Diabetes: práticas e sentidos de cuidado e autocuidado em fluxo no Sistema Único de Saúde (Sus) / Diabetes: practices and senses of care and self-care in flow in the Public Health System (SUS)Alexandre Pereira Cruce 26 March 2015 (has links)
Public health problem of global prevalence, diabetes is booming across the planet, linked to the socioeconomic context, conditions of urbanization and population aging.
Abstract

Purpose/Aim: The aim is to investigate if there are any differences in the reporting from the Olympic games and the Paralympic games, according to different periodicals or magazines, with focus on Paralymics and sports for handicapped. If so, what are those differences?

Material/Method: The material consists of two periodicals, or magazines; Svensk idrott which is the official paper for the swedish Riksidrottsförbundet, and Handikappidrott, which is the official paper for the swedish Handikappidrottsförbundet. Articles considering the summer games in 1972 and 1976, 1984, 1996 and 2000 was studied with regard to models developed by Algirdas J. Greimas. The methods are both quantitative and qualitative.

Main results: The main results are that the biggest difference between the periodicals really lie in the selection of articles and also in the amount of articles published, considering the games. In Handikappidrott, the articles are aimed towards an initiated audience who are supposed to know much about handicapped people and their sports. Svensk idrott focuses a lot more on different aspects of the Olympic games, such as politics and economy. Also has the aspect of normalisation been of current interest – the problem is that the more of handicapped people and issues that are presented to the audience in order to pinpoint the normality of the issue, the more focus come to lie on what is different from the non-handicapped, and in that way enlarge the gap between handicapped an non-handicapped.

Keywords: Olympic games, Paralympics, actants, narrator, implied author, normalisation

Reconciling Material & Social Through Waste : The Case of Överskottet as an Alternative Way of Organizing WasteMIFTAKHOVA, ADEL, Ben Mahmoud, Chaïma January 2023 (has links)
The problematization of waste surplus informed numerous decisions on local, national and international levels. However, the waste pollution problem is far from being solved. This paper attempts to explore an alternative way of organizing waste using the Actor-Network Theory, which argues for equality between humans and nonhumans. We are taking this approach and recognising the role of waste as an essential actor in the decision-making process around waste management. Based on a case study of a second-hand shop, so-called Överskottet, where wasted materials are being transported and processed by people with special needs. We showcased how these alternative ways can be implemented. This shop is part of a collaboration between the Waste Management Department and the Social Services Department of Gotland’s municipality, namely, Region Gotland. This collaboration is a perfect example of the connection between the material and the social. In our study, we are analysing connections between waste and humans on different levels (i.e. municipality departments, humans and wasted materials) and show how these connections create a collaborative network that has both social and environmental impact. We account for factors that strengthen and factors that weaken, thus destabilising the collaboration network. Finally, we highlighted how these collaborations require adapting the existing policies surrounding waste management.

This project is divided in two main parts. Firstly, a method allowing for an automatic conversion of FrameNet's Semantics-based text annotations into semantic representations, according to the Meaning-Text Theory framework, will be presented. This method will lead to an increased set of data usable to develop and improve various Meaning-Text Theory-based projects, including GenDR, a text realizer. Secondly, the conversion task will be used to do a comparative analysis of the two frameworks. We will conclude that the two frameworks are not incompatible, but differ in their granularity and goals. We will also draw parallels between the lexical functions and frame- to-frame relationships, and make some suggestions regarding changes to the frameworks in order to enrich them.

Analyser et gérer les politiques d'hier, d'aujourd'hui et de demain / Sustainable strategies for the public water supply in Paris : analysis and management of past, present and future policies.Souriau, Julien 04 November 2014 (has links)
The public water supply service in Paris is most certainly developed... but is it sustainable? And how can we measure or improve its sustainability? We will here attempt to provide a scientific answer to this question. The purpose of this Ph. D. thesis is to analyze sustainability strategies for public water services, with Paris as a main case study. In less than 2 centuries, the water service in Paris rose from an archaic water supply system to the current state of the art technical and social configuration. However, we wonder now to what extent this collective effort can be continued – or not – in the future. In the first part of the thesis, we present the theoretical and methodological framework used to understand the dynamics governing the development and sustainability of public water services in general. This analytical framework is then applied to 3 case studies: past, present and future Paris’ public water supply development. First, we study the sustainability of past development, to explain how a water service has been developed and maintained in Paris over time and up until now. We analyze the ecological, technical, Seconomical, institutional, political dynamics of this development, in order to identify their driving forces and limitations. Secondly, we assess the sustainability of present time development. We evaluate the capacity of today’s policies (e.g. Corporate Social Responsibility) to modify dynamics, configurations and trajectories inherited from the past. Current sustainable development policies provide significant improvements, but they face resistance and tend to remain marginal or marginalized, even though a strong consensus exists in their favor. Finally, we anticipate the sustainability of future development. We analyze the main projects that are officially contemplated (e.g. the Great Paris water utility project) and their consequences on both sustainability and development. In addition, we built several forward-looking scenarios, in order to discuss possible future paths of evolution and their consequences, facing the declining water demand experienced in Paris since 1990. The purpose of this thesis is thus twofold: on one hand, it aims at enhancing the theoretical understanding of sustainability issues and strategies for water services; on the other hand, it aims at providing improved tools to define, implement and evaluate the sustainable development of tomorrow’s public water service policies.

EXPANDED CHOREOGRAPHY : Shifting the agency of movement in The Artificial Nature Project and 69 positionsInvartsen, Mette January 2016 (has links)
Through two books and a series of video documentations of live performances Mette Ingvartsen makes choreography into a territory of physical, artistic and social experimentation. The Artificial Nature Series focusses on how relations between human and non-human agency can be explored and reconfigured through choreography. By investigating and creating a ‘nonhuman theater’ questions regarding material agency, ecology, natural disasters, the Anthropocene and non-subjective performativity are posed. The resulting reflections are closely related to the poetic principles utilized to create the performances, while also drawing connections to territories outside theater. By contrast, 69 positions inscribes itself into a history of human performance with afocus on nudity, sexuality and how the body historically has been a site for political struggles. By creating a guided tour through sexual performances – from the naked protest actions of the 1960’s, through an archive ofpersonal performances into a reflection on contemporary sexual practice – this solo work rethinks audience participation and proposes a notion of soft and social choreography. The contrasting performative strategiesarticulate a twofold notion of expanded choreography: on the one hand movement is extended beyond the human body by including the agency of nonhuman performers, and on the other hand, movement is expanded into animaginary and virtual space thanks to ‘language choreography’. /
LINKS

https://vimeo.com/164552586

https://vimeo.com/164558381
