[pt] ASSERTIVIDADE SEXUAL COMO UM FOCO DE ATENÇÃO NA SAÚDE / [en] SEXUAL ASSERTIVENESS AS A FOCUS OF ATTENTION IN HEALTHLOHANE MIRANDA DA SILVA 05 September 2024 (has links)
sexual no Brasil.
Retornaram 10
estudos revisados, com nove intervenções diferentes e envolvendo 1285
participantes no total.
[en] The objective of this dissertation was to provide tools for research on sexual assertiveness in Brazil. To this end, two studies were conducted. The first was a systematic review searching for randomized clinical trials with an intervention with an outcome in sexual assertiveness, and their main characteristics and factors that would most impact this result. Ten reviewed studies were returned, with nine different interventions and involving 1,285 participants in total. A meta-analysis showed that compared to the control group, all experimental interventions were effective, whether studies exclusively with American adolescents or with Iranian adults, the latter group presenting high heterogeneity in their results. The second study aimed to investigate the psychometric properties of the Sexual Assertiveness Scale for Brazilian women. A cross-sectional study was conducted with 1,031 women, including women who had recent sexual intercourse and others who had not. We found that the instrument is psychometrically acceptable has good adjustment indices, and did not present a difference in response in these two groups of women. It is thus evident that sexual assertiveness is a social skill with several benefits to sexual autonomy, therefore integrating and expanding its development in Brazil can have a positive impact on the sexual health of the population, in addition to having a measure that can be replicated in studies and clinical practice, verifying these changes in sexual assertiveness.

Kommunikasievaardighede as middel tot effektiewe konflikbestuur in multikulturele skoolsituasies : 'n onderwysbestuursperspektiefVölker, Anna Louise 06 1900 (has links)
This paper endeavours to give a review of the problematic nature of communication skills against the background of multicultural school situations in South Africa.
General intra and interpersonal communication skills are highlighted.
Further to the literature review, qualitative data has been gathered through interviews with a number of principals and teachers who are involved in multicultural school situations.
The manner in which people speak to each other is important. Communication problems can occur when culture groups communicate. The management of misunderstandings and conflict is important in multicultural school situations. Education managers must utilise several communication skills during a conflict situation. The successful functioning of a school is essentially co-determined by the employment of
effective communication skills to improve relationships between different groups.
Education managers should be trained to communicate effectively with all persons involved in a conflict situation. / Educational Leadership and Management / M. Ed. (Onderwysbestuur)

Pour un modèle explicatif de l'épuisement professionnel et du bien-être psychologique au travail : vers une validation prévisionnelle et transculturelle / For an explicative model of burnout and psychological well-being at work : towards a predictive and transcultural validationNtsame Sima, Murielle 26 November 2012 (has links)
This thesis tested an explicative model of psychological well-being at work, including as a bipolar variable, burnout and psychological well-being. Based on the Job Demands-Resources Model, jobs demands (role conflict and workload) and job resources (organizational justice and social support) were categorized. The basic assumption of this model was to predict the direct and indirect effects of job demands-resources on psychological health at work through assertiveness. The goal was the previsional and transcultural validation of the model through structural equation modeling, with two samples : teachers and nurses French and Gabonese. The total of the first wave of data consisted of 273 participants (France : N = 90 teachers, N = 45 nurses ; Gabon : N = 93 teachers, N = 45 nurses) and the second wave was 400 partcicipants (France : N = 108 teachers, N = 96 nurses ; Gabon : N = 141 teachers, N = 45 nurses). In France, results demonstrate that the job demands act directly on the psychological health and their effects are also mediated by assertiveness. resources, in turn, directly affect psychological health. As for results of Gabon, job demands-resources directly predict psychological health, unmediated effect of assertiveness. In addition, in both populations, assertiveness is not only a beneficial variable compared to working conditions, but also a strong predictor of psychological health at work.

Sintomas de ansiedade, depressão, nível de estresse, uso de álcool e outras drogas e repertório de habilidades sociais como fatores relacionados ao comportamento sexual de risco em pessoas infectadas pelo HIV em tratamento na cidade de São Paulo / Symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress level, use of alcohol and other drugs and range of social skills as factors related to sexual risk behavior in HIV-positive individuals being treated in the city of São PauloCardoso, Luciana Roberta Donola 03 June 2014 (has links)
The AIDS epidemic is a major public health problem. It is estimated that, even after becoming aware of their serostatus, one in three people with HIV continues to have sex without a condom, regardless of the partner\'s serostatus. Purpose: To evaluated the influence of symptoms of anxiety and depression, stress level, alcohol and drug use and the range of social skills on having sex without a condom in a representative sample of individuals living with HIV/AIDS and receiving outpatient treatment in the city of São Paulo. Methods: 667 patients - 383 (57.4%) men and 284 (42.6%) women - with HIV and being treated at Casa da AIDS, Emílio Ribas, CRT Santa Cruz, SAE DST/AIDS Campos Elíseos, SAE DST/AIDS Cidade Líder II, CR DST/AIDS Nossa Senhora do Ó, AE Vila Prudente and CR DST/AIDS Santo Amaro participated in the study. The following tools were used to collect data: Mini-Mental State Examination, social and demographic survey, Beck Anxiety and Depression Inventories, Stress Symptom Inventory, Rathus Assertiveness Schedule, alcohol, tobacco and other drugs use survey, Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT), Sexual Behavior Survey, and Sexual Risk Behavior Assessment (SERBAS). Patients were interviewed at the places where they were being treated. Results: The multiple analysis has shown that having an HIV-positive partner and using marijuana before sex were negatively associated with condom use. Having two or more partners over the past three months was been associated with having regular job, have done group sex, previous infection with other sexually transmitted infections, an HIV-positive partner, not living with the partner, sex in exchange for alcohol, drug, shelter/food at least once in their lives, homosexuality, engagement in anal sex, CD4 cells/mm3 count above 350, and use of cocaine before sex. Anxiety and depression symptoms, stress level and lack of social skills significantly affected the sexual lives of that population, making them less likely to have sex in the three months before the interview, but they were not associated with the use of a condom and multiple partners. Conclusion: The characteristics of HIV-positive individuals who have unprotected sex are different from those who have multiple partners. The partners\' serostatus was an important variable for engaging in unprotected sex. Homosexuality and bisexuality, anal sex and male gender were more associated in individuals who had more sexual partners. Use of alcohol and other drugs was present in both risk behaviors. Identifying the factors associated with those risk behaviors and the differences between the profiles of the individuals who had sex without a condom and those who had multiple partners is critical for prevention programs. Such characteristics can serve as markers to help health care professionals identify possible risk behaviors and plan prevention strategies ____________________________

I Kissed a Girl: Do Women Feel Pressured to Engage in Public Same-Sex Sexual Behaviour?Brown, Lucinda Leanne 05 January 2015 (has links)
“Girl-on-girl” behaviour is portrayed as sexy, liberating, and edgy in contemporary popular culture, mass media, and public settings such as bars and parties. This study looked at the relation of women’s participation in public same-sex sexual behaviour (PSSSB), age, and sexual orientation (heterosexual versus some degree of same-sex orientation) with the following dependent variables: perceptions of PSSSB pressure, reasons for and feelings after engaging in PSSSB, sexual depression, sexual assertiveness, sexual self-efficacy, sexual locus of control, sexual monitoring, and use of PSSSB to explore sexual orientation. Of the 451 women (ages 19-40) who completed the online questionnaire, 54% reported having engaged in PSSSB. Most participants agreed that young women feel pressured to engage in PSSSB and listed media, popular culture, male friends, and peers as sources of this pressure. Exclusively heterosexual women who had engaged in PSSSB (n=100) reported significantly higher perceived social pressure, more subsequent negative feelings, higher sexual depression, greater external sexual locus of control, lower sexual assertiveness than all other participants, and lower scores on sexual self-efficacy than PSSSB women with same-sex orientations. Emerging adult, but not older heterosexual PSSSB women, had significantly higher sexual compliance scores. Heterosexual and same-sex orientation PSSSB women had the highest rates of sexual monitoring, and although their reasons for engaging in PSSSB were different, a majority of both listed alcohol and exploration as factors that contributed to their public girl-on-girl behaviour. Heterosexual women who had not engaged in PSSSB indicated the lowest rates of sexual exploration. Reasons for these differences are discussed. / Graduate

Guidelines for the empowerment of professional nurses in the public hospitals of one district in the Mpumalanga ProvinceLephoko, Constance Siphiwe Peggy 02 1900 (has links)
The purpose of the study was to investigate the perceived lack of empowerment of registered nurses in the Mpumalanga Province. To determine the reasons for the perceived lack of empowerment and the effect thereof on professional conduct after which empowerment guidelines would be developed which managers can apply in order to enhance the empowerment of registered nurses in their service, and in turn cultivate confident nurse leaders.
The main study objectives were to describe what empowerment entails, and its effect on professional conduct in the workplace; explore the level of empowerment among nurse managers and registered nurses; ascertain the effect of perceived powerlessness on the professional conduct and behaviour of nurse managers and registered nurses; establish the reasons for the perceived lack of empowerment among nurse managers and registered nurses; determine if there is a difference in the way in which nurse managers and registered nurses perceive the existing empowerment in their public hospitals and to develop empowerment guidelines for nurse managers and registered nurses.
Kanter’s Theory of Structural Empowerment formed the basis of the study and guided the structure of the report. This theory contains three components, each with several dimensions resulting in 14 factors to be tested.
A quantitative research approach, with an exploratory and descriptive design was used. Using a researcher-developed questionnaire as the data collection instrument. The site
population consisted of one randomly selected district containing eight public hospitals in the Mpumalanga Province. All nurse managers and registered nurses in these hospitals were invited to participate in the study.
The researcher delivered the questionnaires to the respondents of the eight hospitals that met the inclusion criteria. Two hundred and sixty seven (267) completed questionnaires were collected upon completion resulting in a response rate of 30.2%.
Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse the data. Generally, the results indicated that the majority of the respondents felt empowered with the dimensions contained under the structural empowerment, psychological empowerment and positive work behaviours and attitudes components of Kanter’s Theory. However the respondents noted that they had limited resources. According to the results those nurse managers and registered nurses who felt empowered, scored strongly in the areas of structural and psychological empowerment. The empowerment guidelines were developed for dimensions which were found to be non-empowering to assist nurse managers and registered nurses in creating workplace environments that could enhance the empowerment of registered nurses in their hospitals. / Health Studies / D.
