Vilniaus rajono apylinkės teismo praktikos nagrinėjant bylas dėl teismo leidimų išdavimo ir faktų patvirtinimo analizė / The analysis of practice of dealing with the pleas for bestowal of court permissions and pleas for confirmation of facts in the court of Vilnius precinct

Leleckaitė, Lina 10 March 2006 (has links)
Baigiamasis darbas skirtas išanalizuoti prašymu del teismo leidimu išdavimo ir faktu patvirtinimo nagrinejimo Vilniaus rajono apylinkes teisme praktika. Autorius, analizuodamas teismo bylas, kartu aptare ir teorinius klausimus. Prašymai del teismo leidimu išdavimo priskiriami prie ypatingosios teisenos bylu, kurios nagrinejamos supaprastinto proceso tvarka. Autorius analizavo kriterijus, pagal kuriuos nustatoma, kokiam konkreciai teismui teismingi šie prašymai. Kartu autorius aptare procesiniu dokumentu samprata, kurie skirstomi I byloje dalyvaujanciu asmenu ir teismo procesinius dokumentus. / The final work is dedicated to analyse the practice of dealing with the pleas for bestowal of court permissions and pleas for confirmations of facts in the court of Vilnius precinct. The author also talked over the theory by analysing court cases. Pleas for bestowal of court permissions are in the category of cases of special proceedings and they are dealt with in the simplified trial. The author analysed criteria’s determining which court should deal with the pleas. The author described the definitions of aforesaid processial documents, which are of two different kinds: documents of court participants and processial documents of the court. The final work described the singleness and terms of dealing with the pleas for bestowal of court permissions and pleas for confirmation of facts. Having analysed the cases the author singled out the main refusal reasons to bestowal the court permission. The definition and content of the final document in the court proceedings was also given in this work. Having analysed the cases in the court of Vilnius precinct there were found some wrong applications of law rules regarding the courts work. The court sometimes doesn’t abide the five days term after receiving aforesaid pleas to make a final decision in the case. It is also important to mention that the court received just a couple of pleas for confirmation of facts over few years.

A comparative study on high-risk sexual behaviour of male student elite athletes, male student non-athletes, and male student recreational sports participants at the University of Botswana.

Sebele, Molly Kenaope. January 2009 (has links)

This study aims to compare the sexual behaviour patterns of male elite student athletes, male student recreational sports (RSP) and male student non-athletes at the University of Botswana in relation to high-risk sexual behaviours. High-risk behaviors in the domain of sexual behaviour were investigated in relation to the determinants of risk behaviour such as multiple partnerships, condom use, and history of sexually transmitted infections, the partners past sex life, current sexual life, casual sexual partners and age of first exual experience. The purpose was to establish which group of the male students is more at risk of HIV infection due to its engagement in high-risk sexual behaviour. Data was collected by means of an anonymous self-report questionnaire. Participants included 235 male students (94 non-athletes, 92 athletes and 50 elite athletes) at the University of Botswana. Selfreport questionnaires were administered, which included items from the 2005 Youth Risk Surveillance System (YRBSS), Student Life Style questionnaire, as well as items from a questionnaire assessing knowledge and practice of safe sex amongst Rhodes University students (Simpson, 1996).

Socialinių pedagogų įvaizdis ugdymo proceso dalyvių vertinimu / Image of social educators as assessed by the participants of the education process

Mickutė, Dovilė 17 July 2014 (has links)
Tyrimo duomenys buvo apdoroti SPSS (Statistical Package For Social Science) programine įranga (19... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The final paper presents an analysis of the image of social educators as assessed by the participants of the education process. The theoretical analysis reveals the following key factors promoting the negative image of social educators: low salaries, search for additional work, meager endeavor and desire to further develop their professional qualification, performing additional tasks not included into the social educator job description and indifference of colleagues and school administration towards the activities of social educator as a specialist. The practical and scientific relevance of the study presupposes the following research questions: How is the professional image of social educator assessed by the participants of the education process? How are the professional skills, values, visual (external) human image and qualification development of social educators as constituents of their professional image assessed by the different participants of the education process? What is the connection between the role of social educators and their image? What are the available image improvement possibilities? The research object is the professional image of social educators as assessed by the participants of the education process. The goal of the study is to reveal the professional image of social educators as assessed by the participants of the education process. The research data were gathered by using a written questionnaire-based survey. The survey was compiled from open and... [to full text]

Neurofunctional and Neuroanatomical Hippocampal Deficits and Connectivity Differences in Schizophrenia Compared to Healthy Control Participants Tested on a Virtual Reality Navigation Wayfinding Task: An fMRI, VBM and Effective Connectivity Study

Ledoux, Andrée-Anne 24 April 2013 (has links)
Episodic memory is a key feature in learning. One must remember past events to act upon a present situation. Episodic memory has been reported to be impaired in individuals with schizophrenia. In order to have an intact episodic memory the contextual features (context) must be bound to the content of the event; this mechanism is referred to as contextual binding. It is proposed that binding errors during the encoding process are responsible for episodic memory impairments in schizophrenia. Since the hippocampal formation is considered to be the central element for contextual binding, it is hypothesized that the synaptic disorganization described in this condition results in such a deficit. Moreover, the hippocampus mediates and influences other cognitive processes such as learning and executive functioning. Hence, a contextual binding deficit can have important consequences on cognition, behaviour and emotions. The object of this dissertation was to investigate the neurofunctioning, neuroanatomy and neurofunctional connectivity of the hippocampus while performing a task that utilized contextual binding mechanisms. Since spatial relational processing is part of contextual binding and is rooted in the hippocampal regions, visuospatial navigation, more precisely a wayfinding task, was used as a probe to activate the hippocampus and its associated regions in a group of patients with schizophrenia and matched healthy controls. The following dissertation presents three original research papers contributing to our understanding of the contextual binding and hippocampal deficits in schizophrenia. The first paper investigates the neurofunctioning of the hippocampus with a wayfinding task. The second paper investigates the hippocampal structural abnormality in schizophrenia and how it relates to performance during the wayfinding task. The third paper explores effective connectivity of the hippocampus with other brain regions involved in navigation in schizophrenia with a particular interest in the prefrontal cortex. These three studies demonstrate significant neurofunctional, neuroanatomical, and neurofunctional connectivity deficits in the hippocampus of the patients with schizophrenia compared to a healthy control population. Results of all three papers are further discussed in terms of research and clinical implications.

Exploring social workers’ integration of the person-centred approach into practice within different working contexts

Mbedzi, Rembuluwani Paul 21 September 2011 (has links)
The social work profession requires the accumulation of theory, knowledge, skills and their integration into practice. The department of social work at UNISA trains students according to the person-centred approach (PCA). The question thus arises whether the social workers trained in PCA at UNISA are able to integrate theory into practice in their different areas of employment. Exploring this would give the department of social work an opportunity to re-visit the teaching of PCA and make some improvements if necessary. The qualitative study was conducted with social workers employed in different welfare organizations in Pretoria. The following themes emerged from the analysis: the perceived significance of building relationship with clients, the organizational influence in counselling, unique experiences with regard to colleagues who graduated from other institutions, challenges in handling a conflict or crisis situation, and lastly the nature of statutory cases. The conclusions were drawn and recommendations were presented. / Social Science / M.A. (Mental Health)

Knowledge, beliefs and practice about sexual concurrent partnering amongst education students at a tertiary institution in rural Namibia

Shilongo, Lydia January 2010 (has links)
Doctor Educationis / Background: In an attempt to avert the HIV/AIDS epidemic, more research has been conducted to determine why the epidemic is more devastating in Southern African countries than anywhere else in the world. Heterosexual transmission is believed to be driving the epidemic in many sub-Saharan African countries. Recent research has indicated that having concurrent sexual partners is one of the factors contributing to the fast spread of HIV transmission in this region.Aim: This study aimed to describe the level of knowledge about the risk of HIV transmission posed by concurrent sexual partnering as well as beliefs and practices about concurrent partnering among education students at the Rundu College of Education(RCE) in the Kavango region of Namibia. Concurrent partnering was defined as a situation where a person has more than one sexual partner at the same time, during the twelve months preceding the study.Methodology: There were 374 students registered for the 2009 academic year at RCE.All registered students were targeted for the study and 278 completed the questionnaire, yielding a response rate of 73.4%. The survey described prevalence of concurrent partnering, knowledge about risk posed by concurrent partnering as well as beliefs about concurrent partnering.Data collected was analyzed using Statistical Programs for Social Sciences (SPSS).Descriptive statistics were used to describe the prevalence of sexual concurrency, knowledge about risk posed by concurrent partnering and beliefs about concurrent partnering among the study population. Frequency of concurrency was cross tabulated with demographic variables like age group, sex and year of study as well as by knowledge and beliefs about sexual concurrent partnering. Results: The prevalence of concurrency in this sample was 9.4% with significantly higher prevalence (13.0%) among male students compared to females (5.3%). Males reported knowledge levels of 85.7% to 88.4% while females reported knowledge levels of 89.3% and 93.1%. More men (28.8%) than women (10.7%) agreed with the statement that sexual concurrency is a sign of manhood (p=0.00). Further, more male students(27.9%) compared to female students (6.1%) agreed with the statement that sexual concurrency is part of African culture and should continue (p=0.00).Conclusion: The study results show a high knowledge of risk posed by concurrency. It further reveals that a high number of people believe that concurrency is acceptable especially among men.HIV prevention activities promoting partner reduction and mutual fidelity should be implemented. Such activities should focus more on behavior change rather than on information giving. There is a need to create platforms for community members to debate on cultural beliefs about sexual concurrency.

Understanding women’s involvement in primary health care: a case study of Khayelitsha (Cape Town)

Kali, Julia Mamosiuoa January 2012 (has links)
Magister Artium (Medical Anthropology) - MA(Med Ant) / Women are the principle providers of their families when it comes to issues of health care, even though their health needs and efforts are neglected. The contributions that they make to health development seem to be undervalued, and their working conditions ignored. Societies depend heavily on women as role players in the welfare of their families and of national economics together with their physical well-being which determines the ability to be productive. The study has provided an overview of the experiences of women concerning primary health care and the quality of service in Nolungile PHC Khayelitsha, Cape Town. Primary health care (PHC) forms an integral part both of the country‘s health system and the overall social and economic development of the community. Central to the PHC approach is full community participation in the planning, provision, control and monitoring of services. Priority has to be given to the improvement of women‘s social and economic status.A much neglected perspective in health issues is that, a number of questions arise from the provision of PHC. Does PHC rely on the contribution of women and if so, why women? Women in their communities have joined their hands together as community health workers, educating community members on issues of health. The study has provided an insight of the work that women are doing in their communities, and how do they give meaning to their experiences in PHC. The study also answered questions that raise fundamental issues on gender stereotyping and disparities in PHC. The study gave me an opportunity to work closely with the women while observing the challenges that they are facing and how to they overcome them in the daily lives.Changes are called towards the attitudes of health care providers working in the formal and nonformal sectors. The provision of health education for women ultimately empowers them as health educators for the community.

Účastníci řízení o přestupku a jejich práva v aplikační praxi / Participants in misdemeanor proceedings and their rights in application practice

Šimon, Josef January 2021 (has links)
Participants in misdemeanor proceedings and their rights in application practice Abstract Misdemeanor proceedings are an administrative procedure of public authorities (administrative bodies). Through which, part of the criminal policy of states is implemented. Its main task is to hold the perpetrator liable for their wrongdoing and to protect society from less serious acts - misdemeanors. In essence, it is similar to criminal proceedings, whose objective differs only in that it protects society from more serious acts. It follows from this definition, that the misdemeanor proceedings should not differ significantly from the procedural guarantees observed in criminal proceedings. Procedural guarantees of criminal proceedings are provided through the rights of accused persons. The subject of this paper is the analysis of procedural rights, especially of those accused of a misdemeanor, but also other participants in the proceedings on the misdemeanor. Emphasis is placed on the content of these rights and the possibility of exercising them towards administrative authorities. To this end, the thesis examines the decision-making practice of supreme courts (European Court of Human Rights, Constitutional Court, Supreme Administrative Court), as well as administrative bodies in the field of administrative criminal...
