Spårvägskonstruktioner : Underlätta valet av spårvägskonstruktion / Tramway constructions : To help with the choice of tramway construction

Lindmark, Rebecka, Pettersson, Johan January 2014 (has links)
The tramways of Stockholm are growing at an increasing rate and so is the number of municipals interested in that type of transportation.  In Stockholm’s tramway industry there is currently a lack of knowledge and experience on the subject of tramways. Drift and maintenance has been minimal due to lack of prioritization since Tvärbanan was opened. This has led to a premature reinvestment of millions of SEK for road tracks. Due to different presumptions that have to be taken into account such as noise, considerations of room and geoscience, there are many different constructions to choose from when a tramway is to be built. This report’s purpose serves to facilitate choice of tramway investments in the future. Another goal of the report is to contribute with knowledge of how important service and maintenance of tramways is and why shying away from spending money on these matters is bad. For the purpose of this report a restriction has been made, five tramway constructions will be looked at, these are present in Stockholm but also in Göteborg and Norrköping. To acquire an understanding of how the constructions are built, a description of these is accounted for in the report. The report starts off with a historical perspective on tramways, closure of them and reinvestment of them in Stockholm. The years of gaps between closure and reinvestment in Stockholm shows how much knowledge has been forgotten and has to be reacquired for future investments. In the end of the report an analysis, about placement of the different constructions, how varied the pros and cons are and the costs of these, is presented. Much of the report is based on literature studies of earlier reports and has been complemented with continuous meetings with tutors and contact with people from different municipals and companies in Sweden to obtain trustworthy information.

Det får inte bli för mycket Hollywood : En undersökning om spelfilmens roll i religionskunskapsundervisningen / Don’t Make it too Hollywood : A Study on the Role of Fictional Films in Religious Studies

Ahrent, Edgar Anders Bisse, Tomelius, Jakob Nils Erik January 2023 (has links)
This thesis aims to examine students and teachers’ attitudes towards the use of fiction film in religious studies in upper secondary schools in the province of Scania in Sweden. The thesis has a particular focus on the use of film in order to facilitate understanding of different religions and views of life and what students report gaining from viewing film in the classroom. For this purpose, two research questions were formulated: “How do teachers of religious studies in upper secondary school view the use of fiction film as a teaching resource for the purpose of facilitating understanding of different views of life and religions?” and “How do students view the use of fiction film as a learning resource in religious studies and what do they gain from watching fiction film during religious education?” In order to answer these research questions, ethnographic empirical material was collected from surveys of students as well as a survey of religious education teachers in upper secondary schools in Scania. These surveys were combined with three interviews with upper secondary religious education teachers from two different schools in Scania. This material was later analysed from a hermeneutical perspective with a grounding in previous research in the use of film as a teaching resource. The research found that teachers in upper secondary schools who responded to the survey and were interviewed had a generally positive view on the use of fiction film in religious studies and were positive towards the use of film to facilitate understanding of different views of life and religions. However, teachers showed a bit more trepidation towards the use of fiction films to show how people live their religions. Teachers also expressed that lack of time was a main factor in avoiding the use of fiction film in their teaching. Students were mostly favourable towards the use of film as an educational tool in religious education, however not as big of a majority as the teachers. They also showed a propensity towards wanting to watch fiction films in combination with discussions and group work.

Development of a training program to facilitate the implementation of the six ministerial priorities by professional nurses in Limpopo Province Health Care Facilities, South Africa

Legodi, Elizabeth Mmalehu January 2022 (has links)
Thesis (Ph.D. (Nursing Science)) -- University of Limpopo, 2022 / The purpose of this study was to develop a training programme to facilitate the implementation of the 6 Ministerial Priorities by Professional Nurses in the Health Care facilities in Limpopo Province. The purpose of the training programme was to capacitate the Professional Nurses to enable them to facilitate the implementation of the 6 Ministerial Priorities in the Health Care facilities of Limpopo to improve the provision of quality service. The study was conducted in three phases, namely, qualitative, quantitative and development of a training programme. Phenomenological semi structured one-to-one interviews were conducted to explore the perceptions of Professional Nurses on the implementation of the 6 Ministerial Priorities in the public hospitals in Limpopo Province. Interviews were conducted until saturation was reached. Themes and sub-themes were coded manually. The results of the qualitative phase were used to develop a questionnaire for the quantitative phase. Self-administered quantitative questionnaires were given to Professional Nurses to describe their experiences, knowledge and perceptions on the implementation of the 6 Ministerial Priorities in the Health Care facilities of Limpopo. The results that emerged from the integration of qualitative and quantitative results revealed that 6 Ministerial Priorities were not implemented effectively in the Health Care facilities due to challenges such as shortage of Professional Nurses and cleaners, shortage of cleaning material, linen and patients clothing. Shortage of medication, lack of in-service training on the 6 Ministerial Priorities and lack of orientation programme for the newly appointed Professional Nurses. These challenges affected the implementation of 6 Ministerial Priorities negatively thus compromising the provision of quality patient care. The training programme was developed for Professional Nurses to capacitate them on the facilitation of the implementation of the 6 Ministerial Priorities to improve quality care.

Future Assembly : AURES - The intelligent assisting arm / Framtidens montering

Ingvaldson, Anton January 2016 (has links)
The world is constantly changing and workers are forced to adapt to a pace that is more suitable for machines. In the Automotive Industry assembly line workers injuries keeps increasing despite major improvements in recent years. This is due to the cause that the marked demands more goods but to a lower cost. With this in mind, how can we create an aid for assembly line workers that could decrease repetitive strain injuries, facilitate flexibility and reduce the weight load on the workers joints? In this project I have explored the possibility to create new and intelligent aids for the assembly lines with great focus the human body and ergonomics.

Geriatrická léčebná rehabilitace / Geriatric curative rehabilitation

BAUDYŠOVÁ, Petra January 2007 (has links)
The objective of the Thesis is to coherently process the topic on grounds of a survey in order to provide utility value for relatives of a permanently or temporarily helpless senior. The theoretical part concentrated on presentation of suitable rehabilitation methods and techniques during stay in a traumatologic department, problems of a hospitalized senior, institutional provision of subsequent rehabilitation in available medical facilities, compensation aids and fall prevention. I have performed the survey on grounds of direct hidden observation, interview and experiment {--} use of a sign language in ergotherapy. Problems of hospitalized seniors are solution of subsequent care, unpreparedness for old-age, inconvenient housing due to barriers, associated diseases, worsened adaptation to stereotype changes (e.g. necessary change of compensation aids facilitating motion).

Opvoedkundig-sielkundige effek van egskeiding op die wil- en motiveringslewe van die kind in die middelkinderjare

Van Jaarsveld, Joëylene 30 November 2007 (has links)
The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of divorce on the will and motivation of the child in the middle childhood phase. Instruments are identified for adaptation and use in determining the effect of divorce. In addition, ways of equipping the educational psychologist to facilitate the child's adjustment during and after the divorce process are examined. A literature study was undertaken to determine the theoretical context of the effect of divorce. A study was also undertaken of the cognitive development of the child in the middle childhood phase, which could shed some light on the reactions of the child during the divorce of his or her parents. The results of the empirical investigation showed that the child in the middle childhood phase can exhibit intrinsic motivation during the divorce process. It is, however, the external factors accompanying divorce that could cause the child to display a reduced will or motivation. / Educational Studies / M. Ed. (Voorligting)

Information technology competence in undergraduate public administration

Van Jaarsveldt, Liza Ceciel 11 1900 (has links)
This research was selected after the South African Minister of Public Service and Administration, Minister Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi’s, statement in the Budget vote speech of 2002 that government spent an estimated R3 billion per annum on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) goods and services, but that only 20 percent of public servants are computer literate. In 2004, this was illustrated again by the Minister who stated that the government will be recruiting new skilled personnel and that the recruitment will take place primarily from African countries, India and Iran. During 14 to 17 November 2005 the Minister lead a delegation to India with the specific purpose of reaching agreements between the two countries for assistance by the Indian public service through the transfer of Indian public servants, as well as training interventions and mentorship programmes for South African public servants.technology is one of the key strategies that governments can use to reform and improve public service delivery. Large amounts of information are required to deliver public services, for example pension and unemployment administration. However, to make proper use of and benefit from information technology public servants will need information technology skills and knowledge. It is generally accepted that universities provide Public Administration education to students that will become the future workforce in the public service. It is the duty of a university to provide scientifically inspired career education to students. Universities undertake to provide the knowledge as well as higher education to students in order to function effectively in the workplace. A student studying for a career should be able to gain knowledge about the field of study and gain the necessary skills to be used in practice. Thus, students in Public Administration should not only have knowledge about the subject Public Administration, they should also be able to act as professional public servants that can serve the public. The question can however be asked whether the curricula provided to undergraduate Public Administration students at South African universities comply with the needs of the public work force when considering the use of information technology competencies? / Public Administration and Management / D. Factors influencing the uptake of male circumcision as HIV prevention strategy among adolescent boys in Nanogang Community Junior Secondary School (NCJSS) Gaborone, Botswana

Goshme, Yewondwossen Mulugeta 04 1900 (has links)
A quantitative and descriptive type of study design was followed using structured self-administered questionnaires distributed among 84 conveniently selected male adolescent learners from Nanogang Community Junior Secondary School (NCJSS) in Gaborone. The purpose of this study was to describe factors that influence the uptake of safe male circumcision (SMC) as a human immune-deficiency virus (HIV) prevention strategy among male adolescent learners. The study findings show that protection from HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) was found to be the main reason for adolescent learners undergoing male circumcision (MC) (p<.01). Reasons such as maintenance of genital hygiene, culture, religion, and the enhancement of sexual pleasure were not found to be significant factors. Misconceptions such as the belief that girls do not like circumcised partners were found to be the main reason for adolescent learners not undergoing MC (p<.05). A number of factors which were claimed in previous studies to be obstacles for the uptake of MC, such as surgical complications, peer pressure, stigma, and discrimination, were not found to be major obstacles / Health Studies / M.A. (Public Health)
