To begin with, he wrote hundreds of notes published daily between the years of 1890 and 1917, which record activities involving a variety of subjects. In the magazine, which circulated from 1917 to 1935, Silva’s publications increased greatly in quantity and size. All this material, after being organized into distinct tables, showed the Goiano had a peculiar erudition. He discussed hydrography, cattle raising, bandeirismo, geography, history, health, construction of the new federal capital, and many other subjects. Analysis of this material found that the great majority of the publications dealt with the economic possibilities of the central plateau, especially Goiás. These lands were the cause that he dedicated most of his life. Under this theme and for the love for Goiás, he envisioned another project of equal importance: to construct a memoir. He portrayed himself in the region of Goiás as an individual that went to the capital as a soldier, a writer, and a journalist, who contributed to the rediscovery of Goiás. The theoretical reference used for the publications in the newspaper O Paiz was the writing about his own actions. He built his achievements, through (auto)biographical writing, which was also purposefully aimed at the people of Goiás. The project continued in the publications in Informação Goyana. However, from this monthly journal, we sought to analyze the textual production of Silva from the response of the readers and identify how the reader in general attributed meaning to the various topics addressed by the journalist. A dialogue between author and reader, which sometimes occurred supported by the magazine, was an important interaction for the success of his goals. Thus, by writing of himself and the reaction of the readers, Henrique Silva, to a certain extent, immortalized himself before the Goianos.

This study aims to analyze the adult stage diaries belonging to the poet Sylvia Plath, covering the period from 1950 to 1962. To better understand the characteristics that make up the overall of these diaries, I turn to Philippe Lejeune, in The autobiographical pact and "Diaries of French girls in the nineteenth century." In the opening chapter, I associate her writing of herself to the strengthening of the modern notion of individual as well as the split between public and private space, notions that have been built throughout history. From this initial panorama, in the course of this work, I try to reflect on the women's issue, as well as the relationship between gender and authorship, through the intimate writing left by the poet. To this end, I resort mainly to the texts A room of One's Own and "Professions for women", by Virginia Woolf, as well as to the work The Second Sex, by Simone de Beauvoir. I seek to reflect also on the construction process of the self carried out by Plath within her diaries, since this kind of writing makes possible what we call "archiving of oneself". Thus, I understand the text of the diary as a discourse, a narrative that, as such, is endowed with fictional aspects. I work then with the multiple identities experienced by Sylvia Plath, and with the different images and interpretations that others made of her.

Claude Pujade-Renaud or the body in its metamorphoses.

Chatagnon-Weiler, Pauline 12 December 2016 (has links)
From dancing to writing, Claude Pujade-Renaud’s personal trajectory is characterized by heterogeneous sporting, artistic, academic and literary activities. With a heavy emphasis laid on the tight links between real-life stories and narrative plots, this Phd thesis stresses the permanent interactions between bodies and texts. The idea that a literary work is shaped well before its publication will be developed thanks to the analysis of a body of reference works made up of thirteen novels, five collections of short stories, a literary correspondence and a dual autobiography.A literary work is enriched by the initial attempts to put it down into words, using a written or an oral language. Hence, it establishes a particular relation to people, places and time.As an element that is often only sensed, the process of writing seeks to transcribe an untold story. This Phd thesis will show to what extent Claude Pujade-Renaud questions literary genres – a novel, a shot-story, a dual autobiography, a correspondence – to recapture characterization and the necessity of writing. Also, this thesis focuses on bodily metamorphoses throughout time and the writer’s evolution in her choice of words. Through the successive steps of foetal life, early childhood, adolescence, adulthood and old age, we are not just led to consider an analysis on time passing by, but rather, a meditation on the creative potential of words, when they are written but also when they not uttered. As words re-examine the various ages of life, they guide use during an intimate quest for a particular identity.
