O gênero e a ciência da saúde: produção em torno da transexualidade no Portal de pesquisa da Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde / Gender and \"science\" in health: scientific production over transsexuality on Virtual Health Library Search Portal (VHL)

Carvalho, Diego Sousa de 03 November 2014 (has links)
This work has been written over bibliographic revision over Virtual Health Library Search Portal (VHL) database, trough specifical book markings on transsexuality research. Scientific production will be critically discussed in order to explore which ways health institution in a theorical corpus reflects its practices, under which perspectives it has been thinking e describing the transsexuality phenomenon, if in the field of illness and the interventions over it, or seeing possibilities in human care field, articulating arguments of a social standpoint. Considering that the genealogy of transsexuality is directly linked to a clinical institution, its institution as a nosological category reflects directly on the implementation of new subjective aspects in the field of gender, and constantly it requires thinking about how are the strategies of analysis on this theme, and if, as a clinical category, sensitive mechanisms of comprehension have been thought for beyond the pathological bias.

Sujeitos, histórias e rótulos : a leitura e a escrita de crianças e jovens diagnosticados com dislexia / Subject, stories and labels : reading and writing of children and young people diagnosed with dyslexia

Muller, Laura, 1984- 23 August 2018 (has links)
Orientadores: Maria Irma Hadler Coudry, Sonia Maria Sellin Bordin / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Instituto de Estudos da Linguagem / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-23T03:03:35Z (GMT). Nesse processo, a aprendizagem da leitura e da escrita desconstrói e desqualifica o diagnóstico que vai perdendo força e sentido na história do sujeito / Abstract: This research aims to analyze the acquisition and the use of reading and writing in five children and young people who received the diagnosis of Dyslexia and who were longitudinally followed in the Centro de Convência de Linguagens (CCazinho) at the Institute of Language Studies (IEL), at Unicamp. From the encounter between the researcher and the research subjects, the critical diagnosis is traced and guided by the theoretical and methodological perspective of Discursive Neurolinguistics (ND). Firstly, one argues about the erroneous conception of reading and writing as code, which appears in the definition, evaluation and treatment of dyslexia. At the same time, through the analysis of data regarding the reading and writing of the subjects followed, one seeks to deconstruct what was seen as a symptom of dyslexia to investigate the hypothesis that these children and young people build in the process of acquisition and use of reading and writing. Then, the review focuses on the function and the reach that the diagnosis has socially. For this, one uses the interpretation of diagnostic such as devices (Agamben, 2010) which capture the subject, guide and determine the speeches and way of acting of the school, the family and the subject themselves. Strategically, the diagnosis of Dyslexia displaces the social issues to the bodies of the subjects and disclaims society by the increasing failure in teaching reading and writing which we live today. The mode of operation of this device is discussed by the analysis of the subjects and their families' speeches about the diagnosis and by the analysis of the diagnostic reports, the school data and the treatments that some of the subjects were submitted to. Finally, one seeks to give visibility to the diagnoses hidden problems, investigating the non-pathological difficulties that these subjects have. For this, one discusses how these subjects are failing in school, sometimes because they face difficulties in understanding the little explicit game of that institution, either because the family has been unable, for various reasons, to help the subjects, or because the school, the reading and the writing do not make sense to them. In contrast, one analyzes the longitudinal follow of one of the research subjects, discussing how the practices with/about language in CCazinho - that take into account the individual, his history, his interests and build an active speaker for his reading and writing - opens a possibility of changes in the process of acquisition and use of reading and writing of the child. In this process, the learning of reading and writing deconstructs and disqualifies the diagnosis that ends losing strength and direction in the history of the subject / Mestrado / Linguistica / Mestra em Linguística

Getting by Gatekeepers: Transmen's Dialectical Negotiations within Psychomedical Institutions

Waszkiewicz, Elroi 04 December 2006 (has links)
Transsexuality remains grounded in pathologizing discourses. Mental health professionals largely classify transgender experiences as disorders, and transgender people seeking to alter their bodies typically must obtain authenticating letters from therapists verifying such diagnoses. Physicians usually require these letters to perform transition-related services, and sometimes require additional legitimization. In these ways, psychomedical professionals impose gatekeeping measures that withhold and confer services to transsexuals who desire medical transition. Using qualitative interview data and grounded theory methods with 20 female-to-male transsexuals, this study demonstrates that transmen typically represent informed consumers whom carefully research psychomedical protocol and anticipate providers’ adherence to professional standards. When they encounter gatekeeping, this preparedness informs their dialectical struggles within the psychomedical institutions wherein transmen must negotiate bodies within the confines of pathology. Ultimately, this dialectical process is managed and maintained by the larger regime of truth—the gender binary system.

Gramkow, Gabriela 01 February 2012 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-29T13:30:55Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Gabriela Gramkow.pdf: 4675678 bytes, checksum: 85a1f0d55aa3c1a1cea150cf8064f930 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-02-01 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / This study clarifies and reorganizes the story of the Experimental Health Unit at São Paulo (UES), a public facility that assists offending young people diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). All the process with reference to the UES between 2002 and 2011 was investigated, since the project to its institutionalization. More specifically, we analyzed the relation among psycho and legal forces that undertake battles in a field of struggle. For this purpose, we use documentary research, mainly the legal processes of the young admitted to the UES and administrative process, constituted by the judiciary. This administrative process monitors and encourages the creation of some treatment for young infractors with mental health demands, arising in the configuration of this experimental unit. The analysis, guided by Foucault and Castel´s works, sought to identify the possibility of producing ASPD and UES. Psycho and justice utterances were systematized by a strategy for compulsory admission a CONTINUUM ADMISSION supported by the argument of dangerousness and social defense. The psycho-legal tactics of the protective measure of psycho treatment under restraint and civil interdiction combined with compulsory psychiatric hospitalization controls the admission circuit on behalf of social protection and guaranteeing the right to health. In questioning the materialization of the UES with the detention of offending young and trial psi-law continuum, we put focus in the analysis of the psycho-legal tactics for the regulation of juvenile crime by the biopolitics and its social control strategies through the pathological path. In this analysis, we understand the control that UES operates, showing two lines of argument: the line of social danger and the line of investiment in treatment. The network of knowledge-power in the political management of juvenile crime in Brazil is updated, set up a legal-political paradigm as a solution to an apparent new demand. From the assessment of human profiles, the control strategy of the deviant operates a risk management policy of the not teachable as the prevention of recurrence of the dangerous individual. In risk management, crime is a risk not eradicable. The UES highlights power relations that dialogue with the design field as a political model, forged in the logic of exception. Understanding the ASPD as incurable and untreatable , the management of juvenile crime isolates the perilous individual through modern and efficient technologies by the argument of the social order. The way UES deals with the ASPD is linked to the model of exile for purification of the socius.
