The research aims an interdisciplinary reflection that raises the need to recognize the school as environment directed to social life, a cheerful space, not only as preparation space for productive activity or in accordance with the existing social model. The research to deepen the discussion was divided into literature and field researches in its qualitative characteristics. Students, teachers and principals were interviewed in a non-directive approach and through focus groups, in order to understand the extent to which school discipline is seen as a problem, how it is treated and what can be expected of a school environment with regard to acceptance of the various primary cultures. What is proposed is that a different purpose is assigned to the school space, as a social space effectively democratic, where it possible to build knowledge, (re) create the cultural heritage and cultivate joy, spontaneity and free expression. In this perspective, it is proposed to the school environment another meaning to dealing with discipline.

Alegria e felicidade: a experiência do processo liberador em Espinosa / Joy and happiness: the experience of the liberator process in Spinoza

Marcos Ferreira de Paula 28 August 2009 (has links)
The Ethics of Spinoza\'s ontology of the necessary, from which to infer an ontology of joy. Therefore, in the experience of human emotions, the liberator process that leads to happiness is determined by the experience of joy. It starts in the field same of passives joys, field in which the sadness also mark their presence. Negative presence, a hand, as it involves reduction of our capacity to act and think, on the other hand, positive presence, while teaching experience: a sadness, not for itself but for its specific relationship with the joy, teaches body and mind to cope better with the joys that we are always determined to seek, in its various forms. The contrariety involved in the affective experience of joys and sadness can lead to a desire for true happiness. But the liberator process is also marked by the presence of a certain kind of joy: the hilaritas, a very special joy, a joy balanced that agrees with reason par excellence, whose work opens before us the trails that lead to happiness. The reason, however, can only accomplish it as affection of joy itself. In this case, will begin the liberator route.

Humor e alegria em Tutaméia: terceiras estórias de Guimarães Rosa / Humour and joy in Tutaméia: third stories by Guimarães Rosa

Giselle Madureira Bueno 23 March 2012 (has links)
This thesis aims to go through, from a markedly intratextual approach, the matter of humour and joy in Tutaméia: third stories by Guimarães Rosa. In the first chapter, rather theoretical and general considerations are presented on the theme that appears, in Rosa, tinted by the shadows of anguish, of dormancy, of the tragic; both, joy and humour altogether, emerging from a hermeneutic which is entirely transpassed by the awareness of the absurd. In the second chapter, is discussed the deeply rooted relationship of the lacunal form itself of this Rosas work with the opaque spirit that constitutes it, melancholic and blissful at the same time. In the last chapter, the preface Aletria and hermeneutics is interpreted, scrutinizing the composition artifices of part of its anecdotes, and bringing some light to the texts paradoxical fabulation, witty and sublime.

The thematic approach of risk brought into focus by the concept of laughter has been a recurrent practice concerning the literary production of Brazilian contemporary chroniclers. Such trend is based on the assumption that risk is imposed on as an object, whereas laughter appears to be a strategy. In order to make laughable the threats we have to deal with in everyday life, their texts usually indicate our courage in facing both personal and collective woes. Such texts highlight relevant cultural aspects of our time as well as typical ways of thinking and being. Concepts such as risk, laughter and chronicle are hereby considered in two different ways one being diachronic, and the other synchronic. The same concepts are then unfolded in reference to a broader theoretical-conceptual panorama allowing that complementary notions such as experience and reflexivity, happiness and joy, memory and oblivion be studied. Once proved by evidence in the above-mentioned notions, contrast and distances will be taken to account for the complex relationship between risk and laughter as found in the selected literary corpus. The analytical study carried on here covers fifteen chronicles signed by Luis Fernando Verissimo, João Ubaldo Ribeiro, Millôr Fernandes and Moacyr Scliar. Its assumed larger scope concerns an inquiry about the manner by which the collected texts express the entanglement of risk and laughter in view of existential circumstances that so well typify life at the present time. As a more general hypothesis, it is here proposed that every chronicle operates an actual mediation between on one side the records of human behavior clearly related to the present time, and the artistic reinvention of genuinely human experiences on the other.

Christology as motivation for ethical exhortation in 1 Peter and Philippians

Park, Seong-Su 11 October 2007 (has links)
In 1 Peter and Philippians Christology motivates the ethical exhortation of their readers. 1 Peter uses Christology as motivation both for Soteriology and ethical exhortation, although Peter implements Christology in his Soteriology only to remind his reader of their new identity as members of the family of God through Christ’s death and resurrection (1 Pet 13-17; 2:1-3). It caused them to suffer from the same society with its social and religious norms in which they previously lived, and which turned hostile towards them after their converson. As believers, though, their life should no longer conform to the society of their pagan neighbours. They have thus unexpectedly encountered verbial abuse and physical suffering from their circumstances. The readers of Peter and Paul suffered from opponents from outside the congregation (1 Pet 2:18-20; 3:13-17; Phil 1:27-30; 2:12-18), from conflicts within the community (Phil 2:1-5), as well as from false teaching directed against Paul’s gospel (Phil 3). To resolve the matters within community and to exhort their readers to stand firm in their faith in Christ Jesus, both Peter and Paul applied Christology to guide their readers on how to conduct their life as believers in their society. Believers are called to follow in the footsteps of Christ, not merely to start the adventure of Christian living, but to persevere up to the end, to the glory of God (cf. Mtt 24:13&Lk 21:19). In 1 Peter, the imperative for ethical exhortative motivation are followed by the indicative of its Christology as motivation: ethical exhortation (vv 13-17) followed by Christology (1:18-21); ethical exhortation (vv 1-3) followed by Christology as example of suffering and exaltation, as well as the foundation of spiritual community of the believers(2:4-8); ethical exhortation of domestic servants (vv 18-21) followed by Christology (vv 22-25); ethical exhortation (vv 13-17) followed by Christology (vv 18-22). In Philippians Christology stands in the center (Phil 2:6-11) as foundation of three ethical exhortations: to stand firm in their faith in Christ Jesus amidst hostile circumstances (1:27-30), to resolve conflicts among themselves (2:1-5), and to work out their salvation by trusting in God (2:12-18). In addition Paul exhorted his readers to imitated Christ, as well as himself, since his eager and absolute goal is to know Christ, the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his suffering, as stated in Phil 2:6-11, and to rejoice in the Lord. Both Peter and Paul’s Christology have a soteriological perspective, but the Christology of both 1 Peter and Philippians focuses on the ethical motivation of their readers, to confirm their faith in Christ Jesus in their unstable circumstances. / Thesis (PhD (New Testament Studies))--University of Pretoria, 2007. / New Testament Studies / PhD / unrestricted

Grieder, Eveline 30 April 2015 (has links)
Yoga, a space for sacredThe problematics of this work in based on some epistemological considerations that took me more than 35 years : an academic training in history and anthropology, a 3 years ground in India among hindu monastic population, 30 years teaching yoga, and a further orientation in anthropology of imagination, brought me into trying to spot existential basement of spiritual life, that I consider as linked with fundamental categories of human relation to the world. The concepts and symbols of cosmic energy, soul, micro-macrocosmos equation, earth and sky couple, and also other pairs of opposites, are at the root of the very ancient philosophy of yoga : their experience allow the feeling of a widening of consciousness, and of real-life space. They are also extremely frequent in all human history, to the point that it can be thought that we are faced to basic intuitions of the human position in time and space, that have structured the sense of existence during milleniums, giving the keys to understand the myriad of initiations that can be found everywhere in traditionnal cultures.I started from a field survey, then I continued by a comparative study, and finished with an investigation in socio-anthropology on the image of yoga and on the mind-set of its practitioners. Now, I propose to highlight the impact of this body-and-mind discipline on the search of meaning (that I relate to the notion of sacred), and on the need of re-enchantment in the contemporary world.

: Budo- och kampsporttränares uppfattningar om idrott / Change in progress within youth sport? : Perceptions of sport among coaches of martial arts

Andersson, Maja, Svensson, Klara January 2020 (has links)
The Swedish Sports Confederation is striving towards supporting youth develop a lifelong relationship with sport, but statistics show a tendency of dropouts around the age of 12. This study aims to nuance the understanding of coaches’ perceptions of youth sports within martial arts. The research questions were: How are central aspects of sport for youths valued among coaches? What opinions exist among the coaches concerning involvement and their role in relation to that? Structured interviews were conducted with eight participants. The data were analyzed by forming concentrations of responses which then was categorized. Finally, the data were interpreted in a broader context and compared with previous research. The result shows that joy and development were seen as central parts of youth sport. Improvement of physical and mental health was viewed as important in a long- term perspective. The competitive part of the sport was rated as the least important. Regarding participation, the most common definition by the coaches was inclusion in decision-making, preferably a physical kind such as voicing out opinions or suggestions. However, sometimes participation of children was thought to interfere with or obstruct the plan of a training session and therefore the two components need to be balanced. The role of the coach was perceived as relatively essential for ensuring that children or adolescents were and felt included. This paper concludes that there are several aspects to consider in youth sport. Furthermore, the coaches were seen to have a significant role in creating an open environment for children and adolescents to be involved.

Ode to Joy: pop cultural representation of white-collar migrant women in a Chinese megacity

Yang, Linda 31 August 2020 (has links)
This thesis examines the pop cultural representation of white-collar migrant women (WCMW) through the popular Chinese TV series Ode to Joy. Focusing on various aspects of their lives, this TV series raises many issues about the experiences of WCMW, including perceptions of them as “outsiders” in the megacity, gender inequality, and the tensions between female migrant identity and urban status. This study analyzes those issues by drawing on intersectional theories which examine structural inequalities from the perspective of the interactions of multiple axes of social categories. This thesis asks three major questions: In what way does Ode to Joy represent the experiences of WCMW?; To what extent do issues raised in Ode to Joy impact the wellbeing of WCMW in large cities?, and; What are the “joys” in Ode to Joy for WCMW? In addition to collecting data from the TV series, this study interviewed WCMW informants to provide first-hand accounts of their experiences in an urban culture. By critically analyzing the representation of WCMW characters’ experiences in Ode to Joy, this thesis provides insights on understanding the status of those women in a contemporary Chinese urban setting, thereby filling a gap in academic literature on the pop cultural representation of China’s white-collar migrant women in a Chinese megacity. / Graduate
