Redo för ett liv med kultur : Sex kulturskolelärares perspektiv på sina elevers livslånga lärande genom ideellt kulturutövande / Ready for a life with culture : Six culture school teachers’ perspectives on their students lifelong learning through non-profit cultural practitioning

Nygren, Sofia January 2020 (has links)
This essay is a qualitative study that examines the relationship between the Swedish kulturskola (non-compulsory cultural school for children and young adults), the non-profit cultural life and the phenomenon of lifelong learning. It raises the question wether teachers in the cultural school have a plan for their students lifelong learning or not; what their experience is of collaboration with the non-profit cultural life and if they take any concrete actions to facilitate the students entry into the local cultural life as amateur cultural practitioners. The theoretical framework is the situated learning theory by Lave & Wenger and the context of action theory by Dreier. Six teachers have been interviewed in the study. The result of the study is that the teachers see great values of their students lifelong learning, however, the collaboration with non-profit cultural associations is not always easy because of differences in perspective. It is helpful if the teacher him-/herself has the possibility of being personally engaged in, or at least has experience from, the non-profit cultural life, in order to be able to bridge the gap that arises for students trying to enter the adult cultural world. It is also suggested that teachers need to be given enough resources and support to be able to participate in collaborations with the associations of the local non-profit cultural life. The matter of students’ lifelong learning is urgent not only for the individual student or cultural organizations, but also for the society as a whole.

Musikundervisning och musikterapi : En kvantitativ studie om musiklärarnas arbete med elever med funktionsnedsättning / Music education and Music therapy : A quantitative study about music teachers’ work with students with disabilities

Vetosjkina, Olga January 2019 (has links)
This study’s purpose is to illuminate issues about the use of music therapy at schools in Sweden. Music therapy occasionally comes into use during music education with students who have disabilities. Primarily this seems to apply when a music teacher is also a trained music therapist. One problem is which type of music therapeutic knowledge and competence can actually be used when working with students with disabilities in schools. Another problem is the way in which music teachers are given the opportunity, to take part in music therapeutic knowledge and skills during their education. The hypothesis that forms the basis of the present study, is that music teachers need knowledge and competence about music therapy when teaching students with different development disorders. The study is based on a quantitative questionnaire survey, aimed at music teachers who teach students with disabilities. The study's research questions read: How many of the music teachers in the survey have some sort of music therapy as part of their education? How many people use some form of intervention that requires music therapeutic knowledge or competence in their teaching? And how often does this happen? How do teachers see the use of music therapy in schools? The result showed that the teachers felt that more educated music teachers with music therapeutic competence were needed in all school forms to provide students with the necessary support in development. The teachers’ thoughts about how music therapy and music therapeutic tools can be used as a health-promoting, developing resource in the pedagogical work in different school activities and as part of student health are part of the result. The study's conclusion is that a model or a concept is needed for the preparation and use of music therapeutic knowledge and competence in music teachers training when working with students at schools.

Kulturstråket / The Cultural highway

Tang, Hans January 2017 (has links)
Älvsjö is a strong traffic hub with good rail and bus connections and a destination for all visitors to the popular Stockholmsmässan. A cultural school would strengthen and develop the site further as a meeting place and connect Älvsjö center, Älvsjö station with Stockholmsmässan. A cultural meeting place where children and young people between 6-22 years can meet in conjunction with cultural activities such as dance, music, theater and art. The concept is to create a distinct public way through the building that takes the visitor from the Älvsjö station down to the park and possibly further on to Stockholmsmässan. The Cultural highway is public and accessible for everybody. Let people take note of what is happening in the cultural school and be part of the exhibitions and performances taking place. The Cultural highway is the hub of the cultural school where childrens, teenagers and their parents gathers in anticipation of the lessons. The Cultural highway is the foyer and the main room in the school where other visitors can use it as a passage and take part of what happens in the building with all its cultural activities.
