Alors que le principe d’une alternance entre les différentes temporalités de la formation professionnelle initiale des enseignants est relevé comme une nécessité, de nombreux travaux soulignent une « cassure » entre les expériences vécues par les enseignants novices (EN) en centre universitaire et les expériences professionnelles vécues dans l’établissement scolaire (Chaliès, Cartaut, Escalié et Durand, 2009). Pour y répondre, deux orientations en matière d’aménagements des dispositifs de formation par alternance sont proposées. La première consiste à « déplacer le centre de gravité » (Zeichner, 2006) de la formation vers l’établissement scolaire. La seconde consiste, à l’inverse, à déplacer le centre de gravité de la formation vers le centre universitaire et proposer aux EN des dispositifs qui placent la professionnalisation au centre des apports. Paradoxalement, la pratique des activités physiques, sportives et artistiques (APSA) dans la formation professionnelle initiale des enseignants d’éducation physique et sportive (EPS) n’est jamais interrogée dans le cadre de cette deuxième orientation. Rares sont en effet les travaux ayant étudié comment aménager les enseignements théorico-pratiques relatifs aux APSA afin qu’ils contribuent effectivement à la professionnalisation des EN. Cette étude a été réalisée à partir d’un dispositif usuel de formation des EN d’EPS. En prenant appui sur un programme de recherche mené en anthropologie culturaliste (Chaliès et Bertone, 2017), un premier dispositif transformatif a été mis en œuvre afin de permettre aux EN d’EPS d’exploiter leurs expériences de pratique d’APSA lors de leur enseignement de cette APSA à des étudiants-élèves. A partir des résultats obtenus, une seconde transformation a été menée. Elle était pensée pour permettre aux EN d’EPS d’exploiter des expériences liées à l’enseignement dans lesquelles étaient intégrées leurs expériences de pratique d’APSA pour être en capacité d’enseigner cette APSA à des élèves. Cette double transformation devait permettre d’ (in)valider deux hypothèses auxiliaires relatives à la formation à l’enseignement des EN d’EPS à partir d’expériences de pratiquant dans les APSA. Les résultats obtenus montrent que les transformations engagées ont permis aux EN de s’engager dans une activité d’enseignement chargée d’expériences normatives situées (ENS) suivies en tant que pratiquant. Plus précisément, ils montrent la nécessité pour les EN d’apprendre des ENS constitutives de l’enseignement et d’être accompagnés par un formateur dans le processus de « susbtrafication » d’ENS suivies en tant que pratiquant au sein d’ENS suivies en tant qu’enseignant. Finalement, une proposition de conception d’un dispositif de formation professionnelle des EN d’EPS est réalisée. / While the principle of an alternation between the different temporalities of initial teacher training is noted as a necessity, many studies point to a "break" between the experiences experienced by novice teachers (NT) in the university center and the experiments the school (Chaliès, Cartaut, Escalié and Durand, 2009). In order to answer this question, two guidelines for the development of alternance training schemes are proposed. The first is to "shift the center of gravity" (Zeichner, 2006) from the training to the school. The second is to move the center of gravity of the training towards the university center and propose to the NT devices that place professionalization at the center of the contributions. Paradoxically, the practice of physical, sports and artistic activities (PSAA) in the initial professional training of physical education and sports (PES) teachers is never questioned in this second orientation. Few studies have studied how to organize the theoretical-practical lessons of PSAA so that they effectively contribute to the professionalization of NT.This study was carried out on the basis of a usual training system for PES NT. Based on a research program carried out in cultural anthropology (Chaliès and Bertone, 2017), a first transformative device was implemented in order to enable the PES NT to exploit their experiences of PSAA practice during their teaching of this PSAA to students of university. From the results obtained, a second transformation was carried out. It was designed to enable PES NT to use teaching-related experiences in which their PSAA practice experiences were integrated to be able to teach PSAA to students. This twofold transformation was intended to (in)validate two auxiliary hypotheses related to the teaching of PES NT from practitioner experiences in PSAA.The results obtained show that the transformations initiated enabled the NT to engage in a teaching activity in charge of normative experiments located (NEL) followed as a practitioner. More specifically, they demonstrate the need for NT to learn NEL about teaching and to be accompanied by a trainer in the NEL "susbtrafication" process followed as practitioners in NEL followed by as a teacher. Finally, a proposal for the design of a vocational training system for PES NT is carried out.

L’influence de la violation des conditions d’emploi constitutives du contrat psychologique et des conditions d’exercice de la profession, sur l’intention de quitter : le cas des professionnels de la gestion des ressources humaines

Au cours de la dernière décennie, les changements observés sur le marché amènent les organisations à améliorer leurs conditions de travail afin d’être en mesure d’attirer et de retenir des travailleurs performants. Les PRH n’y font pas exception. En effet, les PRH présentent des attentes bien précises et développent un contrat psychologique qui leur est propre. Cette recherche porte sur l’intention de quitter des PRH. Plus précisément, elle vise à identifier à travers la théorie du contrat psychologique, les conditions d’emploi et d’exercice de la profession qui, lorsqu’elles ne sont pas respectées, influencent positivement l’intention de quitter des PRH. Il ressort de nos analyses statistiques que la violation du contrat psychologique, notamment des conditions d’emploi et des conditions d’exercice de la profession, influence positivement l’intention de quitter des PRH. Nos analyses nous ont permis d’identifier les différentes conditions d’emploi et d’exercice de la profession qui ont une influence sur l’intention de quitter des PRH. En ce qui concerne les conditions d’emploi, il s’agit de celles reliées au développement de carrière, à l’atmosphère au travail et au contenu de l’emploi. Du côté des conditions d’exercice de la profession, il s’agit du rôle d’agent de changement et de partenaires d’affaires qui ont une influence positive, tandis que le rôle d’expert fonctionnel influence négativement les intentions de quitter des PRH. Nos analyses mettent en évidence l’importance du respect des conditions d’emploi comparativement à celles associées aux conditions d’exercice de la profession. En effet, on constate que les trois conditions d’emploi qui ont une influence positive sur les intentions de quitter des PRH peuvent, sans contredit, être associées au développement professionnel, une valeur importante chez les PRH. / During the last decade, many changes have been observed in the labor markets which have lead organizations to review their work conditions. By improving the work environment, organizations have been able to attract and retain good workers. Human resource professionals (HRP) are not an exception. Indeed, HRP have specific expectations, they also develop their own psychological contract. This research attempts to understand the intent to quit of a HRP. Specifically, this research seeks to identify the conditions of employment and of professional practice through the theory of psychological contracts. When these conditions are not met, they positively influence the intent to quit of a HRP. According to our statistical analyses, psychological contract breach of the conditions of employment and of the conditions of professional practice positively influences the intent to quit of a HRP. More specifically, the conditions of employment which influence the intent to quit of a HRP are related to career development, social atmosphere and job content. Moreover, the role of a change agent and a strategic partner are the conditions of professional practice that influence negatively the intent to quit of a HRP. However, the role of an administrative expert influences positively the intent to quit of a HRP. Finally, our analysis highlights the importance of respecting the conditions of employment compared to those associated to the conditions of professional practice. Indeed, we find that the breach of three conditions of employment that have a positive influence on the intent to quit of a PRH can be associated to career development, which is a value that is more and more important for a PRH in current times.

From Higher Education To Professional Practice : A comparative study of physicians' and engineers' learning and competence use / Från högre utbildning till professionell praktik : En komparativ studie av läkares och civilingenjörers lärande och kompetensanvändning

The focus of this thesis is on describing and analysing recently graduated physicians’ and engineers’ experiences of the relationship between the professional education programs and the respective professional practices. The aim is to explore the professionals’ reasons for their educational and career choices, what they learn in professional education, the demands they encounter in the workplace, and the perceived needs and opportunities for learning and further development in their professional practices. This study is based on a comparative design and the empirical data have been collected in interviews with physicians and master’s level engineers in information technology. The theoretical framework is structured around three parts, consisting of theories of professionalisation, theories concerned with the functions of higher education, and theories concerned with the concepts of knowledge, competence and qualifications. There is a close relationship between the process of professionalisation, the authority of the professions, the legitimacy of professional knowledge, and the higher education institutions. The results indicate that theory and practice are intimately integrated in the physicians’ professional education, whereas the engineers’ experiences of the educational program are characterised by little overlap between theory and practice. Furthermore, the physicians emphasise the importance of theoretical specialist knowledge and socio-communicative competence while the engineers instead stress the importance of generalist competence. The educational knowledge base is relatively static for both physicians and engineers. However, whereas there is a correspondence between the educational and the professional knowledge base in the case of the physicians they are only a loosely coupled in the case of the engineers. This can be attributed to the changing nature of the engineers’ professional knowledge base, which is characterised by constant change. The physicians regard their professional education as a rational preparation for the world of work. Although education does provide a general foundation for further professional development and learning, the engineers associate their professional education more with a symbolic ritual. For physicians, the formal credentials are a legal requirement to practise the profession. Education is regarded as constituting an important credential also for the engineers as it increases individual employability. The physicians tend to emphasise the use value of the educational program, while the engineers instead stress the exchange value of their educational program.

L’étendue effective de la pratique d’infirmières en pédiatrie : ses déterminants et son influence sur la satisfaction professionnelle

Le déploiement optimal de l’étendue de la pratique infirmière, qui traduit la mise en œuvre du rôle professionnel, est essentiel à l’accessibilité, à la continuité, à la qualité ainsi qu’à la sécurité des soins, dont ceux dispensés aux enfants et à leur famille. Or, il semble que les infirmières éprouvent certaines difficultés à déployer pleinement leur étendue de pratique, ce qui pourrait également compromettre la satisfaction professionnelle, un enjeu majeur pour la rétention du personnel dans les organisations de soins de santé. Le but de cette étude est de mesurer l’étendue effective de la pratique d’infirmières en pédiatrie, ses déterminants et son influence sur la satisfaction professionnelle. Le cadre de référence, un modèle original développé dans cette thèse, prend appui sur la théorie des caractéristiques de l’emploi (Hackman & Oldham, 1974), le modèle tension-autonomie (Karasek, 1985), la théorie du rôle (Biddle, 1979) et les travaux de D’Amour et al. (2012) portant sur l’étendue de la pratique infirmière. Afin d’atteindre le but de cette étude, le modèle développé met en relation les caractéristiques du travail et les caractéristiques individuelles d’influence potentielle sur le déploiement de l’étendue de la pratique infirmière. Il présuppose également un lien entre l’étendue de la pratique infirmière et la satisfaction professionnelle. Un devis corrélationnel descriptif a été retenu pour cette étude. Une enquête par questionnaire auprès d’infirmières de cinq secteurs d’activités d’un centre hospitalier pédiatrique universitaire du Québec a été réalisée (N=301). Les associations entre les variables ont été examinées en utilisant des analyses bivariées, multivariées et un modèle d’équations structurelles. Les analyses effectuées révèlent une bonne concordance du modèle développé (ratio x²/dl= 1,68; RMSEA = ,049; CFI = ,985). Au total, le modèle explique 32,5 % de la variance de l’étendue de la pratique infirmière et 11,3% de la variance de la satisfaction professionnelle. Les résultats font état d’un déploiement non-optimal de l’étendue de la pratique infirmière (3,21/6; É.T.= ,707). Les variables significativement associées au déploiement de l’étendue de la pratique infirmière sont: la latitude décisionnelle (β = ,319; p <0,01), la surcharge de rôle (β = ,201; p <0,05), l’ambiguïté de rôle (β = ,297; p <0,05), le besoin de croissance individuelle de l’infirmière (β = ,151; p <0,05) et le niveau de formation (β = ,128; p <0,05). Il est également démontré que l’étendue de la pratique infirmière est associée positivement à la satisfaction professionnelle (β = ,118; p <0,01). Une description plus détaillée des résultats de l’étendue de la pratique infirmière en fonction du niveau de formation et du poste occupé met en lumière que les infirmières bachelières ont une étendue de pratique significativement plus élevée (3,35; É.T =,746) que les infirmières collégiales (3,12; É.T =,669). L’occupation d’un poste de clinicienne est aussi associée à une plus grande étendue de pratique infirmière. Précisément, les infirmières qui occupent un poste d’infirmière obtiennent un score de 3,13/6 (É.T =,664) alors que le score des infirmières qui occupent un poste de clinicienne s’élève à 3,48/6 (É.T =,798). Cette étude innove en présentant un modèle de référence qui a le potentiel de générer des connaissances importantes en sciences infirmières en lien avec le déploiement optimal de l’étendue de pratique infirmière. Prenant appui sur ce modèle novateur, les résultats révèlent les caractéristiques du travail sur lesquelles il y a urgence d’agir afin d’accroître le déploiement de l’étendue de la pratique infirmière et par le fait même la satisfaction professionnelle. / Optimal deployment of the scope of nursing practice, through which nurses’ professional role is expressed, is essential for ensuring accessibility, continuity, quality, and safety of care, including those provided to children and their families. Even so, it seems that nurses encounter certain difficulties when it comes to fully deploying their scope of practice. The impossibility of carrying out care activities that form part of the scope of nursing practice can also compromise job satisfaction, a major issue for healthcare organizations in terms of staff retention. The aim of this study is to measure the actual scope of nursing practice in pediatrics, its determinants, and its influence on professional satisfaction. The reference framework, an original model developed in this thesis, is based on job characteristics theory (Hackman & Oldham, 1974), the job demand-control model (Karasek, 1985), role theory (Biddle, 1979) and the work of D’Amour et al. (2012) on scope of nursing practice. To achieve the study objectives, the model developed here examines the relationships between job characteristics and individual characteristics that can potentially influence the deployment of scope of nursing practice. The model also proposes a link between scope of nursing practice and professional satisfaction, a distinct dimension of job satisfaction. A descriptive correlational design was used for this study. A survey was carried out using a self-administered questionnaire completed by nurses in five activity sectors of a pediatric university hospital (N = 301). Variability in both actual scope of nursing practice and professional satisfaction was explained using sequential multivariate regressions assuming an additive and moderating effect for individual characteristics. The potential mediating effect of scope of nursing practice between job characteristics and professional satisfaction was verified using structural equations modelling. The analyses reveal good fit for the model developed (x²/df ratio index = 1.68, RMSEA = .049, CFI = .985). Altogether, the model explains 32.5% of the variance for actual scope of practice and 11.3% of the variance for professional satisfaction. The results show non-optimal deployment of the scope of nursing practice (3.21/6; SD = .707). The analyses demonstrated the significant influence on actual scope of nursing practice of certain variables of the model: decision latitude (β = .319; p <0.01), role overload (β = .201; p <0.05), role ambiguity (β = .297; p <0.05), nurse growth need (β = .151; p <0.05) and education level (β = .128; p <0.05). They also showed that actual scope of nursing practice exerts a positive influence on professional satisfaction (β = .118; p <0.01). A more detailed examination of nurses’ actual scope of practice in relation to education level and position occupied showed the scope of practice for baccalaureate-educated nurses to be significantly higher than that of nurses with college diplomas, with scores of 3.35 (SD = .746) and 3.12 (SD = .669) respectively. Occupying a nurse clinician position also had a positive influence on actual scope of nursing practice. Specifically, the mean score for staff nurses was 3.13/6 (SD = .664), while that for nurse clinicians was higher, at 3.48/6 (SD = .798). The results of this study break new ground by presenting a model with the potential to generate important knowledge in nursing related to the optimal deployment of nurses’ scope of practice. Based on this innovative model, the results highlight job characteristics that require urgent action in order to broaden the deployment of nurses’ scope of practice and thereby to increase professional satisfaction.

Residência integrada em saúde : uma modalidade de ensino em serviço

A legalização do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), o qual preconiza uma visão ampliada de saúde, os setores da saúde e educação apontam para a necessidade de uma reforma na formação profissional. A Residência Integrada em Saúde (RIS) é uma modalidade de educação em serviço que objetiva especializar profissionais das diversas categorias desta área para atuarem em equipe, segundo os princípios do SUS. Esta dissertação tem a finalidade de contribuir para a reflexão sobre a formação de trabalhadores da área da saúde, através de uma pesquisa tipo Estudo de Caso sobre a RIS a partir da área de ênfase em intensivismo do GHC. Trata-se de uma abordagem qualitativa, descritiva, analítica que utiliza etapas da Avaliação de Quarta Geração. Os participantes deste estudo foram o grupo de interesse composto pelos residentes dessa área de ênfase. Para analisar as informações foi utilizada a análise proposta por Minayo. Os resultados desta pesquisa mostraram que a proposta da RIS é especializar profissionais da área da saúde para agirem em equipe interdisciplinar, visando formá-los com base em um perfil adequado a atuar no SUS para além da qualificação técnica curativa. A RIS diferencia-se das outras residências por ter como proposta a integração das diferentes áreas de conhecimento. Essa modalidade de ensino em serviço, em algum grau, tem atingido seus objetivos, porém ela tem apresentado dificuldades relacionadas à falta de conhecimento da proposta, à organização e estrutura dessa formação. As atividades interdisciplinares não estão dadas, assim como a metodologia problematizadora preconizada por esse programa leva a uma contínua reformulação das atividades para atingir os objetivos da formação. Esse caráter dinâmico pode dar um aspecto de desordem ao processo, todavia foi percebido que a proposta está continuamente sendo avaliada, reformulada e tem apresentado mudanças e crescimento em relação à sua criação. / With the legalized Brazilian Health System (SUS-Sistema Único de Saúde), which advocates a broader view of health, the health and education sectors indicate the need to remodel professional training. Integrated Health Residency (RIS-Residência Integrada em Saúde) is a modality of on-the-job training aiming at specializing professionals of different categories in this field to work as a team according to the SUS principles. The purpose of this thesis is to contribute to thinking about health care worker training, by performing a Case Study-type research on RIS based on an emphasis on intensive care at GHC. This is a qualitative, descriptive, analytical approach that uses stages of the Fourth Generation Evaluation. The participants in this study were the group of interest constituted by residents in this particular field. The method proposed by Minayo was used to analyse this information. The results of this research showed that the RIS proposal is to specialize health care professionals to work in a crossdisciplinary team, with a view to training them based on a profile appropriate to work at SUS beyond the curative technical qualification. RIS is different from other residencies because it proposes to integrate different fields of knowledge. This modality of on-the-job training has achieved its aims to some degree, but it has presented problems involving lack of knowledge about the proposal, the organization and structure of this training. Crossdisciplinary activities are not given, and the problematizing methodology advocated by this program leads to the continuous reformulation of activities to achieve the training objectives. This dynamic character could give the process a disorganized look, but it was noted that the proposal is continuously evaluated and reformulated, and it has presented changes and growth compared to when it was created. / La legalización del Sistema Único de Salud (SUS), lo cual preconiza una visión ampliada de salud, los sectores de la salud y educación apuntan para la necesidad de una reforma en la formación profesional. Las actividades interdisciplinares no están dadas, así como la metodología problematizadora preconizada por ese programa lleva a una continua reformulación de las actividades para atingir los objetivos de la formación. Ese carácter dinámico puede dar un aspecto de desorden al proceso, sin embargo fue percibido que la propuesta está continuamente siendo evaluada, reformulada y tiene presentado cambios y crecimiento en relación a su crianza.

A pedagogia da roda como dispositivo de educação permanente em enfermagem e a construção da integralidade do cuidado no contexto hospitalar

A pesquisa buscou conhecer o potencial da Educação Permanente (EP) na promoção da integralidade do cuidado no âmbito hospitalar, com base na análise das possibilidades e limites do uso da Pedagogia da Roda, como dispositivo para ações de educação permanente de equipes de enfermagem de um Hospital Universitário, do estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Um pressuposto central da EP, utilizado na pesquisa, é que a reflexão sobre as práticas em saúde, espaço de aprendizagem no e para o trabalho, se constitui em importante estratégia para a aproximação destas aos princípios do SUS. O estudo, de cunho qualitativo, do tipo exploratório-descritivo, foi desenvolvido a partir da experiência de uma equipe de enfermagem dessa instituição em um Projeto denominado “Rodadas de Conversa sobre o Trabalho em Saúde”. As “Rodadas” pautaram-se pela reflexão sobre o processo de trabalho da equipe, propondo a análise e a intervenção dos trabalhadores nos problemas do seu cotidiano. A coleta das informações deu-se por meio de grupos focais, organizados com os componentes dessa equipe, em todos os turnos de trabalho, num total de 24 sujeitos. As informações foram analisadas sob perspectiva da análise de conteúdo. Os resultados obtidos sugerem que a Pedagogia da Roda oportuniza a ampliação dos espaços de escuta e reflexão dialógica no trabalho da enfermagem, tendo potencial para promover o (re)posicionamento do trabalhador como protagonista dos processos de mudança de suas práticas na direção da integralidade do cuidado. O principal limite da Pedagogia da Roda, dispositivo de EP para a promoção da integralidade do cuidado no contexto estudado, foi a dificuldade da equipe para modificar processos de trabalho até então instituídos em uma lógica que sobrepõe os valores técnicos aos valores humanísticos do cuidado. Concluiuse, a partir disso, que a criação de espaços educativos, que se articulem aos processos de trabalho, possibilita a co-responsablização pelo cuidado prestado, a ampliação da autonomia de sujeitos e coletivos para realizarem as mudanças necessárias na melhoria da qualidade do cuidado e, ainda, a aproximação das práticas dos trabalhadores à atenção integral em saúde no contexto hospitalar. / This research has enabled us to acknowledge the potential of Permanent Education (PE) to foster care integrality in the hospital environment, based on the analysis of possibilities and limitations of the use of “Roda” Pedagogy as a device for actions of permanent education of nursing teams in a university hospital in Rio Grande do Sul. A central presupposition of PE that has been used in this research is that reflection on health practices, a learning spot both in and for work, is an important strategy to approximate them to SUS principles. This qualitative, exploratory-descriptive study has been developed from the experience of a nursing team in the institution mentioned, in a project called “Rounds of Conversation about Health Work”. The “rounds” were centered on the reflection on the team’s work process, proposing the analysis of and intervention in daily problems by the team members. Information was collected through the focus group approach. The group was composed of 24 subjects, all of them belonging to the same team, and from all of the work shifts. Information has been analyzed according to the content analysis perspective. Las informaciones fueron analizadas bajo la perspectiva de análisis de contenido. Los resultados obtenidos sugieren que la Pedagogía de la Rueda posibilita la ampliación de los espacios de escucha y reflexión dialógica en el trabajo de la enfermaría teniendo potencial de promover el (re) posicionamiento del trabajador como protagonista de los procesos de cambios de sus prácticas en la dirección de la integralidad del cuidado. El principal límite de la Pedagogía de Rueda, dispositivo de EP para la promoción de la integralidad del cuidado en el contexto estudiado fue la dificultad del equipo para modificar los procesos de trabajo hasta entonces instituidos en la lógica que sobrepone los valores técnicos a los valores humanísticos del cuidado. Se concluyó a partir de eso que la creación de espacios educativos que se articulen a los procesos de trabajo posibilita la corresponsabilidad por el cuidado prestado, la ampliación de la autonomía de sujetos y colectivos en los procesos de cambio necesarios para la mejoría de la calidad del cuidado y, todavía, la aproximación de las prácticas de los trabajadores a la atención integral en salud en el contexto hospitalario. / La pesquisa buscó conocer el potencial de la Educación Permanente (EP) en la promoción de la integración del cuidado en el ámbito hospitalario, con base en el análisis de las posibilidades y limites del uso de la Pedagogía de la Rueda como dispositivo para acciones de educación permanente de equipos de enfermería de un Hospital Universitario del estado de Rio Grande del Sur. Un presupuesto central de la EP, utilizado en la pesquisa es que la reflexión sobre las prácticas en salud, espacio de aprendizaje en él y para el trabajo, se constituye en importante estrategia para la aproximación de estas a los principios del “SUS” (sistema único de salud). El estudio, de cuño cualitativo, fue desarrollado a partir de la experiencia un equipo de enfermería de esta institución en un Proyecto denominado “Rodadas de Conversa sobre o Trabalho em Saúde”. (Rodadas de conversa sobre el trabajo en salud) Las “Rodadas” se pautaron por la reflexión sobre el proceso de trabajo del equipo, proponiendo el análisis y la intervención de los trabajadores en los problemas de su cotidiano. La colecta de las informaciones se dio por medio de grupos focales organizado con los componentes de ese equipo, en todos los turnos de trabajo, totalizando 24 sujetos.

No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2009 / Este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar a contribuição da formação profissional do Técnico em Vigilância Sanitária e Saúde Ambiental para a prática profissional exercida nos serviços municipais de vigilância sanitária, da Baixada Cuiabana, no estado de Mato Grosso. Antes, os trabalhadores atuavam nas Vigilâncias Sanitárias dos municípios do Estado de Mato Grosso sem uma formação específica, recebendo apenas capacitações emergenciais para assumirem as complexidades das funções do setor da vigilância. Buscando atender essa clientela a Escola de Saúde Pública do Estado de Mato Grosso (ESPMT) realiza, desde 1996, a profissionalização desses trabalhadores, através do curso Técnico em Vigilância Sanitária e Saúde Ambiental em parceria com o Escritório Regional de Saúde (ERS) e as Secretarias Municipais de Saúde. A pesquisa envolveu duas estratégias: uma foi análise documental sobre o assunto; e a segunda foi pesquisa de caráter exploratório e abordagem qualitativa, com o emprego de observação não participante sistemática e entrevista semi-estruturada para coleta dos dados. Foram observados os aspectos estruturais das Vigilâncias e detalhes relacionados às atividades realizadas no momento da coleta dos dados, bem como a organização das atividades. Com a entrevista semiestruturada foram indagadas questões sobre as atividades por eles realizadas, as dificuldades e facilidades encontradas para o desenvolvimento das atividades. Também foi possível identificar a participação em outros cursos e o que conseguiu ou não colocar em prática depois do curso técnico. Os resultados obtidos revelam a existência de realidades distintas entre os municípios, passando pelas diversidades socioeconômicas, dificultando muitas vezes a questão gerencial. Os dados relacionam à carência de pessoal qualificado com a ausência de investimentos em capacitação e de mecanismos para a fixação dos profissionais qualificados nos municípios. A profissionalização realizada pela ESPMT é apontada como fator importante no sentido de preparar os trabalhadores para a atuação no SUS. É de fundamental importância a revisão da matriz buscando atender a novo perfil profissional traçado; e que os gestores e técnicos estejam preparados para assumirem sua responsabilidade tanto técnica quanto social. / This study aimed at analyzing the contribution of the professional training of the Technician in Health Surveillance and Environmental Health for the professional practice exercised in the municipal health surveillance services of the Baixada Cuiabana, in the state of Mato Grosso. Formerly, the workers acted in the Health Surveillance of the municipalities of the state of Mato Grosso with no specific training, receiving only emergency qualifications to take on the complexities of the health surveillance sector. To reach this clientele the ESPMT has been carrying out the professionalization of these workers since 1996, through the technical course in Health Surveillance and Environmental Health in partnership with the ERS and the Municipal Health Departments. The research involved two strategies: one was the documental analysis about the subject; and the second was an exploratory research and qualitative approach, using systematic and non-participating observation and semi-structured interviews for data collection. The structural aspects of the Surveillances and information related to the activities performed at the time of data collection as well as the organization of the activities were observed. With the semi-structured interviews, questions were asked about the activities they performed, the difficulties and facilities found for the development of the activities. It was possible to identify the participation in other courses and what was put into practice after the technical course. The results obtained revealed the existence of distinct realities among the municipalities, going through socioeconomic diversities, making the managerial issue difficult. The data are related to a lack of qualified professionals with the absence of investment in training and means for the establishment of qualified professionals in the municipalities. Professionalization held by the ESPMT is considered the most important factor to prepare the workers for their performance in the SUS. It is vital to review the matrix seeking to meet the new professional profile established; and that managers and technicians are prepared to assume their responsibilities both technical and social.
