The range extends up until the year 1919, which precedes the Sampaio Dória Reforms. Two movements are realized: the first consists of comparing the bureaucratic/administrative structure implanted by the regulations of public instruction of 1893 and 1898, with the regulation that created the General Directory of Public Instruction in 1910. For this, two categories of analysis are considered: government offices- the structure that administrates and inspects public instruction in the state of São Paulo, and the category of public post- the criteria established for the recruitment and standards for the posts of General Director of public studies and School Inspector. The second movement consists of a comprehensive understanding of the Paulista school structure, from a qualitative and from a quantitative perspective. In terms of the qualitative aspect, the reports from public school employees who occupied a position of General Director or School Inspector were analyzed in relation to their the evaluation of the Paulista public school system as a whole during the period considered in this project. In relation to the quantitative aspect, school statistics and public resources destined for school maintenance were analyzed, as well as the expansion of the Paulista public school system. The most important source of information related to this topic comes from the state of São Paulo yearly Teaching Reports. This study confirms, first, that the process of the rationalization and the bureaucratization instituted at the administration of Paulista public education was implanted before the Proclamation of the Republic, but was especially after 1910 that this process accelerated, with the creation and regulation of the General Directory of Public Instruction; secondly, it became evident that the administrative/bureaucratic structure instituted by the regulation that created the public offices, strengthened the tendency toward rationalization and bureaucratization of the infra-structure for administering and inspecting Paulista public instruction. This tendency expresses itself in the expansion of the Paulista school apparatus / Neste trabalho, é analisada a organização administrativo-burocrática da instrução pública instituída pelo regulamento da Diretoria Geral em 1910. A análise se estende até 1919, ano que antecede a reforma Sampaio Dória. São realizados dois movimentos: o primeiro consiste em comparar a estrutura administrativo-burocrática implantada pelos regulamentos da instrução pública de 1893 e de 1898, com o regulamento que cria a Diretoria Geral da Instrução Pública em 1910. Para isso, são consideradas duas categorias de análise: repartição pública estrutura que administra e fiscaliza a instrução pública do Estado de São Paulo, e cargo público especialmente, quanto aos critérios estabelecidos para o recrutamento e provimento para os cargos de Diretor Geral da Instrução Pública e de Inspetor Escolar. O segundo movimento consiste em compreender o aparelho escolar paulista, do ponto de vista qualitativo e quantitativo. No tocante ao aspecto qualitativo, foram analisados os relatórios dos funcionários públicos que ocuparam o cargo de Diretor Geral e de Inspetor Escolar, a fim de considerar a avaliação feita por esses sujeitos sobre o conjunto de escolas paulistas no período de abrangência deste estudo. Em relação ao aspecto quantitativo, foram analisadas as estatísticas escolares e os recursos destinados à manutenção e à expansão da instrução pública paulista. Para tanto, foram tomados como fontes privilegiadas os Anuários do Ensino e os Anuários Estatísticos de São Paulo. Constatou-se, primeiro, que o processo de racionalização e burocratização da administração da educação pública paulista foi iniciado antes da Proclamação da República, mas foi especialmente a partir de 1910, com a implantação e regulamentação da Diretoria Geral da Instrução Pública que esse processo se acelerou; segundo, a organização administrativo-burocrática, instituída pelo regulamento que criou essa repartição pública, fortaleceu a tendência à racionalização e burocratização dos órgãos que tinham por finalidade administrar e fiscalizar a instrução pública paulista. Assurer l’efficacité du processus décisionnel tout en y associant les salariés : telle est l’équation que s’attache à résoudre le système français de représentation du personnel. Les réformes successives qu’il a connues traduisent bien des incertitudes quant au meilleur moyen d’y parvenir. Fruit d’une lente maturation, la création d’une instance unique, le comité social et économique, est de nature à affecter durablement les relations sociales. Parce qu’elle concentre des pouvoirs jusque-là disséminés, dans les entreprises d’au moins cinquante salariés, entre les délégués du personnel, le comité d’entreprise et le comité d’hygiène, de sécurité et des conditions de travail, cette instance nouvelle constitue a priori un vecteur de simplification des procédures de participation. Favorisant le dialogue, le « nouveau » droit de la représentation du personnel est susceptible d’entraîner de profonds bouleversements. Laissant une large place au contrat collectif, il comporte de multiples facettes. Une analyse systémique est possible, à condition d’identifier les traits saillants d’un déploiement susceptible de remettre en cause, lorsque l’instance est métamorphosée en conseil d’entreprise, la place accordée à la représentation syndicale. / Combining an effective decision-making process with worker participation: such an issue is central in the French representation system. A series of reforms emphasized a state of doubt when it comes to the best way to resolve it. Resulting from a slow maturation, the creation of a single representative body, the economic and social council, shall significantly affect labour relations. Concentrating powers previously spread, within companies having at least fifty employees, among staff delegates, the works council and the health and safety committee, this new representative body shall at first glance be a medium of simplification. Stimulating cooperation, the “new” staff representation law will likely produce radical changes. Encouraging collective bargaining, it carries various aspects. A systemic analysis is feasible provided that the key points of its implementation are identified. If this body is transformed into a company council, the situation of the union representation may be challenged.

In this paper, we have studied the consequences of the bureaucratic or-ganizational structure for the individual- and holistic perspective pre-scribed in the Swedish legislation for social work. We have asked what consequences bureaucratic organizational structure in Max Weber’s terms can have for the individual and how it can affect the street level bureaucrats’ work performance. This is a theoretical study using and comparing earlier theoretical and empirical studies. Several organizational aspect of bureaucracy, listed and discussed in this study, makes it more difficult to implement the prescribed individual- and holistic perspective. At the same time it is demonstrated that the very same organizational features gives the street level bureaucrats the tools to an administrative fast and effective process. Bureaucracy can also create loyalty-bonds, demonstrated in this study, which render possible a structure where one closes the eyes to eventual moral dilemmas that may have negative consequences for the client.

La tesi è uno studio sociologico dell'origine del marketing tra il 1890 e il 1930 negli Stati Uniti. Seguendo il metodo genealogico che Weber derivò da Nietzsche, presentò nel saggio sull'oggettività e utilizzò nella ricerca sull'etica protestante, ho considerato l'odierna centralità del marketing nel capitalismo di consumo, generalmente data per scontata come un fatto naturale, come il problema della ricerca e ho studiato le condizioni di possibilità del suo emergere. La ricerca mostra come gli strumenti di marketing dapprima si svilupparono autonomamente e, infine, s'integrarono formando la logica del marketing che risponde alle richieste sociali e, al contempo, stimola il desiderio. L'inquadramento teorico weberiano relativo alla dinamica di razionalizzazione e disincantamento spiega perché questa logica emerse come vittoriosa. Vi era un'affinità elettiva tra i fini del consumatore come il tipo d'uomo emergente e la logica del marketing. L'incessante desiderio - effetto del disincantamento del mondo - di esperienze e di sperimentazione sull'identità, attraverso gli stili di vita, del consumatore stava in un rapporto di causazione reciproca con la promozione, da parte del marketing, del consumo come strumento adeguato ad appagare tale desiderio in continuo cambiamento. Sin dall'origine, il marketing produce forme di reincantamento estetico-emozionale per mezzo della razionalizzazione. / The thesis is a sociological study of the birth of marketing between 1890 and 1930 in the United States. Following the Nietzsche-inspired genealogical method Weber presented in the 'Objectivity' essay and used in his work on the Protestant ethic, I considered the present-day relevance of marketing within consumer capitalism, usually taken for granted as an obvious fact, as the research problem and I delved into a study of its conditions of emergence. The analysis shows how marketing tools at first developed separately and were eventually joined in building the specific logic of marketing that both answers to social needs and stirs and spurs desire. The Weberian theoretical framework of rationalization and disenchantment explains why this logic could become victorious. There was an elective affinity between the aim of the consumer as the emerging type of man and the logic of marketing. The consumer's ongoing longing for experiences and for the play of the Self through lifestyles, resulting from the disenchantment of the world, was in a relation of reciprocity with the marketing promotion of consumption as the adequate means to satisfy the everchanging desire. Since its birth, marketing has been producing forms of aesthetic-affective re-enchantment by means of rationalization.

Many accounts of Max Weber’s thought would seek to portray him as a theorist of responsibility or “re-enchantment” – as one who can confirm for us the appropriateness of a liberal position given the conditions of life as moderns, thus preserving the possibility of a renewed project of management at every turn. Such a reading may well be comforting today, insofar as it enables a reconciliation to the constellations of technological thinking within which we already find ourselves engaged. Over and against such accounts, this thesis attempts to elaborate an image of Weber as a hunger artist, as one who brings into emphasis a fundamental sense of loss attendant to “modernity”, and who broods upon that loss as the condition of a more faithful reflection upon the character of being. Not only does Weber offer insight into modern conditions of research and the theorization of politics; he is one who thinks such questions in their mournful profundity, gesturing towards what cannot be carried forward within their terms. In the melancholy of his thought, it is suggested, we glimpse the contours of a horizon from which we have still not emerged.

Este trabalho trata de um estudo teórico sobre o MMPI. Inicialmente, apre-sentamos um levantamento bibliográfico sobre o MMPI evidenciando os seus aspectos construtivos, seu funcionamento, suas características operacionais e suas possíveis aplicações. Em seguida, elaboramos um modelo físico fundamentado nas teorias do Motor de Indução Duplamente Alimentado (MIDA) e do Motor de Histerese (MH), o qual agrega as principais características operacionais do MMPI e reproduz o processo dinâmico de inscrição de pólos na periferia do rotor. A partir deste modelo físico propomos um modelo matemático, baseado na teoria dos circuitos magneticamente acoplados, constituído pelo equacionamento do MIDA, do MH e das fontes de alimentação do estator e do rotor. Deduzimos teoricamente todos os parâmetros necessários para a simulação computacional. Executamos a sua simulação computacional no software Matlab/SimulinkTM, cujos resultados ilustram o comportamento dinâmico das suas tensões, correntes, fluxos e mecânica. Comparando-se os resultados obtidos na simulação computacional com testes laboratoriais executados pelo CE-PEL, concluímos que o modelo matemático proposto e os parâmetros deduzidos podem ser considerados validados. Finalizando, sugerimos um motor monofásico de pólos lisos a imãs permanentes como uma alternativa mais simples do ponto de vista construtivo, porém com características operacionais semelhantes às do MMPI. / This work deals with a theoretical study on Written-PoleTM single-phase motor. Initially, we present the results from the bibliographical research on the Written-PoleTM motor, evidencing its constructional features, operation process, operational characteristics and some possible applications. Afterwards, we elaborate a physical model based in the theories of the doubly fed induction motor and the hysteresis motor, which incorporates the operational characteristic of Written-PoleTM motor and reproduces the written-pole dynamic process. Starting from this physical model we propose a mathematical model, based on the theory of the magnetically coupled circuits, constituted by the set of differential equations deduced from the doubly fed induction motor, the hysteresis motor and the stator and rotor voltage sources. We deduced theoretically all the computational simulation necessary parameters. We perform its computational simulation in the software Matlab/SimulinkTM, whose results illustrate the dynamic behavior of its voltages, currents, fluxes, torques and speed. Comparing the results obtained from the computational simulation with the CEPEL\'s test results, we concluded that the proposed mathematical model and the deduced parameters can be considered validated. Finally, we suggest a permanent-magnet smooth-pole single-phase motor as an alternative to Written-PoleTM motor. This alternative, even being simpler from the constructional point-of-view, presents operational characteristics similar to the Written-PoleTM single-phase motor.

Alencar Gomes da Silva (INCA). Its research topic Process Management and, as a thematic issue, and Analysis Management Process Improvement and inspection services contracts. For this purpose the theorist referencial emphasizes the concepts of Process Management, Administrative Management and Contracts Management and Quality Management. The methodology used in this study was the method of action research, using to collect data to literature, documentary and field research through semi-structured interviews. Involving those responsible for activities related to the investigated processes was established a focus group, making it possible to obtain as a result the diagnosis of the current situation of selected critical processes, draw your business process diagrams (BPD), identify problems, prioritize the resolution and develop an action plan with the implementation of new (BPD) of these processes. It stands out as key benefits: more transparency, fluency and rationality in the process execution, enabling the achievement of improvements in quality and productivity in accountability and management of public resources. / O objetivo desta pesquisa ? apresentar a contribui??o da Gest?o de Processos nas melhorias implementadas nos processos cr?ticos selecionados vinculados ao setor de Servi?o de Apoio administrativo do Instituto Nacional de C?ncer Jos? Para tal, o referencial te?rico privilegia os conceitos da Gest?o de Processos, Gest?o de Contratos Administrativos e Gest?o da Qualidade. The aim of this thesis is to reach a distinctive rationalization of the production and assembling plant of Cargo Van Brno company. In the project of new lay-out of the production area were all restrictions given by management of the company and by owner of the property strictly met. Technological changes of the process plan and investments suggestions are determined by the company's strategic plan.

In hierdie studie skets drie wit Afrikanermans en hulle vrouens die invloed en gevolge van onverwagse uitdienstrede op hulself en hul gesinslewe. As gevolg van onsekerheid in die werksituasie het deelnemers bestaande sosiale- en geloofsdiskoerse bevraagteken. Deurdat die deelnemers egter hulle verhale in die teenwoordigheid van persone te midde van dieselfde omstandighede vertel het, kon hulle kom tot die ko-konstruering van betekenis en die skep van alternatiewe verhale. / To listen to the stories of people, is to comprehend something of their experiences and the meaning they apply to it. Political change in South Africa placed the vocational position of especially the white Afrikaner worker in an uncertain position. Together with the international community it can now be said: There is no longer such a thing as job security. In this study three white Afrikaner men and their spouses depict the influence and results of unexpected retirement on themselves and their families. Uncertainty in the job-situation led to the questioning of existing social and faith discourses. By telling their stories in the presence of people amid the same circumstances, participants were however able to co-construct meaning and create alternative stories. / Philosophy, Practical & Systematic Theology / M.
