Introdução: o hábito pela busca de informações que subsidiem a prática clínica e a pesquisa está cada vez mais presente na vida dos profissionais da saúde e o uso das fontes de informação especializadas tornou-se imprescindível. Nesse contexto, destaca-se o profissional bibliotecário, por suas habilidades e o senso do trabalho multidisciplinar, o que permite sua atuação como um elo com o profissional da saúde e as melhores evidências disponíveis por possuírem em seu arsenal de conhecimento técnicas para a busca e recuperação da informação relevante, sendo esta sua oportunidade com a medicina baseada em evidências. Objetivo: avaliar a produção científica dos pesquisadores da pós-graduação em Ortopedia e Traumatologia e a contribuição do bibliotecário no processo da comunicação científica, a partir da avaliação qualitativa e quantitativa de artigos publicados, frente aos requisitos vigentes estabelecidos no sistema de avaliação da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES). Metodologia: foram pesquisados os artigos publicados com a autoria vinculada ao programa de Pós-Graduação em Ortopedia e Traumatologia da FMUSP, no período de 2012 a 2014. Descartados os editoriais, os eventos e as cartas aos editores, resultou num corpus de 157 artigos. Para avaliação da qualidade do conteúdo dos artigos, foi aplicado o protocolo de avaliação criado por Amatuzzi e para determinação do nível de evidência foi utilizada a classificação proposta pelo Centro de Medicina Baseada em Evidências de Oxford e adaptado pelo periódico Acta Ortopédica Brasileira. Para a análise bibliométrica foi considerada uma janela de citação de quatro anos dos artigos indexados na base de dados Scopus e como classificação dos periódicos utilizamos o Qualis referente aos anos de 2010 a 2012. Foram analisados, tanto o total de artigos quanto a média de citações na referida janela de citação, segundo as seguintes variáveis: nível de evidência e estrato Qualis do periódico. Resultados: os pesquisadores costumam publicar em coautoria e houve uma nítida preferência por Estudos Terapêuticos, sendo grande parte das publicações em nível IV de evidência, priorizando periódicos nacionais classificados no estrato Qualis B3. Apesar da baixa frequência de publicações de nível I de evidência, sua média de citações se mostrou significativa. Analogamente, Estudos Diagnósticos e Estudos Anatômicos de nível I, em sua maior parte, igualmente foram publicados em estratos Qualis mais baixos, contudo, receberam mais citações. Sobre a qualidade metodológica dos artigos publicados, os Estudos Terapêuticos demostraram maior quantidade de respostas \"SIM\" no protocolo de avaliação utilizado, no entanto, foram publicados em periódicos com estrato Qualis menor (B4). E quanto à relação entre o impacto dos artigos com os níveis de evidência e os níveis dos periódicos, constatou-se que os estudos classificados com nível I de evidência foram os mais citados, sendo os estudos sobre anatomia, de ciências básicas, que se destacaram nas médias de citações. Percebeu-se ainda que a média de citações apresenta relação mais forte com os estratos Qualis do que com os níveis de evidência. Conclusões e considerações finais: os pesquisadores da Pós-Graduação em Ortopedia e Traumatologia devem acentuar a prática da Medicina Baseada em Evidências e inseri-la no processo da comunicação científica, buscando aperfeiçoamento, de suas pesquisas e, elevando assim, seu nível de evidência para aprimorar sua performance no exercício avaliativo empreendido pela Capes. A relação profissional do bibliotecário em ciência da saúde e dos pesquisadores deve ser estreitada, estabelecendo um esforço conjunto na busca da qualidade das publicações em Ortopedia e Traumatologia. / Introduction: the practice for the search of information which underpin the clinical practice and research is increasingly present in the lives of health professionals and the use of information sources specialized has become indispensable. In this context, highlights the professional librarian for their skills and the sense of the multidisciplinary work, which allows them to act as a link with the health professional and the best available evidence they have in their arsenal of technical knowledge for the search and retrieval of relevant information, and this is their opportunity with evidence-based medicine. Objective: to evaluate the scientific production of the post-graduate researchers in Orthopedics and Traumatology and the contribution of the librarian in the scientific communication process, based on the qualitative and quantitative assessment of published articles, in face of the requirements established in the evaluation system of the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Level (CAPES). Methodology: the articles published were searched with the authorship associated to the post-graduation program in Orthopedics and Traumatology of FMUSP, from 2012 to 2014. Discarded the editorial, events and letters to the editors, has resulted in a corpus of 157 articles. To evaluate the quality of the content of the articles, was applied the evaluation protocol created by Amatuzzi and for the determination of the level of evidence was used the classification proposed by the Evidence-Based Medicine Center of Oxford and adapted by the journal Acta Ortopedica Brasileira. For the bibliometric analysis a four-year citation window of the articles indexed in the Scopus database was considered and as a classification of the journals we used Qualis for the years 2010 to 2012. We analyzed both the total number of articles and the mean number of citations in the mentioned citation window, according to the following variables: level of evidence and Qualis stratum. Results: researchers usually publish in co-authorship, and there is a clear preference for Therapeutic Studies, being a large part of the publications in level IV of evidence, prioritizing national journals classified in the Qualis B3 stratum. Despite the low frequency of publications of level I evidence, its average citation proved to be significant. Similarly, level I Diagnostic and Anatomical Studies, for the most part, were also published in lower Qualis stratum, however, they received more citations. On the methodological quality of the published articles, the Therapeutic Studies demonstrated a greater amount of \"YES\" responses in the evaluation protocol used, however, they were published in journals with lower Qualis stratum (B4). Regarding the relation between the impact of the articles with the levels of evidence and levels of the journals, it was found that the studies classified level I of evidence are the most cited, and the studies on anatomy, of basic sciences, stand out in the averages of citations. It is also realized that the average citation has most strong relation with the Qualis stratum of that with the levels of evidence. Conclusions and final considerations: the researchers of the postgraduate in Orthopedics and Traumatology must emphasize the practice of Evidence-Based Medicine and insert it in the process of scientific communication, seeking enhancement of their research, and thereby raising their level of evidence, thus improving their performance in the exercise of evaluation undertaken by CAPES. The professional relationship of the librarian in health science and researchers should be narrowed, establishing a joint effort in the pursuit of the quality of publications in Orthopedics and Traumatology.

Sjuksköterskors upplevelser av att vårda palliativt : En litteraturstudie

Bakgrund: Patienterna som erhåller palliativ vård upplever bland annat att de förlorar sin frihet och självständighet i och med sjukdomen och en frustration över att kroppen inte fungerar som tidigare. De upplever även att deras situation får dem att ändra sina attityder gentemot livet. Flera patienter uppskattar när vårdpersonalen visar ett genuint intresse och många har ett stort förtroende för sjukvården. Några patienter upplever dock att sjuksköterskorna och läkarna inte har tid för dem och att deras kunskap gällande deras psykosociala problem är bristfällig. Syfte: Syftet är att beskriva sjuksköterskors upplevelser av att vårda palliativt. Metod: Kvalitativ litteraturstudie med beskrivande syntes. Tio kvalitativa artiklar har analyserats och presenterats i arbetets resultat. Resultat: Efter analys uppkom två teman; Att bli berikad och Att bli utmanad som beskriver sjuksköterskors upplevelser med fem subtema. Slutsats: Sjuksköterskorna upplevde bland annat att de stärktes som person och att de lärde sig att omprioritera och uppskatta livet. De upplevde även sorg över patienternas öden och det var vanligt att ta med sig jobbet hem. Flera av sjuksköterskorna upplevde att läkarna inte gav dem något stöd, andra upplevde att deras brist på erfarenhet bidrog till en sämre vård. / Background: Patients who receive palliative care experience that they lose their independence through the disease and are frustrated that their body is not functioning as before. They also experience that their situation make them change their attitudes towards life. Several patients appreciate when healthcare professionals show genuine interest and the same patients have confidence in the healthcare system. Some patients experience that the healthcare professionals have no time and that their knowledge regarding their psychosocial problems is inadequate. Aim: The purpose is to describe nurses experience of nursing in palliative care. Method: Qualitative literature study with descriptive synthesis. Ten qualitative articles have been analyzed and is presented in the result. Results: After analysis, two themes were disclosed; Becoming enriched and Being challenged who described nurse’s experiences presented under five subthemes. Conclusion: Nurses perceived, among other things, that they were strengthened as a person and that they learned to re-prioritize and appreciate life. They also experienced grief over the fate of patients and it was common to take work home. Several of the nurses perceived that doctors did not give them support, others felt that their lack of experience contributed to the care worsening.

Evaluating the Effectiveness of a Malnutrition Education Program in the Outpatient Setting

In 2012 the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Academy) and the American Society for Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition (ASPEN) published a consensus statement outlining the clinical characteristics recommended for the diagnosis of adult malnutrition, specifically undernutrition. The Academy and ASPEN recognized the need to standardize the approach to identify, diagnose and document malnutrition. There continues to be growing awareness that malnutrition plays a significant role on health outcomes and on the course of treatment for patients. The high prevalence of malnutrition at hospital admission identifies the need for more awareness, recognition and treatment at an earlier stage, such as primary care or an outpatient setting. The primary objective of this study was to assess the effectiveness of a malnutrition education program implemented in the outpatient clinics at James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital and Clinics in Tampa, FL. The education program involved hands-on Nutrition Focused Physical Exam Workshop training for outpatient dietitians, education to outpatient dietitians regarding policies and procedures for improved identification and documentation of malnutrition, and education to primary care physicians at a formal staff meeting and team meetings and huddles. The Ambulatory Care Nutrition Section Chief recognized the need for further nutrition focused physical exam (NFPE) training for outpatient dietitians and general malnutrition training to outpatient providers. The interventions implemented as part of the malnutrition education program in the outpatient setting at James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital and Clinics showed statistically significant, desired outcomes as indicated by improvements in outpatient dietitian confidence levels with performing NFPE and statistically significant associations between fiscal year and presence of malnutrition codes to evaluate effectiveness of training for both dietitians and primary care physicians.

Correlations between dietary indicators and cardiometabolic profiles in preschool children.

ABSTRACT Background: Recent literature suggests preschool children regardless of income, age, ethnicity, and gender are subject to future cardiometabolic risk. Dietary intake, when analyzed can indicate diversity and lack of meeting adequate nutrient standards. A combination of anthropometric and blood analysis with dietary intake assessment can provide practitioners the knowledge for adequate early nutrition intervention and education. Objectives: This descriptive, cross-sectional study describes the relationship between dietary intake and cardiometabolic indicators in preschool children. There is also a comparison of mean subject values and referenced national standards. Study Sample: Four hundred seventy-one preschool children, between the ages of three and five, and parents were recruited via the Head Start program in seven different rural schools in Northeast Florida. Each parent was provided an Individual Dietary Diversity Score questionnaire. Children underwent blood sampling from a finger prick to assess lipids, glucose, hemoglobin and hematocrit. Body measurements including height, weight, waist circumference, sagittal abdominal diameter, and blood pressure were taken. Statistical Analysis: Variables of interest were uploaded into SPSS software for quantitative analysis. Means and standard deviations were calculated for the continuous variables and frequencies and percent were calculated for the categorical variables. One-way analysis of variance was used to assess the relationship between the cardiometabolic variables as dependent variables and the dichotomous explanatory variables. One-sample t-tests were used to compare the mean values of the cardiometabolic variables with national standards by age and gender. Results: Of the 471 subjects, 86 assessed via one-way ANOVA showed that lower diversity scores were significantly associated with lower blood triglycerides and higher hemoglobin (n = 137) and hematocrit % (n = 65) levels. Higher 100% fruit juice consumption was significantly associated with lower triglyceride levels. A higher intake of fresh vegetables was significantly associated with lower waist circumference and lower sagittal abdominal diameter. A higher soda consumption was significantly associated with greater waist circumference, greater sagittal abdominal diameter and higher triglyceride levels. When the cardiometabolic parameters in the study sample were compared with national standards, it was found that the height of study subjects was shorter (cm) than national standards for males and females. Waist circumference of 4 and 5-year-old males was smaller (cm) than national standards, BMI of 4-year-old females was lower than national standards, blood pressure in both male and female subject age groups was higher (mmHg) than national standards, and hematocrit % in both males and females was a higher percentage than national standards. Conclusion: This study does support the belief that a diet with a higher intake of fresh vegetables, fruits and 100% fruit juice and a lower consumption of sugary beverages such as soda promotes a decrease in body composition, specifically measurements of adiposity around the abdominal area. Lowering abdominal adiposity decreases cardiometabolic risk.

En friskare arbetsplats : Faktorer som påverkar vi friskvårdsarbete

<p>Bakgrunden till undersökningen är att arbetsplatsen är en viktig arena att arbeta hälsofrämjande på, eftersom en stor del av befolkningen nås via denna och olika hälsobeteenden kan påverkas innan ohälsa uppstår. En framgångsrik strategi för att skapa hälsosammare arbetsplatser är att arbeta med friskvård. Om människor ska kunna leva hälsosamt krävs att de får möjlighet att göra det även på arbetsplatsen, då hälsa bör ses ur ett helhetsperspektiv. EduTainer har utarbetat en metod för att arbeta med friskvård på företag. Ett företag som arbetat efter denna metod, med gott resultat, är Måleriproduktion AB. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka vilka faktorer som underlättar respektive försvårar för friskvårdsarbete på Måleriproduktion AB samt att studera vilka faktorer som är viktiga hos den externa aktören för att uppnå ett framgångsrikt friskvårdsarbete på arbetsplatsen. Undersökningen baseras på kvalitativ metod och intervjuer har genomförts med åtta deltagare i friskvårdsarbetet. Resultatet och slutsatserna visar att faktorer som underlättar för friskvårdsarbete är inställning, socialt stöd, motivation, förändrade rutiner och en extern aktör. Faktorer som försvårar för friskvårdsarbete är tidsbrist, brist på gemensamma aktiviteter och andra faktorer på själva arbetsplatsen. Viktiga faktorer hos den externa aktören är att den förmedlar bred information samt att upplägget är varierande med föreläsningar, individuell rådgivning, tester och uppföljning.</p> / <p>The background for the study is that the workplace is an important arena to work with health promotion, since a large amount of the population can be reached by the workplace and different health behaviors can be affected before ill health appears. A successful strategy for creating healthy workplaces is to work with preventive health care. If people are going to be able to live healthy lives, they need to get the opportunity to live healthy even at the workplace, because health is supposed to be seen from a holistic point of view. EduTainer has created a method, used for companies, to work with preventive health care. A company which has adopted this method, with good results, is Måleriproduktion AB. The aim of this study is to examine what factors that simplify respectively complicate working with preventive health care at Måleriproduktion AB and to study what factors that are important for the external operator to achieve a successful preventive health care-work at the workplace. The study is based on qualitative method and interviews have been made with eight participants of the preventive health care-work. The result and the conclusions show that the factors that simplify working with preventive health care-work are attitude, social support, motivation, a change of routines and an external operator. Factors that complicate working with preventive health care are lack of time, lack of common activities and other factors at the workplace itself. Important factors for the external operator are that the information is widely mediated and that the framing is varied with lectures, individual counselling, tests and follow up.</p>

Collaboration between health promoting actors in a rural community - Maciene, Mozambique

<p>In community health promotion intersectoral collaboration is essential. Important actors are the governmental health system, the civil society and Non-Governmental organisations (NGOs). The aim of this qualitative thesis was to examine what kind of cooperation existed in a rural community in Mozambique and to describe the actor’s experiences of collaboration and how it can be improved. This was done by conducting interviews. The result of the study showed that different ways of cooperation existed, intersectoral as well as side by side and intrasectoral. The extent of intersectoral collaboration was fairly loose, such as networks, alliances or partnership. All the informants were positive to collaboration, they had experienced that people had been helped and their knowledge in health issues was improved as an effect of joint efforts. The experience among the actors was that the collaboration had improved and that they had become closer together over the years. Problems to cooperation that were mentioned concerned dropouts and financial issues. The informants were unanimous that it was necessary to broaden the collaboration. They were concerned over the sustainability in the different projects as well as the sustainability in cooperation itself.</p> / <p>Para a promoção da saúde em comunidade a colaboração intersetorial é essencial. O sistema público de saúde, a sociedade civil e as organisações não governamentais (ONGs) são importantes agentes. O objetivo desta tese qualitativa foi examinar qual tipo de cooperação existiu em uma comunidade rural em Moçambique e descrever as experiências de colaboração dos agentes e como ela pode ser melhorada. Isto foi feito através de entrevistas. O resultado do estudo mostrou que existiram diferentes modos de colaboração: intersetorial assim como intrasetorial de forma paralela. O nível da colaboração intersetorial foi relativamente informal assim como redes de contato, alianças e parcerias. Todos os entrevistados foram positivos a colaborar e experienciaram que as pessoas tinham sido auxiliadas e que seus conhecimentos acerca de assuntos de saúde foi melhorado como resultado da união de esforços. A experiência entre os agentes foi de que a colaboração foi melhorada e que eles se tornaram mais próximos através dos anos. Problemas acerca de colaboração que foram mencionados foram devidos a desistências e questões financeiras. Os entrevistados foram unânimes sobre a necessidade de aumento do nível de colaboração. Eles estavam preocupados sobre a sustentabilidade de diferentes projetos assim como a sustentabilidade da cooperação em sí própria.</p>

Hälsodiplomerad gymnasieskola -Förändringen av elevers hälsa mellan åren 2004 och 2008 : En resultatutvärdering

<p><p><p><strong>Bakgrund</strong><strong>:</strong> Studier visar att ungas upplevda- och psykiska hälsa samt deras hälsorelaterade levnadsvanor försämras med åldern. Elevers trivsel och påverkansmöjligheter i skolan minskar också med stigande ålder. Hälsofrämjande arbete i skolan kan därför vara värdefullt för att förbättra ungas hälsa. Det kan exempelvis ske genom Korpen Svenska Motionsidrottsförbundets koncept: Hälsodiplomerad gymnasieskola. I Västerås är Carlforsska gymnasiet en hälsodiplomerad skola. <strong>Syfte</strong>: Att studera om den hälsodiplomerade skolans hälsofrämjande arbete medfört någon förändring gällande elevers hälsa i årskurs två mellan åren 2004 och 2008. <strong>Metod</strong>: En resultatutvärdering genomfördes innefattande; en kvalitativ och en kvantitativ metod. Kvalitativ studie omfattade fyra intervjuer med skolpersonal. Underlag för den kvantitativa studien var ett insamlat material från undersökningen "Liv- och hälsa- Ung i Västmanland". <strong>Resultat</strong>: Skolpersonal upplevde att förbättringar skett gällande elevers hälsorelaterade levnadsvanor och ökad trivsel i skolan. Båda könen rapporterade förbättrad psykisk hälsa avseende minskad nervositet och ökad skoltrivsel. Pojkar hade också förbättrade resultat gällande; livskvalitet, irritation, stress, alkoholintag och snusvanor. Flickor rapporterade förbättrade resultat rörande; fysisk aktivitet, frukostintag och utökad arbetsro i skolan. <strong>Slutsatser</strong>: Skolans hälsofrämjande arbete har troligtvis bidragit till att förbättra elevers hälsa. Det är ett långsiktigt arbete och fler studier inom området behövs för att utläsa dess egentliga effekter på hälsa.</p></p></p> / <p><p><p><strong>Background</strong><strong>:</strong> Studies have shown that young people's experienced- and psychological health and their health related habits declines with age. Student's comfort and influence opportunities in school also weaken with age. Health promotion work in school might therefore be valuable to increase young people's health. This could for instance be achieved through Korpen - the Swedish exercise union's concept: Health certified school. Västerås, a city in the county of Västmanland, has one health certified high school, Carlforsska. <strong>Aim</strong>: To study if the health certified school's health promotion work has resulted in any change concerning the second grade student's health, between the years 2004 and 2008. <strong>Method</strong>: A outcome evaluation has been conducted including both qualitative and quantitative method. The qualitative method included four interviews with school staff. The foundation for the quantitative study was a collected material from a survey called "Liv och hälsa- Ung in Västmanland". <strong>Result</strong>: School staff experienced improvements concerning student's health related habits and increased comfort in school. Both boys and girls reported improved psychological health such as lower feelings of nervousness and improved comfort in school. Boys had also improved results in; self reported quality of life, irritation, stress and alcoholand snuff use. Girls improved their results in; physical activity, breakfast habits and improved feelings of better working conditions in school. <strong>Conclusion</strong>: The school's health promotive work has probably contributed to the student's improved health results. Working with health in school is a longterm process and more studies are needed to assure the detailed influence by health promotive work on young people's health.</p></p></p>

Hälsofrämjande genom medarbetarsamtal – : Fokusgruppsintervjuer i kommunal verksamhet

<p><strong>Bakgrund: </strong>Den största delen av den vuxna befolkningen befinner sig i arbetslivet och därför är arbetsplatsen en viktig arena i arbetet med att förbättra folkets hälsa. I verksamheters systematiska arbetsmiljöarbete finns verktyget medarbetarsamtal som syftar till att öka förståelsen för organisationens uppgift samt att ge medarbetaren ett större handlingsutrymme. <strong>Syfte: </strong>Att studera chefers och medarbetares upplevelser av hur arbetsmiljö och livsstilsfrågor diskuteras och behandlas i medarbetarsamtalet. <strong>Metod: </strong>Fyra fokusgrupper genomfördes med chefer och medarbetare från proAros olika verksamheter. <strong>Resultat: </strong>Mål, strategier, utveckling samt en enad riktning av verksamheten diskuterades som viktiga delar i medarbetarsamtalet. Tydligt ledarskap, stöd och uppmuntran, delaktighet, det egna ansvaret samt hur mål och krav är anpassade för den rådande situationen var faktorer som upplevdes påverka medarbetarsamtalet. Gällande arbetsmiljö diskuterades främst hur trivseln i arbetslaget var och hur samarbetet fungerade. Gällande livsstilsfrågor diskuterades friskvård, det egna ansvaret för sin hälsa samt balansen mellan arbetsliv och privatliv. <strong>Slutsats: </strong>Den fysiska arbetsmiljön är fortfarande av betydelse för de anställdas hälsa då proAros verksamheter till större delen består av människobehandlande yrken med påfrestande arbetsbelastningar. Frågan om att hitta balans är viktig för den arbetsrelaterade hälsan och bör därför göras mer medveten. Det promotiva hälsoarbetet bör därför integreras även i medarbetarsamtal.</p> / <p><strong>Background: </strong>The majority of the adult population is present in working life and the workplace is therefore an important setting in the efforts to improve public health. In the organizations’ day-to-day work to improve the work environment it is possible to use performance appraisal that aims to increase the understanding for the organization’s commissions and to increase the employees’ participation. <strong>Aim: </strong>To study directors and coworkers experiences about how work environment and lifestyle are discussed and managed during performance appraisal. <strong>Method: </strong>Four focus groups where performed with directors and co-workers from different units at proAros. <strong>Result: </strong>Objectives, strategies, development, and a united direction in the organization were discussed as important for performance appraisals. Leadership, support and encouragement, participation, the own responsibility and how objectives, demands are adjusted to the existing situation were factors that were experienced to influence performance appraisal. Concerning the work environment was the comfort in the team and how the cooperation worked the foremost subjects that were discussed. Concerning lifestyle were the organisation’s health work, the responsibility for your own health and the balance between working life and leisure time discussed. <strong>Conclusion: </strong>The physical work environment is still important for the employees’ health as the units of proAros to a great extent consist of human services with a high workload. The question of how to find a balance is important for the work related health and therefore should the awareness of it be enlarged. The health promoting work should therefore also be integrated in performance appraisals.</p>

Skolmåltidspersonalens upplevelser av att kunna påverka måltidssituationen

<p>Övervikt och fetma är ett av de mest omfattande folkhälsoproblemen i Sverige och det är en stor andel barn och unga som lever med detta problem. Då goda matvanor grundläggs i tidig ålder utgör skolmåltiden en betydelsefull roll för att upprätta hälsosamma matvanor. Faktorer i den fysiska matmiljön, såsom möblering, städning, dekorering, inredning, belysning samt ljudnivå påverkar elevernas upplevelse av måltidssituationen. Den psykiska miljön som innefattar både psykologiska och sociala faktorer, det vill säga servering av skolmaten, arbetskläder, matglädje, elevernas matintag samt möjligheterna för skolmåltidspersonalen att gå någon fortbildning är även av betydelse för måltidssituationen. Dessa faktorer har studerats i detta examensarbete som utförts på uppdrag av Region Halland och som syftade till att studera skolmåltidspersonalens upplevelser av att påverka måltidssituationen i skolan. En kvalitativ forskningsansats har tillämpats då avsikten var att studera skolmåltidspersonalens upplevelser och livsvärld. Intervjuer har genomförts på skolmåltidspersonal som varit köksansvariga i ett mottagningskök i Varbergs kommun. Resultatet tyder på att skolmåltidspersonalen kan påverka matmiljön gällande användandet av det som redan finns till förfogande. Brist på pengar uppges utgöra ett hinder för att kunna påverka måltidssituationen. Skolmåltidspersonalen kan inte påverka huvudkomponenten men däremot de tillbehör och komponenter som serveras därtill. Kunskaperna anses vara goda för att kunna påverka måltidssituationen, dock finns det önskemål om fortbildning på vissa områden.</p> / <p>Overweight and obesity are among the largest public health issues in Sweden with a high proportion of children and young people living under these conditions. Healthy eating habits are established early in life and the daily school meal plays an important role in the work for creating and sustaining those habits. Factors in the physical environment, such as furnishing, cleaning, decorating, lighting and sound, all affect the students’ experience of their food situation in school. Also the mental environment, including both psychological and social factors like the serving of the school meal, food happiness, the students’ food intake, working clothes for the school restaurant staff and the possibility for further education, are relevant to the meal situation and environment. These factors were studied in this thesis which was carried out on behalf of the Region Halland and which aimed to study the school restaurant staff´s experiences to influence the food situation in school. A qualitative research approach has been applied as the intention was to study the school food staff´s own thoughts and experiences. Interviews were conducted with persons responsible for reception kitchens in Varberg municipality. The results show that school food staff can to some degree influence the school meal environment with means already available to them, although lack of money is considered a barrier to further improve the food situation. The school food staff cannot themselves affect the main component, but the accessories and other components. Knowledge among the staff is considered good enough to influencing the meal situation. However, there are requests for more in-service training and further education in certain areas.</p>
