Costa, Diogo Faria Corrêa da January 2011 (has links)
This dissertation intends to contribute to the current challenges faced by the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform movement of the possibilities of social participation and exercise of self-governing of users of mental health. Although we have advanced the field of social rights, ensuring the opening of services and changing the design of treatment of madness, there remains the specter of the user / alienated user, reduced to passivity and inertia in their treatment. From this and the context of mental health conference, held during the year 2010, the objective was to map the micropolitical participation process associated with production of leadership in mental health. For this, the reference of Institutional Analysis and Research-Intervention served as a methodological support, drawing on participant observation, field diary, questionnaire of Critical Incident and conducting semi-structured interviews as research tools. The field research took advantage of spaces for participation established by insertion of the researcher in two conferences on mental health, through the Association of Users, Families and mental health militants and the meetings of the Assemblies of users in a Psychosocial Attention Center in Alegrete, western border of Rio Grande do Sul. As a result, we identified that required institutionalization of participatory spaces in mental health can result in a risk of chronicity of those spaces, reducing their potential to merely instituting bureaucratization. However, when these spaces are constituted as a ground for the installation process of being unique, collectively built, so if you could see the possibility of exercise of self-governing by users. Such leadership understood as a subjective process, tailored micropolitically from the relationship and organization of a collective users. Thus, research on the role as a bet subjectifying effect, resulting from this collective space for participation, capable of empowering users to the effective exercise of autonomy and citizenship.

The approach is supported by the works of Le Goff, Maurice Halbwachs and Michel Pollak, expanding to gender studies. The starting point is the assumption that the protagonist becomes subject of her own story through her family memories. Our conclusion is that Maria Moura, valorizing her family memories empowers herself, understands her family history and becomes able to be herself, that is, she represents one among the multiplicity of her family memories.

O diário de leitura : um aliado para leituras literárias / The daily reading : an ally for literary readings

Nascimento, Dorinaldo dos Santos 27 July 2015 (has links)
Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Face the deficit manifestations in literary reading associated with the narrowing and "erase" the place of the literary text in elementary school. Developed an action research through didactic sequence, favoring the use of daily reading as a tool with potential for intervention and data collection. The pilot application was with 9th grade students in a school of public municipal system (Banzaê-BA). Therefore, objective with this report to present and analyze the read daily paper in the literary text apprehension process (recording and sharing). It emphasizes that the practice diarist, adopted here, only materializes fully in their socialization, whose reading circle is an effective community of readers (the class). For the purpose of teaching literature, must not be confused with the daily reading the diary - Private genre in which the holder, individual space, records intimate revelations and personal feelings. Daily reading is part of the educational sphere. It is a public genre with diary elements. We can define it then as a text written in the first person singular, from pre-established by the teacher instructions. In it, the reader, as we read, reflectively dialogues with the text read, can evoke his repertoire readings and experiences. Primarily, the survey drew on theoretical assumptions Machado (1998), Buzzo (2010), Lejeune (2008) Cosson (2014b), Fish (1992), Compagnon (1999) Rouxel (2013) and Langlade (2013) . We analyzed four inputs of the students, after reading two short stories "The Head", Luiz Vilela (2006) and "To win the game," Rubem Fonseca (2002). These, according reread instrumentation for reinterpretation via crossing with other languages (music and film), presentation of data / images of the authors and contact with literary criticism. The productions of the students had as an analytical criterion the four items of pre-established teaching guidance for the preparation of records (first and third records), as well as criteria related to reinterpretation (second and fourth records). The results showed a more protagonist student-reader who is responsible for the construction of meanings of the texts read. They pointed out, along with the formal data and literary text content, the subjective intervention of readers linked to construction and / or identity-building (s). The students records also showed gaps, problems whose teaching intervention is imperative by proposing solutions and / or reflections on the understanding of the listed phenomena. Finally, we inferred that there was in the process of reading the students a combination of personal and social levels.

Omphile Umphi Modise : diteng le dimelo tsa baanelwabagolo (Setswana)

Moepi, Gaamele Francina 07 July 2011 (has links)
This study examines D.P.S Monyaise’s short story titled Omphile Umphi Modise which were scrutinized by Mogapi (1992), Pretorius (1990), Manyaka (1992), Shole (1997) and Malimabe (1998). Their investigation did not only focus on the content of the short story, but also concentrated on the structure and style of the author. When scrutinizing Omphile Umphi Modise, the focus mainly falls on content and characterization of the characters. This research is based on an adopted narratological model, which is used by Groenewald (1993) and Mojalefa (1994).. When investigating the content, emphasis is put on the topic as a theme and part of the plot, which is imperative in the analysis of Omphile Umphi Modise. Two terms which are to define and describe are used to explain and unravel ideas that were used by the writer to simplify the problems a reader would encounter in this investigation. When analyzing the content as theory, the following four elements are noticed: characters, events, time and place. Another important aspect on the level of content is the division of the characters into two subgroups, namely quarrelsome and kindhearted.. In Omphile Umphi Modise, the kindhearted is Motlalepule, while the quarrelsome is rraModise who blatantly refuses to see Motlalepule’s good side. These two characters are described by the following: intention, patronage abilities, success and resistance. The investigation explains that the theme, which is ‘keeping a secret can lead to one’s doom’, is the one that connects the events and the plot, with the intention of highlighting the message to attract the reader. Design is one of the most important aspects of the plot. It is herewithin divided into two sections which highlight the characterization of the protagonist and antagonist as well as the revelation of the aspect of tragedy in Omphile Umphi Modise. The characters are divided into two sections, namely main and minor characters. The main characters are the protagonist, the antagonist and the tritagonist. The antagonist in Omphile Umphi Modise is rraModise/Mosimane yo o tedu tsebeng/ tedu tsa katse who is portrayed to be evil because he mandated Thandi, a minor character, to put drugs in the tea Motlalepule was about to drink, and sadly ended up drinking it herself. After she was drugged, mosimane yo tedu tsebeng/tedu tsa katse raped and impregnated her. The writer uses techniques to explain the personality traits of the characters. He employs a distinguishing technique to highlight personality traits of Motlalepule which are beauty, misfortune, suffering, and poverty. These are explained by the following techniques: focus, differentiation, conflict, use of the possessive, use of the adjective form, point of view, use of diminutive form, exaggeration, use of the pronoun, use of idioms, proverbs and, similes and omission. Differentiation is employed to highlight leadership as a personality trait of the antagonist, mosimane yo o tedu tsebeng/ tedu tsa katse/rraModise is which is explained by two techniques: indicative mood and point of view. / Dissertation (MA)--University of Pretoria, 2011. / African Languages / unrestricted

A critical analysis of the characters of Isabel and Madame Merle and their conflict in Henry James's The Portrait of a Lady

Alderson, Thomas Raymond 01 January 1964 (has links) (PDF)
The opening scene of The Portrait of a Lady takes place upon the broad, sunlit lawns of Gardencourt. Yet, even in this expansive setting, the most essential character in the novel, the protagonist, is, curiously, no more than a narrow, shadowy speculation symbolized by a few odd words found in a telegram of dubious value. The only worth of these words comes in the amount of curiosity they can arouse in the other characters and in the reader. For it appears that, with this slow but significantly unusual means of introducing Isabel, the author intends her for more than a mere foil in a worldly triangle. Henry James does not squander his characters and while the plot of this novel, for example, suggests a debt to the traditional sentimental novel, the characters transcend such a strict formula and take on great depth and mass. Thus, as the reader progresses through the tale, he is continually surprised, and gratified, to discover that the characters emerge as real personalities, each possessing, his own set of ideas, sensibilities, an visions. When these personalities are brought together there can be no chance for a sentimental novel.
