cologny (Geneva). A study of the language shows that the text has many uniquecharacteristics of Anglo-Norman dialect. As for the sources of the text, many and varied as isoften the case in medieval literature, they reveal that the author was inspired by historical andancient novels to create a character able to legitimize the presence of the local Normanaristocracy on which it depended, and to consolidate its identity. We also give a new date ofcomposition of the novel.

A GUI Designer's Usability Toolbox

Sjöberg, Hanna January 2003 (has links)
Usability expresses how well a computerised system supports human activity. The human-computer interaction occurs via the user interface, which is constituted by a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to a great extent. The issue is to integrate GUI design and usability engineering with traditional system development in order to slide on the man-machine scale. The purpose of writing this thesis was to find out how to approach GUI design with respect to stakeholders? interests, technical issues, functional requirements and budget limitations. After having conducted four system development projects of varying nature, the outcome was a usability toolbox with techniques, tools and ideas for all situations. The usability toolbox offers inspiration and guidance for your interactive and creative moments and can support GUI design in any phase of a system?s life cycle, in any project.

Zaar, Oskar January 2015 (has links)

3DPOPS : From carbohydrate sequence to 3D structure

Nordström, Rickard January 2002 (has links)
In this project a web-based system called 3DPOPS have been designed, developed and implemented. The system creates initial 3D structures of oligosaccharides according to user input data and is intended to be integrated with an automatized 3D prediction system for saccharides. The web interface uses a novel approach with a dynamically updated graphical representation of the input carbohydrate. The interface is embedded in a web page as a Java applet. Both expert and novice users needs are met by informative messages, a familiar concept and a dynamically updated graphical user interface in which only valid input can be created. A set of test sequences was collected from the CarbBank database. An initial structure to each sequence could be created. All contained the information necessary to serve as starting points in a conformation search carried out by a 3D prediction system for carbohydrates.

Winpaz : Ett GUI till en ny komprimeringsalgoritm / Winpaz : A GUI for a new compression algorithm

Svensson, Andreas, Olsson, Björn January 2007 (has links)
This is a bachelor´s project that we have been working on during a period of ten weeks, full time. The goal of our project was to design and implement a GUI for a new data compression algorithm called PAZ. At present, a vast array of compression/extraction GUIs is available, but none of them provide the possibility to incorporate a user developed algorithm. Thus, we had to create our own, with support for not only PAZ, but also ZIP, RAR, and other well known archiving algorithms. And so, we have created a GUI that is well suited for an implementation of the new PAZ algorithm. The PAZ algorithm has been developed by Martin Larsson. We chose, in collaboration with Martin, to name the GUI application Winpaz. We began by implementing two separate prototypes, which we sent out to be tested by a closed group of beta testers. The reason for this test was to investigate how to design various parts of the application to be user friendly. Using the results from the testers, we then began the development of our final version of the GUI. Our goals were to implement a user friendly GUI, that supported PAZ as well as the most widespread algorithms already in use. We achieved our first goal, to design a user friendly GUI, and we implemented support for both ZIP and TAR, but had to abandon our efforts in implementing RAR and PAZ support due to lack of time. The interface is however designed with the future incorporation of these algorithms in mind. We are fairly pleased with our work, but we also recognize the need for added functionality in order to make the GUI a commercial grade product. During this project we have, apart from broadening our knowledge and skill in C++ programming, also learned to use the IDE wxDevCpp, a powerful open source tool for developing GUI applications based on the wxWidgets framework.
