Design and Implementation of a Secondhand E-bookshopTalla, Ngala January 2011 (has links)
Students have many course based literature text books that they have stopped reading and these books are laying on their book shelves unused. These books can be sold and the proceeds can be used to buy another book the student currently needs. These website will not only serve students but can also serve the entire population or anybody who wants to buy second hand books or wants to empty their book shelves and make financial gain from it. These books can just be simply be uploaded to the website and another student or person can have access to buy the book by just visiting the website. Students also have lesser incomes compared to the rest of the working population. Hence any reasonable resource for getting income is always welcomed. All these will be achieved by creating a user friendly complete online shopping system for buying and selling secondhand books

A good looking design is not everything : A study about trust and security within swedish e-commerceNestlander, Jonas, Björklund, Isabelle January 2014 (has links)
Trust is the most important thing for a webshop. The consumers must be able to feel trust to choose to submit their personal information to a webshop. In this study we examine the impact that design has on the consumers trust and confidence. We study six consumers that are engaged in e-commerce in their everyday life. By allowing these participants to be presented with two different webshops, an assessement could be made in both how much design is affecting and also which parts of the design that leads to trust and lack of trust. We also study things beyond the design, namely the actual safety within webshops and the things that should be found in a webshop for the consumer to be able to trust it. With the help of recent research, relevant literature and the focus group with our six participants we manage to present results that which indicates has a much greater impact than the actual security of the webshop, when it comes to winning the trust of the consumers.

Implementering av en användbar e-butik för tygmärken : En praktisk fallstudie av webbapplikationen Festing / Implementing a useable e-shop for textile patches : A practical case study of the web application FestingBarrdahl, Adam, Berg, Josefin, Fridberg, Pontus, Gunnarsson, David, Lidberg, Sara, Lindblom, Martin, Melin Wenström, Peter, Olsson, Gustav, Ström, Johan January 2016 (has links)
This report covers the development of the web application Festing and the results and experiences which have been reached and learned during the process. The purpose of the study was to examine how the selling of patches could be both simplified and improved by using an advanced web application designed with focus on usability. Currently the patches are sold in a large but geographically and temporally limited market at Linköping University. The project was comprised of a case study and development of an application following the agile project framework Scrum. According to this the projects has been split up into four sprints after each of which a working product was delivered. This resulted in a usable web application with an intuitive design and multiple functions linked to the selling and buying of patches. Based on interviews, surveys and usability tests this web application is considered to have the long-term potential to take over the current physical market of textile patches.

MealMate : A study on how to create a web application that is navigable and trustworthyLovén, Johan, Tetlie, Andreas, Rydersten, Jacob, Eriksson, Louise, Hallbäck, Martin, Carlstedt, Olle, Atuma Löfgren, Pontus, Malmström, Richard January 2024 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to develop a web application where users can advertise home-cooked meals for other users to buy while focusing on identifying the critical design and technological features that enhance navigability and credibility in a web application designed for advertising and selling home-cooked lunch boxes to students, and how these features contribute to optimising the purchasing process. Based on a pre-study where market analysis, user testing on similar applications, and prototypes were examined the team defined an outline for the agile development process. The development followed some best practices regarding version handling, development methodology, database management, etc. The research culminated in a fully functional and aesthetically pleasing web application where the results and conclusions were solidified by extensive user and unit testing. Concluded by the research study, a navigable and credible web application can be created by implementing a simple base layout with a few interactive elements, carefully chosen colours, and creating credibility through user ratings and high-quality pictures. Moreover, the analysed factors are proved to streamline the purchasing process.

What about online store software solutions? : An evaluation study comparing the administrative side of two online store software solutions with criteria from web design, usability and online shopping.Blomfeldt Olah, Paulina January 2022 (has links)
Online stores today need to be attractive to compete on the rapid growing market of online businesses. Standardized online store software solutions sold from IT companies to small businesses are also growing making it easier for anyone creating an online store. Less attention has been paid to how well these software solutions help the administrators to create a competitive online store regarding the administrator’s limited knowledge about usability and web design. This research intends to develop knowledge about how well two online store solutions perform from evaluation criteria within online shopping, usability and web design and how an online store solution for small businesses can benefit from a comparison with another online store solution sold to a larger range of businesses. The two products are evaluated and compared through Heuristic evaluations and A/B testing with 5 usability experience (UX) experts and analyzed with Trend analysis. The results show strengths in the solutions where they both were easy to learn, had easy access to help and good tools for creating loyal customers and weaknesses in inspiring, navigation and lack in mobile adaption. The findings suggest how the online store solution for small businesses can improve their statistics and design colors from the comparison of the larger product. A limitation in the study is that all evaluators come from the same team. For future work more cultural studies can be conducted for online stores in western countries, and user tests with administrators of online shops.
