Cascading Evolutionary Morphological Charts for Holistic Ideation FrameworkJanuary 2012 (has links)
abstract: The main objective of this project was to create a framework for holistic ideation and investigate the technical issues involved in its implementation. In previous research, logical ideation methods were explored, ideation states were identified, and tentative set of ideation blocks with strategies were incorporated in an interactive software testbed. As a subsequent study, in this research, intuitive methods and their strategies were investigated and characterized, a framework to organize the components of ideation (both logical and intuitive) was devised, and different ideation methods were implemented based on the framework. One of the major contributions of this research is the method by which information passes between different ideation methods. Another important part of the research is that a framework to organize ideas found by different methods. The intuitive ideation strategies added to the holistic test bed are reframing, restructuring, random connection, force connection, and analogical reasoning. A computer tool facilitating holistic ideation was developed. This framework can also be used as a research tool to collect large amounts of data from designers about their choice of ideation strategies, and assessment of their effectiveness. / Dissertation/Thesis / M.S. Terapias alternativas/complementares: o saber e o fazer das enfermeiras do distrito administrativo 71 - Santo Amaro-São Paulo / Alternative or complementary therapies: knowledge and action of the nurses at the 71st Administrative District - Santo Amaro, São PauloHelena Maria Fekete Nuñez 05 April 2002 (has links)
A new paradigm - Holistic - is revolutionizing many fields of knowledge and, specifically at the health area, is integrating the physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of human being, offering foundations for the alternative or complementary therapies knowledge. Considering the nurse\'s importance for the development of health integral actions the author made an exploratory study aiming to identify the knowledge and action of the nurses that work at São Paulo\'s 71st Administrative District - Santo Amaro, regarding the alternative and complementary therapies submitting semi-structured questionnaries on July and August, 2001 to all eighteen nurses that worked at nine healthcare units. In a quantitative and qualitative approach the nurse\'s profile was analyzed and the factors that have influence on the knowledge and the doing on alternative or complementary therapies were showed. It also indicated that there\'s a great acceptance and credibility toward these techniques by the nurses (89%), but the little knowledge of legal support (22,2%) and specific courses or training available in this field (5,5%) limits its usage. Around half of the nurses (44,4%) searches for themselves some application but only 11,1% will be applying them on the users or clients at the healthcare units. The author unveiled the nurse\'s perception toward the conceptuae evolution, institutional and personal support and difficulties related to these practices and concluded that there\'s a need to search for additional knowledge to expand new assistential options for the population\'s health promotion

This study aimed to evaluate the social representations of professionals working with the Family Health Program (FHP) teams about use of complementary and integrative practices (CIP) in public health care, under ordinance 971, establishing the National Policy the Complementary and Integrative Practices (NPCIP) in public health services of the Brazilian Health Care System (BHS). Participants were all medical doctors (n=30), dental surgeons (n=14) and nurses (n=34), amounting to 78 professionals working in the 34 public health units (PHU) based in Piracicaba, SP. Data collection involved a taped semi-structured interview with questions addressing issues concerning the incorporation of CIP in public health care. Discourse analysis was done based on the Collective Subject Discourse technique. Results showed that the professionals assessed have no knowledge on the ordinance 971, suggesting that NPCIP continues inexpressive in BHS. Most respondents revealed representations in common as they view homeopathy, known to stimulate the body's natural defense, as a therapy that requires belief in order for it to work effectively. It also involves low cost and could be used as alternative to treat patients in BHS. Most professionals seemed to comply with the incorporation of CIP in BHS; however, some addressed some disadvantages concerning human resources related to service, financing, and training. Respondents reported they would, if required, be interested in majoring in some fields of study such as acupuncture, phytotherapy, and homeopathy. Continued education strategies are needed to provide health professionals with better knowledge of the NPCIP so that it will be adequately applied in BHS / Mestrado / Saude Coletiva / Mestre em Odontologia

Hållbar utveckling : separata dimensioner eller en helhetWarelius, Carl January 2018 (has links)
Sustainable development consists of three different dimensions, social, economic and ecological sustainable development. Social sustainability focuses on social factors such as human rights, democracy, health, education and gender equality. Economic sustainability can be understood as economic development which does not adversely be at the expense of ecological or social sustainability. Ecological sustainability focuses on the environment where production of goods and services does not compromise the ability of ecosystems. The different dimensions concerns different issues in sustainability work and there are different ways of wiewing their relationship. Moreover, the issue of the study is to develop an understanding of sustainable development's dimensions from a holistic perspective. The aim is also to highlight the geography teaching in today's school, where the scope of the different dimensions is prioritized. This study is of a qualitative nature. The result is based on semi structured interviews with three teachers in geography. They show that the participant's views on sustainable development differ. Two of the teachers have a view that is based in the ecological dimension while one teacher sees sustainable development from a holistic perspective. The result also shows that teacher's perceptions of sustainable development affect the scope of the dimensions of their teaching. Common to the three teachers is that the social dimension gets the least space in the teacher's teaching.

AQUISIÇÃO DO LÉXICO EM ESPANHOL COMO LÍNGUA ESTRANGEIRA SEGUNDO A TEORIA HOLÍSTICA DA ATIVIDADE / LEXICON ACQUISITION IN SPANISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE ACCORDING TO THE HOLISTIC THEORY OF ACTIVITYLima, Liara Josiane Rodrigues de 09 December 2010 (has links)
Language enables communication among human beings and according to Vygotskian theory it performs two important functions. First, it performs an interpersonal function. Subsequently, when language is internalized, besides promoting interaction, it guides people in the construction of their thoughts and becomes the basis for the emergence of conscience, having an intrapersonal function. In this context, mastering a considerable amount of words in a target language may contribute to a clear
communication among the interlocutors and may be one of the resources to acquire the ability of writing good texts. In this sense, we have done a research with students
of the course of Languages Portuguese/Spanish in order to verify to what extent a framework approach, among which we have opted for process-writing, has contributed
for lexical acquisition of Spanish as a foreign language through textual productions. The main theoretical base was the Holistic Theory of Activity (RICHTER, 2004,
2005, 2006, 2008), so all the theoretical and methodological foundation adopted to analyze the corpus proceeded from this base. The corpus is composed by answers
to a questionnaire and by texts produced by the students through process-writing, by White & Arndt (1991). The results obtained through the corpus analysis led us to
conclude that there was an expansion of lexical items in the students texts and that they related this expansion to process-writing. During all this process, we observed
that the students were at the same time expanding their vocabulary and then improving their writing as they noticed what was happening to them in each stage, i.e., the
difficulties they had, the resources they sought and the strategies they used made them reflect on what may occur with their future students and then help these in their
Zone of Proximal Development. In this view, the students not only wrote texts but also obtained grants to become mediators of this process.

Analysing guided and recorded self-generated visual and expressive personal constructs as adjuncts to the counselling processPienaar, Pieter Abraham 07 March 2005 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to see how meaningful and practically challenging a combined and structured arts therapy approach can be for an island-style counselling scenario. The overarching rationale with this particular arts therapy approach was to enable the client to gain self-insight by means of constructing a holistic view of present concerns and aspirations by capturing them in personal, functional and professional-looking artefacts conveying relevant self-messages. The client self-generated the content of each exercise, according to a manual and strategic interventions, and was guided by the counsellor in the user-friendly application of the arts. Apart from the unique combination of arts therapies in this study, another factor that may contribute to counselling practice is the attempt to make use of video as a non-threatening integrating medium. Throughout the process, the client made rehearsed video appearances to consolidate personal gains. At the end of the counselling process, the respondent enjoyed an “objective” screening of the process and he left with the personal constructs, a video tape and a CD-Rom application of the recorded process. The literature study reveals the numerous techniques, exercises and most common combinations spread across the domain of the 26 expressive modalities that were scrutinised to gain insight into this vast field. The empirical process revealed that it is possible to utilise the arts therapy approach meaningfully to enable a client to build a “visual narrative”. To optmise the potential this approach holds, the environment facilitating the process needs to be adequately equipped and the counsellor needs to be skilled in the application of particular electronic media or, alternatively, a group of experts need to co-operate. / Dissertation (MEd (Learning Support, Guidance and Counselling))--University of Pretoria, 2005. / Educational Psychology / unrestricted

This study was undertaken around the following problem statement: As a result of erratic pastoral care for the ministers' corps of the Dutch Reformed Church (DRC) by the denomination, ministers are often left to their own resources (to fend for themselves?) and consequently experience solitude. Because of developments in society and the church, they exist and function more and more on the periphery of the lives of people and of society. With some ministers, this results in an alienation from their calling and uncertainty about how this calling should be realised in specific circumstances and contexts. From this, the following research hypothesis was formulated: When the DRC appoints pastors pastorum as an essential component of a comprehensive and holistic approach to the pastoral care of the minister, ministers will fulfil their calling with renewed self-confidence, improved competence and greater authority. This study was approached from the methodological question: Who does what, regarding who, how, where, when, why? The DRC functions according to the presbyterial synodal system of church government. Each pastor and congregation is, although selfreliant, also part of the DRC and the Church of Christ in general. The presbyterial synodal church government system is not the only way in which the church can be managed and is also not infallible. The weaknesses in the system have a negative effect especially on pastors who have attained an exceptionally important position in the system. The system of corporate episcopes is inadequate in current circumstances.</p. Concerning episcope. The service of episcope is scripturally defined, but the nature thereof depends on place, time and circumstances. In churches with an episcopal character, the episcope are the function of the bishop and possess an individual character. A general consensus exists that these episcope can be executed in a synodal-collegial manner, OR in an episcopal-personal manner. It is not necessary to apply the service in the figure of the bishop exclusively. It is essential to supplement the system of corporative episcope in the DRC with a system of personal episcope. The function of episcope must be applied to all levels of church life. Concerning the pastor. The term pastor is preferred to that of minister or preacher. No definition is given for a pastor, but the profile of the pastor is described in terms of the triangle: person, office and profession. The calling of the pastor is considered to be fundamental to this triangle. The pastoral care of pastors comprises the totality of activities provided by the entire church in order to, by means of a personal episcope (thus officially), communicate the gospel to the pastor in all facets of his humanity and, by utilizing all possible aids, to enable the pastor to fulfill his calling with renewed self-confidence (security of identity), authority (security of office) and competence (security of profession). On the strength of this description, the following resposibility is assigned to each church assembly in the process of pastoral care of pastors: The synod functions on the level of profession and office with favourable results on the personal level of the pastor. The circuit functions on the level of mutual care among pastors. The church council and congregation function on the level of the general priesthood of believers. The pastor pastorum The ministry of the pastor pastorum should be founded upon the metaphor of the shepherd. To be able to use this nowadays, the metaphor should be deconstructed first in order to look past the various romantic portrayals thereof. Then it has to be reconstructed in order to be applicable to current circumstances. The position and profile of the pastor pastorum is pointed out. Special attention is paid to the pastor pastorum as shepherd and as person who should be able to think systemically. Empirical research <lo>The empirical investigation attempts to connect the who and the what to the where and the when.<ol> <lo><li>The empirical investigation confirms the supposition that a need exists for pastoral care among pastors.</li> <li>The pastor prefers to be pastorally cared for by the church.</li> <li>For the pastor, the receiver of the pastoral care, it is not really important which church assembly the care emanates (comes?) from. Care from a major assembly which is removed further than the regional synod from the pastor, would, however, not be effective. </li> <li>It seems that lack of a vision on the whole is a serious problem, especially in churches from the reformed tradition.</li> <li>Solutions concerning pastoral care of pastors should be directed towards the person of the pastor as well as towards the structure in which the pastor works.</li></ol> The church can and must learn from other church traditions. / Thesis (PhD)--University of Pretoria, 2008. / Practical Theology / PhD / Unrestricted

Investigation of IoT camera solutions in Smart Cities from a Technology, Information Security and Trust point of viewLukacs, Andrea January 2020 (has links)
Smart cities utilize IoT cameras in a rushing pace. However, these high technological connected devices are back doors to safe systems. Implementation of high technological solutions without concerning other important aspects as information security and the factor of trust violates not only the quality aspect of the solutions, but also breaches the privacy of individuals. Secure solutions that reserve the trust of individuals with the help of high technological solutions is therefore significant. This study is aimed to investigate and find answer to how IoT camera solutions for smart cities can include all three of the important factors, which contributes for a deeper understanding of the whole product development process` possible improvements. Through a qualitative approach the research questions are investigated which resulted in a contribution that support the academic world of information security in presenting the importance of correct communication, collaboration and the including of the three factors during the development process of IoT camera solutions for smart cities. The results are open for further investigation as observed during research, but also key findings and recommendations are offered to the stakeholders of the IoT camera solution development industry.

Missionale Theologie : Möglichkeiten die Gemeindearbeit der täuferisch-mennonitischen Kirche in Deutschland zu bereichern / Missional theology : opportunities to enrich the work of the Anabaptist Mennonite Church in GermanyJanzen, Erwin 11 1900 (has links)
In this research, two theological approaches are examined for commonalities and differences. For this purpose, the Anabaptist-Mennonite church work is first examined for their underlying theology and ecclesiology. Next, the focus turns to the second approach, the missional theology. Again, the underlying theology and ecclesiology is examined. The necessary aggravation is achieved by limiting it to developments in Germany. Following this synchronic approach, both unfolded theological approaches can be compared. Subsequently, practical conclusions are drawn as to whether and to what extent both theological approaches are compatible with each other and which integration options seem worthwhile. The content of both approaches becomes clear. Missionary theology seems to offer Anabaptist-Mennonite church work a chance to develop more relevance for society through holistic and contextualization. / Kolu phando, iindlela ezimbini zakwalizwi ziyavavanywa kwizinto eziqhelekileyo kunye nokwahluka.
