201	Trade in Mesopotamia from the early dynastic period to the early Achaemenid period with emphasis on the finance of such trade Hay, Francis Anthony Mirko 01 1900 (has links) This dissertation considered trade and trade finance in Mesopotamia over a period of 2000 years commencing with Sumeria and ending with Achaemenid Persia, taking in Ur III and Assyria. A range of financial instruments was selected together with important business transactions, for instance, agricultural finance, specifically the brewing industry and the working capital requirements of merchants and money lenders. The role of women in private enterprise was examined, including their role in retail finance. The great estates of temple and palace had a substantial impact on finance and trade throughout the periods. Their interaction with merchants and money lenders was important to the study. I used reductionism to facilitate analysis of complex products highlighting the essentials of finance namely, borrowing, lending and return. 203	信用及利率衍生性商品之評價與分析--以信用連結票券及利率交換為例林淳瑜 Unknown Date (has links) 近年來由於金融自由化的發展，台灣已陸續開放新金融商品，除了股權相關的新金融商品之外，也陸續開放利率相關的新金融商品，如新台幣利率交換、新台幣利率選擇權、債券遠期交易、債券選擇權等。在信用衍生性商品市場方面，我國銀行從2002年底開放承做信用衍生性商品，目前正準備開放證券商承做。隨著金融國際化及自由化，未來將會從國外引進更新穎的金融商品，使金融市場更為完備。本文以Hull – White利率模型及LIBOR市場模型為架構，藉由數值方法評價分析兩個衍生性商品──信用連結票券及利率交換。首先在信用連結票券方面，運用Li（1998）建立信用價差曲線（Credit Curve），將之應用至Hull – White三元樹，評價信用連結票券之價值，並作敏感度分析與避險參數分析。其次在利率交換方面，由於投資人端連結「雪球型」的支付型態，為路徑相依商品，故使用LIBOR市場模型以蒙地卡羅模擬法（Monte Carlo）進行評價與分析，再進行發行者損益兩平分析及情境分析。最後針對兩個商品的評價結果作結論，分析發行者及投資人的利潤及避險，並給予後續研究者模型改進之建議與方向。衍生性商品信用連結票券信用價差曲線 HW模型利率交換雪球型 LIBOR市場模型 Structure Note CLN Credit Curve Hull – White Model IRS Snowball LIBOR Market Model
204	Sebrané spisy Jana Patočky jako ediční problém. / Collected Works of Jan Patočka as an Editorial Problem Petruželková, Adéla January 2016 (has links) The dissertation thesis Collected Works of Jan Patočka as an Editorial Problem deals with both the samizdat and the printed versions of the collected works of Czech philosopher Jan Patočka (1907 - 1977) and other domestic as well as foreign editions of his work. The Archival Collection of Jan Patočka's Work emerged as the side product, to some extent uncoordinated and intuitive, of the sorting of the author's legacy in the years 1977 - 1989. Nevertheless, the 27 volumes of this unpublished edition represent a fully-fledged attempt to organize a critical edition of Patočka's collected works. At the end of the 1980's, an exile edition was intended, as the outcome of the cooperation of domestic, exiled and foreign community of researchers. The post-revolution Collected Works of Jan Patočka have been published since 1996 and, contrary to the previous series, represent a re-arranged and amended edition. The paper follows the process of scientific reflection, which has accompanied the edition of Patočka's works (both edition series were assembled by the same editorial team of Patočka's disciples.) 205	The effect of teaching second language students a combination of metacognitive and cognitive strategies for reading and listening comprehension Kaplan-Dolgoy, Gayle 01 1900 (has links) Students who study through the medium of a second language often have reading/listening comprehension and general study problems. This study focuses on particular aspects of these problems only, namely, identification of main ideas, summarisation and note-taking. The aim of this study was w determine the effect of teaching L2 students a combination of metacognitive and cognitive strategies for reading and listening comprehension (the main idea, summarising and note-taking by means of dictation). An intervention programme was designed in order to teach students these skills. There were ten students in both the experimental and the control groups. Both groups were assessed before and after the intervention programme. The findings reveal that the intervention was successful, with the experimental group showing greater improvement than the control group. De tels actes sont courants ; leurs applications sont variées. Le cautionnement, l’acceptation d’une lettre de change, la promesse d’exécuter une obligation naturelle, l’engagement du délégué envers le délégataire, le constitut, la garantie autonome, la souscription d’un billet à ordre, etc., sont des promesses de payer. Plus précisément, ces actes sont des applications diverses d’une même figure juridique : la promesse de payer. Cette dernière, déshabillée des particularités propres à chacune de ses applications spéciales, se présente comme une figure juridique unitaire, pourvue d’une nature et de caractères permanents. Ayant pour objet un paiement, elle suppose toujours l’existence d’une dette à acquitter. Cette dette, ou « obligation principale », constitue sa cause objective. Contrairement à une simple reconnaissance de dette, la promesse ne se borne pas à déclarer l’existence de celle-ci. En tant qu’engagement d’exécution, elle donne naissance à une nouvelle obligation, l’ « obligation de règlement », venant s’adjoindre à la première en vue de son paiement. Such acts are as common as they are various. For instance, bond, acceptance of a bill of exchange, promise to perform a natural obligation, commitment of the delegate to the delegatee, autonomous guarantee, subscription of a promissory note, etc. are promises to pay. In fact, such acts are different applications of a single legal figure : the promise to pay. Apart from the specificities of each of its applications, the promise to pay reveals itself as a uniform legal act with a permanent nature. Because its subject consists in a payment, the promise to pay always presupposes the existence of a debt. Such debt, or “primary obligation”, is the “objective cause” of the promise. Unlike a simple “IOU”, a promise to pay is not limited to declare the existence of the primary obligation. As a commitment, it also produces a new obligation, the “obligation to pay”, which coexists with the primary obligation. The obligation to pay, as such, is ancillary to the primary obligation. 209	Jazz music: the technological mediation of an aural tradition Jarvis, Brent 28 September 2021 (has links) Jazz music is transmitted by aural and oral means. As recording and broadcast mediums became increasingly ubiquitous, starting in the mid twentieth-century, an ever greater proportion of jazz’s aural transmission would be mediated by these developing technologies. Many commentators address sound’s mediation from one state to another by identifying the resulting recording as an object. This object transcends temporal and spacial proximity, possessing inherent authority with implications for authorship, related work-concepts, and even issues of cultural assimilation. From a perspective informed by writings in musicology, philosophy, and sound studies, I examine recorded jazz music from the twentieth-century. I begin by positioning the history of jazz music in relation to the emergence of recording technologies to establish recordings as authoritative texts. I then translate (by transcription) primarily non-literate jazz recordings into the primarily literate discourse of musicology. In the course of examining music by James Moody, Eddie Jefferson, Bud Powell, Chick Corea, and others, I conclude that they all exemplify musical intertextuality. In some cases, technological mediation connects the texts. I then turn to an examination of recordings specifically. I begin by questioning musical notation as an adequate description of sound and move to developing a broader analytical framework. This thesis culminates with a comparison of Bud Powell’s 1949 recording of Bouncin’ With Bud and Chick Corea’s 1997 recording.
