In this sense, it discusses the traits that could enhance or contribute to the creation of a network of obstacles or impediments to femininity. The theoretical framework of the dissertation is based on psychoanalysis, especially the work of Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan. This study aims to address questions arising from clinical practice, since it was a combination of clinical facts that raised the questions which led to the beginning of this path of study. Therefore, this research has clinical experience as a starting point, being conducted on a clinical case specifically chosen for demonstrating the drama of a young woman faced with the issues involving the loss of virginity and the non-recognition of this experience as a mark of the process of becoming a woman before society. The path taken by the young woman toward womanhood marks the psychic nature of this process and shows that on the issues surrounding femininity the logic of recognition may be in check. Psychoanalysis, through Lacan, states that "Woman does not exist," concluding that in the constitution of female sexuality there is something enigmatic and unique, beyond the Oedipal and castration complexes, making it impossible for a single and universal path to be established in the process of becoming a woman. Becoming man or woman is a matter of sexualization, a matter of choice of jouissance. The consequence of this choice is that masculine and feminine are divided according to the castration mode of jouissance in relation to the Other sex: one phallic and the other not-all. The phallus is the signifier of phallic jouissance, which inscribes the logic of phallic signification. The Other jouissance, the feminine one, has to do with a kind of paradox of recognition, unlike the male position. For there is no significant determining the woman in the unconscious and, therefore, every woman is a construction. Women, without a symbolic feature defining them, are required to construct, and create piece by piece, their own version of femininity. Obstacles to femininity can be accentuated if the woman does not accept that this trait is absent, condemning her to an eternal quest for recognition which would point to hysteria / O tema desta pesquisa de mestrado é o sujeito feminino e suas questões em torno da feminilidade.

A mascarada lacaniana: arte e revolução, vertentes possíveis à feminilidade

Maranhão, Mírian Tenório 29 October 2008 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2015-03-05T19:35:31Z (GMT). / This study aims to discuss how the lacanian masquerade concept is structured from Joan Riviere’s work entitled “Femininity as masquerade”, of 1929. To think women as contributaries of an absence considered not anatomically determined anymore, but culturally constructed, allows it to be reflected about the building of a femininity from the slopes of art and revolution. We purpose a reflection concerning the changes caused by contemporaneity which have influenced the buildings of the feminine identity. In order to do so, exemplifications of the implications of the contemporary in the social bonds were made, taken from the speeches of women who were part of a therapeutical group. Aiming for, in this study above all things, to comprehend the concept that refers to the femininity, from theorizations made by Freud and Lacan in order to connect it to what is vehicled in the contemporary feminine speech.

Farias, Ana Maria Amorim de 30 November 2005 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-28T20:39:41Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Ana Maria Amorim de Farias.pdf: 631376 bytes, checksum: 8e00692a001c07dae7c50327fe28b472 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2005-11-30 / The aim of this work is to reflect how female repression and negativization occur in our culture and in psychoanalysis. To reach this goal, I used the historical knowledge about the cult of the Great Goddess, all the cults related to sacred prostitution, the change of the vision of the magic world when human being lived nature as a continuum of himself. There was still no separation between sacred and profane, the passage to the subjugation of the goddess by gods and heroes until the conception of the individual and the consolidation of the Jewess-Christian monotheism. Within the psychoanalysis scope we will go through femininity and feminine concepts, according to Freud s reading, a lacanian theory about the other jouissance and Winnicott s formulation of the feminine element. Feminine, in this work, refers to the human dimension present in both men and women, but since inside and out of the psychoanalysis scope supperposition of woman and femininity to feminine has occurred, I will try to elucidate the fact. The way to deal with feminine and masculine dimension made in each historical moment, crosses and is crossed by the search of the meaning in the fundamental questions of the human condition: birth and maintenance of life, death, sex, the difference represented by the other and the transcendence search. I looked for the comprehension of the feminine with the objective of determining the importance of revalorization of life in communion and new ways of thinking and living the theory and the clinic, the human relationship and self dimension / O objetivo desta dissertação é refletir sobre o processo de recalque e a negativação do feminino na nossa cultura e na psicanálise.

Da mãe a mulher : os circuitos do amor, desejo e gozo\" / On the woman and the mother : the circuits of love, desire and joy.

Glaucineia Gomes de Lima 23 June 2006 (has links)
What does a woman want? This question has remained enigmatic in Freud´s work. Some psychoanalysts indicated maternity as one of the answers for the unsoundable question of being... a woman. The privileged discussion topic of this study is the articulation between femininity and maternity, in an investigation path of Freudian texts, of post-Freudian theories and Lacanian formulations. It consists of a clinical-theoretical study, motivated by questions originated in the psychoanalytical experience with female subjects, in face of the impasses of being a mother and a woman. Freud understood maternity as being submissive to the phallic function of a girl, but kept in open the question related to the enigma of femininity. The indictment of phallus remained with the post-Freudians who emphasized the role of the mother, from the discourse on maternal love. Lacan, when postulating on something else more than a father, promoted women´s sexuality, emphasizing the woman´s wish in the mother. To point out the disjunction between the woman and the mother, this study proposes an analysis of histery in the novel Memoirs of Two Young Wives (Honoré de Balzac, 1955) and of paranóia, from Émile (Rousseau, 1762) and also in Aimée´s case (Jacques Lacan, 1932). All in all, it stresses the division between the mother and the woman, articulating them to the slopes of desire and joy, totally related to female subjects.

As mulheres e seus nomes: Lacan e o feminino / The women and their names: Lacan and the feminine

Fuentes, Maria Josefina Sota 04 May 2009 (has links)
Unlike the feminism abstracting the feminine into a historical discursive construction and currently demanding to deconstruct the dualism of sexual differences considered mandatory and restrictive, in this research we intend to demonstrate that, if The woman does not exist, according to the thesis of Jaques Lacan, the feminine insists not as category that would finally give consistency to the woman as gender, but as a real that affects the talking being and requires solutions of nomination according the foreclosure of The women significant in the unconscious. In the first part, entitled \"The women and the feminine in the culture\", we explored the various female names that designated the women throughout western history ranging from the terror on women, through different forms of defamation, until its worship by the beauty bias or by the effect that its appointment can cause. The names of the feminine that Freud sought on psychoanalytic experience and in the contribution brought by women analysts at the time are also evaluated, as well as the theory of Lacan on women and the feminine condition. In the second part, entitled \"Women analysis\", we investigated the solutions and deadlocks heading the female from the analysis of four women: Anna O., the young homosexual, Helene Deutsch and Marguerite Duras through its character Lol V. Stein, praised by Lacan to have elucidated a practice of convergent letter with the use of the unconscious, theme of our research.

Silveira, Drielly Teixeira Lopes. January 2018 (has links)
(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The transsexual experience is a highlighted theme in the current academic context, being portrayed as a complex phenomenon, which presupposes an incompatibility between gender and biological sex. By questioning the binary sex/gender model, it is allowed to question the scientific speeches wrapped in body naturalization presumptions. Disability, out of rehabilitative model, would represent, per se, a transgressions of the "anatomic order", even if recognized by the biomedical model as the result of a flaw, either congenital or acquired, that will affect the "normal" functioning of the body or of some of its parts. The perception of both bodies acquire new outlining when facing the reading of Judith Butler, for whom the place of pathologization and abjection conferred to these experiences are the result of speech practices that establish power relations that act upon the bodies. Reflecting upon the multiple possibilities of experiences, understood on the basis of feminine, and considering the subordinate position conferred to these bodies in the face of the hegemonic rules, this work aims to create a space of narrative and analysis for an experience that has been little explored academically: the subjective experience of disabled trans women. Focusing, specially, on the disability studies and its possible interlocutions with the Queer theory as theoretical basis, interviews with three disabled trans women were made, being them: two physically disabled women and a sensorial disa...

January 2015 (has links)
Abstract: Belly dancing is among the primitive sacred dances in a mythical-religious context of acient Middle East civilizations. Arising from rituals geared to female divinities, this dance symbolizes life, fertility and growth. We investigated how the dance, as a cultural production, acts as a nonverbal communication element in several dimensions related to the practitioners. This study may contribute to broaden the comprehension of the growing expansion of festivals, demand for lessons and media materials of the area, considering the lack of quantitative studies on the subject. The aim of this study was to investigate how dancing interferes and transforms quantitatively and qualitatively the image that wome have of themselves and of their relationships. The study sample consisted of 100 female participants, practicing belly dance for at least one year, from 5 different dance schools in two distinct cities the countryside of Sâo Paulo State, whose ages varied between 20 and 65 years. Data were collected through two intruments: the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) and a questionnaire with open and closed questions, with quantitative scales. Analyzing closed questions of intensity and frequency, the items "femininity" and "joy of dancing" were the ones with the highest average and the lowest standard deviation among the answers. The lowest average, however, was the feeling of "eroticism of dancing", contradicting social beliefs. As for correlations made between self-steem and other variables, we obtained significant results in: how often dance alone, improve physical posture and changes in interpersonal relationships. When a woman dances, she learns how to deal with her body, which changes every day. With discipline and self-observation of her mistakes and difficulties, the woman becomes more confident by getting to know herself more; learns how to deal with her a body and her emotions. Gozo místico: testemunho do feminino / Mystic enjoyment: femininé testimony

Cristiane de Almeida Souza 05 November 2008 (has links)
Supported by Freuds and Lacans theories and some of their commentators, the present research aims at working on the psychoanalytical considerations on the feminine and its relation to the mystic jouissance (enjoyment). Lacan, in The Seminar, Book XX: Encore (1972-1973), stated that the mystic experience stands for the truth as regards the feminine. By doing so, he showed us a way to be paved so as to get as near as possible to what is considered to be ineffable. We intend to support our points by presenting the theories on the feminine according to psychoanalysis. By doing so, we not only discard the idea related to the biological sex but we also state that the feminine is an affirmative subjective position which can be visited by both men and women and that is why we turn to the experience of San Francisco de Assis, a great mystic man. We not only work on the concept of jouissance extracted from Freudians notion of death drive but we also work on the concepts which deal with the feminine jouissance once Lacan related it to the one mystic people experience. It is important to differ the mystic jouissance from the psychotic mystic delirium and to do so we must highlight some specific points which will enable us to distinguish one position from the other. We finally intend to clear up some of the mistaken ideas with regard to the mystic people once most of such ideas lead to the prejudiced notion that the mystic person is mentally sick. Once San Fancisco de Assis biography is very rich, we also mean to bring up the notion regarding the oceanic feeling and the one related to the awakening, as we intend to point out that the truth that supports and guides a mystic persons life is something that is placed far beyond .
