Jornadas alternativas: o ensino religiosos e o movimento Nova Era

Talita Bender Teixeira 23 February 2011 (has links)
The present study consists in an analysis about New Age movement and Religious Education, optional subjects at Brazilian public schools. The intersection Between these two themes happens in theorical and contextual studies through the observation of environment religious diversity, religious phenomenon in which the theme occurs as problematical for the Theology and Religions Sciences researcher. The fundamental issue I try to understand whether it is possible to include the New Age theme in the school curriculum or if this process already takes place in practice, since the New Age comes from personal constructions based on self reflexivity.

A construção de identidade(s) religiosa(s) no movimento "Nova Era"

Aerton Alexander de Carvalho Silva 31 March 2008 (has links)
The change of paradigms in the current society has reached the most varied fields of the human being life, from which we detach the religiosity. ln this context, the movement "New Age" has found fertile land for its development in the varied possible religious experiences. This work, through the concept of "invisible Religion" of Thomas Luckmann, who presents the subjectivity as the place of the options ánd the construction of the religious experience from the biography of each individual searchs the understanding of some aspects of the construction of the religious identity(s) in this movement that is characterized by a sacred without place, a nomadic religiosity, favoring floating identity(s)

The dialogue at the Internet between Christians and New Ages demonstrates the dynamics of construction of immaterial subjective worlds. Such religiosity had been classified according to its proper beddings being, the Mannering Christians, Specific Christian, Institutional Christian, and finally the New Ages. Although conceptual controversies, we are living a period of transformations in the level of the identities, also religious. Among others things, the postmodernity modify the paradigms of construction of the individual identities to the step remove macrosystems of formation of values, felt and identities. It appears, in postmodernity, a universe of identifications. It fits to the individual to determine exactly for itself what he is true through the individual experience and for a system of identifications, and not for an imposition of the social tradition. Thus, we have the religiosity as the form of living the religion at postmodernity.

The Home of Truth: The Metaphysical World of Marie Ogden

Thayne, Stanley J. 24 November 2009 (has links) (PDF)
Marie Ogden's Home of Truth colony—a religious community that was located in southern Utah during the 1930s and 40s—was part of a segment of the American religious landscape that has largely been overlooked. As such, her movement points to a significant gap in the historiography of American religion. In addition to documenting the history of this obscure community, I situate Marie Ogden as part of what I call the early new age of American religion, an underdeveloped part of the broader categories of metaphysical religion or Western esotericism. This thesis also points to several other overlooked figures from the same era, suggesting several avenues for further study.

Aucamp, Barend Bernardus 01 January 2002 (has links)
Text in Afrikaans / Summary in Afrikaans and English / This study is an attempt to analyse and describe syncretism as an encompassing phenomenon from a historical-educational perspective. In recent times, the ideas of globalization, the influence of modern science, as well as certain ideas concerning modern education, are closely related to the manifestation of syncretism. A study of various exemplars from the past and present disclosed the essences of syncretism, thus unveiling the religious growth-motives that underlie syncretism, which also played an important role in the development of Western civilization and the modem world. The multi-faith idea (the idea of unity and synthesis), the idea of secularization, and the idea of relativity, were identified as prominent characteristics of syncretism. The identification and analysis of the essences of syncretism and supporting religious principles. become possible when syncretism is set in opposition to the Biblical and reformational thought processes. Bible-based education provides an alternative to syncretism in a fast changing and post-modern world. It gives perspective on the instruction to people to care for and develop God's creation. The intrinsic characteristics of Bible-based education were used as evaluation criteria in an attempt to expose syncretism. The characteristics of Bible-based education which also provide a framework for establishing a corrective to the problematic educational situation, are the following: • the acknowledgement of the Holy Trinity as central to man's existence; • the Bible/Holy Scriptures as essential for a Christian world and life view; • the essence of a Christian anthropology; • education as the fulfilment of God's covenant with man; • the directive role of Bible-based norms; • the transfer of culture through education • Biblical cosmology as an expression of the Christian faith; • the reformational aspect of Bible-based education. In the evaluation of syncretism, it was discovered that the relationship between man and the Holy Trinity would be negatively affected if the Christian religion were not regarded as the only source of truth concerning the salvation of man and the true meaning of life. The influence of syncretism necessitates a reformational and antithetical approach, which constantly emphasises the importance of the educator's role in the teaching and education of the child in the modem educational system. / Educational Studies / D. Indigo children: gestalt therapeutic guidelines for parents and caretakers; A Christian Perspective.

Grobler, Hermanus Bosman 30 June 2003 (has links)
The motivation for this study was to challenge the Indigo Child phenomenon and to view it from a Christian perspective. Throughout the study the focus was on the researcher's opinion of Christianity, supported by other authors and the Bible. The assumption of the study was that Indigo Children were ordinary children whose behaviour was formed and reinforced by societal and parental influences and guidance. The purpose of the study was to set up guidelines for parents and caretakers in order to facilitate and recommend strategic action regarding the management of these children. Guidelines were set up by using a combination of Gestalt philosophy, a Christian perspective and existing guidelines for so-called Indigo Children. For the purpose of this study Thomas's developmental research and utilization model was applied to the intervention research approach. Semi-structured interviews were used in order to gain information regarding parental styles. The information gained was combined with information found in literature in order to set up guidelines for parents. / Social Work / M.Diac. (Play Therapy)

Imaginaire mystique contemporain et réseaux numériques / Imaginário místico contemporâneo e redes digitais / Contemporary mystical imaginary and digital networks

Aguiar, Carlos Eduardo Souza 26 November 2015 (has links)
The sacred, as a social phenomenon, manifests from a medium, so the sacredness is conditioned by materialities. The emergence of a new medium means, consequently, the emergence of new mystical imaginaries. This research examines the mystical aspects of the contemporary imaginary unveiled by the media and the digital networks. Our research strategy consists, at first, of engaging a media archaeological approach, examining three different objects as mystical artifacts: the writing, the relic and the electricity. This approach, by focusing on how each medium engenders a different phantasmagoria illuminates the understanding of mystical imaginary arising from a habitat constituted of multiple strata. Then we examine some aspects of digital mysticism from the opposition of two regimes of imaginary caused by two material ecologies. Initially, in the era of PC and computer interfaces, there is the emergence of a transcendent mystical imaginary crystallized in cyberspace image and characterized by a new otherworldliness. Afterwards, with the introduction of wireless networks and mobile devices, the image of a reticular animist environment characterized by a return of paganism is strengthened. One form of this immanent mystical imaginary is the technoshamanism, our field of reflection to understand the current re-enchantment of the world marked by the synergy between technology and archaic.
