<p>This thesis has been performed as a part of the Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering and Management at the School of Engineering in Jönköping. The thesis is written on behalf of Pallco AB, which is an engineering company that performs subcontracting, surface treatment, and assembly of components, mainly in steel and aluminium. The thesis focuses on identifying and analyzing the customer order fulfillment process of three customers at Pallco AB.</p><p>The main objective of the thesis is to distinguish time differences in the company’s administrative work for each of the three customers. Furthermore, Lean thinking is following as a thread through the whole thesis. A comprehensive survey has been made to gain a greater understanding of the company’s processes and order flow. A deeper analysis of the administrative processes has then been made by value stream mapping and analysis, which shows how Lean can be applied through administration. Suggestions of key performance indicators linked to Lean are associated with the order flow. The information of the thesis has been gained through interviews with relevant personnel at Pallco AB.</p><p>The current situation for Pallco AB is that they carry out an unspecified amount of work and service for different customers without taking extra cost. The analysis and the result of the thesis show that there is one specific customer who is often given priority. Special and urgent orders are accepted, and often given priority over others. The result shows that about 45 percent of the identified administrative time of the customer order fulfillment process is applied on this priority customer. Characteristic examples of the other customers are that duplication of work is performed by Pallco AB in terms of reporting information to the customer’s own business information sys- tem.</p><p>Improvement and suggestions for further work of the customer order fulfillment process are given as a result of the thesis. The main suggestions are to further identify the extra service for the priority customer, and to further work with Lean administration through value stream mapping and key performance indicators linked to Lean.</p> / <p>Examensarbetet har utförts som en del av högskoleingenjörsutbildningen Industriell organisation och ekonomi, logistik och ledning, vid Tekniska Högskolan i Jönköping. Rapporten är skriven på uppdrag av Pallco AB. Företaget är ett verkstadsföretag som utför legotillverkning, ytbehandling och montering av komponenter, främst i stål och aluminium. Examensarbetet har sitt fokus på att kartlägga och analysera Pallco AB:s kundorderuppfyllelseprocess för tre stora kundgrupper.</p><p>Att urskilja tidsskillnader i företagets administrativa arbete för respektive kundgrupp och vad dessa beror på är det huvudsakliga målet med arbetet. Dessutom följer lean-tänket med som en röd tråd genom hela examensarbetet. Större förståelse för företagets processer gällande ordergången har fåtts genom att en övergripande kartläggning har gjorts. Därefter har en djupare analys av de administrativa processerna genomförts med hjälp av värdeflödeskartläggning och analys, vilket visar på hur lean i administrationen kan tillämpas. Även förslag på lean-nyckeltal kopplat till orderflödet har givits. Examensarbetets information har främst erhållits genom intervjuer med berörd personal på Pallco AB.</p><p>I dagsläget lägger Pallco AB ner varierande mängd arbete och service på olika kunder utan att ta något extra betalt för det. Examensarbetets analys och resultat visar att det specifikt är en kund som prioriteras, mycket genom att special- och akutorder accepteras samt att kundens order ofta ges förtur. Resultatet visar att omkring 45% av den kartlagda administrativa tiden i kundorderuppfyllelseprocessen läggs på denna kund. För andra kunder är utmärkande drag exempelvis att dubbelarbete utförs av Pallco AB i form av rapportering av information i kundens affärssystem.</p><p>I resultatet ges dessutom förbättringsförslag samt förslag på fortsatt arbete för kundorderuppfyllelseprocessen. De främsta förslagen handlar om att vidare kartlägga den prioriterade kundens extra service samt att arbeta vidare med lean administration genom fortsatt arbete med värdeflödeskartläggning och lean-nyckeltal.</p>

1 ABSTRACT MEDIATION AS A MEAN OF INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL DISPUTE RESOLUTION This dissertation deals with the phenomenon of discrepancies between commonly shared perceptions about international mediation and its real and practical situation. The aim of this disertation is not to analyze the legal provisions on mediation in individual national jurisdictions or to analyze individual provisions of the private international law, which potentially apply to issues of cross-border mediation. The intention is to point to current trends and current issues in the field of international mediation. We especially want to conduct generally accepted theoretical concepts of mediation in an international context critical view by comparing it to empirical dates proving the actual state of mediation as a method of resolving international business disputes. The first part of this disertation summarizes the basic theoretical background related to mediation, which serves as a basis for the construction of generally recognized premises in this field. These premises relate to the context of international commerce. The role of the preceptor in selected clinical nursing practice settings in Botswana

A non-experimental, explorative, descriptive, quantitative study was undertaken. The purpose was to explore and describe the views of preceptors and preceptees regarding the fulfillment of the role of the preceptor in selected clinical nursing practice settings in the Botswana context. The study included 72 preceptors and 200 nursing students/preceptees who voluntarily agreed to participate in the study. A questionnaire was used to collect data. Data was analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings of this study indicated that there were numerous constraints that interfered with the preceptor role in accompaniment of the preceptee. These constraints included the lack of desirable characteristics and time to plan learning opportunities, inadequate use of teaching strategies and inadequate knowledge on preceptee evaluation. Recommendations were stated for improvements in the future role of the preceptor in clinical practice settings Limitations of this study were also highlighted. / Health Studies / M.A.(Health studies)

The text will be noted from the Masoretic Text and the Septuagint, when compared with the Greek text of Matthew. Therefore, the first century Jewish context will be studied to understand more fully the environment in wich the evangelist was possible to write his gospel. The techniques of interpretation considered in parallel with the typology of greatest importance to this work are: three rabbinical techniques, that is, pesher, midrah haggadah and gezerah shavah, and three other techniques eminently Christian interpretation, that is, double-fulfillment, sensus plenior, typology. Finally, the comparative study of first century Judaism and interpretation techniques will result the choice of typological interpretation, but without a radical rupture with the other schools, but on the contrary, conflicting with some notes of the Dead Sea Scrolls and his apocalypticism. The typological interpretation will deal with the similarities between the Old and the New Testament texts, for a more comprehensive understanding of the scenario. Will be considered three common themes of the two texts that establish a relation between them, that is, the geography, the Gentiles and the interpretation of light / Esta dissertação tem por foco apresentar o método hermenêutico tipológico como ferramenta proposta para compreender a leitura realizada pelo evangelho de Mateus 4.15-16 da profecia de Isaías 8.23 9.1 [TM]. O texto receberá atenção a partir do Texto Massorético e da Septuaginta, sempre em comparação com o texto grego de Mateus. Por conseguinte, o contexto judaico do primeiro século será estudado para compreender mais amplamente o ambiente em que o evangelista possivelmente se encontrava para escrever o seu evangelho. As técnicas de interpretação contempladas em paralelo com a tipologia, consideradas de maior importância para este trabalho são: três técnicas rabínicas, isto é, pesher, midrah e gezerah shavah, e outras três técnicas de interpretação eminentemente cristãs, isto é, duplo-cumprimento, o sensus plenior e a tipologia. Por fim, o estudo comparativo do judaísmo do primeiro século e das técnicas de interpretação resultará na escolha da interpretação tipológica, mas sem um radical rompimento com as demais escolas, pelo contrário, conflitando com alguns apontamentos dos Rolos do Mar Morto e seu apocalipticismo. A interpretação tipológica se ocupará com as semelhanças entre o texto veterotestamentário e o neotestamentário, bem como semelhanças que poderiam compor um cenário mais abrangente. Investiga-se aqui a formação de um autêntico pensamento contemporâneo na América, tendo como eixo o conjunto da obra político-historiográfica e filosófica desenvolvida pelos marxistas Caio Prado Júnior e José Carlos Mariátegui, a partir das primeiras décadas do século XX. Apresenta-se inicialmente um panorama histórico de sua formação intelectual e militância, para então se explanar os traços característicos de suas originais interpretações relativas à questão nacional. Em seguida, verifica-se as convergências e dissonâncias entre as concepções de ambos sobre a história e a política, bem como acerca da filosofia da práxis ressaltando as importantes contribuições dos pensadores à metodologia dialética e à própria ontologia totalizante do marxismo. Para tanto, examina-se vários de seus trabalhos (em distintos campos do saber), expondo-se suas principais proposições científicas e polêmicas intelectuais-revolucionárias, com o intuito de mostrar como suas criativas análises histórico-dialéticas com que confrontam o eurocentrismo cultural e epistêmico então hegemônico alicerçam seus posteriores aportes também no âmbito universal da filosofia começada por Marx, cujo princípio central é a práxis. Colocando-se do ponto de vista da totalidade, tal postura existencial, teórica e prática, entende a objetividade e a subjetividade como inerentes aspectos fundamentais no processo de emancipação humana e construção de uma nova sociedade em que o Homem possa se realizar em sua plenitude. Propõe-se por fim reflexão sobre a atualidade e urgência da realização da teoria marxista, em um contexto de crise civilizacional (econômica, cultural e mesmo ambiental) que se renova e agrava. / This thesis investigates the formation of an authentic contemporary way of thinking in America, axised at the whole of political-historiographical and philosophical work developed by Marxists Caio Prado Júnior and José Carlos Mariátegui, as from the first decades of the twentieth century. It initially presents a historical overview of the authors\' intellectual formation and militancy and then explains the characteristic features of their original interpretations related to the national issue. Furthermore, it analyzes the convergences and dissonances between the conceptions of both authors on history and politics, as well as on philosophy of praxis highlighting the important contributions of them to Marxism\'s dialectic methodology and totalizing ontology itself. In order to do so, the thesis examines several of their works (in different fields of knowledge), disclosing their main scientific propositions and intellectual-revolutionary controversies, in order to expose how their historical and dialectical creative interpretations whose which they confront the cultural and epistemic Eurocentrism, hegemonic at the time underpin their posterior contributions also at the universal ambit of philosophy begun by Marx, whose central principle is the praxis. Placing ourselves from the point of view of the totality, such existential posture, theoretical and practical, assumes objectivity and subjectivity as inherent fundamental aspects of the process of human emancipation and construction of a new society in which Man can be realized to its fullness. It is finally proposed a reflection on the actuality and urgent realization of Marxist theory in the context of civilizational crisis (economic, cultural and even environmental) that renews and aggravates itself.

Entrepreneurs Driven by the Need for Self-Fulfillment : An exploration of the origin of such a need and how entrepreneurs work towards fulfilling it

This paper is a Master Thesis studying the human need for Self-Fulfillment, presented as the equivalent of Self-Actualization, in the context of entrepreneurship. The problems identified in the field are the lack of literature on Self-Actualization in entrepreneurship although it is something observed in the world, the lack of empirical data in the field of motivation, and finally the fact Self-Actualization is a need leading an individual to contribute to his or her surrounding (unlike other needs), which makes understanding its consequences and origin all the more important. Two aspects were chosen to cover the topic: tracing the origin of the need and understanding how entrepreneurs fulfill it (for those using their compa-ny for that purpose). To do so, interviews consisting of 4 themes were carried out with 12 individuals having started and running their company (both genders, various cultural backgrounds, with companies of various size, age and industry), and driven by the need to Self-Fulfill. The main findings are the fact the individual’s mindset and attitudes seem to be what enables him or her to reach Self-Actualization, and these human qualities and characteristic could be gathered under the terms “Personal Development”. Also some people felt the need to Self-Actualize before starting the venture and thus have an idea of how to contribute: the company be-comes only a step in the process. Others reached the need after starting the company and see it as a set of opportunities to Self-Actualize. In both case however, a holistic view over the firm seems to be the only way to truly actualize through it: every aspect of the business needs to be focused on helping and improvement (not just the business idea). Finally, by expanding the findings made in entrepreneurship, this paper suggests that in general, Personal Development may  lead to society’s improvement and provides some suggestions to continue the study.

A Cultural Analysis of Employees' Work Values and Their Consequences for Work-Related Outcomes: The Case of China

To create and maintain a fully engaged workforce, establishing person-organization (P-O) fit among employees has continued to be a central focus of organizational research. In addition, with growing numbers of older workers approaching retirement age, younger workers will soon become the dominant segment of the future workforce. Given this unfolding population trend, it has become increasingly necessary for organizations to gain a clearer understanding of the work values of the growing young population of workers and how P-O fit based on those work values may be linked to desirable work-related attitudes and behaviors. The overarching aim of this dissertation is two-fold: (1) investigate the generational differences and similarities in work values among younger Chinese workers; (2) uncover the underlying mechanisms by which the linkages between the work-value-based person-organization fit and employee work outcomes may be influenced by the impact of leader-member exchange (LMX) and perceived organizational support (POS). In this study, I used a research design that blended interviews and two survey-based studies to address four main research questions. More specifically, I conducted a pilot test to refine the work-value scale in China, and to pretest the established and validated measures for the key variables. In the second study, I gathered survey data from a sample of 179 employees from three Chinese small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The research findings showed no significant differences in employee work values between the two younger generations (i.e., the Social-Reform Generation and the Millennials Generation). Regarding the hypothesized conceptual scheme that links P-O fit and work outcomes, the results supported most of my hypotheses. Specifically, P-O fit is a significant predictor of three important work outcomes; it is positively related to job satisfaction and organizational commitment, while negatively related to turnover intention after controlling for demographic characteristics. The three hypothesized mediating mechanisms involving POS also received empirical support. That is, as predicted, POS mediates the effect of P-O fit on job satisfaction, organizational support, and turnover intention. Finally, when LMX was incorporated into the conceptual model and statistical analyses, the findings revealed that there was overall moderated mediation for the connections between P-O fit, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment, but no moderated mediation for the connection between P-O fit and turnover intention.

Studien syftade till att öka kunskapen om äldres syn på psykisk ohälsa utifrån frågeställningen: Hur upplever äldre psykisk ohälsa? Åtta semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes (åldrar mellan 66–84, M=75,25) och analyserades utifrån tematisk analys. Fyra teman identifierades: Det är inte lätt att vara gammal, Ett harmoniskt åldrande, Det finns ju roligare saker att prata om och Man får nog bra vård om man väl kommer till. Resultaten visade att utanförskap till följd av ålder upplevdes påverka den psykiska hälsan negativt och att sociala sammanhang och en meningsfull tillvaro verkar hälsofrämjande. Vidare beskrevs en dubbelhet i attityder där en mer accepterande inställning till psykisk ohälsa utvecklats i samhället men att det fortfarande är skamfyllt för individen. Avslutningsvis beskrevs en kluvenhet till vård för psykisk ohälsa då den upplevs relevant men otillgänglig. Studien påvisar behovet av att tillgängliggöra resurser för äldres psykiska ohälsa samt att ta äldres föreställningar i beaktning i vårdprocessen. / The aim of the current study was to promote knowledge surrounding elders’ views on mental health, by employing the research question: How do elders perceive mental health? Eight semi-structured interviews were conducted (ages 66-84, M=75.25) and analyzed using thematic analysis. Four themes were identified: Hardships of being old, Harmonious aging, There are more amusing subjects and There’s good care once you get there. Results indicated an experience of age-related exclusion having negative effects on mental health, while social inclusion and a fulfilling everyday life promoted good health. Furthermore, split attitudes were expressed regarding mental health issues, where society has become increasingly accepting but the individual still may find it shameful. Finally, an ambivalence toward mental health care was discerned where it was perceived as necessary but inaccessible. The study highlights the need to allocate resources to mental health care for elders and to consider their perspectives in the caring process.
