Smart task logging : Prediction of tasks for timesheets with machine learning

Bengtsson, Emil, Mattsson, Emil January 2018 (has links)
Every day most people are using applications and services that are utilising machine learning, in some way, without even knowing it. Some of these applications and services could, for example, be Google’s search engine, Netflix’s recommendations, or Spotify’s music tips. For machine learning to work it needs data, and often a large amount of it. Roughly 2,5 quintillion bytes of data are created every day in the modern information society. This huge amount of data can be utilised to make applications and systems smarter and automated. Time logging systems today are usually not smart since users of these systems still must enter data manually. This bachelor thesis will explore the possibility of applying machine learning to task logging systems, to make it smarter and automated. The machine learning algorithm that is used to predict the user’s task, is called multiclass logistic regression, which is categorical. When a small amount of training data was used in the machine learning process the predictions of a task had a success rate of about 91%.

Creating Interactive Visualizations for Twitter Datasets using D3

Björck, Olof January 2018 (has links)
Project Meme Evolution Programme (Project MEP) is a research program directed by Raazesh Sainudiin, Uppsala University, Sweden, that collects and analyzes datasets from Twitter. Twitter can be used to understand how ideas spread in social media. This project aims to produce interactive visualizations for datasets collected in Project MEP. Such interactive visualizations will facilitate exploratory data analysis in Project MEP. Several technologies had to be learned to produce the visualizations, most notably JavaScript, D3, and Scala. Three interactive visualizations were produced; one that allows for exploration of a Twitter user timeline and two that allows for exploration and understanding of a Twitter retweet network. The interactive visualizations are accessible as Scala functions and in a website developed in this project and uploaded to GitHub. The interactive visulizations contain some known bugs but they still allow for useful exploratory data analysis of Project MEP datasets and the project goal is therefore considered met. / Project Meme Evolution Programme

Expanding a Motion Controlled Game With Focus on Maintainability

Hedbäck, Andreas, Ayar, Deniz January 2018 (has links)
Motion controlled games can be a good physical activity for children, but the game has to be fun and engaging. We have, with a starting point in an existing base game, developed an achievement module which follows certain code standards to make it easier to understand, and to make hand overs of the code smoother. More work on the rest of the game has also been done to make it more engaging, while clean up of the existing code to follow the same standards.

Survey data visualization in a web environment

Albinsson, Hannes, Bengtsson, Emil January 2018 (has links)
Briteback Explore is a service provided by the company Briteback. The service provides a survey tool to its users that allows access to results through the downloading of a comma-separated values (CSV) -file. What was built was a visualization model that provides the survey tool’s users with a graphical representation of the data directly through the service. Providing an overview of the survey results that lessens the amount of information overload perceived by the user while giving the data a structure. A survey based off of the System Usability Scale (SUS) evaluation method was then performed to display to what degree users found the new feature usable. Results showed a satisfactory high score on the SUS adjective rating scale.

Internt administrationssystem till företaget Ehandelssupport

Johansen, Joel January 2017 (has links)

W3C Geolocation API ur ett utvecklarperspektiv / W3C Geolocation API from a developer’s perspective

Jönsson, Jesper January 2012 (has links)
The goal of this thesis is to investigate the W3C Geolocation API from a developer’s perspective, focused on whether it makes development of location-based applications more accessible to developers. This has been investigated by looking at available ways to locate, possible uses, the functionality offered, the necessary level of prior knowledge needed for a developer and requirements on developer tools. This has been achieved through studies in relevant areas, a thorough introduction to W3C Geolocation API functionality, and by using the API to develop two different location-based applications as a demonstration. Testing of applications, on different platforms and in different environments, in conjunction with investigation of the rest of the material has shown that W3C Geolocation API in many ways actually makes development of location-based applications more accessible for developers. The API also provides fully adequate functionality and quality to meet the requirements for development of both simple and very advanced location-based applications.
