Tiggeri i välfärdsstaten : en teologisk reflektion / Begging in the Welfare State : A Theological Reflection

Öijerstedt, Per January 2018 (has links)
Begging has engaged many people in Sweden in recent years and the debate has been intense, not least in media. When relatively wealthy people in the welfare state Sweden meet beggars, ethical issues arise. Poverty comes close and becomes more apparent. This paper tries to provide guidance on how each person as an individual could approach various ethical issues that begging gives rise to. The starting point is the potential donor's and not the ethical issues that the beggar wrestles with. The essence of the essay is whether to give money to beggars or not and whether the begging should be banned or not. To highlight the issues, a number of articles have been analyzed that can be considered representative of the debate in Sweden. There are opinion makers in Sweden who argue for a begging bid and who consider that they should not give money to beggars and there are those who believe that a ban is unreasonable and emphasizes the begging as a symptom of a poverty problem that is not solved by prohibition legislation. The different arguments of these opinion makers are compared and analyzed based on a theological perspective where texts from two theologians, one philosopher and a narrative text from the gospels form the starting point. The theologians / philosophers whose ethical approach the essay presents are chosen based on the fact that their thinking is close and has a strong bearing on the essay's question. In his research, Peter Singer has raised poverty alleviation as his main theme, which concerns the issue about begging whose reason is just poverty. He is not a theologian but, in my opinion, enriches the theological perspective. K E Lögstrup is a theologian and, through his ethical theory of the absolute requirement, he can provide an interesting theological perspective on the issue of begging. I will also use narrative text from the Gospel of Luke to highlight the begging issue. Luke's gospel is the book of the New Testament, which most frequently addresses the issue of poverty and the obligations of the rich. Finally, Gustavo Gutiérrez will be treated as representative of liberation theology. The begging issue is much about the power perspective and there the liberation theology has been central in showing that the way we describe reality always assumes a specific context that contains a variety of values that are often assumed to be universal. Simply an analysis of the power perspective needs to be done to make an essay about begging relevant and Gutierrez has a lot to contribute. In this essay I have argued that you do not have a duty to give to all beggars. It is reasonable to make an assessment where the gift is most useful. There may be other purposes where poverty is more acute or apparent and that better needs my gift. It is also reasonable to make an assessment if the beggar is used for criminal activities such as trafficking or prostitution. There are no simple rules for how this should be done, but I mean that it is unethical to give to beggars completely arbitrarily before creating a relationship in order to make a assessment of the individual beggar's situation. That relationship can be created with a few who may be begging in one's neighborhood. At the same time, there is the absolute requirement to take care of our fellow man, who Lögstrup has developed. Over our principles rests an untold, silent requirement that we can not bargain with. The requirement is radical but can not be converted into a universal rule. It might be about giving or not giving money or doing something radically different or not doing anything at all. Every meeting with a beggar is a unique situation that must be judged by the individual at the moment. The requirement calls for listening to God's voice aimed at love and care about the person I meet.

How To Sell A Product : Solo Folk Singing, Personal Branding and Spiritual Journey

Fält, Anna January 2017 (has links)
In this thesis I ́m trying to to find out whether we need to make our art into a product and I am using myself and my career as an example of a product. I wanted to use the word “product” in a positive way and inspire people to think about music management and personal branding as something they could use as a tool when working with something creative. I ́m writing about my own journey as a folk musician and solo artist and wish to turn something personal into something common and shared. ! I approached my research question “How much of a product would you have to be in order to be a successful artist at the Nordic folk music scene?” from three angels. Firstly, I ́ve gathered information that I have from my years as a freelance musician. Secondly, I interviewed a few professionals, and finally I read a lot of material and wrote about the basics of music business and working life of a folk musician in the Nordic countries. My theory is that we ́re all selling a product when selling our music and playing for money, that is why we need to know this product, love and respect it and have a need to share it. I believe that finding your artistic me is a spiritual journey and when you start searching for your “core” you ́ll become a better musician since you ́re getting better in recognising and handling your own emotions. I ́m trying to diminish the polarisation between music business and being a genuine artist. I believe that knowing your core gives you power to work better in the field which is continually changing and demands a lot. This spiritual journey into yourself is also an artistic journey and I see personal branding as a fun and inspirational tool for anyone who wants to get to know oneself and build a personal brand which is true, likeable and also selling. /
Master konsert: ILMOI; medverkande Anna Fält, Joonas Ojajärvi, Jenni Venäläinen

Input - output : låtskrivandes utveckling genom samspel

Leanderson-Andréas, Elinne January 2013 (has links)
This project is about developing my songwriting and the importance of getting both input and output from my fellow musicians and thereby inspired to compose and arrange. I write songs in the genre of pop / singer-songwriter but as I myself am a violinist, I have chosen to play with only stringed instruments and vocals. The band consists of me singing and playing the violin, a cello and a violin player who also sings. In this project, you can read about the process by composing, arranging and repeating the four songs I've written. The goal is to write songs, arrange them, repeat them, record them in the studio, mix songs and have a public play. There is also a personal goal to evolve musically and personally, and self courage of the music I write. Now there are songs uploaded on the Internet (http://soundcloud.com/ violinne) and I am very happy with the results. /
Bilaga: 1 CD

The singer - actor term refers to classical singers that consider any degree of scenic responsibility existed in any kind of his/her repertory’s performance, keeping in mind that the act of singing in public is a scenic act by itself . In this way, there is a demand for the singer to aggregate other abilities beyond the technical - musical production, because his/her scenic attitude is not just a complement, but a fundamental part of his/her artistic practice. In addition, there is a gap in singers professional qualification regarding his/her acting development. The objective of this research is to propose activities aimed at the development of abilities related to the scenic needs of the singer - actor. The research is based on the review of the specific literature on the classi cal singer's scenic performance as a theoretical reference, with the principles of Wesley Balk's methodology (1981, 1989 and 1991) as the main foundation. The proposal of activities is composed of exercises and games whose focus of scenic development contemplates at least one of the following objectives: 1) The construction of an intelligence related to the cooperative and assertive use of the expressive resources of the classical singer - body, voice and face, provid ing to him/her the integration of the singing and acting processes; 2) the stimulation of his/her sensibility and creativity as a way to develop creative autonomy that allows him/her the sense of scenic truth and adaptability in performance. It starts with the exercises in the methodology of Wesley Balk, and it creates details about its application, as well as new exercises that are based on the same principles. Finally, it is suggested the organization of a laboratory oriented to the scenic development of the singer - actor in which these activities presented could serve as viable procedures.

Kan vi rättfärdiga speciesism? : En utvärdering av Shelly Kagans kritik mot Peter Singers definition av speciesism / Can we justify speciesism? : An evaluation of Shelly Kagan´s criticizm of Peter Singer´s definition of speciesism

Vikander, Dennis January 2021 (has links)
Vegetarian and vegan diets are becoming more common in Sweden. Many dismiss meat and dairy products due to environmental aspects and also in favor of animal rights. Human rights is a topic often discussed in politics, in school and at universities. The relationship between animal rights and human rights however are not discussed to the same extent, and how we envision that relationship varies greatly between different people. I believe that there are few who think that other species than humans are completely morally insignificant but the vast majority of people however probably believe that we humans are, in the eyes of morality, at least more important. I imagine there are few who have considered how the relationship between human and animal rights look in great detail and with this essay I hope that we can get a clearer picture of that relationship.

K-theoretic invariants in symplectic topology

Mezrag, Lydia 12 1900 (has links)
Using methods of Chern-Weil Theory, Reznikov provides a sufficient condition for the non-triviality of the projectivization \( \mathbb{P}(E) \) of a complex vector bundle \( E \) as a Hamiltonian fibration. In the setting of geometric quantization, Savelyev and Shelukhin introduce a new invariant of Hamiltonian fibrations and a K-theoretic lift of Reznikov's result. This invariant is given by the Atiyah-Singer index of a family of \( \text{Spin}^{c} \)-Dirac operators. In this thesis, we consider Hamiltonian fibrations given by the Cartesian product and the fiber product of a collection of complex projective bundles \( \mathbb{P}(E_1), \cdots, \mathbb{P}(E_r) \). Using the same methods as Savelyev and Shelukhin, we define a family of \( \text{Spin}^{c} \)-Dirac operators acting on sections of a canonical Dirac bundle with values in a suitable prequantum fibration. The family index gives then an invariant of Hamiltonian fibrations with fibers given by a product of complex projective spaces and allows to construct examples of non-trivial Hamiltonian fibrations.

Råvaruexportens påverkan på ekonomisk utveckling : Ett test av Prebisch-Singer-Hypotesen / The impact of primary exports on economic development : Testing the Prebisch-Singer-Hypothesis

Eriksson, Johan January 2022 (has links)
Earlier studies have shown that countries whose export is highly dependent on primary goods tend to show slower economic development. That is because of disadvantageous terms of trade where prices are rising faster for manufactured goods than primary goods. The purpose of this paper is therefore to examine if there is a relationship between primary export and economic development. Therefore, a number of regressions are performed with panel data that include export data from 45 countries, with a large geographic and economic distribution, during the time period 2001–2020 to see what the correlation looks like between the share of exports that is made up by primary goods and variables that represent economic development, namely GDP growth and wage increase. The result demonstrates a clear correlation between primary exports and GDP growth, which become even clearer when a regression is performed with lagged variables, which could indicate causality. However, the analysis does not seem to show a correlation between primary exports and wage increases.

Youssef, Pierre, Youssef, Pierre 21 May 2013 (has links) (PDF)
