The "self promotion", a path for architectural"

Ruiz, Eric 03 November 2014 (has links)
Further to the production of housing within a traditional Framework are curently developed all over europe and specialy in France. Moving away from public or private standar models, the projects inspired by the end users tend to produce very original habitats, in terms of architecture and environment as well as social and territorial insertion. This kind of dynamic is not a new phenomenom. Particulary in Latin America, popular and cooperative movements have developed this type of approach for decades. Insufficiently studied, this phenomenom merits more precise analysis, particulary in the field of architecture and from the point of view of the managers of such projects : the inhabitants. This research aims to demonstrate, through an analysis of different types of collective organizations adopted by these non-professional inhabitants leadership, the benefits and results of their production, in terms of: the "spacial" question, which looks at the concept of habitat and its use ; the issue of "skill" of the designer, who questions the mode of production of the project through the architect relationship - project management (non-occupational) ; and finally the area of "spatial and social inclusion", which looks at the urban dimension of these projects and their "property developers". Based on the concepts of "right to do" and "right to the city" defined by Henri Lefebvre and "common good" defined by Elinor Ostrom, this thesis provides a contribution of knowledge to contribute to the response of professionals and public policy, to a real social demand present every day in terms of citizen initiatives in the production of housing.

Alves, Lidiane Aparecida 27 June 2011 (has links)
Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de Minas Gerais / The objective of this paper consists on comprehending social and spacial processes concerning Uberlandia's Downtown Suburban Area (Zona Periférica do Centro - ZPC), from the analysis of use and accupancy of the land. To reach this purpose, bibliographic sources about the subject have been consulted, from the classic approaches until the most recent ones. Local newspaper and information from surveying and camp observation has been used as well. As methodological orientation, the base was the studies form Murphy and Vance Jr (1967[1954]), adapted to Uberlandia's specificities. This paper is structured in five chapters. The first is aimed to provide a theoretical and conceptual base to the present subject. The second chapter discusses questions referred to middle cities, specially its urbanistic instruments and urban organization in Uberlandia. The third chapter is reserved to contextualization of the object of this research alongside the development of the city. The fourth chapter is focused on presenting the methodology used in the research and survey. The fifth chapter brings the analysis of the (re)configuration and dynamics of the central area, attention given to the ZPC. With the present paper, it's noticeacle that, due to Uberlandia's characteristics as a middle city, relatively new and in progressive development, its central area, despite a certain "decadence" from the descentralization started on 1980's, remains important to the city, as a whole, as well as this area presents "subespaços", easily found in the reality of the large cities, although with forms, purposes and processes very specific to its realities. Its ZPC is descontinuous, with very particular dynamism, due to the presence of determined typology of commerce and service activities that assure its importance to the combination of the city and region, as well as, its interrelation to the central core. Such as it is, the dynamics of this area is to be reinforced by the emergency of new values and principles that lead to actions of requalification of the central area.

Analysis of the spatio-temporal dynamics of agricultural crops Brazil: a methodological approach.

Angel Filiberto Mansilla Baca 11 October 2011 (has links)
At present, Brazil presents itself as a major agricultural producer for food and bio-energy purposes in the entire world. Year-to-year, production records are hit by the agricultural sector. On the other hand, there is a perspective for severe problems in food and energy supply in the world, especially in Africa, where many people live in poverty and hunger. In this context, this masters dissertation presents a proposal for the analysis of the spatio-temporal dynamics of the agricultural production using the concepts and tools of Geomatics in pursuit of sustainable development. It was developed a methodology for the generation of agricultural production indicators at different levels of Brazilian territorial structure which allows the synthetic presentation, through cartograms and digital animations, of the spatial and spatio-temporal dynamics of the main crops. For this, a database of the production of main crops was created, indicators that represent the spatial dynamics of agricultural production and presentation tools for these indicators through the space-temporal dynamics were developed. Finally, the areas with focus in the food production and agricultural expansion for bio-energy (ethanol and palm oil) production were related. It is intended, through this work, to contribute to the decision making with visualization tools of the reality of Brazilian agriculture. Links were developed with agro-ecological zoning, with the instruments of food security and with the ecological footprint, with the presentation of the agricultural production of crops such as sugar cane, corn, soybeans, palm oil and cotton.

Kohlmann, Andrya Campos January 2016 (has links)
This work aims to analyze the spatial quality in two museums, Fundação Iberê Camargo in Porto Alegre and Guggenheim Museum in New York. Fundação Iberê Camargo was chosen due to the critical acclaim it has received and its prominence in the architectural panorama of Porto Alegre, city where the work was developed. Similarly, the Guggenheim museum was selected because it is an iconic building, enshrined in global architectural imagination. The two buildings were chosen also, and mainly, due to their similarities in terms of architectural concept and form, program, size and scale. Analyzes will be carried out in the light of spatial quality, a concept that is defined through the relationship of space and body, and the way the first receive, or not, the second. This work is, therefore, a work based on practical/empirical approach, which seek to evaluate the performance of these buildings from the application of “the observer method”. In order to achieve this, evaluation parameters such as legibility and functionality, will be used in various situations along the analytical paths performed in both buildings.

For this it was used the Space Data Exploratory Analysis (AEDE), the space econometrical modeling and as source of data the National Research of Sample of Domiciles (PNAD). It was used convergence tests β absolute, conditional convergence β and convergence σ. To the conditions of the conditional convergence β process were used the variables: schooling average, experience (to catch the human capital effect) of each segment of workers and tractor power (to catch the fixture capital effect). The AEDE disclosed the wages distribution of the permanent and temporary workers to the Brazilian states. The states that better remunerate their permanent workers were placed in Center West region, South region and the state of São Paulo, the worse incomes were in the Northeast region. For the temporary workers the best wages were situated in the regions North and Center West, and the lowest incomes in the Northeast region. It was evidenced positive special autocorrelacion of the farming workers wages demonstrating that the space localization of these wages interfere in its values. The High-High clusters formations type for the farming workers (permanent and temporary) were placed in the North, Center West and South regions. Low-Low clusters formations type concentrate in states of the Northeast region of Brazil. In the bivaried space autocorrelação the farming workers wages follow the same behavior. The relation between wage and schooling have positive association, when the wages relate with experience they showed negative and when wages were compared to fixture capital the space association was positive. For the wage distribution of the wages growth tax of these workers, we notice that states with lower wages have higher growth taxes (Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Distrito Federal, Piauí and Paraíba) of those states that had higher wages than in parts had its growth taxes lower (Roraima, Amapá), showing evidences of the convergence existence. Applying the space imbalance model it was proved the absolute convergence existence, indicating that the permanent and temporary workers wages go through a common stationary state between the Brazilian states. In the conditional convergence we notice that the convergence speed is increased for the temporary permanent workers. The only significant variable was the farming worker schooling (permanent and temporary) disclosing that the wage inaqualities between the states tend to diminish. The significant space effect indicates the existence of two distinct works markets in the Brazilian farming. The fixed effect coefficient is significant and positive and shows the work market particularitity of each Brazilian state. The convergence σ of the temporary and permanent workers wages of the Brazilian farming shows the reduction of the wage inaquality by the fall in the dispersion of wage levels. However we suggest a reflection about the politics adopted in the farming, that could stimulate the inaquality wage reduction by politics that stimulate the instruction and qualification of this worker, and to be developed with locacional character, so that the Northeast region could increase its wage levels.

Las ciudades imaginarias de Mario Levrero / Des cartographies impossibles; Les villes imaginaires de Mario Levrero / Impossible cartographies; The imaginary cities of Mario Levrero

Martín Santamaría, Enrique 10 October 2019 (has links)
Projected cities in literature have been proven to be ideal spaces to understand the tensions of our time. By representing the social contradictions produced by the economy, the unequal access to power or the coexistence between different cultural groups, they allow us to reflect on the complex characteristics of a world in permanent transformation. The main objective of this thesis is to analyze the literary cities of Mario Levrero as narrative devices with which to observe the coming to an end of certain political, social and cultural projects of the twentieth century in the face the emergence of a model that tends towards the dissolution of the regional in the global. This work is based on a theoretical assumption that can be summarized as follows: the greater the complexity of our political and economic system, the greater the difficulty in imagining and representing the reality we are a part of. This is particularly clear in the urban representations of Levrero, which symbolize the sense of disorientation that distinguishes the postmodern subject before the failure of every attempt to map any aspect of contemporary reality. This allows us to analyze the political significance of these representations: they entail, on the one hand, a diagnosis of hopelessness for the present and, on the other, an outlook of failure for the future. The cities of Levrero function as backgrounds for the collapse of a known world and the emergence of a brand new one with characters that lack any tools for its interpretation.

City decision-making : optimization of the location and design of urban green spaces

Leboeuf, Caroline 04 1900 (has links)
The recent promotion of sustainable urban planning combined with a growing need for public interventions to improve well-being and health in dense urban areas have led to an increased collective interest for green spaces. Parks have proven a wide range of benefits in urban areas, and we are interested in the application of theoretical concepts from the field of Operations Research to assist decision-makers to improve parks' accessibility, distribution and design. Given the context of public decision-making, we are particularly concerned with the concept of fairness, and are focused on an advanced assessment of users' behavior using a spatial interaction model (SIM) as in competitive facility locations' frameworks. In this research, we present a two-stage fair facility location and design (2SFFLD) model, which serves as a template model to assist public decision-makers at the city-level for the urban green spaces (UGSs) planning. We study the application of the 2SFFLD model to UGSs, but emphasize the potential extension to other applications to location problems concerned with fairness and equity. The first-stage of the optimization problem is about the optimal budget allocation based on a total fair-weighted budget formula. The second-stage seeks the optimal location and design of parks, and the objective consists of maximizing the total expected probability of individuals visiting parks. Given the non-linearity of the objective function, we apply a ``Method-based Linearization'' and obtain a mixed-integer linear program that can be solved with standard solvers. We further introduce a clustering method to reduce the size of the problem and determine a close to optimal solution within reasonable time constraints. The model is tested using the case study of the city of Montreal, Canada, and comparative results are discussed in detail to justify the performance of the model.

Silveira Junior, Carlos Roberto 07 June 2013 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-06-02T19:06:09Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 5554.pdf: 2294386 bytes, checksum: ce6dc6cd7128337c0533ddd23c0bc601 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2013-06-07 / The mining of sequential patterns in data from environmental sensors is a challenging task: the data may show noise and may also contain sparse patterns that are difficult to detect. The knowledge extracted from environmental sensor data can be used to determine climate change, for example. However, there is a lack of methods that can handle this type of database. In order to reduce this gap, the algorithm Incremental Miner of Stretchy Time Sequences with Post-Processing (IncMSTS-PP) was proposed. The IncMSTS-PP applies incremental extraction of sequential patterns with post-processing based on ontology for the generalization of the patterns. The post-processing makes the patterns semantically richer. Generalized patterns synthesize the information and makes it easier to be interpreted. IncMSTS-PP implements the Stretchy Time Window (STW) that allows stretchy time patterns (patterns with temporal intervals) are mined from bases that have noises. In comparison with GSP algorithm, IncMSTS-PP can return 2.3 times more patterns and patterns with 5 times more itemsets. The post-processing module is responsible for the reduction in 22.47% of the number of patterns presented to the user, but the returned patterns are semantically richer. Thus, the IncMSTS-PP showed good performance and mined relevant patterns showing, that way, that IncMSTS-PP is effective, efficient and appropriate for domain of environmental sensor data.
