Interactions didactiques dans la classe de mathématiques en environnement numérique : construction et mise à l'épreuve d'un cadre d'analyse exploitant la notion d'incident / Didactical interactions in mathematics classroom in a digital environment : construction and test of an analysis framework exploiting the notion of incident

Aldon, Gilles 06 December 2011 (has links)
This work of mathematics education based on the framework of the theory of didactic situations, focuses on the joint action of teachers and students in a digital environment. We give an important place to the theoretical framework of documentary genesis, which complements and extends the scope of the instrumental genesis and considers artifacts as well as elements of the digital library system for teachers and students. In the general context of the use of technology in the regular classroom of mathematics, we seek to understand how the incidents are indicative of perturbations that change the dynamic of the class. In developing this notion of didactical incident, we build a framework to highlight the phenomena of documentational genesis of teachers and students and to monitor the short or long term eects on mathematics teaching and learning. We show that the didactical incidents, under certain conditions, oer opportunities for restructuring local and global knowledge for the teacher as part of his teaching or the student's learning of mathematics

The machines used in the fields were originally designed in Australia and were transferred to Brazil in the 70 s. Since its original conception, the design has suffered several modifications and improvements. In ergonomics, it is known that the appropriation of artifacts leads to a process of construction and reconstruction of uses and devices, so that the design continues in usage. With this regard, the present study aimed to analyze the process of design in use of sugarcane harvester machines and to contribute to the understanding of how users design. Considering that the machine was originated in Australia, the study also aimed to conduct a comparative study between the two situations, based on the principles of antropotechnology. Furthermore, given the historical participation of users in design process of sugarcane harvesters, the study also aimed to verify whether this participation still exists now that the design is controlled by multi-national equipment manufacturers. For this purpose, three case study were conducted in Brazil and two in Australia, according to the principles of Ergonomic Work Analysis. The obtained results describe the studied situations, the activity and operation, the modifications in machine s design performed by the harvesting teams, the elaboration process and the need for design improvements. The modifications in machines design were divided into three categories: structural, functional and operational. Structural modifications aimed to adapt the technology to Brazilian conditions: the soil characteristics and the duration of the harvesting season in the country. Functional modifications aimed to solve design problems not anticipated by designers during design process. Operational modifications represented the contribution of users and their activity to the design. In Brazil, several modifications were found and they were elaborated through the articulation of competences of two actors: harvester operator and harvester mechanic. Besides the differences in the amount of modifications, other differences between the two countries were the work organization and the harvesting strategies. It can be concluded that: 1) design in use is essential to adapt a technology to local conditions of usage; 2) the genesis of instrumental genesis is in the junction of operators activity and of mechanics inventory to practice bricolage as a way of designing, as well as the existence of social spaces of interaction between these subjects; 3) users participation, which has always been essential to the design of sugarcane harvester machines, is still crucial and can be reached through a dialogical approach of design.

A model dedicated to the design and analysis of digital resources aimed at their appropriation by students

Pérez Rosillo, Taïma Del Carmen 20 June 2017 (has links)
Within the Tactiléo project, we consider that the appropriation of a digital resource can be evaluated knowing that "design" and "use" are iterative processes. We propose a model of design and analysis of the uses of numerical resources based on three theoretical axes: The Theory of Didactic Situations (Brousseau, 1998) The Theory of Instrumental Genesis (Rabardel, 1995) and Theory of Activity, 1978, Vygotsky, 1978, Amigues, 2013). We constructed a methodology to evaluate the appropriation of digital resources interrogating us: how can the appropriation of a digital resource be evaluated during it is use? How can the results of the evaluation of the appropriation of a digital resource contribute to re-engineering it? And how to design and use a model of design and analysis of digital resources based on appropriation? We conducted an exploratory study for the analysis of a simulation in physics class at the college; The analysis of the answers to a questionnaire by five teams of designers to identify the tasks that can be prescribed from the use of the technical features of the tablet; An exploratory study of the use of a deck of cards as a tool to support the design of learning situations instrumented by the tablet; A priori analysis of the game Put yourself at the table! Duo d'artefacts numérique et matériel pour l'apprentissage de la géométrie au cycle 3 / Duo of digital and material artefacts dedicated to the learning of geometry at primary school

Voltolini, Anne 30 August 2017 (has links)
Our research project in didactics of mathematics is to study the use of digital technologies as a complementary environment to concrete manipulations. We define a duo of artefacts as the fruitful link between a digital artefact and a material one in such a way that this linking is an added value for the learning process. The instrumental approach of Rabardel allows us to establish the requirements for this link, each artefact enriching the other through the constructed instruments. A duo of artefacts sets off associated instrumental geneses. In order to base the conditions of the learning process, in the sense of Brousseau, a duo exists only when it is mobilized in a didactic situation. Our issue is to develop a duo of artifacts including the pair of compasses for the conceptualization of the triangle in the teaching of its geometric construction. The composition of the duo and its orchestration in a didactic situation are intended to bring out a new instrumental genesis of the compasses and, according to Duval's work, a 1D dimensional deconstruction of the triangle. Experiments in classes have enabled us to validate the hypothesis that the situation and the duo cause the development of a new pair of compasses instrument to rotate a segment. Balacheff's model of conceptions also allowed us to identify the evolution of pupils' conceptions of the triangle and the circle as the situation progressed, specifically the improvement of a 1D vision of the triangle as a closed broken line and a characterization of the circle as the trajectory of one end of a pivoted segment.

Is the mathematics education like an open book? : A qualitative case study that focuses on how upper secondary school teachers relate to the textbook in their teaching

Hovstam, Amanda January 2019 (has links)
The textbooks are an important foundation in the education of mathematics. The aim of this study is to examine how teachers in the upper secondary school actually use the textbook and to study when the textbook is absence in their teaching. The study aims to investigate, from a teacher’s perspective, when the textbook is being used and what content in the textbook that the teacher uses. The absence of the textbook implicates when and how the teachers deviate from the content and how the content is presented in the textbook. An example of absence of the textbook is when the teacher adapts the explanations of a mathematical content to an everyday language or to an informal way, which the textbook does not. The study is a qualitative case study and the results are founded in interviews with two informants and by an observation of their practice as teachers in mathematics. The teacher’s textbook and document that are used as planning materials are also reviewed and presented. The result of the study is analyzed by some theoretical concepts, where the theory of orchestration and the relation between the teacher and the textbook are of importance in this study. The analysis of the study implicates that the textbook in mathematics is visible in every moment that were investigated. This means that the textbook is visible in the planning of the course and lessons, in the instructions on the whiteboard lead by the teacher and when the pupils independently use the textbook. The analysis also showed that the use of the textbook was not always presented in a chronological order and that the teachers helped the pupils to organize the tasks in the textbook.

Salazar, Jesus Victoria Flores 29 June 2009 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-27T16:58:55Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Jesus Victoria Flores Salazar.pdf: 3824721 bytes, checksum: 90508afa3a224018db018f851b864a0e (MD5) Previous issue date: 2009-06-29 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This thesis has the purpose of observing how students from the 2nd year of High School make use of geometric transformations of space when interacting with the environment of Dynamic Geometry Cabri 3D, as well as what kind of reasoning they use when developing activities concerning this content. Thereby, this work intends to answer the following questions: How do students make use of the tools and/or resources of Cabri 3D in order to learn the geometric transformations of space? How does the integration of Cabri 3D interfere in the process of learning these geometric transformations? The methodology adopted used aspects of Didactics Engineering, according to Artigue (1988). The theoretical foundation was the Instrumental Approach of Rabardel (1995) to enable the understanding of how students interact with Cabri 3D and which contents they make use of during the development of a sequence of activities. In addition, the theory of Register of Semiotics Representation of Duval (1995) was used, specifically the apprehensions of a figure. The analyses of the activities which involve notions of geometrical transformation of space helped us realize other possibilities that the instruments can give the subjects as well as different ways of organizing the actions. Moreover, the activities made the development of different strategies easier for students who used the Cabri 3D and students established relationships between the software and mathematical knowledge. We verified the occurrence of Instrumental Genesis, because the students actions showed pre-established schemes or the development of new schemes. At the same time, the use of Cabri 3D helped the perceptive apprehension of the figures and allowed to become dynamic.

Processus d'innovation dans l'entrepreneuriat : la place des artefacts dans l'activité en équipe-projet / Innovation process in entrepreneurship : the place of artifacts in the project-team activity

Poidi, Kanina Irène 08 February 2019 (has links)
This thesis defends a model of entrepreneurship as a dynamic, global and systemic process, mediated by technologies. We present entrepreneurship as an activity in context, embodied in a culture, a story, an environment, and which develops itself through interactions. The moments of cooperation and coordination in localized teams, or multi-localized teams (Vacherand-Revel, 2017) constitute spaces of intersubjectivity (Zarifian 1996) in which different artefacts are used. We hypothesize that these artifacts in the activity will actively participate in the development of innovative entrepreneurial activity by providing support for team training, idea development, and design. Based on a qualitative and developmental methodological protocol, the analysis highlights several factors and resources of the activity, in particular the entrepreneurial training device, and the artefacts mobilized by the actors. These artifacts in the activity (Adé, 2000) are transformed into artifacts of the activity during instrumental genesis processes (Rabardel, 1995). They can then take a status of intermediate objects (Vinck, 1999, 2009) or boundary objects (Star, 2010, Vinck, 2009) within the activity. The analysis shows the predominant role of the innovation object, which is a common production of the team. It is both an outcome and a starting point for the development of intentions and the trajectory of the project. The innovation object arises from a process of design and creation (Almudever, 2012). This research shows the interdependence of the situations of cooperation and collective design in the formalization of the innovation object. The nature of the entrepreneurial project – an object built and under construction - highlights the interest of a dialogue between Activity theory and Action theories.

Mbodje, Awa 26 July 2023 (has links)
-- Over the past few decades, the immigration of children of African origin to Ontario has increased. The Franco-Ontarian school system supposed to welcome them, in addition to recommending problem solving as a means of learning mathematics from the very first learning, is largely focused on the integration of new information and communication technologies (ICT). However, the use of ICT in the education sector of most sub-Saharan African countries from which these students come from is not very developed. This study explores the experience of elementary school's students of sub-Saharan African origin who are recent immigrants to Ontario (ASSI students) in a situation of mathematical problem solving (PR) integrating technology. It provides a better understanding of the role played by the dynamic geometry software (DGS) in such a learning device. The chosen methodological approach is that of qualitative/interpretative research conducted in the form of a multiple case study. Two dyads of ASSI students (four students) were observed in a PR situation using DGS and then were met. For our analyses, we resorted to the triangulation of the theories of our theoretical framework: the socioconstructivist approach of Vygotsky, the instrumental theory of Trouche and the mathematical problem-solving model of Pólya. The cross-referencing of the observation data of the instrumentalization and instrumentation processes and the problem-solving processes has made it possible to identify certain elements of the answer to our research question. The results reveal, on the one hand, that the DGS occupies a preponderant place in the construction of knowledge among ASSI students and the development of their problem-solving skills, on the other hand, that the students' words about the learning are certainly nuanced, but mostly positive. This research contributes to promoting the inclusion in primary mathematics classes of the sub-Saharan African minority in a French-speaking minority context in Ontario.
