Fenklová, Eva January 2011 (has links)
The master thesis focuses on further education of secondary-grammar-school geography teachers in the Karlovy Vary region. The topic has been studied in detail using a qualitative research in the form of multiple case studies of semi-structured interviews of persons relevant to further education in the studied region. The qualitative research conducted brings a wide range of data relevant to the approaches taken by management of different schools and geography teachers to further education, opportunities for further education in the Karlovy Vary region, and the subsequent transfer of its results to the geography curriculum. Based on the data collected from the persons asked, a proposal for a possible expansion of the further education of secondary-grammar-school geography teachers in the Karlovy Vary region was drafted. This proposal represents a motivation for improvement of the quality of the geography curriculum in the region.

Pozice žáků - muslimů v české základní škole / Position of muslim students in Czech elementary school

Landová, Eliška January 2020 (has links)
My thesis is focusing on Muslim pupil position in the Czech elementary school. It is an actual topic of the Czech school system together with foreign pupil education generally. Pupils are educated in the multicultural era and for this reason it is essential to deal with this topic. I am explaining the selection of the topic within the introduction of my thesis. Theoretical part is introducing topic related information, arranged logically to make a meaningful text. Within this part is described who belongs to this group, what they have in common, how they differ, how they have affected Europe and the Czech Republic from the past to the present. In addition, I am describing the outcome of Muslim integration to the society, view on their differences and of course the Czech elementary schools approach to this topic. To find out the situation of Muslim pupil within the education process in the Czech elementary school system is the objective of the empirical part of my thesis. To get the findings on the Muslim pupil in the elementary school, I have used the observation method. The case interpretation is recorded in this part. Not to focus only on the Muslim pupil, I have made structured interviews with other five home teachers in the same school.

Selection of a product component for topology optimization and additive manufacturing

Svensson, Marcus January 2021 (has links)
This is a master thesis research on how to select the right components in a product, considering reducing the weight with topology optimization (TO) and adaption for additive manufacturing (AM). It is well established that manufacturing of complex structures can be achieved with AM, the possibility of integrating assembled components and improve features will therefore be investigated. The new component structure must still withstand the loads that it is subjected to during usage, to not permanently deform or break. In this research the studied product was a handheld Husqvarna chainsaw. Initially a feasibility study was conducted, where the product was disassembled and physically investigated for potential component cases. Additional knowledge was gathered with one semi structured interview per case, with experienced design engineers. Followed by one semi structured interview with AM experts, regarding available AM technique and similar material. Selection of case to continue with was based on the interviews information and Pughs decision matrix, with weighted criterions. TO were used for finding the optimal material distribution. The new component design was analyzed with linear finite element analysis to fulfill both the component and material stress requirements. Component orientation and support structure for AM was analyzed with computer aided engineering software. This resulted with integrating thirteen components for the engines cylinder into one component. The new design resulted in a weight reduction of 31%, while utilizing only 57% of the allowed stress limit. Also, the first 23 natural frequencies were improved with a new type of cooling fin structure, with an increased area of 15%. These results encourage the thesis workflow methodology usage for other products. In conclusion the established workflow of methods resulted in selecting a suitable case for integrating components with feature improvement and adaption of the new design with TO for AM, to reduce the weight.

"Jag kan lyssna, ös på mig, jag pallar att ta emot" : Sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av omvårdnad av barn med depression inom barn- och ungdomspsykiatrisk öppenvård

Kaller, Karin Johanna January 2020 (has links)
Background: Science shows that we will see a continuing increase of children with mental health problems in the coming years. As a consequence of this nurses will be meeting a larger number of children suffering from depression. Studies regarding nurses’ experiences of caring for children suffering from depression are sparse. More knowledge is required and will be meaningful in the future care of this vulnerable patient group. Aim: To describe nurses’ experiences of caring for children with depression within child and adolescent outpatient psychiatric care.  Method: This study has a qualitative design with an inductive approach. As a data collecting method, semi- structured interviews were used which were conducted with six nurses in child and adolescent psychiatric outpatient care. The result was analyzed with qualitative content analysis. Results: The results show that; the nurse’s role is about being an intermediary, to take into account that the child always exists in a specific context, to create a relationship to the child and to manage one's own emotions. Conclusions: The nurse's role and significance would need to be made more visible as it today can be considered unclear. Specialist nurses have significant competences that is not always used in the best way to promote the child's recovery from depression.

Applicant Reactions to Structuring the Selection Interview

Lombard-Sims, Danielle 14 August 2013 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / Initial research on structuring the interview process investigated structure’s impact on the interview’s psychometric properties (e.g., reliability and validity). In contrast, the empirical literature has begun to consider the impact of increased interview structure on job applicant reactions to the interview and the companies that utilize them. Current research has studied the effects of interviewer characteristics on applicant reactions and the effects of different types of selection procedures on applicant fairness reactions. In addition, while studies have examined the impact of applicants’ perceived control on their reactions to selection procedures, few studies have examined this impact specifically for the employment interview. Given the widespread use of the interview in selection, this study adds to current research by focusing on applicant reactions to four elements of the interview identified as being salient to applicants (i.e., the degree to which the interviewee perceives that applicants are asked the same questions, the use of situational or behavioral type questions, controlling the use of ancillary information by the interviewer, and the degree to which questions from the applicant are controlled). In addition, this study focused on need for control as a moderator of the relationships between interview structure and fairness perceptions, recommendation intentions, and acceptance intentions. Participants consisted of 161 students voluntarily participating in three different interviewing scenarios: unstructured, semi-structured, and structured interviewing scenario. The participants completed post-interview measures asking them about their perceptions of fairness, their intention to recommend the company to others, and their intention of accepting an offer if one is made by the company. Although the hypothesized relationships between elements of structure and applicant evaluations of the interview were largely not supported, the results did indicate that student applicants perceived semi-structured and structured interviews to be fairer than unstructured interviews. In addition, the results suggest that more structured interviews may lead to lower behavioral intent to recommend the job to others or accept a job offer. Implications of the results are discussed in terms of how interview structure relates to the candidates’ perception of fairness, recommendation intentions, and acceptance intentions.

The role of co-operatives in North End Winnipeg's urban revitalization

Intertas, Mark Aurelio 06 January 2017 (has links)
The North End is one of the most colourful areas in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Plagued by urban decay, the North End is a melting pot of cultures and catch basin for many marginalized people. In the face of adversity, people unite under similar ideals and principles to work towards common goals. This unity is exemplified in co-operatives, which has been in the North End for decades. Co-ops exhibited outstanding camaraderie with the goal of alleviating adverse social conditions. Today, the co-op sector, exemplified by Pollock’s Hardware and Urban Eatin’ Landscapes, continue to operate in the area like conventional business, while practicing social and environmental responsibility under a common set of principles. Due to their ideologies and principles, their impact on neighbourhood and community revitalization is more profound than expected. Through case studies, this research found that co-ops offer urban planners and government officials a complimentary method to conventional urban revitalization methods. Co-operative Urban Revitalization starts by uniting marginalized people and empowering them to devise solutions to social and economic problems. / February 2017

Integrace Vietnamců v České republice / Integration of the Vietnamese in the Czech Republic

Kučera, Petr January 2014 (has links)
KUČERA, Petr. Integration of the Vietnamese in the Czech Republic. Prague, 2014. Dissertation. Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Arts, Institute of Czech Language and Theory of Communication. This thesis deals with the integration of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic which has its specifics and significantly differs from the integration of other foreigners living in the Czech Republic. The characteristics of the Vietnamese community are for example the high percentage of those who live here on the permanent residence permit, then very low unemployment and at last the majority of the community is doing their own business on the trade licence. The other important part is the issue of the acquisition of knowledge of the Czech language. The theoretical part of the thesis firstly defines the number of Vietnamese living in the Czech Republic, historical development of this community and their characteristics. Then the thesis deals with the term of integration; this term is properly defined and the particular dimensions of integration are described as well. The end of the theoretical part describes the particular types of residences, which foreigners can obtain. The empirical part of this thesis attempts to answer the question concerning the integration of Vietnamese living in the...
