No / This paper presents a discussion based on a literature review and a case study on the suitability of using an intranet as a platform to implement Knowledge Management System (KMS). A description of Knowledge Management (KM) and the current research carried out in this area, with examples of web-based KMS systems currently implemented in organisations, are presented. Further, this paper then describes how knowledge mapping of an organisation's intranet as a form of a KMS can be used to promote the re-utilisation of knowledge, which will contribute to the competitiveness of the organisation. A case study that illustrates and presents evidence of the need and suitability of such a system is provided. The paper ends with a proposal for future research to be carried out in this area.

The research conducted in this study aims to answer if it would be possible to gamify an Intranet for a Municipality (Ekerö Municipality in Sweden) and it also investigates what usability needs are the most important to meet. The study is based on Delone and McLean's IS success model. Furthermore, there is an assumption that there is too much irrelevant information on the old intranet. The study is based on qualitative interviews and shows that the employees of the municipality are affected by the qualities of the success model, information quality, functionality, and service. It also shows that personalization, as well as good user-friendliness and well-structured content, are values appreciated by employees. The users are also positively set for gamification.

This research proposed to investigate how to develop and implant a corporate portal to assist in knowledge management in a Private Institution of Higher Education, based on people, information and organizational strategy. Considering the peculiarities of the context and academic knowledge, more specifically, it referred to a proposal to build a conceptual model of corporate portal for knowledge management in the academic context, based on organizational knowledge of a Private Institution of Higher Education. The research of this dissertation, of qualitative and quantitative nature, is characterized as a case study. The goals were achieved through a combination of two lines of action: the first related to the theoretical construction based on literature, and the second consists of a questionnaire applied to the technical-administrative employees of private institution of higher education (IESP). Based on the methods employed, it was possible to: a. collect the informational and knowledge needs of the IESP employees; b. verify how information and knowledge are treated in the institution in order to be linked to the organizational strategy; c. study the types of existing portals; and d. study the information and knowledge management in private institutions of higher education . From these results it was possible to delineate a conceptual model of portal for the management of knowledge in its tacit and explicit part in the academic context. / Esta pesquisa se propôs a investigar como desenvolver e implantar um portal corporativo para auxiliar na gestão do conhecimento em uma Instituição de Ensino Superior Privada, com base em pessoas, informação e estratégia organizacional. Tendo em vista as peculiaridades do contexto e do conhecimento acadêmico, mais especificamente, referiu-se a uma proposta de construção de um modelo conceitual de portal corporativo para a gestão do conhecimento no contexto acadêmico, tendo por base o conhecimento organizacional de uma instituição de ensino superior privada. De natureza quali-quantitativa, a pesquisa desta dissertação caracteriza-se como estudo de caso. Os objetivos foram alcançados por meio da combinação de duas linhas de ação: a primeira relacionada à construção teórica realizada com base na literatura, e a segunda constituída de questionário, aplicado aos colaboradores técnico administrativos da instituição de ensino superior privada (IESP). Com base nos métodos empregados, foi possível: a. levantar as necessidades informacionais e de conhecimento dos colaboradores da IESP; b. verificar como a informação e conhecimento são tratados na instituição de forma a estar articulado à estratégia organizacional; c. estudar os tipos de portais existentes; e d. estudar a informação e a gestão do conhecimento em instituições de ensino superior privadas. A partir desses resultados, foi possível delinear um modelo conceitual de portal para a gestão do conhecimento em sua vertente tácita e explícita no contexto acadêmico.

Kravinsamling görs inför ett systemutvecklingsprojekt för att identifiera användarnas behov och önskade effekter med systemet. Ett problem för många system är att valet av teknik påverkas allt för mycket av vilka tekniker som finns i företaget och är i många fall förutbestämt, istället för att baseras på behov och krav som ställs på systemet. Effektkartläggning är en metod som kan användas för kravinsamling, men metoden har inte fokus på tekniska funktioner. Eftersom tekniken ofta är förutbestämd måste den beaktas redan under kravinsamlingen. Frågan är därför hur man kan använda effektkartläggning för att den ändå ska vara ett stöd vid val av teknik. Syftet med det här examensarbetet har varit att utvärdera metoden effektkartläggning genom en metodanalys enligt metoden MA/SIMM, för att ta fram ett förslag på hur metoden bör användas för att vara ett stöd vid val av teknik för applikationstyp och cms för att nå önskad effekt vid utveckling av ett mobilt intranät. För att kunna besvara syftet har två frågeställningar tagits fram:  Hur bör metoden effektkartläggning användas för att vara ett stöd vid val av teknik för applikationstyp och cms för ett mobilt intranät?  Vilka faktorer bör beaktas vid val av teknik för applikationstyp och cms för att nå önskad effekt vid utveckling av ett mobilt intranät? För att identifiera faktorerna har litteraturstudier och intervjuer genomförts. Resultatet av vilka faktorer som bör beaktas vid val av teknik är en lista på 13 faktorer som grovt kan delas in i faktorer för applikationstyp och cms. Metoden effektkartläggning har analyserats utifrån ett teoretiskt och ett situationellt perspektiv. Resultatet av metodanalysen visar att systemutvecklare bör involveras tidigare i processen, metoder som säkerställer att outtalade krav dokumenteras bör användas samt tre förändringar i effektkartans notation behövs för att effektkartläggning ska vara ett stöd vid val av teknik. / Requirements gathering is done before system development to identify the needs and desired effects with the system. A problem for many systems is that the choice of technology is influenced too much by the techniques available in the company and in many cases is predetermined, instead of being based on the needs and demands of the system. Impact mapping is a method that can be used for requirements gathering, but the method does not focus on technical features. Since technology often is predetermined, it must be taken into consideration during requirements gathering. The question is therefore how to use impact mapping as a support in the choice of technology. The purpose of this study has been to evaluate the method impact mapping using the method MA/SIMM, to develop a suggestion on how the method should be used as a support in selecting the technology of application type and CMS to achieve the desired effects in the development of a mobile intranet. The study is based on two research questions:  How should impact mapping be used as a support in selecting the technology for application type and CMS for a mobile intranet?  What factors should be considered when selecting the technology of application type and CMS to achieve the desired effects in the development of a mobile intranet? Literature studies and interviews have been conducted to identify factors. The result of which factors that should be considered when selecting the technology is a list of 13 factors that, roughly, can be divided into factors for application type and factors for CMS. The method impact mapping has been analyzed from a theoretical and a situational perspective. The result of the method analysis shows that developers should be involved earlier in the process, methods to ensure that unspoken requirements are documented should be used and three changes in the notation for the impact map is needed for impact mapping to be a support for the choice of technique.

The Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) is an information technology (IT) services contract to provide to provide secure universal access to integrated voice, video and data communications; eliminate interoperability problems and remove network impediments to improve productivity and speed of command to the shore-based components of the Navy and Marine Corps. The NMCI contract is the procurement of IT services based on a commercial model of Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Under this model, the emphasis is placed on the verification, validation, and monitoring of the end-user services and not on the underlying infrastructure of systems. The research explores the current implementing effort of NMCI and analyzes the way this common network capability is tested and monitored. This thesis will provide a single source of information for managers seeking to quickly understand the impact of NMCI as an enterprise level asset. I dag så sprids information på ett helt annat sätt än vad den gjorde för både fem och tjugo år sedan och i takt med att tekniken utvecklas så förändras vårt sätt att ta del av information. På många arbetsplatser så är informationsspridning en central del av verksamheten, och tidigare forskning har visat att effektiv spridning av information ökar möjligheterna för företaget att utvecklas. Denna studie har undersökt hur information bör kommuniceras till medarbetare inom en organisation. En åtskillnad mellan kanal och medium har gjort det möjligt att särskilja hur information meddelas och hur den presenteras. Detta har lett till ett resultat som visar på att medarbetare på företaget föredrar att få information presenterad för sig muntligt, och att det finns en viss skillnad när information skall meddelas. Studien grundar sig i en fallstudie inom ett företag som är verksamt inom el- och teknikbranschen. För att kunna generera en tydlig bild av hur informationsspridningen ser ut på företaget så har en kvalitativ intervju genomförts, vilket har kopplats samman med en mer specifik enkätundersökning. / Today information dissemination is completely different comparing to both five and twenty years ago, and as the technology develops, so does our way of accessing information. In many workplaces information dissemination is a key process and previous research has shown that effective information sharing increases the potential for the company to develop. This study has examined how information ought to be communicated to cowerkers within a company. A distinction has been made between channel and medium and has made it possible to determine how information is being notified and how information is being presented. This has led to a result showing that coworkers prefers information being presented orally, and that it is a difference when the same information is being notified. The study is based on a case study within a company active in the electrical and engineering industry. A qualitative interview and a quantitative survey has made it possible to generate a clear picture of how the information dissemination looks like in the specified company.

L'appropriation d'une Technologie de l'Information et de la Communication en entreprise à partir des relations entre Usage Conception-Vision

La thèse défendue porte sur la compréhension des mécanismes inhérents au processus de l'appropriation d'une TIC en entreprise à partir des relations entre Usage-Conception–Vision. Le cadre théorique original développé permet de proposer d'intégrer trois variables, explicatives du phénomène, souvent traitées séparément dans les modèles proposés en Système d'Information : usage, conception et vision. Afin d'offrir un modèle d'analyse intégrant ces différents éléments, l'auteur articule la perspective structurationniste développée par Orlikowski (2000) pour saisir l'usage réel, la théorie de la conception collective d'Hatchuel (1994, 1996) pour comprendre la conception, et le concept de Vision de Mobilité Stratégique (Maurice et Alii, 1987), en combinaison avec le concept de Vision Organisante (Swanson et Ramiller, 1997) pour appréhender la vision. Pour illustrer son modèle d'analyse, le recours à l'étude de cas unique a été choisi. Une étude de quatre année (2001 à 2005) a été réalisée au sein de la DRH du groupe Aéro, portant sur l'analyse de l'appropriation d'un Intranet RH par l'utilisateur Management Intermédiaire, présenté comme un acteur clef dans la transformation attendue de la fonction RH. Différents résultats émergent. Concernant l'usage des TIC en entreprise, une typologie d'utilisateurs est notée : le « super technicien », le « patron de chaîne », l' « artisan industriel » et « l'électron libre ». Chacun ayant un positionnement et un usage spécifique vis à vis l'intranet RH. Cela montre à la fois l'effet de la nature de l'activité et de la structure organisationnelle sur les pratiques et la difficulté pour les concepteurs de gérer la pluralité des usages. Concernant la conception, l'étude met en lumière le rôle capital d'un prescripteur, bien identifié, qui assigne les objectifs de création et garantie l'équilibre entre les prescriptions et les stratégies individuelles de l'ensemble des concepteurs inclus dans le projet de création. Quant aux relations entre les trois variables clefs, le résultat le plus marquant concerne le double effet de la variable « Vision de Mobilité Stratégique » sur les usages : un effet direct à travers la force de l'engagement des décideurs et indirect via le processus de conception. Plus globalement, on note un enrichissement de la définition de l'appropriation d'une TIC reposant sur la rencontre entre trois processus : celui par lequel l'individu va rendre une TIC propre à son usage à travers ses actions, le processus de conception permanent associée à une TIC et l'évolution de la vision de mobilité stratégique que les décideurs associent à la TIC dans leur stratégie de changement.

Cette thèse décrit comment divers réseaux, regroupés plus ou moins artificiellement sous le terme générique de réseau numérique éducatif, se sont développés dans le système scolaire français de 1987 à 2005.<br />Son premier objet est de montrer comment les contributions de la télématique, des réseaux locaux, d'Internet, des Intranet et des espaces numériques se sont ajoutées les unes aux autres pour former un ensemble stratifié. Le second est d'examiner comment ces réseaux se sont installés comme une composante du développement d'une communication scolaire médiatisée.<br />Ce processus est appréhendé sous les éclairages de la technique, des usages et de l'organisation, selon des niveaux de développement qui se déplacent progressivement de l'individu et de l'établissement vers d'autres échelles : l'académie, le territoire, la collectivité, le système éducatif. <br />La démarche de recherche s'inspire de la théorie de l'acteur-réseau appliquée dans une perspective visant à examiner les modalités d'innovations sociotechniques. La globalité de l'approche « du » réseau considéré comme un processus d'innovation conduit à cerner son cadre fonctionnel dans sa construction et son évolution. Les modalités de réalisation de l'alliage sociotechnique montrent la diversité et l'importance des enjeux et des acteurs. Les processus itératif de controverses et d'alignements stratégiques qui les animent révèlent de quelle manière le réseau numérique éducatif devient un facteur d'unité technique, éducative et stratégique.<br />Les travaux conduits mettent en évidence cinq tendances lourdes : l'organisation progressive d'une architecture globale d'information, l'affirmation de l'importance d'une démarche stratégique, des dynamiques d'usage qui passent au second, une logique d'industrialisation et une extension progressive du domaine scolaire vers le domicile. Leur caractère concomitant est déterminant dans un processus général de globalisation et de banalisation des fonctions communicationnelles scolaires.
