Sociala intranät - ett intranät för alla? : Uppfattningar bland leverantörer och beställare / Social Intranet - an intranet for everyone? : Perceptions among suppliers and clients.

A social intranet is an information and communication channel that is relatively new. There is still a small amount of research done around social intranet and what it is, and also on what organizations and their members may benefit from using such an intranet. Therefore, this paper was written with the purpose to em-phasize the reasons, possibilities and difficulties of implementing and using a so-cial intranet. With interview as method we took part of the experiences and views on social intranet from a number of organizations that are using or is about to establish a social intranet, and also from companies who deliver the service. Through the use of previous research in organizational communication, we then analysed the responses we received from our respondents. Our results and con-clusions show that social intranet are meant to open up a two-way communication in the organization and should be seen as a work tool. Employees get a chance to contribute information and knowledge on the intranet, which creates a greater participation and solidarity in the organization. The results also showed interest-ing differences in perceptions of social intranet between suppliers and clients. The big difference here was how far the employees would be involved in the process of creating a social intranet. Suppliers pushed more on employee involvement than some of the clients did. Differences that existed in both groups were also how they termed social intranets, and how they named the various groups that can be created in the social intranets. / Sociala intranät är en informations- och kommunikationskanal som är relativt ny och det finns ännu inte så mycket forskning kring sociala intranät, vad det är för något och vad organisationer och dess medlemmar kan ha för nytta av ett sådant intranät. Därför skrevs denna uppsats med syftet att belysa just orsaker, möjlig-heter och svårigheter med att införa och använda ett socialt intranät. Med intervju som metod har vi fått ta del av erfarenheter och åsikter om sociala intranät från ett flertal organisationer som använder eller ska införa ett socialt intranät, och även från företag som levererar tjänsten. Genom att använda oss av tidigare forsk-ning inom organisationskommunikation har vi sedan analyserat de svar vi fått av våra respondenter. Resultatet och slutsatserna visar bland annat att sociala intranät ska öppna upp för en tvåvägskommunikation i organisationen och ska ses som ett arbetsverktyg. Genom att de anställda får bidra med information och kunskap på intranätet skapar det en större delaktighet och gemenskap i organisationen. Resultatet visade även intressanta skillnader i uppfattningar om socialt intranät mellan leverantörer och beställare. Den stora skillnaden här var i hur stor utsträck-ning de anställa skulle vara delaktiga i processen av att skapa ett socialt intranät. Leverantörerna tryckte mer på de anställdas inblandning än vad några av bestäl-larna gjorde. Skillnader som fanns inom de båda grupperna var även hur de be-nämnde sociala intranät samt vad de kallade de olika grupper som går att skapa i de sociala intranäten.

The aim of this dissertation was firstly to review and analyze an effectiveness of a current marketing strategy within the selected company FCD s.r.o. in Kosmonosy by Mladá Boleslav and secondly to try to find and suggest an own solution in order to improve the marketing area. The company runs a business in very specific area of car diagnostic consulting. In the first part of this work you can find an analyses of the current stage of marketing activities. The company which entered the market in 2005 has already gained the respect of many respected authorities for its quality and wide range of provided services. The strenghts of the company are by my opinion primarily in very good functioning, interesting vision and clever strategy of the company. Very good example of all this is functioning of the FCD s.r.o.` s portal which is by my personal view perfectly timed. On the other hand I find the level of the marketing activities (and marketing functioning at all) as very unsatisfying, mostly due to a lack of marketing planning. It is also quite obvious that the company has very big reserves in marketing research and uses a wrong horizontal communication within the company. As far as a second part of the project is concerned there has been suggested an own alternative way of handling the marketing activities. There have been suggested some changes in following areas: 1. It is an absolute necessity to elaborate a marketing plan of the company 2. It is necessary to name a person who will be in charge of the marketing activities of the company 3. To improve marketing information system (starting from more effective data collection) 4. To improve horizontal communication within the company 5. To improve company{\crq} s Intranet and it{\crq} s usage by individual employees in order to expand an awareness of marketing and marketing activities across the whole company

Intranet is today a common technical groupware to communicate in many organisations. People can interact through the Intranet and communicate within the organization and get relevant information according to their workplace. It can be difficult to get everybody to use the Intranet as an information- and communication tool. This causes problems when people want to reach out with information. With these thoughts we entered our work at Luftfartsverket at Arlanda airport. The main goal for us has been to find out how they reach out with information in a large company where there are many different employees with different work situations. We choose to be in a department where the computer is not used in their daily work situations. The reason for our choice of department was because the problem of information is most common where the computer is not used as a natural extension of their work situations. We have also focused on how the employees get information today, and which ways they appreciate the most. To find out the reasons why the Intranet is not used as much as the head of department wishes, we have used several qualitative methods such as interviews, mock-up, Future Workshop etc. From the reflections and results of our methods we have found several solutions on how the presentation of the information can be improved

Intranät : En studie kring tillvägagångssätt vid införande av intranät

Informationsteknologin (IT) är i dagens samhälle en förutsättning för företag ochorganisationers utveckling och konkurrenskraft. En av de stora utmaningarna är att hanterade ökade mängderna information på ett effektivt sätt. Ett verktyg för det är att investera iett intranät som stödjer den interna informationen och kommunikationen i verksamheten.Det finns ett identifierat gap i teorin kring tillvägagångssätt vid införande av intranät blandsmå- och medelstora företag. Syftet med uppsatsen är att studera tillvägagångssätt vid införande av intranät i små- och medelstoraföretag samt att ta fram rekommendationer för ett intranätinförande. Utifrån syftet har ett tolkande förhållningssätt enligt aktionsforskningsmetoden använts dåjag själv varit delaktig i det som undersökts. Den empiriska datainsamlingen har utökatsgenom en intervju med ett företag som infört ett intranät samt en intervju med enintranätkonsult. Den teoretiska referensramen syftar till att stödja förståelsen för införande av intranät ochtar exempelvis upp vad ett intranät är, orsaker till misslyckade intranät samt metoder ochmodeller som kan vara lämpliga vid ett intranätinförande. De empiriska data har samlats infrån ett företag som infört intranät samt från en konsult som arbetat med intranät. I analysen har en diskussion förts kring insamlad teori och empiri vilket har mynnat ut istudiens slutsatser. Studien har pekat på ett antal faktorer som är viktiga att tänka på vidintranätinförande. Dessa är: Bygga upp stöd från verksamheten Nulägesanalys för att undersöka behovet Användarmedverkan Förankring och kommunikation Stöd från utomstående konsult De vanligaste misstagen vid intranätinförande är Brist på initialt stöd från verksamhetenoch Inte tillräckligt fokus på användarna. Jag rekommenderar att studera de agila metoderna närmare då de lämpar sig bra för mindreprojekt där förändringar kan uppstå under projektets gång. Varje enskild verksamhetbehöver dock utifrån de förutsättningar som finns besluta vilken metod som ska tillämpas.Förankring och användarmedverkan bör prioriteras redan i det initiala arbetet medintranätet. / Information technology (IT) is a prerequisite for companies and organizations'development and competitiveness. One of the major challenges is to manage the increasingamounts of information in an efficient manner. One solution is to invest in an intranet thatsupports the business' internal information and communication. There is an identified gapin theory regarding how to implement intranets among small-and medium-sized businesses. The purpose of this thesis is to study the approach for how to implement intranets intosmall and medium-sized enterprises and develop recommendations for an intranetimplementation. An interpretive approach according to the action research method was applied because Iwas involved in what was studied. Besides the action research the empirical data consiststwo interviews, one with a company who has implemented an intranet and one with anintranet consultant. The theoretical framework is aimed to support the understanding of the implementation ofintranets and describes for example what an intranet is, reasons for failure of the intranet aswell as methods and models that may be suitable for an intranet implementation. Theempirical data is gathered from a company that has implemented an intranet and from aconsultant who works with intranets. The analysis contains a discussion around the theoretical framework and empirical data andsubsequently led to the conclusions of the study. The study has identified a number offactors that are important to have in mind when implementing an intranet. These are: Support from the organization Analysis of the current situation to examine the need User involvement Establishment and communication Support from external consultant The most common mistakes in intranet implementations are Lack of initial support fromthe organization and Not enough focus on users. I recommend studying the Agile methods more closely because they are suitable for smallerprojects where changes can occur during the project. Every organization need to decidewhich method to use based on the existing conditions. Establishment and userinvolvement should be prioritized from the initial work with the intranet.

Intranät : En teoriprövande studie tillämpad hos Sydved AB

During twelve weeks of practice experience at the company Sydved AB, I received the mission to develop a structure for the company’s internal communication. A part of this mission was to find out what the company’s employees thought of Sydveds internal communication and the most important; Sydveds intranet called “Outlook”. Due to Sydveds plans of developing the intranet I designed and accomplished an inquiry-study to find out about the employee’s opinions on the company´s internal communication and in particular their intranet. The answers I want from this study are if I shaped the inquiry-study correctly the first time. Could I have done it in another, better way? What do scientists say about how to accomplish a qualitative inquiry-study? For this purpose I have decided to apply a theory based study on my first inquiry-study, based on three different methods; literature study, analytic induction and theory probation. The outcomes of the three different studies have developed my method. This new method describes how a qualitative inquiry-study through scientifically basis should be accomplished. / Under mina tolv veckors praktik på företaget Sydved AB fick jag i uppdrag att kartlägga en struktur för företagets interna informationsflöde. En del av uppdraget var att ta reda på vad Sydveds medarbetare ansåg om företagets interna kommunikation och framförallt dess intranät, ”Outlook”. Enligt Sydveds planer att utveckla och förbättra intranätet, utformade och genomförde jag en enkätundersökning för att få reda på medarbetarnas åsikter om företagets interna kommunikation och intranät. Med hjälp av denna studie vill jag få svar på om jag utformade enkätundersökningen korrekt under min praktik på Sydved. Kunde jag gjort på ett annorlunda sätt? Vad säger forskningen om hur en kvalitativ enkätundersökning bör utformas? För att få svar på dessa frågor har jag tillämpat en metodutveckling av min enkätundersökning utifrån tre olika studier; litteraturstudie, analytisk induktion samt teoriprövning. Resultaten från dessa tre studier har lett till min metodutveckling. Denna nya metod beskriver hur en liknande enkätundersökning med vetenskaplig bas bör utformas.

My study focuses on methods of the human resources management in an information company. Human resources management and personal information systems present nowadays a very important aspect not only in terms of a management but also in terms of long-term company strategies. Proper human resources management and information system functioning provide an organization with a priceless competitive advantage in the form of effective usage of human resources. At first, human resources management is examined from the theoretic point of view and after that these theoretical needs are set against possibilities of a usage of personal information systems. Consequently, different functions of personal information systems and their supply on the Czech market are analyzed. In the separate chapter I bring in a practical example which summarizes the present state of human resources management and personal information systems in the Tyllco s.r.o. company and which also comprises my recommendation for an improvement.

The main goal of this final thesis "Internal information system solution design in Holmes Place company" (Information requirenment solution in the company, Holmes Place) is the analysis of processes in Holmes Place and a proposal for a solution to the identified information requirements via implementation of an intranet. The analysis of the current situation in the company has been performed by identification of the Weaknesses and Strengths of the company using the methodology of SWOT analysis; the effective solutions to identified weaknesses are described in the later chapters of this thesis. The result of the analysis indicates that the most critical issue in all departments (Sales, Marketing, IT, Studio management etc.) of the company is a deficient communication structure particularly between internal and external processes. Implementation of an enterprise intranet which would allow the sharing of documents and information has been chosen as the optimal solution for this problem. Drawing from the work experience and current employment of the author, the intranet selected is Microsoft SharePoint 2013. The implementation and structure of MS SharePoint 2013 has been based on theoretical resources focused on Information requirenment, transformation points and data objects. In the practical part of this thesis, the author has focused on the functionality of the application and the specific benefits for the company. As a result, this analysis represents materials which can be used by the management of the company as a final specification of functionalities. Another important condition of implementation is security of information and risk minimisation. The conclusion and recommendations reached will provide Holmes Place with the benefits of efficiency improvement and management optimisation. Thanks to the improved internal communication between employees, the Information requirenment inside all company departments within the Czech Republic and abroad will be fulfilled.

Many companies use intranets where only authorized personnel can share, create, and access news, events, and knowledge in a company. An intranet is a web application with dynamic content. It consists of various functions and features that facilitate the information management and knowledge flow within the company. The main goal of this project is to create and design an intranet demo that is adaptable and extendable by companies and organizations. The intranet contains various primary functions that users can interact with. The designed intranet is based on the EPiServer Content Management System framework and is programmed in back-end and front-end with the Visual Studio IDE tool. The back- end part is mainly programmed in C# language to create functions and logic such as the intranet structure and then linked to the front-end part where the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript library React is used to encode the front-end and get a user interface. The finalized intranet contains various primary functions where authorized employees have individual profiles with their status and contact information. Users can share corporate events and access corporate news. / Många företag använder intranät där endast auktoriserad personal har tillgång till att dela, skapa och komma åt nyheter, händelser och kunskap inom företaget. Intranät är en webbapplikation med dynamiskt innehåll. Den består av olika funktioner som underlättar informationshantering och kunskapsflöde inom företaget. Målet med detta projekt är att skapa och designa en intranätdemo som är anpassningsbar och extensibel för företag och organisationer. Intranätet innehåller olika primära funktioner som användarna kan interagera med.
