Biografické romány Františka Kožíka o Zdence Braunerové ve srovnání s dochovanou korespondencí / František Kožík's Biograpfical novels about Zdenka Braunerová Compared to the extant correspondence

Braunová, Linda January 2014 (has links)
BRAUNOVÁ, L.: František Kožík's biographical novels about Zdenka Braunerová compared to the extant correspondence /Master Degree Thesis/ Prague 2014, Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Education, Departement of the Czech Literature. This Master Degree Thesis compares Kožík's novels Na křídle větrného mlýna and Neklidné babí léto with the extant correspondence, which is used in different ways in both novels. The starting point was extensive research, which provided a precise undertanding of the author's intentions. The goal was to find out how the author forms the characters and their relationship using sources, especially the correspondence. At the same time this thesis delineates the difference between facts and fiction with an example of Kožík's novels.

Synthèse de parole expressive au delà du niveau de la phrase : le cas du conte pour enfant : conception et analyse de corpus de contes pour la synthèse de parole expressive / Expressive speech synthesis beyond the level of the sentence : the children tale usecase : tale corpora design and analysis for expressive speech synthesis

Doukhan, David 20 September 2013 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to propose ways to improve the expressiveness of speech synthesis systems. One of the central propositions of this work is to define, use and measure the impact of linguistic structures operating beyond the sentence level, as opposed to approaches operating on sentences out of their context. The scope of the study is restricted to the case of storytelling for children. The stories have the distinction of having been the subject of a number of studies in order to highlight a narrative structure and involve a number of stereotypical characters (hero, villain, fairy) whose speech is often reported. These special features are used to model the prosodic properties tales beyond the sentence level. The oral transmission of tales was often associated with musical practice (vocals, instruments) and their reading is associated with rich melodic properties including reproduction remains a challenge for modern speech synthesizers. To address these issues, a first corpus of written tales is collected and annotated with information about the narrative structure of stories, identification and allocation of direct quotations, referencing references to characters as well as named entities and enumerations areas. The corpus analyzed is described in terms of coverage and inter-annotator agreement. It is used to model systems segmentation tales episode, detection of direct quotes, dialogue acts and modes of communication. A second corpus of stories read by a professional speaker is presented. The word is aligned with the lexical and phonetic transcriptions, annotations of the corpus text and meta-information describing the characteristics of the characters involved in the story. The relationship between linguistic annotations and prosodic properties observed in the speech corpus are described and modeled. Finally, a prototype control expressive synthesizer parameters by Acapela unit selection is made. The prototype generates prosodic operating instructions beyond the sentence level, including using the information related to the structure of the story and the distinction between direct speech and reported speech. Prototype validation control is performed through a perceptual experience, which shows a significant improvement in the quality of the synthesis.

As citações-em Machado de Assis

I will show you the evidences of these discourses in the novel text as well as the characteristics which turn concomitant and similar instances into structural pillars which bear the novel gender, according to Bakhtin s definition. Those structures suggest several discursive approaches, some of them concerning the plot nature, others regarding to a critical way about the sources in which Machado de Assis inspired himself or devoured anthropophagically in order to establish a revolutionary narrative discourse which does not end in those four instances. However, they are like pillars which bear and provide a framework for the greatest acrobat capers . Acrobat capers, this is a way which I would define the style of Machado de Assis, a caper in the air without any rope or protection net towards a joy taken by the discovery of the skill which deludes the reader and leads him to ethereal spaces which are beyond the matter / A proposta deste trabalho é, a partir de uma leitura atenta da obra Memórias Póstumas de Brás Cubas de Machado de Assis, apontar índices que comprovem certa a existência no texto de quatro níveis discursivos: o discurso do Antigo Testamento, o discurso dos filósofos Estóicos, o discurso do Novo Testamento e do teólogo cristão Aurélio Agostinho e por fim o discurso dos moralistas franceses, notadamente Voltaire.

Cedergren, Mickaëlle January 2005 (has links)

Inferno constitutes a turning point in Strindberg's literary production in that scriptural quotations appear more frequently and a new style emerges. This thesis presents the characteristics of the scriptural quotations appearing in Inferno (1897) and Jacob Wrestles (a fragment following Légendes, written in French and in Swedish in 1898). Comparative, discourse, textual and intertextual approaches are used to define the place and role of scriptural quotations in this literary corpus.

From a historical point of view, both novels are part of the religious history of late 19th century France, where religion played a more important role than during the scientific, rationalist era characterizing the preceding decades. Strindberg adopts a new style corresponding to the spirit of his time. The art of "quoting the Bible at random" is a rhapsodic style, which appears mainly in Strindberg’s correspondence, in his Occult Diary (writings contemporary with Inferno) and in the work of some French 19th century writers. This style originates, above all, in the occult tradition, but it is also a means of imitating the Bible and identifying with a prophetic figure.

The research discussed in this dissertation has made it possible to determine, for the first time, what Bible translations are used in the two novels by Strindberg (translations by Ostervald and Martin / Roques). Five different types of rewritings of quotations were found: omissions, cutting of verses, substitutions, typographical changes and inversions. These variations were aimed at harmonising the Biblical text and the Strindbergian text, while removing contextual and theological elements that bothered the writer. The discourse analysis has concentrated on the quotations viewed as reported speech, distinguishing different ways of introducing Biblical verses in the novel. It was found that the narrator's subjectivity is present in the comments leading up to the quotations. The polyphonic character of some quotations has stressed the importance of identification play between the narrator and certain quotations characters such as Christ, Job and the psalmist.

The intertextual analysis has revealed a large number of similarities in the scriptural quotations in the literary production of Strindberg, Swedenborg and French 19th century literature. It is shown that Inferno contains various quotations that appear in Occult Diary and in other writers’ works, such as those of Swedenborg, Péladan, Zola, Huysmans and Chateaubriand. Jacob Wrestles, on the other hand, does not include as many intertextual elements but instead reassembles many scriptural quotations that were underlined in the Bible translation used for this novel: La Sainte Bible, Ostervald's translation from 1890, which can be found in Blå Tornet (The Strindberg Museum in Stockholm). Strindberg is consequently recycling Biblical material when he writes Inferno, while resorting to the French Bible of Ostervald from 1890 to write Jacob Wrestles.

The quotations strewn in Inferno constitute a crescendo and reveal the narrator’s unsuccessful attempt at conversion, at the same time forming the structure of a complaint psalm in which the narrator cries out his suffering and awaits liberation. In the French text of Jacob Wrestles, the writer offers a package of scriptural quotations in order to identify the narrator as "a religious man", imploring God's mercy like Moses and Job. In the Swedish text of Jacob Wrestles, a new perspective is introduced as a result of the change in language, the change from Old to New Testament, the new spiritual disposition of the narrator and the sudden intrusion of the writer in the narrator’s space. The role of scriptural quotations in the entire fragment of Jacob Wrestles is a true linguistic, thematic and theological revolution, which accounts for the narrator's extraordinary religious evolution. The misery of the narrator in Inferno allows a ray of Christian hope, which will persist in Strindbergs’s literary production post-Inferno.

[en] QUOTATION EXTRACTION FOR PORTUGUESE / [pt] EXTRAÇÃO DE CITAÇÕES PARA O PORTUGUÊS

WILLIAM PAULO DUCCA FERNANDES 24 January 2017 (has links)
[en] Quotation Extraction consists of identifying quotations from a text and associating them to their authors. In this work, we present a Quotation Extraction system for Portuguese. Quotation Extraction has been previously approached using different techniques and for several languages. Our proposal differs from previous work since we use Machine Learning to automatically build specialized rules instead of human-derived rules. Machine Learning models usually present stronger generalization power compared to human-derived models. In addition, we are able to easily adapt our model to other languages, needing only a list of verbs of speech for a given language. The previously proposed systems would probably need a rule set adaptation to correctly classify the quotations, which would be time consuming. We tackle the Quotation Extraction task using one model for the Entropy Guided Transformation Learning algorithm and another one for the Structured Perceptron algorithm. In order to train and evaluate the system, we have build the GloboQuotes corpus, with news extracted from the globo.com portal. We add part-of-speech tags to the corpus using a state-of-the-art tagger. The Structured Perceptron based on weighted interval scheduling obtains an F sub Beta equal 1 score of 76.80 per cent.

Gricyk, Oleg January 2018 (has links)
Intertextuality as a method of biblical interpretations is well known and often misused in theological circles. This thesis critically describes how intertextuality is used and what are the main issues with this term and method. The main conclusion is that intertextuality as the modern method is for no much use in biblical hermeneutics though it can be used as an old and well know method of source theory. Intertextuality in the modern view appears to be as a confusing and an unstable term. Philosophical presuppositions of a modern hermeneutics might lead to self-contradictory conclusions. It is not that the attempt to come to original meaning is fulfilled through new interpretational methods, but anyone can introduce any new meaning to old texts. This work shows that the reasons to believe in the death of the original meaning is based on shaky and uncertain grounds. The main concern of this work is introductory citation of the Gospel of Mark. It shows that Mark bases his high Christological understanding on the prophecy of Isaiah and Malachi. Though Mark's Gospel is often considered as the earliest manuscript containing non-high Christological notion, this work shows that Mark from the very beginning introduced us to Jesus who possesses the same qualities as the Yahweh in the books of Isaiah and...

Aiming the approximation of different theoretical fields - Serge Moscovici’s (2007) theory of Social Representations, the Discourse Analysis of French orientation, and Genette’s (1982) intertextuality purposes, reviewed by Piègay-Gros (1996) - we consider the social representations as discursive practices, because both orientate the action of the persons and both lean on the discursive and collective memories to be built through a constant dialogism among the several texts and discourses which already exist. To analyze them, we delimited the relevant discursive spaces of the students’ narratives and we verified the discursive positions they assumed in their enunciations. Then, through a qualitative intertextual and interdiscursive analysis using the copresence relations of allusion and quotation, we identified eleven different aspects which characterize the social representations; from them we identified three social representations and eight characteristics that support them, which were organized according to the notions of central and peripheral systems (ABRIC, 1994), and which verse about the initial and formal process of learning how to read and write as a whole. The students relate about what made them come back to the school, about the motivations of learning how to read and write, about what the acquisition that reading and writing promote, as well as about life without knowing how to read and write and other social representations which were built.

Éric Chevillard et la littérature : Absences et présences du cliché dans l'écriture d'Éric Chevillard / Éric Chevillard and literature : Absences and presences of cliché in Éric Chevillard's writing

Kuleshova, Ekaterina 26 June 2014 (has links)
This PhD thesis is devoted to the prolific and original work of the contemporary writer Éric Chevillard. Its subject is to define the isotopy of cliché in Chevillard's writing, in which the relationship to literature mostly goes through the manipulation of stereotypes, topoi and accepted ideas. Thus, questioning the banality appears like one of the major constants of his texts. In order to indicate the characteristics and main modalities, the work is organized around three axis: the role of verbal cliché in the narrative stylistic organization, then the observation of its intertextual dimension through the cliché of quotation which denounces the trivialization of literary reference, and, finally, the questioning of the doxa ruling modern society. This triple manipulation of cliché defines Éric Chevillard singular position in a contemporary literary field based on notions of gap, ironical distance, and rejection of prosaic realism in literature. The last movement of the study aims at demonstrate that, beyond its own fiction, the cliché is being called on by Chevillard-critique as one of the essential criteria of literary quality, both on his blog, L’Autofictif, or in his weekly column in Le Monde des livres. This is where the cliché truly acquires the isotopic value insofar as its contestation provides the entire work cohesion.
