Návrh přední časti trupu letounu TL-4000 a zástavby motoru / Design of fore part of fuselage and engine mounting of TL-4000 aircraft

Löffelmann, František January 2014 (has links)
The thesis solves mounting of Continental IO-55ON to four-seat all composite aeroplane. Weight analysis of weights carried by engine mounting was done and loads of mounting and nose gear attached directly to mounting was computed according to CS-23 regulation. Mounting was designed based on affordable information about similar aeroplanes and it was sized due to Nastran/Patran system strength analysis. Further reinforcing of fire wall, engine covers and forms for their manufacture was suggested.

Ozvěny Ovidiových Proměn / Echoes of Ovid's Metamorphoses

Stašová, Ema January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this study is to compare selected episodes of Ovid's Metamorphoses with three works of modern literature containing the theme of metamorphosis, and to follow their intertextual relations, dependency and innovation of Ovidian themes. On the basis of a comparison of the ancient and the modern text it is examined which motives remain constant during centuries and which, on the contrary, are evolving and shifting their meanings. Through the perspective of the Metamorphoses an attempt is made to interpret the works from a less usual angle. The most significant Ovidian characters that are examined in this study are Teiresias, Daphne, Hyacinth, Orpheus, Ceres, Icarus, Callisto and Io.

Nanoparticules d'oxydes de fer et nanotubes de titanate pour l'imagerie multimodale et à destination de la thérapie anticancéreuse / Iron oxides nanoparticles and titanate nanotubes dedicated to multimodal imaging and anticancer therapy

Paris, Jérémy 13 December 2013 (has links)
The new implementations of nanoparticles in the medical field are one of the essential factors of the medical progress expected at the beginning of this XXIst century. Thus, the domain of the medical imaging is also affected by this technological evolution. This work consisted in developing theranostic probes with iron oxides nanoparticles (SPIO) and titanate nanotubes (TiONts) for multimodal imaging (magnetic/nuclear or magnetic/optical) and also possessing a therapeutic effect (hyperthermia/PDT or radiosensitization/PDT).The titanate nanotubes of this study have an average length of about 150 nm and were obtained by Kasuga's hydrothermal synthesis. These nanotubes present an outside diameter of about 10 nm and an intern cavity of 4 nm. On the other hand, iron oxides nanoparticles were synthesized by soft chemistry ("Massart" method). These spinel-like iron oxides nanoparticles have a crystallite size of 9 nm in diameter and exhibit a superparamagnetic behavior which was highlighted by FC / ZFC measurements. To get these nanoparticles ready to receive molecules of biological interest, two linkers of more reactive organic functions (APTES: NH2 or PHA: COOH) were grafted to the surface of these two types of nanoparticles. Their presence was shown by different techniques (XPS, IR, UV-vis). The amount of grafted linkers was determined by TGA and in all cases this amount is close to 5 molecules/nm2. First, titanate nanotubes were coated by a macrocyclic chelating agent (0.2 DOTA/nm2). After radiolabelling with indium 111, the TiONts – DOTA[In] nanohybrids were injected in Swiss nude mice and observed by SPECT/CT imaging to characterize their biodistribution. The SPECT/CT images and the radioactivity measured in each organ showed that after one hour, nanotubes are located in lungs and in urine. Then, the nanotubes are gradually eliminated and are only found in urines after 24 hours. The same macrocyclic agent was grafted to the SPIO’s surface for the creation of multimodal probes MRI/SPECT or MRI/PET. Alongside this study, a fluorophore (Zinc phthalocyanine) was also grafted to the surface of nanoparticles. The synthesized SPIO – Pc nanohybrid has the required properties of bimodal imaging MRI/OI probe thanks to his emission wavelength around 670 nm and its relaxivity is about 70 L.mmolFe3O4-1.s-1. Furthermore, nanohybrids were coated by PEG to make them stealth, biocompatible and stable. In this study, the toxicity of most nanohybrids was evaluated by the in vivo zebrafish model. The studied nanohybrids did not present any toxicity, hatching disruption or malformation on zebrafish larvae.

Du Toit, Hendrina Glaudina 19 May 2008 (has links)
After the democratic election of 1994, a new and integrated education system was developed in South Africa in accordance with international trends and the stipulations of the South African Bill of Rights with regard to equality, human dignity, basic education and equal access to education. According to the inclusive education system, learners with learning and developmental barriers should be accommodated within the mainstream of education. In order for inclusive education to succeed, a network of support was developed on departmental, provincial, district and school level. At school level, the school-based support team is directly responsible for supporting learners with learning and developmental barriers, educators and parents/caregivers. The effectiveness of these school-based support teams will, eventually, determine the quality of this inclusive education approach. The question which guided this research, is: How effectively does the school-based support team fullfil its function in the teaching and learning of learners with learning and developmental barriers within the framework of inclusive education? A qualitative research design was chosen which is exploratory, descriptive and explanatory. After an initial literature study in which international and national trends in this field were investigated, five primary mainstream schools were selected in the Western Cape according to certain criteria. A pilot study was conducted in another school to refine data collection strategies. Information was then gathered in the five schools by means of structured questionnaires, individual and focus group interviews, field notes and the study of appropriate documents. In order to evaluate these teams, eleven criteria were designed to serve collectively as an evaluation instrument. The effectiveness of the school-based support teams in the five schools were subsequently assessed and placed in various categories according to a conceptual framework. It was found that the school-based support teams function relatively effectively in most areas. The composition of the teams is effective. However, the teams function ineffectively with regard to the orientation and training of their members, as well as of the teachers and parents/caregivers of learners with learning and developmental barriers / Thesis (PhD (Educational Psychology))--University of Pretoria, 2008. / Educational Psychology / unrestricted

Selection of industrial and organisational psychology master's students: exploring the validity of applied psychometric measures

Olivier, Karina Cornelia 10 1900 (has links)
The objective of this study was to investigate how well the academic performance of the Industrial and Organisational Psychology master’s students at a research institution can be predicted through psychometric measures. A non-experimental design was used in this empirical study. The sample consisted of one hundred and thirty-three IO Psychology master’s students over a five-year period. The secondary data for this research originated from the students completing the Graduate Verify Ability tests as well as the Occupational Personality Questionnaire, which are psychometric measures that form part of the selection. Both psychometric measures load onto the Person Job Match competencies. A theoretical relationship could be found between the Ability tests and academic success as well as the PJM competencies that included weighted scores from both psychometric measures. The empirical relationships, therefore, proved that the ability tests have the strongest predictive ability for academic success. / Industrial and Organisational Psychology / M. Com.

Leveau, Corinne 12 1900 (has links)
Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) is a complex chronic disease with debilitating smyptoms and unknown etiology. Symptoms vary in frequency and severity from a person with ME (PwME) to another, thus creating a highly clinically heterogeneous patient population. Some PwME also experience orthostatic intolerance (OI) episodes or live with a comorbidity of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), two conditions that are not well understood. Post-exertional malaise (PEM) causes patients to experience a worsening of their symptoms following an effort, whether it be physical or mental. PEM can last from a few hours to several days. In PwME with POTS/OI, PEM can trigger orthostatic intolerance episodes. SLC6A2 is a gene coding for the norepinephrine transporter NET. Its contribution to the POTS pathophysiology has been mentioned several times in literature. A biochemical milieu prone to vasodilation was also reported as a contributing element to POTS pathophysiology. Recently, our laboratory published an article identifying a panel of eleven microRNAs (miRNAs) differentially expressed in PwME. Among these miRNAs, miR-150-5p has been predicted to target SLC6A2. Our hypothesis was that higher expression of miR-150-5p following an effort or a decrease in circulating thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1) inducing vasodilation could contribute to POTS/OI symptoms. We measured circulating levels of miR-150-5p and TSP-1 before (T0) and after (T90) PEM induction in PwME (n = 117), PwME with POTS/OI (n = 20) and age and sex matched sedentary controls (n = 48). We demonstrated that PwME with POTS/OI have higher levels of miR-150-5p at both T0 and T90, while also having more severe symptoms. Furthermore, we used the connected vest Hexoskin (Carré Technologies Inc., Montreal, Qué., Canada) to follow a subgroup (n = 10) of patients for a longer period following PEM induction. With this tool, we were able to monitor symptoms on a daily basis, allowing better clinical follow-up. Overall, this project allowed better understanding of ME and POTS’ pathophysiology.

CoFramer : Ett diskussionsformat för djupa diskussioner på publika forum med låg Information Overload inspirerat av Philosophy for Children / CoFramer : A discussion format for deeper discussions on public forums with low information overload inspired by Philosophy for Children

Lundberg, Christoffer January 2019 (has links)
2.      Concept Exploration – Åtta olika designaspekter identifieras utifrån jämförelsetabellen. 3.      Internal Concept Critique – Designaspekterna jämförs med två snarlika diskussionsformat. 4.      Design of Artifacts – Designkoncept version 1 skapas. 5. / The focus of this essay is to develop a design concept for online public discussions with deep discussions and low information overload. The method used is Concept Driven Interaction Design (CDID) which involves constructing a design concept by applying a variety of theories in tangible interaction design. A design concept has three basic parts: a name, high-level goals and outlines generic principles. CDID includes seven steps which is used in this work: 1.      Concept Generation – Formatted into a table that compare forum discussion (with several hypothesis) compared to discussions with the method Philosophy for Children (P4C) and other theories. 2.      Concept Exploration – Eight distinct design aspects are identified from the comparison table. 3.      Internal Concept Critique – The design aspects are compared to three similar discussion formats. 4.      Design of Artifacts – Design concept version 1 is created. 5.      External Design Critique – Interviews are conducted to explore their general experience of online discussions, investigate the hypothesis from the comparison table and to seek direct feedback on the first draft of the design concept. 6.      Concept Revisited – Changes are made to the design concept based on the interview material and the direct feedback. 7.      Concept Contextualization – The design concept is related to the original literature. The result of the study is a design concept named CoFramer. CoFramer’s generic principles are summarized and contrasted against factors identified from the interview material in this table: Tabell 2: CoFramer’s generic principles and interviews about online discussions. CoFramer’s generic principles | From interview material on forum discussion Organized start and ending | Discussions without clear ending Limited number of participants | Large number of participants Minimum number of participants | Large number of inactive spectators Explicit participants | Low information about participants Common conditions | Vagueness in participants conditions Limited information density per post | Long posts and/or fast posts The red thread and parallel threads | Often parallel threads Active facilitator | Unresolved misunderstandings The study indicates that CoFramer would create more structured discussions with a lower amount of information overload and less grounding cost compared what normally arise in public online discussions.
