The following research was developed in the range of the Professional Master degree in Education Management and Evaluation (PPGP) of the Center of Public Policies and Evaluation of Education of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (CAED/UFJF). The case in study has the objective of answering the question: How can CESEC management increase the literary reading at the school library? The research objective is to investigate the library‟s literary books use by its students. Besides that, the study aims to present a proposal to increase the library‟s literary books use by those students, since the demand for literature is small. We take as a hypothesis: i) the CESEC‟s students have the goal to finish basic education in a fast way; ii) these student have a lack of time to dedicate for study purpose; iii) there are no literary projects inside the school. As methodology, it was used the exploratory research, based on many authors concepts. As research instruments, there were used documents, library registers, interviews with teachers and specialists, and forms, answered by professors and school advisors. To finish, after the interview analysis, this dissertation presents a proposal that aims to increase the library‟s literary books use.

Informellt lärande i fritidshemmet : Om hur fritidshemslärare arbetar för att väcka elevernas intresse för matematikNkurunziza, Divin, Touma, Christian January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of our study is to get an overview of how the after-school teachers work to arouse children's interest in mathematics and how they further develop the children's mathematical knowledge. The study is examined with the help of the following questions: How do educators believe that students' interest in mathematics can be aroused through informal learning? How can the informants' ideas about informal learning in the after-school center be understood with the help of socio-cultural theories? We chose qualitative interviews as the method of our data collection in our study, in which three trained after-school center teachers were happy to participate. The empirical data that we collected has been analyzed through the socio-cultural theory. Furthermore, we chose to discuss our study with regard to previous research, which then consisted of nine researchers. The results show that children through play and activities develop more than we think and that informal learning as a way to arouse interest and learning, is the basis for after-school teachers. Furthermore, the results show that the themes that we have analyzed can possiblyhave a positive impact on the business. Then, among other things, creativity and collaborationas strategies, collaboration with teachers and the environment are discussed.

Exploring the Relationship between Physical Activity and Executive Function in Early Childhood Populations: An Investigation of Maternal Encouragement of ActivityDriggers-Jones, Lauren P 01 August 2017 (has links) (PDF)
Researchers have found positive associations between physical activity and executive function in adolescence and adulthood. However, research in early childhood has revealed only negative relationships. In the present study, I explored whether maternal encouragement of physical activity might moderate this relationship in very young children. Using video recordings from an archival dataset, eight maternal encouragement measures were derived from mother-child free play sessions. Although it was expected that maternal encouragement of child activity would broadly play a moderating role in the relationship between children’s physical activity and their executive function, only maternal questions seemed to moderate this relationship. One explanation for these overarching null findings is that maternal encouragement of physical activity may not have a moderating effect until later, such as when children are well on their way into language. Future efforts to explore the impacts of physical activity on executive function may benefit from experimental approaches.

Pedagogų ir tėvų bendradarbiavimas neformaliajame muzikiniame ugdyme: motyvacijos skatinimo aspektas / Cooperation of pedagogues and parents in informal musical education: aspect of motivation encouragementVaškelienė, Rasa 03 August 2012 (has links)
In order to meet the need for musical education and to ensure achievement of it’s goals it is important not only to have a possibility to select an educational institution or an educational program meeting personal interests, but also to create conditions for a child to enjoy the informal musical activity selected. Unfortunately, very often the problem is encountered related to the lack of motivation in a child for informal musical activity and preventing him from successfully involving into such activity. Since motivation of the child is predetermined by several factors related to his whole environment, it is particularly important for a pedagogue to also involve children’s parents into the process of informal musical education as well as to cooperate with the latter. Therefore, the paper analyses possibilities of cooperation between pedagogues and parents in influencing the factors affecting the child’s motivation for informal musical activity: personal characteristic features of the child, family, pedagogue’s personality and competences, contemporaries.
