Therefore, methodologically, to undertake a bibliographical study based on the work of Freud and Lacan, in the first teaching, in their productions concerning religion, constitution of Ego, neurosis and psychosis, beyond a discussion of two Freudian cases: Schreber and the Rats Man. So, take place joints between religion and father complex in psychoanalysis, addressing the elements present in the traumatic origin of monotheistic religions and the way they are updated in the subject, and set up approaches between religious formations, production delusional and fantasy. Makes up a theoretical framework on the mode ego structure, on the neuroses and psychoses, in stressing the concept of narcissism to establish the imaginary and symbolic dimensions that participate in this process as well as for the subsequent theoretical modifications. Finally, it is an investigation regarding the way in which the Ego is constituted in neuroses and psychoses, mechanisms peculiar to each of these structures and the presence of religious speech as well as of divine figures, by analysis of clinical cases. Among the main findings of the research highlight: a) intelligibility in Freudian formulations about religion, placing it sometimes beside the neuroses, sometimes beside the psychoses, giving her a double logic; b) the peculiarities in the constitution of the Ego, this is, fixing the paranoid in the mirror stage and the crossing of the obsessive at Oedipus, as well as their distinct attitudes towards Other and conflicts of these psychic structures instances, result a way in which the experiences of religion and deities appear in symptoms and elementary formations; c) the structural belief notion in neurosis and the dimension of certainty in psychosis allow in the perception of differences in the way these individuals understand the divine figures, which appear consistently associated with paternal figure in psychoanalytic theorizing.

Dias, Paulo Henrique Curi 10 August 2015 (has links)
Focusing on the discussion between Freud and French author Romain Rolland regarding the oceanic feeling (based on their letters exchange from 1927 to 1931), we will question the comprehension of the ontological nature of the feeling of union with the universe (as described by Rolland) through a twofold bias: either as a by-product of psychological dynamics (inherently pathological or not) or as an ontological experience of alterity, better comprehended through a non-psychological approach that investigates its inner meaning regarding the human condition as such. In the latter perspective, we will be accompanied by the work of Brazilian author Gilberto Safra, whose clinical writings are concerned with an anthropological conception that approaches the human being in its own complexity, avoiding possible psychological reductionism of themes and issues that relate to other areas of experience, such as religiosity and spirituality. As the main axis of this discussion, we will utilize the life of Indian mystic Ramakrishna Paramahansa (1836-1886) to illustrate these two different ways of approaching spiritual experience. Ramakrishna has been himself one of the main sources of Rollands constructions on religiosity, leading the French author to write one of his main biographies (The life of Ramakrishna, 1929), which had an important impact on Western reception of Eastern spiritual conceptions. Contemplating examples from Ramakrishnas life through a phenomenological-hermeneutical reading of Rollands work (that range from his childhood to his period as a famous spiritual master in India), we will present, in each situation, different perspectives from authors that either consider Ramakrishna exclusively on a psychological-psychopathological note or through a perception of a spiritual dimension non-reducible to psychical dynamics inherent to his life and teachings. Within this framework, we have come to realize that there are inherent limitations on a solely psychological reading of mystical experience, as well as a limitation on an exclusively spiritual approach. Therefore, by presenting such discussion we intend to rethink the position mysticism and spirituality occupy in clinical practice, both to reformulate their understanding in psychotherapy and as a way of enlarging the anthropological conceptions inherent to clinical understanding of the human condition

Modelagem topológica da possessão: sujeito e alteridade na umbanda / Topological modeling of possession: subject and alterity in Umbanda

This work aims to assay applications of topological structures psychoanalytically interpreted to the study possession trance in Umbanda, which is comprehended as a kind of enunciation irreducible to strictly verbal. The subject (enunciative instance) and the Other (in this case, materialized in the spirits world) are considered as different functions that alter themselves in a moebian (one-sided) surface. The Lacanian psychoanalysis method is used in social contexts after reconceptualizing the ethnographic method, now denominated participant listening. The researcher participated and interacted in Umbanda temples in the capacity of consultant. Based on the general theorem of surfaces that, through homeomorphic transformations equals three projective planes into a projective plan plus a torus, two analytical versions were developed from the mapping of the significant chain webbed in the transferencial relationship. One relies on the interior eight cut and the other one on the hole (structural to the surfaces composition). In a point of view, the possession can be understood as derived from the unconscious logic (fantasy) that relates the operations of the subjects production (alienation and separation) with the cut operation that modifies the structure, presenting the divided subject but not in two pieces. From another point of view, the possession can be thought as an enunciative form that describes a fantasy, which is not restricted to the hearing strict sense, but includes the gaze and the kinesthetic associated with the movement. After this modeling, social research and analytical listening are amplified to space-time enunciation processes released from consciousness, from individual psychism and from the subordination of an interiority psychic conception. They are also disentailed from the social and the history comprehended as exterior to the subject.

Karin Hellen Kepler Wondracek 10 March 2010 (has links)
This thesis investigates Michel Henrys contribution to the psychotherapeutic clinical practice. His very original phenomenology of Life deepens questions raised in the dialogue between Freund and Pfister. Part 1: Life, Work and Thinking of Michel Henry. His criticism of the directions of Western thought points to effects of Galilean reductionism on ontological monism, which only considers true what can be represented or seen. This is insufficient to the understanding of the human condition; Henry proposes the dualism of appearance and the inversion of the phenomenological method in order to encompass the phenomenalization of the life that donates itself as affection in immanence. Henrys most important contribution is his pioneering phenomenological investigation of the self-affectional condition of affection. Part II: Henry's journey through Christianity as a phenomenological proposal of access to the truth of Life: Christianity bestows a paradigm to Philosophy, which is still little explored, proposing the understanding of life in the intelligibility of the invisible Logos that generates everything visible. The Human condition is that of Son, born in the absolute Life; his life donated as a Self given in radical passivity. Through the phenomenology of incarnation the notion of pathos is deepened, with consequences for the issues of suffering and anguish. The Human condition is paradoxical in this articulation between visible and invisible truth. Part III: The Henryan reading of Psychoanalysis: Psychoanalysis shelters life amidst the barrenness of Western thought, but is also affected by it, even in its fundamental concepts, especially its approach to affection. As a counterpoint to genealogy as described by Henry, the Jewish rooting of Psychoanalysis is highlighted, which allows him to maintain the paradigm of non-representability and of errancy. With Julia Kristeva we point to the proximity with the affirmations of the Phenomenology of Christianity. In the end, we return to the clinical setting and to the contributions of Phenomenology of Life to the praxis, in the paradigm of the double appearance.

This work is presented as a point of reflection on the interface between psychoanalysis and religion, based on the dialogue between Sigmund Freud and the psychoanalyst pastor Oskar Pfister. There shall be analyzed the concepts of science and religion referred by both authors in their argumentation in the respective works The future of an illusion and The illusion of a future. This research aims to understand the way those theorists think of culture and its role in the relationship which man establishes with religion. Regarding the concept of illusion, we shall seek to understand its role towards belief, while regarding the concept of sublimation, the cultural processes towards the formation of the religious phenomenon, as well as the transformation of the sexual drive into superior values. As a final contribution to this dialogue, Carlos Dominguez Morano and Antoine Vergote shall reappropriate the Freudian concepts of illusion and sublimation, respectively, pointing to their relevant implications to the relationship between man and the religious experience.

Josenildo José da Silva 01 March 2017 (has links)
The human being remains as the differentiated species among such a vast nature. Its distinction comes from its ability to abstract itself from the immediate data, to reflect about it and give it meanings. This position, however, does not place him in a privileged place of centrality, or even of primacy over other beings with whom he coexists. It imposes, on the contrary, a responsibility of care over the whole cosmos. Therefore, he is always searching for meanings to what is around him. Among the countless paths that men have gone through during this search for meaning of the world, nowadays there is an element that is getting more and more present and active on the daily lives of people: the religious spiritual dimension. In addition to all the prophecies of its gradual but inexorable overcoming/elimination from human history, and also contradicting the many affirmations made about it by the various processes of secularization, it finds itself in our midst with nuances sometimes more intense and, at other times, less significant. However, it is always present. Our work is presented as a proposal of psychoanalytic re-reading, based on the concept of sublimation, of the religious phenomenon, which occupied very significant place in the theoretical construction of Sigmund S. Freud, revealing itself as a reality that was truly disturbing to him, which is demonstrated by the number of appearances since his first psychoanalytic constructs until the eve of his death. Even declaring himself a "convicted atheist," Freud has always sought a more accurate understanding of the religious phenomenon and its implications in the lives of human subjects. Is it possible for Religion to constitute the contemporary human being as a sublimatory way, among so many others, to assist it in the construction of its subjectivity? The present study was carried out through a bibliographical research of Sigmund Freud's main texts referring to sublimation and religious phenomena, as well as studies carried out by important current psychoanalysts and some sociologists of religion. Our research aimed to reach a greater understanding of the concept of sublimation in Freudian metapsychology in view of its application in re-reading religious experience in Sigmund Freud's writings, thus overcoming impasses between the areas of Psychoanalysis and Religion and, at the same time, Spaces of dialogue and mutual enrichment between the mentioned fields of knowledge of the human subject.

Gestaltterapia e experiência religiosa: relação e cura

Otaviano Bezerra Santana Filho 11 June 2014 (has links)
