In-Home Occupational Performance Evaluation Kartläggning av aktivitetskortens överensstämmelse hos personer, 65 år och äldre i ordinärt boende i Sverige / In-Home Occupational Performance EvaluationMapping the compliance of the activity cards among persons over 65 years of age in ordinary accommodation in Sweden

Norin, Anna, Ström, Katarina January 2017 (has links)
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to describe whether the activity cards in I-HOPE correspond to older people's activities in the home based on Swedish conditions and identify the need to supplement additional activities. Method: Data collection was performed with a quantitative standardized web quote with qualitative elements. In total, 41 participants participated between 65 and 87 years with an average age of 73.3 years and a standard deviation of 5.1 years. All participants lived in Ordinary accommodation in southern Norway, coastal and inland in Sweden. The data was processed using quantitative analysis method, the result was presented in running text with tables and figures. The answers from the web site's open question about missing activities were categorized into groups based on the actual answers. Results: The result of the study showed that it was 18 of the 44 activity cards that all participants could identify without guidance. 16 activity cards were 75-99% of the participants who could identify. In addition, there were 10 activity cards that fewer than 50% of the study participants were able to Identify without guidance. On most activity cards, participants were able to identify the activity without guidance but they could not identify with the environment, equipment or how the activity was performed. The result also showed that 10 of the 44 activities were not performed by all participants in the study. Furthermore, there was a need to supplement I-HOPE with additional activity cards to respond to Swedish conditions. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, the authors find a need to supplement more activity cards and to revise a number of the pictures on the existing activity cards in the I-HOPE assessment tool.

The experience of hope for informal caregivers of palliative home care patients : a grounded theory exploration

Holtslander, Lorraine Fay 17 November 2004
The purpose of this study was to explore the processes of hope in informal caregivers of palliative patients. Interviews were conducted with caregivers who were living with and currently providing care to a palliative patient at home. Saturation was reached with 10 caregivers, five females and five males, from 2 cities in Saskatchewan, Canada. <p>The design of this qualitative study was Glasers (2001) grounded theory. Broad, unstructured face to face audio taped interviews were conducted in the participants homes. Interviews were transcribed verbatim and analyzed using constant-comparative method of analysis in order to identify the main concern of the participants related to hope, and the basic social processes used to resolve that concern. <p>Eroding hope was the main concern relating to hope during caregiving for a palliative patient. Eroding hope was a result of bad days, negative messages, and experiences with the health care system. The participants deal with eroding hope by using the basic social process of hanging on to hope. Hanging on to hope has 4 sub-processes: a)doing what you have to do, b)living in the moment, c)staying positive, and d)writing your own story. The support of friends, family, and health care professionals and connecting with something bigger and stronger were sub-processes of hanging on to hope that together directly affect the other sub-processes.<p>The findings of this study have direct application for the care and support of informal caregivers providing palliative care at home, as a basis for assessment and interventions that will assist caregivers to hang on to hope. Nurses and other health care professionals need to recognize and value the experience of hope for caregivers by addressing, teaching, and reinforcing the sub-processes and ways of hanging on to hope into their practice.

Patienten mit hämatologischen Grunderkrankungen in der Palliativversorgung / Patients with hematological malignancies in specialised palliative care institutions

Hinse, Pauline Elisabeth 08 July 2015 (has links)

Van Zyl, Annemarie 04 1900 (has links)
Thesis (MA)--Stellenbosch University, 2003. / ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The farm Elandsvlei, situated approximately halfway between the towns Ceres and Calvinia in the Ceres-Karoo, was originally the eighteenth-century pioneer farm Elandsdrift. The farm initially had a number of owners in quick succession, after which Barend Lubbe received it as loan farm. His family grew rapidly and his son Frans eventually received Elandsdrift. Frans' daughter Johanna Adriana married Jacobus Petrus Hough, the son of a poor tailor who came to the Cape as a soldier of the DEIC and became a free burgher some years later. This was the first in a series of marriages between Lubbe women and Hough men and the result was that Elandsdrift, later to become Elandsvlei, became Hough property. Elandsvlei became an important centre for the community of the Ceres-Karoo. Among other things, the farm had a school and even a postal agency. The buildings on pioneer farms during the eighteenth century were generally very simple and primitive due to the circumstances under which the farmers were scraping together a living. A century later the situation has changed and the farmers were becoming more settled. Approximately in the period between 1830 and 1890 a number of interesting buildings were erected on Elandsvlei. Some of these were built with gracious Cape Dutch gables from the outset while others had gables added on at a later stage, so that the farm currently boasts a unique collection of buildings in the Cape Dutch style. The most important buildings were documented as part of this study by means of description, architectural drawings and photographs. Some buildings on the farm have already disappeared completely while others are in various stages of decay, mostly due to the fact that they are not utilised any more. It is essential that measures be taken immediately to save these buildings. Complete restoration is not called for seeing that, especially in the current financial climate, it is a problem to secure the necessary finances. The farm is already running a successful tourism business and it will be possible to incorporate the restored buildings into this business in a meaningful way.

[en] THE SPIRIT AND HOPE: A STUDY ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE CHRISTIAN HOPE IN JURGEN MOLTMANN S PNEUMATOLOGY / [pt] O ESPÍRITO E A ESPERANÇA: UM ESTUDO SOBRE A RELAÇÃO ENTRE O ESPÍRITO SANTO E A ESPERANÇA CRISTÃ NA PNEUMATOLOGIA DE JURGEN MOLTMANN

LUCAS SOARES DOS SANTOS 18 August 2017 (has links)
[en] The mission of the Holy Spirit has aspects that with the advancement of theology have gained more attention by theologians and the diverse Christian traditions. Jurgen Moltmann, among a large number of theologians, develops an original and complex reflection on the Holy Spirit, beginning with his famous Theology of Hope and having as its apex the production of the book The Spirit of Life, a work that he dedicates exclusively To reflection on the Holy Spirit. He will produce a Pneumatology that will be guided by his conception of Christian eschatology and by the biblical texts of the Apostle Paul. This research has as main objective to make an approach on how Jurgen Moltmann presents / displays the relation between the Holy Spirit and the Christian Hope taking as starting point the theological nods that it builds in the Theology of the Hope. Our approach will be divided into three different steps. At first, we will devote ourselves to presenting the main texts produced by theologians in reflecting on the Holy Spirit. Then this work will make a presentation of the main aspects of Pneumatologia moltmanianna through his main works. The final step is to discuss how Jurgen Moltmann understands the relationship between the Holy Spirit and Christian Hope. After the research, we conclude that our author produces a Pneumatology that must be read from the Eschatology that he promotes in his Theology of Hope. The Holy Spirit is understood as the life-giving power of God, which enables men and women to experience the promises of the future with God, partially, still in the present. He ensures that they will be fulfilled and propels the Church, which lives in this hope of a full realization of what has been promised, to walk within history by signaling the coming Kingdom through its actions.

Bailie's party of 1820 settlers

Nash, M D January 1981 (has links)
From preface: This study of the British settlers of 1820 in South Africa uses one party of emigrants as a unit of historical research. In unfolding their story, it attempts to discover how far the standard assumptions about the 1820 settlement are borne out by the historical facts. No systematic set of hypotheses for investigation was established in advance; instead, the structure of the thesis has been determined by the course of the narrative, and the main issues have emerged spontaneously as it has progressed. Although the chronology has been maintained as far as possible, the narrative itself does not follow an entirely straightforward course. The emigrant party of eighty-four men and their families under the leadership of John Bailie which is the subject of the study was officially subdivided five weeks after landing at Algoa Bay, and the dispersal of its members to the established towns of the colony began even sooner. At the end of the three-year period laid down as a residential qualification by Government, less than a third remained to claim land on the party's location in Albany.
