Populární literatura a její místo na střední škole / Popular literature and its place in secondary school

Bogoczová, Markéta January 2019 (has links)
This master's thesis focuses on popular literature and its place on czech secondary schools with a research on how much this kind of literature is involved in the reading lists for the Maturita exam. Based on examples we will try to give some proposals not only for what literature lessons should look like and which questions should be answered by the students but we will also prepare worksheets for the Maturita exam where selected parts from works of popular literature will be used. As initial sources we will use basic dictionary works, guides for elementary and secondary schools, Trávníček's researches on reading and reading culture and also expert works concerning popular culture and literature for children and adolescents.

B-Values : Risk Calculation for Axfood and Volvo Bottom up beta approach vs. CAPM beta

Ljungström, Divesh January 2007 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to study the risk for two Swedish companies, Axfood and Volvo. To test the required return on equity, a bottom-up beta approach and a CAPM regression beta are used. This thesis concludes that the bottom-up beta gives a truer reflection and a more updated beta value than a CAPM regression beta on the firm’s current business mix, the CAPM beta takes only the past stock prices into consideration. The empirical results for Volvo conclude that the levered bottom-up beta is 1.09 and the CAPM β is 0.52 for Volvo. The empirical results for Axfood which is categorized as consumer goods sector implies that the levered bottom-up beta is 0.87 while the CAPM regression beta is 0.29.

Scalable download protocols

Carlsson, Niklas 15 December 2006
Scalable on-demand content delivery systems, designed to effectively handle increasing request rates, typically use service aggregation or content replication techniques. Service aggregation relies on one-to-many communication techniques, such as multicast, to efficiently deliver content from a single sender to multiple receivers. With replication, multiple geographically distributed replicas of the service or content share the load of processing client requests and enable delivery from a nearby server.
Previous scalable protocols for downloading large, popular files from a single server include batching and cyclic multicast. Analytic lower bounds developed in this thesis show that neither of these protocols consistently yields performance close to optimal. New hybrid protocols are proposed that achieve within 20% of the optimal delay in homogeneous systems, as well as within 25% of the optimal maximum client delay in all heterogeneous scenarios considered.
In systems utilizing both service aggregation and replication, well-designed policies determining which replica serves each request must balance the objectives of achieving high locality of service, and high efficiency of service aggregation. By comparing classes of policies, using both analysis and simulations, this thesis shows that there are significant performance advantages in using current system state information (rather than only proximities and average loads) and in deferring selection decisions when possible. Most of these performance gains can be achieved using only local (rather than global) request information.
Finally, this thesis proposes adaptations of already proposed peer-assisted download techniques to support a streaming (rather than download) service, enabling playback to begin well before the entire media file is received. These protocols split each file into pieces, which can be downloaded from multiple sources, including other clients downloading the same file. Using simulations, a candidate protocol is presented and evaluated. The protocol includes both a piece selection technique that effectively mediates the conflict between achieving high piece diversity and the in-order requirements of media file playback, as well as a simple on-line rule for deciding when playback can safely commence.

Characterization of peroxisomal multivesicular body morphology and the role of host-cell and viral components in their biogenesis in plant and yeast cells

Gibson, Kimberley 21 December 2009 (has links)
Peroxisome biogenesis is complex, involving a diverse array of intracellular pathways and mechanisms that mediate their biogenesis and cellular functions. Relevant to our understanding of peroxisome biogenesis is the utilization of peroxisomal membranes for viral genome replication as observed in plant cells infected by several members of the Tombusviridae family of positive-strand RNA viruses. Tomato Bushy Stunt Virus (TBSV), for instance, usurps an array of host factors that facilitate the transformation of peroxisomes into peroxisomal multivesicular bodies (pMVB) the sites of viral RNA replication. In this study, pMVB topology and biogenesis was investigated using transmission electron and epifluorescence microscopy of tobacco and wildtype or mutant budding yeast that were transformed with TBSV replicase proteins and a defective interfering viral RNA. Overall, the results suggest that host-virus interactions specifically associated with Endosomal Sorting Complex Required for Transport (ESCRT) and lipid metabolism are involved in TBSV replication and pMVB biogenesis.

Reikalavimų specifikacijos integralumo užtikrinimo metodas / A method for integrity support of requirements specification

Čekanauskaitė, Jūratė, Čekanauskaitė, Jolanta 31 August 2011 (has links)
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The aim of this work is to create A method for integrity support of requirements specification. For this purpose a process model is developed, which consists of three main tasks: the identification of requirements, specification and composition. The first two tasks helps to identify the crosscutting requirements of the following reduction the requirements dispersal in requirements specification, also identify responsibilities of requirements and identify required requirements. The goal of composition task is to compose the requirements to give the developer a view of the whole system and to identify and manage conflicts between requirements. Integrity of requirements are ensured keeping all requirements in a unique form. The paper analyzes the identification of crosscutting requirements and gathering strategies. The templates of requirements specification, standards of requirements classification and requirements management tools were analyzed. The methods and techniques of functional and non-functional requirements for the integrity were analyzed. The unique template for requirements specification was created, which includes functional and non-functional requirements, functional and non-functional crosscutting requirements. The template for requirements management was consisted in RequisitePro environment. The MagicDraw profile package was created, which provide the developer a view of the whole system, representing set of requirements for use case diagrams. The method... [to full text]

Bampi, Rodrigo Eduardo 02 April 2009 (has links)
Submitted by Marcelo Teixeira (mvteixeira@ucs.br) on 2014-05-22T19:40:37Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertacao Rodrigo E Bampi.pdf: 499039 bytes, checksum: 686ab27b7f91e30890928db8d513e94b (MD5) / Made available in DSpace on 2014-05-22T19:40:37Z (GMT). From the publication of the Second Basel Accord (Basel II), which aims to give more strength to the financial market, new implications are expected. The present research has the objective to evaluate the possible impacts of the implementation of the Basel II on the Brazilian Financial System. Consequently, were realized an exploratory study on the second Accord and a quantitative research of its impact on the Brazilian banks with the creation of the exigency of capital for operational risk proposed by Basel II. Through this study, it was perceived that the capital requirement for operational risk will not have a big impact on the major Brazilian banks, considering that Brazilian banks already operate with rates above the ones that will be required by the Accord. It was also found that, at the moment, the indicators of indebtedness and Basel´s Index have not presented statistically significant variation on the financial institutions analyzed. The indicator of profitability has kept a positive variation.
