房地產景氣與總體經濟景氣關係之研究 / The Relationship Analysis Between Real Estate Cycle and Business Cycle in Taiwan

房地產業的活動被一般人認為是「火車頭產業」,探究這種未經學術嚴謹定義的說法,涵意概有兩層:其一是認為房地產業有極大的「向後關聯」效果,將可帶動相關總體經濟產業的發展。另一層涵意是指房地產業既然有帶動總體經濟繁榮成長的功能,也就意味著房地產業活動所構成的房地產景氣具有領先總體經濟景氣的特質,而為一般景氣昇沉的預期訊號。惟這種說法似乎與現實情況不合:現總體經濟景氣已有復甦跡象,但房地產業卻相對的毫無起色,因此本研究從「房地產業對總體經濟活動之影響分析」、「房地產景氣與總體經濟景氣在時間上領先、同時、落後關係之探討」兩部份,分別以較嚴謹的「產業關聯分析法」與「景氣綜合指標分析法」,來探討該說法的正確性及政策等含意,獲得「尚無充份的證據支持房地產業是火車頭產業」的結論。   有關政策涵義方面:房地產業的向後關聯效果不強,意味著政府如意圖以房地產業為振興經濟的逆循環政策應改變至回歸市場機制的調控,而不應有太多的政策介入。政府不必因總體經濟的不景氣而企圖刺激房地產景氣;亦無須強調總體景氣過熱而打壓房地產景氣。至於「房地產景氣與總體經濟景氣在時間上領先、同時、落後關係」部份,不論房地產綜合、各層面、基準循環指標之景氣與總體經濟綜合、構成房地產綜合景氣重要指標時間上關係比較中,我們有足夠的證據認為「房地產景氣落後總體經濟景氣」。在預測上的涵意是若干重要總體經濟指標可以用來預測房地產景氣未來的走勢。 / The fluctuation in the real estate market is of long-standing, and has evoked much discussion, particularly how the real estate activities and cycles are related to macroeconomics has been an important issue drawing tremendous attention in Taiwan. This research contains two parts : in the first part, we have applied the method of lnput-Output(I/O) analysis to identic the backward linkage of the real estate sector. In the second part, we try to use the method of composite indexes of business cycle for real estate cycle indicators, including individual activities, four different stages of real estate life cycle -- investment, construction, transaction, and utilization, to clarify the " timing " relationship between business cycle and real estate cycle.   Based on the economic analysis, the results of this research are following :   1. We have not found strong evidence supporting the important backward linkage of the real estate sector. It means, in the view of using real estate activities for pushing macroeconomics, the government should not intervene the activities of real estate industry to market mechanism due to the effect of real estate activities contribute little feedback to macroeconomics.   2. Our investigation reveals the macro-variables, such as GDP, M2, the index of stock market, CPI, composite index etc. , tend to be leading indicators of real estate activities over twelve months approximately. This means, in the view of forecasting, we can use certain macro-variables to forecast the trend of real estate cycle in the fliture.

Backward time travel and its relevance for theological study : An explorative literature study based on physics, philosophy, counterfactual thinking and theology

This paper explores the possibility and relevance of theological study of backward time travel and its consequences. An examination of current research on backward time travel reveals a number of interdisciplinary topics which are not handled within physics. Some of these topics, mainly concerning free will and determination, are of interest to philosophers, whereas topics such as meaning and responsibility are left aside.   In theology, there is a general dismissal of the idea of backward time travel. This study claims that this negative stance may be the result of taking science and its methods too seriously. The result of the study is that the interdisciplinary questions connected to backward time travel makes the subject very relevant for theological reflection. Thought experiments on backward time travel can provide valuable insights on how we deal with our lives, our world, time, and God today. / Denna explorativa studie utforskar möjligheten och relevansen av teologiska studier av tidsresor till det förflutna och deras konsekvenser. En undersökning av det aktuella forskningsläget visar på förekomsten av interdisciplinära frågeställningar som inte hanteras inom fysiken. Vissa frågor, framförallt knutna till den fria viljan och determinism, intresserar filosofer, medan andra områden som mening och ansvar inte behandlas vidare. Teologer ställer sig generellt negativa till tanken på resor till det förflutna. Denna studie hävdar att denna negativa inställning kan vara resultatet av en alltför stark respekt för vetenskapens fynd och metoder.  Resultatet av studien är att de interdisciplinära frågeställningar som är kopplade till tidsresor till det förflutna gör ämnet högst lämpligt för teologisk begrundan. Tankeexperiment kring ämnet kan ge värdefulla insikter om hur vi hanterar våra liv, vår värld, tiden och Gud idag.

Amélioration de la prévision des écoulements turbulents par une approche URANS avancée / Improvement of the turbulent flows predictions thanks to an upgraded URANS approach

Ces travaux de recherche ont pour but d’évaluer la méthode dite de la "Simulation auxEchelles Adaptées" (SAS pour Scale-Adaptive Simulation). Cette approche coïncide avec uneapproche RANS classique dans les zones pariétales attachées et adapte le niveau de viscositéturbulente dans les zones décollées pour y permettre une résolution partielle des structures turbulentes.Dans une première partie, une analyse théorique du modèle SAS original a été menéeet a permis de développer une correction visant à favoriser l’adaptation du niveau de viscositéturbulente dans les zones sièges d’instabilités de type Kelvin-Helmholtz. Le modèle ainsi corrigéest nommé SAS-αL. Les modèles SAS et SAS-αL ont été implantés dans le code de calculNavier-Stokes elsA de l’ONERA. À l’issue de cette étape, trois cas académiques d’écoulementsturbulents instationnaires, cylindre à grand nombre de Reynolds, marche descendante et cavitétranssonique, ont été simulés grâce aux trois modèles de turbulence SST, SAS et SAS-αL. Outreune comparaison aux bases de données expérimentales disponibles, une attention particulièrea été portée à l’influence de paramètres numériques tels que des schémas numériques d’ordreélevé. Enfin, afin d’étudier la viabilité de l’approche SAS dans un contexte industriel, les troismodèles de turbulence ont été testés sur une configuration issue de l’industrie aéronautique etcorrespondant à la sortie d’air chaud d’un système de dégivrage des nacelles d’avion. La comparaisondes prévisions obtenues avec les modèles SST, SAS et SAS-αL aux données expérimentalesobtenues à l’ONERA a permis de montrer un gain de précision grâce à l’emploi de l’approcheSAS et ce pour un coût de calcul compatible avec un cycle de conception industrielle. / This research work is meant to assess an upgraded URANS approach, namely the Scale-Adaptive Simulation (SAS). This method is similar to a conventional RANS approach (namelythe SSTmodel) in attached areas and is able to adapt the eddy-viscosity level in detached areas toensure the resolution, at least partially, of the turbulent structures. In a first part of this researchwork, an improvement of the SAS approach is suggestedto allowa better sensitivity of themodelto instabilities such as Kelvin-Helmholtz ones. This "improved" model is referred to as SAS-αLmodel. Both SAS and SAS-αL models were implemented in the ONERA Navier-Stokes solverelsA and both of themaswell as the SSTmodelwere tested on academic test cases : a cylinder in acrossflowat a high Reynolds number, a backward-facing step flowcorresponding to theDriver&Seegmiller experiment and the transonic flow over the M219 cavity experimentally investigatedby de Henshaw. The influence of the numerical parameters was deeply investigated and particularattention was paid to the high-order space-discretization schemes effects. The reliabilityof the SAS approach in an industrial framework was assessed on an aeronautic configurationnamely a nacelle de-icing device. Comparisons between the threemodels (SST, SAS and SAS-αL)and an experimental database available at ONERA - The French Aerospace Lab have shown thebetter accuracy of the SAS approach as well as the high potential of the SAS-αL model.

An electrophysiological examination of visuomotor activity elicited by visual object affordances

A wide literature of predominantly behavioural experiments that use Stimulus Response Compatibility (SRC) have suggested that visual action information such as object affordance yields rapid and concurrent activation of visual and motor brain areas, but has rarely provided direct evidence for this proposition. This thesis examines some of the key claims from the affordance literature by applying electrophysiological measures to well established SRC procedures to determine the verities of the behavioural claims of rapid and automatic visuomotor activation evoked by viewing affording objects. The temporal sensitivity offered by the Lateralised Readiness Potential and by visual evoked potentials P1 and N1 made ideal candidates to assess the behavioural claims of rapid visuomotor activation by seen objects by examining the timecourse of neural activation elicited by viewing affording objects under various conditions. The experimental work in this thesis broadly confirms the claims of the behavioural literature however it also found a series of novel results that are not predicted by the behavioural literature due to limitations in reaction time measures. For example, while different classes of affordance have been shown to exert the same behavioural facilitation, electrophysiological measures reveal very different patterns of cortical activation for grip-type and lateralised affordances. These novel findings question the applicability of the label ‘visuomotor’ to grip-type affordance processing and suggest considerable revision to models of affordance. This thesis also offers a series of novel and surprising insights into the ability to dissociate afforded motor activity from behavioural output, into the relationship between affordance and early visual evoked potentials, and into affordance in the absence of the intention to act. Overall, this thesis provides detailed suggestions for considerable changes to current models of the neural activity underpinning object affordance.

Em alguns casos, assumimos que pelo menos um dos espaços envolvidos no produto é estritamente convexo e isso deu origem a resultados interessantes. Ainda, exploramos os deslocamentos isométricos em C(X), mostrando como classificá-los de acordo com dois tipos. / In this work, we study the existence of isometric shifts on the product of Banach spaces, equipped with the norms infinity or 1. In some cases, we assume that at least one of these spaces on the product is strictly convex and obtain interesting results. Besides, we explore isometric shifts on C(X), showing how to sort them on two groups.

Cette thèse porte sur le comportement en temps long de solutions d’équations de type Vlasov, principalement le modèle Vlasov-HMF. On s’intéresse en particulier au phénomène d’amortissement Landau, prouvé mathématiquement dans divers cadres, pour plusieurs équations de type Vlasov, comme l’équation de Vlasov-Poisson ou le modèle Vlasov-HMF, et présentant certaines analogies avec le phénomène d’amortissement non visqueux pour l’équation d’Euler 2D. Les résultats qui y sont décrits sont les suivants. Le premier est un théorème d’amortissement Landau pour des solutions numériques du modèle Vlasov-HMF, obtenues par discrétisation en temps de ce dernier via des méthodes de splitting. Nous prouvons en outre la convergence des schémas numériques. Le second est un théorème d’amortissment Landau pour des solutions du modéle Vlasov-HMF linéarisé autour d’états stationnaires inhomogènes. Ce théorème est accompagné de nombreuses simulations numériques destinées à étudier numériquement le cas non-linéaire, et semblant mettre en lumière de nouveaux phénomènes. Enfin, le dernier résultat porte sur la discrétisation en temps de l’équation d’Euler 2D par un intégrateur de Crouch-Grossman symplectique. Nous prouvons la convergence du schéma. / This thesis concerns the long time behavior of certain Vlasov equations, mainly the Vlasov- HMF model. We are in particular interested in the celebrated phenomenon of Landau damp- ing, proved mathematically in various frameworks, foar several Vlasov equations, such as the Vlasov-Poisson equation or the Vlasov-HMF model, and exhibiting certain analogies with the inviscid damping phenomenon for the 2D Euler equation. The results described in the document are the following.The first one is a Landau damping theorem for numerical solutions of the Vlasov-HMF model, constructed by means of time-discretizations by splitting methods. We prove more- over the convergence of the schemes. The second result is a Landau damping theorem for solutions of the Vlasov-HMF model linearized around inhomogeneous stationary states. We provide moreover a quite large amount of numerical simulations, which are designed to study numerically the nonlinear case, and which seem to show new phenomenons. The last result is the convergence of a scheme that discretizes in time the 2D Euler equation by means of a symplectic Crouch-Grossmann integrator.

Essays in forward looking behavior in strategic interactions

The general topic of our thesis is forward looking behavior in strategic situations. Mixing theoretical and experimental analysis, we document how strategic thinking is affected by the specific features of a dynamic interaction. The overarching result is that the information regarding decisions that are close to the current one, receive a qualitatively different consideration, with respect to distant ones. That is, the actual decisions are based on reasoning over a limited number of steps, close to actual decison node. We capture this feature of behavior both in a strategic (limited backward induction) and in a non-strategic (limited farsightedness) set up, and we identify relevant consequences on the outcome of the interaction, which powerfullly explain many observed experimental regularities.<p>In the first essay, we present a general out-of-equilibrium framework for strategic thinking in sequential games. It assumes the agents to take decisions on restricted game trees, according to their (limited) foresight level, following backward induction. Therefore we talk of limited backward induction (LBI). We test for LBI using a variant of the race game. Our design allows to identify restricted game trees and backward reasoning, thus properly disentangling LBI behavior. The results provide strong support in favor of LBI. Most players solve intermediate tasks - i.e. restricted games - without reasoning on the terminal histories. Only a small fraction of subjects play close to equilibrium, and (slow) convergence toward it appears, though only in the base game. An intermediate task keeps the subjects off the equilibrium path longer than in the base game. The results cannot be rationalized using the most popular models of strategic reasoning, let alone equilibrium analysis.<p>In the second essay, a subtle implication of the model is investigated: the sensitivity of the players’ foresight to the accessibility and completeness of the information they have, using a Centipede game. By manipulating the way in which information is provided to subjects, we show that reduced availability of information is sufficient to shift the distribution of take-nodes further from the equilibrium prediction. On the other hand, similar results are obtained in a treatment where reduced availability of information is combined with an attempt to elicit preferences for reciprocity, through the presentation of the centipede as a repeated trust game. Our results could be interpreted as cognitive limitations being more effective than preferences in determining (shifts in) behavior in our experimental centipede. Furthermore our results are at odds with the recent ones in Cox [2012], suggesting caution in generalizing their results. Reducing the availability of information may hamper backward induction or induce myopic behavior, depending on the strategic environment.<p>The third essay consists of an experimental investigation of farsighted versus myopic behavior in network formation. Pairwise stability Jackson and Wolinsky [1996] is the standard stability concept in network formation. It assumes myopic behavior of the agents in the sense that they do not forecast how others might react to their actions. Assuming that agents are perfectly farsighted, related stability concepts have been proposed. We design a simple network formation experiment to test these extreme theories, but find evidence against both of them: the subjects are consistent with an intermediate rule of behavior, which we interpret as a form of limited farsightedness. On aggregate, the selection among multiple pairwise stable networks (and the performance of farsighted stability) crucially depends on the level of farsightedness needed to sustain them, and not on efficiency or cooperative considerations. Équations différentielles stochastiques sous G-espérance et applications / Stochastic differential equations under G-expectation and applications

Depuis la publication de l'ouvrage de Choquet (1955), la théorie d'espérance non linéaire a attiré avec grand intérêt des chercheurs pour ses applications potentielles dans les problèmes d'incertitude, les mesures de risque et le super-hedging en finance. Shige Peng a construit une sorte d'espérance entièrement non linéaire dynamiquement cohérente par l'approche des EDP. Un cas important d'espérance non linéaire cohérente en temps est la G-espérance, dans laquelle le processus canonique correspondant (B_{t})_{t≥0} est appelé G-mouvement brownien et joue un rôle analogue au processus de Wiener classique. L'objectif de cette thèse est d'étudier, dans le cadre de la G-espérance, certaines équations différentielles stochastiques rétrogrades (G-EDSR) à croissance quadratique avec applications aux problèmes de maximisation d'utilité robuste avec incertitude sur les modèles, certaines équations différentielles stochastiques (G-EDS) réfléchies et équations différentielles stochastiques rétrogrades réfléchies avec générateurs lipschitziens. On considère d'abord des G-EDSRs à croissance quadratique. Dans le Chapitre 2 nous fournissons un resultat d'existence et unicité pour des G-EDSRs à croissance quadratique. D'une part, nous établissons des estimations a priori en appliquant le théorème de type Girsanov, d'où l'on en déduit l'unicité. D'autre part, pour prouver l'existence de solutions, nous avons d'abord construit des solutions pour des G-EDSRs discretes en résolvant des EDPs non-linéaires correspondantes, puis des solutions pour les G-EDSRs quadratiques générales dans les espaces de Banach. Dans le Chapitre 3 nous appliquons les G-EDSRs quadratiques aux problèmes de maximisation d'utilité robuste. Nous donnons une caratérisation de la fonction valeur et une stratégie optimale pour les fonctions d'utilité exponentielle, puissance et logarithmique. Dans le Chapitre 4, nous traitons des G-EDSs réfléchies multidimensionnelles. Nous examinons d'abord la méthode de pénalisation pour résoudre des problèmes de Skorokhod déterministes dans des domaines non convexes et établissons des estimations pour des fonctions α-Hölder continues. A l'aide de ces résultats obtenus pour des problèmes déterministes, nous définissons le G-mouvement Brownien réfléchi et prouvons son existence et son unicité dans un espace de Banach. Ensuite, nous prouvons l'existence et l'unicité de solution pour les G-EDSRs multidimensionnelles réfléchies via un argument de point fixe. Dans le Chapitre 5, nous étudions l'existence et l'unicité pour les équations différentielles stochastiques rétrogrades réfléchies dirigées par un G-mouvement brownien lorsque la barrière S est un processus de G-Itô. / Since the publication of Choquet's (1955) book, the theory of nonlinear expectation has attracted great interest from researchers for its potential applications in uncertainty problems, risk measures and super-hedging in finance. Shige Peng has constructed a kind of fully nonlinear expectation dynamically coherent by the PDE approach. An important case of time-consistent nonlinear expectation is G-expectation, in which the corresponding canonical process (B_{t})_{t≥0} is called G-Brownian motion and plays a similar role to the classical Wiener process. The objective of this thesis is to study, in the framework of the G-expectation, some backward stochastic differential equations (G-BSDE) under a quadratic growth condition on their coefficients with applications to robust utility maximization problems with uncertainty on models, Reflected stochastic differential equations (reflected G-SDE) and reflected backward stochastic differential equations with Lipschitz coefficients (reflected G-BSDE). We first consider G-BSDE with quadratic growth. In Chapter 2 we provide a result of existence and uniqueness for quadratic G-BSDEs. On the one hand, we establish a priori estimates by applying the Girsanov-type theorem, from which we deduce the uniqueness. On the other hand, to prove the existence of solutions, we first constructed solutions for discrete G-BSDEs by solving corresponding nonlinear PDEs, then solutions for the general quadratic G-BSDEs in the spaces of Banach. In Chapter 3 we apply quadratic G-BSDE to robust utility maximization problems. We give a characterization of the value function and an optimal strategy for exponential, power and logarithmic utility functions. In Chapter 4, we discuss multidimensional reflected G-SDE. We first examine the penalization method to solve deterministic Skorokhod problems in non-convex domains and establish estimates for continuous α-Hölder functions. Using these results for deterministic problems, we define the reflected G-Brownian motion and prove its existence and its uniqueness in a Banach space. Then we prove the existence and uniqueness of the solution for the multidimensional reflected G-SDE via a fixed point argument. In Chapter 5, we study the existence and uniqueness of the reflected backward stochastic differential equations driven by a G-Brownian motion when the obstacle S is a G-Itô process.

High Reynolds Number Flow Over A Backward-Facing Step

Flow separation and reattachment happens in many fluid mechanical situations occurring in engineering applications as well as in nature. The flow over a backward-facing step represents a geometrically simple flow situation exhibiting both flow separation and reattachment. Broadly speaking there are only two important parameters in the problem, the Reynolds number(Re) based on the step height(h),and a geometrical parameter, referred to as the Expansion ratio(ER), defined as the downstream channel height to the upstream channel height. In spite of the relative simplicity of this geometry, the flow downstream is quite complex. The main focus of the present work is to elucidate the unsteady three-dimensional coherent structures present in this flow at large Re, Re>36,000,based on the step height(h). For this, we use velocity field measurements from Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV)in conjunction with hotwire anemometry measurements. The time-averaged structure of this flow is first studied in detail, including the effect of Reynolds number(Re) and Expansion Ratio(ER), on it. These studies show that at sufficiently large Re (Re>20,000), the reattachment length becomes independent of Re. The detailed internal structure of the separation bubble is also found to be independent of Re, but for Revalues that are relatively larger(Re>36,000). At large Re, the main effect of ER ,is found to be on the reattachment length, which increases with ER and saturates for ER values greater than about 1.8. The detailed internal structure of the separation bubble has been mapped at high Re and is found to be nearly the same for all ER, when the streamwise length is normalized by the reattachment length. In order to elucidate the unsteady coherent vortical structures, PIV measurements are done in two orthogonal planes downstream of the backward-facing step. These measurements are done for ER= 1.50 at large Re(Re=36,000) and in a large aspect ratio facility(AR= span length/step height= 24); the latter being important to avoid any effects due to span-wise confinement. In the spanwise plane parallel to the lower wall(x-z plane),instantaneous velocity fields show counter rotating vortex pairs, which is a signature of the three-dimensional vortical structures in this plane. Using conditional averaging, this counter-rotating vortex pair signature is captured right from upstream of the step, to well after reattachment. Spatial correlations are used to get the length scale of these coherent vortical structures, which varies substantially from the attached boundary layer before separation to the region after reattachment. The variation of these structures in the cross-stream (vertical) direction at reattachment and beyond gives an idea about their three dimensional shape. The circulation of these counter-rotating pairs is measured from the conditionally aver-aged fields, and is found to increase with streamwise distance reaching normalized circulation values (Γ/Uoh) of about 0.5 around reattachment. Velocity spectra downstream of the step show peaks corresponding to both the shear layer frequency(Stsl)and a relatively lower frequency that corresponds to large-scale shedding from the separation bubble (Stb); the latter in particular being quasi-periodic. Small amplitude sinusoidal forcing at the shedding frequency(Stb) is applied close to the step, by blowing and suction, to make the quasi-periodic shedding more regular. Measurements show that this has a very small effect on both the mean separation bubble and on the counter-rotating structures in the x-z plane. This mild forcing however enables phase locked PIV measurements to be made which shows the bubble shedding phenomenon in the cross-stream plane(side view or x-y plane). The phase-averaged velocity fields show significant variations from phase to phase. Although there is some hint of structures being shed, from these phase-averaged fields, it is not very clear. One of the primary reasons is the fact that the flow is effectively spanwise averaged, as the three-dimensional structures are not locked in the spanwise direction. To get a three dimensional view of the sheddin gphenomenon, it is necessary to lock the spanwise location with respect to the three-dimensional vortical structures before averaging across the different phases. We use the condition, u’<- urms, to locate the central plane between the counter-rotating structures, which in effect are the “legs” of the three-dimensional structure. With this condition, we effectively get a slice of the shedding cycle cutting through the “head” of the three-dimensional structure. Apart from this cut, we also get a cut between adjacent structures from the weak sweep events, with the condition u’<- urms. Using these conditions, on the phase-locked velocity fields, we effectively lock the structures in time, as well as in the spanwise direction. With this ,a clearer picture of the shedding process emerges. The flow is highly three-dimensional near reattachment and the shedding of the separation bubble is modulated in the spanwise direction owing to the three-dimensional hairpin like vortical structures in the flow. The separation bubble is seen bulged out and lifted high at locations where the head of the hairpin vortex passes, owing to the strong ejection of fluid caused by the vortical structure. On the other hand, outside the hairpin vortices, weak sweep events push the flow towards the wall and make it shallow and less prominent, with the shedding being very weak in this plane. From these observations, a three-dimensional picture of the flow is proposed.

Optimisation de dispositifs de contrôle actif pour des écoulements turbulents décollés / Optimization of active control devices for separated turbulent flows

Les stratégies de contrôle d’écoulement, telles que le soufflage / aspiration, ont prouvé leur efficacité à modifier les caractéristiques d’écoulement à des fins diverses en cas de configurations usuellement simples. Pour étendre cette approche sur des cas industriels, la simulation de dispositifs à échelle réelle et l’optimisation des paramètres de contrôle s’avèrent nécessaires. L’objectif de cette thèse est de mettre en place une procédure d’optimisation pour résoudre cette catégorie de problèmes. Dans cette perspective, l’organisation de la thèse est divisé en trois parties. Tout d’abord, le développement et la validation d’un solveur d’écoulement turbulent compressible instationnaire, résolvant les équations de Navier-Stokes moyennées (RANS) dans le cadre d’une discrétisation mixte de type éléments finis / volumes finis (MEV) sont présentés. Une attention particulière est portée sur la mise en œuvre de modèles numériques de jet synthétique à l’aide de simulations sur une plaque plane. Le deuxième axe de la thèse décrit et valide la mise en œuvre d’une méthode d’optimisation globale basée sur un modèle réduit du type processus gaussien (GP), incluant une approche de filtrage d’erreurs numériques liées aux observations. Cette méthode EGO (Efficient Global Optimization), est validée sur des cas analytiques bruités 1D et 2D. Pour finir, l’optimisation de paramètres de contrôle de jet synthétique sur deux cas test pertinents pour les industriels : un profil d’aile NACA0015, avec objectif de maximiser la portance moyenne et une marche descendante avec objectif de minimiser la longueur de recirculation moyenne. / Active flow control strategies, such as oscillatory blowing / suction, have proved their efficiency to modify flow characteristics for various purposes (e.g. skin friction reduction, separation delay, etc.) in case of rather simple configurations. To extend this approach to industrial cases, the simulation of a large number of devices at real scale and the optimization of parameters are required. The objective of this thesis is to set up an optimization procedure to solve this category of problems. In this perspective, the organization of the thesis is split into three main parts. First, the development and validation of an unsteady compressible turbulent flow solver using the Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) using a Mixed finite-Element/finite-Volume (MEV) framework is described. A particular attention is drawn on synthetic jet numerical model implementation by comparing different models in the context of a simulation over a flat plate. The second axis of the thesis describes and validates the implementation of a Gaussian Process surrogate model based global optimization method including an approach to account for some numerical errors during the optimization. This EGO (Efficient Global Optimization) method, is validated on noisy 1D and 2D analytical test cases. Finally, the optimization of two industrial relevant test cases using a synthetic jet actuator are considered: a turbulent flow over a NACA0015 for which the time-averaged lift is regarded as the control criterion to be maximized, and an incompressible turbulent flow over a Backward Facing Step for which the time-averaged recirculation length is minimized.
