This paper walks the reader through the process of developing a pair of safety glasses for the brand Spektrum. Spektrum is brand that specializes on performance eyewear and ski goggles but are now on the quest to widen their brand and start developing safety gear. This will be Spektrums first safety glasses. The purpose of this project was to develop a pair of safety glasses which both meets Spektrums internal requirements as well as the users and the markets requirements. The project started with an analytical phase where all the relevant data was collected. This became the whole foundation for the project and was absolutely necessary to be able to proceed in the right direction. The analytical phase was then followed up by a creative phase which resulted in four design concepts. The four concepts were evaluated and could after that be reduced into two concepts. The two concepts were made into physical prototypes which were tested and evaluated. From that a final concept could be made and a final prototype was crafted. The result is an adjustable frame with a one piece lens. The lens is clear and replaceable. It can be replaced with either a dark or yellow lens that enhance the vision in extreme light. The glasses work well with ear protectors and helmets. This was an important attribute that was established in the analytical phase. The final concept was presented to Spektrum and was well received. They want to look further into taking the glasses to production.

The aim of the study is to examine the changes and continuity that have occurred from 1997 to 2017 in how the first wave (1900-1920) and second wave (1960-1980) of the women’s movement for gender equality are portrayed in historical textbooks for upper secondary school. Additionally, it aims to investigate how the portrayals in textbooks relate to the values of the Swedish school curriculum regarding gender quality specifically in the curricula from 1994 and 2011. The research questions intend to investigate how the textbooks describe the women’s movement and which women are depicted in the textbooks. The essay also aims for a comparative analysis of the similarities and differences in conveying a gender equality perspective by comparing the textbooks to the contemporary curriculum. The source material for the study consists of six history textbooks published between 1997 and 2017, with three books published under Lpf94 and remaining three under Gy11. The research method employed is a textual analysis based on Niklas Ammerts typology, which consists of four categories: stating, explaining, reflecting and normative. It is used to categorize the descriptions of the women’s movement. Yvonne Hirdman’s gender system theory is used to analyse the textbooks from a gender perspective. The study concludes that to accurately depict women’s movements and their underlying motivations, individual women must be more prominently included. Despite improvements in Gy11 textbooks aligning with the curriculum, there remains a need to includes narratives of individual women within the movement, for a comprehensive representation of women’s contribution in history.

A contemporaneidade aponta para uma nova concepção do risco. Passa-se de uma idéia de controle e racionalidade para uma idéia de incerteza e probabilidades. Essas transformações refletem no sistema do direito, que é obrigado a decidir e enfrentar os problemas da sociedade atual. A forma como as matrizes do direito têm lidado com o risco são objeto desta pesquisa. Diante desse contexto, apresenta-se o caso do avanço da tecnologia, mais precisamente o uso polêmico das células-tronco como uma questão que o direito deve responder. Trata-se, portanto, de uma observação específica do serviço público, ou seja, o seu conceito. O problema, portanto, é como o Direito responde à pergunta “o que é serviço público”. O problema acima será abordado a partir da matriz pragmático-sistêmica. A hipótese é investigar como o conceito de serviço público levará (ou não) à distinção serviço público/não serviço público. O conceito de serviço público será abordado a partir de suas funções, e esta é uma outra hipótese dessa tese – a de que o funcionalismo é adequado para a observação sociológica de categorias dogmáticas do Direito. O caminho, tortuoso, labiríntico e recursivo, é feito com a ajuda de sete funções atribuídas ao conceito de serviço público (e, conseqüentemente, ao próprio serviço público), a saber: função de distinguir, de oscilar, de selecionar, de estabilizar, de indicar símbolos, de acoplar e de deflagrar. Les études contemporaines du bouddhisme, plus précisément celles préoccupées par sa modernisation, son occidentalisation et sa mondialisation, proposent un large éventail d'outils conceptuels pour qualifier la spécificité du bouddhisme qui se forme, qui se pratique et dont parlent de plus en plus de gens aujourd'hui. Du point de vue dit « populaire », le bouddhisme est rarement perçu comme une religion et il est plus souvent considéré comme un « art de vivre », une « spiritualité », une « science de l'esprit » ou une « philosophie de vie ». Pourtant, le bouddhisme n'échappe pas à des transformations religieuses que des analyses qualifient à l'aide de concepts comme « traditionalisme », « fondamentalisme », « (post)modernisme », bouddhisme « engagé socialement » et « postbouddhisme ». Les études bouddhiques américano-européennes, tributaires des courants de pensée postcolonialiste et postorientaliste, envisagent désormais leur objet sous l'angle inclusif du pluralisme socioculturel, lequel accorde une place et un rôle importants aux pratiques ainsi qu'aux discours des bouddhistes eux-mêmes. La cimentation au sein des observations d'un modèle des « deux bouddhismes », opposant les bouddhistes « ethniques-asiatiques immigrants » aux bouddhistes « occidentaux-convertis », a renforcé l'idée selon laquelle seuls les premiers sont « ethniques », les seconds échappant virtuellement à une catégorisation ethnique. La distinction ethnique/converti présuppose ainsi une distinction fort problématique du type ethnique/non ethnique. Le modèle fait l'impasse sur les processus religieux actuels, en amont de l'ethnicité, concernant la formation sociale de la religion et des religions, en général, et du bouddhisme, en particulier. L'idée selon laquelle le bouddhisme est une réalité religieuse sur le plan social – idée que certains pratiquants reconnaissent et que d'autres contestent – ne peut être traitée sans faire l'économie d'envisager les (ré)appropriations et les contestations du bouddhisme sous l'angle des processus contemporains de la mondialisation des religions. Parent pauvre des études bouddhiques, la mondialisation est souvent tenue pour admise et n'est que rarement considérée du point de vue de ses dynamiques internes de relativisation et de différenciation. Je soutiens que le bouddhisme constitue un système sociétal fonctionnel au sein du système religieux de la société mondiale. En faisant usage de la théorie des systèmes sociaux développée par le sociologue allemand Niklas Luhmann, je propose ainsi d'observer le bouddhisme non pas à partir d'unités d'analyse comme des types, des identités, des discours, des interprétations ou des intentions, mais en fonction de communications autoréférentielles qui (re)produisent une convergence et une différence bouddhiques dans le social. Au moyen d'observations ethnographiques consignées sur le terrain et grâce à l'analyse qualitative d'entrevues menées auprès de voyageurs étrangers en Inde, le bouddhisme est reconstruit à partir des éléments et des relations qui constituent sa distinction religieuse tant sur le plan interne (la pluralité du bouddhisme) que celui externe (l'unité du bouddhisme par rapport aux autres religions). Par conséquent, ce n'est un bouddhisme ni « mondial » ni « mondialisé » que dépeignent les analyses qui suivent, mais une forme de « mondialité bouddhique » constitutive des processus mêmes de la mondialisation. Les interrelations entre un système bouddhique de la société mondiale et d'autres systèmes fonctionnels contemporains, dont l'économie (capitaliste), les médias de masse et le tourisme (de loisir), sont approfondies pour illustrer de quelles façons le modelage mutuel est caractéristique de la différenciation moderne et mondiale du bouddhisme au sein du social.
