Previous issue date: 2010-06-10 / This study has the objective to highlight the relevancy of regression in Winniccot clinic
for the sake of individual health on positive term. In order to reach this goal, this work
was developed on differences between the concept of regression in Winnicott clinic and
the tradicional psychoanalysis. Thus, the study of beginning of life was done where the
emphasis falls on the absolute dependence step, because, by Winnicott, this is the
category the human being returns into the regression in clinic at the moment when the
maturity development was interrupted by the environmental fail. For this reason, the
regression theory of Freud was analysed, as well as Winnicott terms to reach regression
as signal of health, highlightining differences found in treatments (psychoneurosis and
psychosis). It was shown how Winnicott treated these differences in clinic by building
his theory, highlightining also the importance that he assign to the handling in
psychoanalytic setting; and finally a synthesis of a case serviced by the author which

Previous issue date: 2010-06-25 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / Winnicott presented the concept he called The Capacity to be Alone
to the British Psychoanalytical Society in 1957. This concept represents one of the
most important signs of maturity in the human being and refers to an emotional
condition that enables one to achieve a sense of identity and uniqueness and makes
it possible to communicate with oneself and with others.
The Capacity to Be Alone has no relation with solitary confinement or
with the feeling of loneliness or anguish. On the contrary, it is an emotional state
experienced with delight and serenity and provides the sense of identity that brings
out the self-confidence needed to live life creatively.
Being alone as an infant and a small child is experienced and
achieved in the mother s presence, and this leads us to the conclusion that there is a
paradox at the basis of this capacity: someone else - usually the good enough
mother - is absolutely necessary and the quality of this presence is of extreme
importance.
If a good relationship between mother and baby is achieved, the baby
experiences an intense, vividly felt internal state that is accompanied by a nearby,
reliable other . Over time, the presence of the real mother naturally becomes less
and less necessary.
Examples from literature and from real life will be provided in order to
illustrate the requirements to achieve this capacity, and a clinical case will be studied
in depth to show the acquisition of the capacity to be alone by an adult pacient in the
presence of his analyst.
When the capacity to be alone is well-established, individuals are able to
discover their own personal lives and feel confident about both their present and their
importantes do amadurecimento do sujeito.

phonological work done with visual disabled kids. Another goal was
understanding the role professionals in this area have when working in
institutions these kids go to. For that, semi-conducted interviews were made
with speech therapists who working institutions which deal with visual disability,
multiple disabilities and deaf-blindness. By that time, those professionals were
assisting visual disabled children. In the presentation and discussion of data
provided, aspects which have been talked about in the literature concerning this
issue were highlighted. Some of them are: precocious intervention, need for
group work (professionals involved), receiving and giving orientation to families.
Having as a support Winnicott´s theory, it was relevant to highlight the
importance of a speech therapist paying special attention to specificities which
characterize those children, besides, receiving well the family, specially the
mother (or/ and the person in charge on the child). This should be done in order
to make parents closer to the child, taking into account that an interruption this
relationship may suffer might influence the kid s development. It s essential that
professionals involved make constructive experiences possible in a visual

Previous issue date: 2008-06-25 / This dissertation discusses the psychological process that brings a person during his life from the belief in (in the meaning given by Donald W. Winnicott to this term) to a true personal believing attitude along the years of formation to the priesthood in a Catholic Seminary. The dissertation sees this process in the context of a psychoterapic process under the supervision of a clinical psychologist who works together with the pedagogical staff of the seminary, but in a separated professional way.
I go out from the hypothesis that a seminarian with a deficit of symbolization (Joyce Mc Dougall) is inclined to live this process in a normotic way. This hypothesis is tested in 5 clinical concrete cases. The passage from the believe in to an attitude of personal believing will depend from the way the future priest interiorizes his priestly vocation and is more or less able to represent it.
The dissertation is divided in three main chapters. In the first chapter I present a general overview and contextualization of the history of the different pedagogical stiles adopted by the Catholic Church during the centuries, mainly from the Trient Council till our days. Special consideration is given to the changes brought by the Vatican II Council and to the cultural modern situation.
In the second chapter, I try to consider the today´s circunstances of the priestly formation from a sociological perspective, taking as reference the concept of anomia from E. Durkheim. A second and more exact look is given to the question from the psychological viewpoint. My main reference here is W. D.Winnicott, but I consider also other psychologists. Finaly, in a third chapter, I try to make a more sistematic analitical reflection about the human process of maturation of seminarians who are submitted to a formal psychotherapy. In the conclusion I try to present some psychological indications to the increasing group of clinical psychologists who are giving their cooperation to the Church in the difficult task of bringing the students to a personal interiorization of the ideal presented to them by the Church as the ideal of a priestly life / O tema abordado na presente dissertação é o do processo psicológico do transcender de um Crer em (em si mesmo), a partir das primeiras Ilusões representativas de cuidado materno, para o Crer verdadeiramente (crer em Deus), motivo e missão da vida destes seminaristas descritos nesta dissertação.

Previous issue date: 2018-09-28 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / Nowadays, the transformations resulting from globalization, from technological advances and from the new conditions of being and living have generated numerous difficulties that worsen every day, leading to a worrying increase in psychopathologies affecting adolescents worldwide. We have witnessed a significant increase in the demand for psychological care in public and private health services. Given this scenario, this work aimed to investigate, through Winnicott clinical cases and vignettes of my professional practice, the specificities, the possible dialogues with the parents and the therapeutic possibilities of the clinic with adolescents, from a Winnicottian perspective. To this end, a study was made of the emergence of the notion of adolescence, as we conceive it today and of the maturational process characteristic of this phase, from the Freudian postulates to the formulation of contemporary psychoanalysts, with special emphasis on Winnicottian theory, for contemplating these aspects more comprehensively. It was evidenced that the psychoanalytic process can offer subsidies to help adolescents in their difficulties and contribute to maturity at this stage. The professional who has the purpose of providing care for adolescents needs to prepare for this type of work. The winnicottian clinic has as main specificities the need to know the process of maturation, because the disturbances are understood as paralyzes in the course of this process; the expansion of the analytical setting, to include the family, the school, among others; the use of management; the provision of a facilitating environment for maturation; besides the care of the analyst with his own maturity. Follow-up with parents is valued and carried out wherever possible because they are understood as enabling environments for maturation for their children. The therapeutic possibilities vary according to the needs and possibilities of each case, being related to the resumption of developments that were interrupted and the propitiation of the maturation inherent to that phase. Because it is qualitative research, these data can not be generalized, however, it has been shown that the possibility of helping young people in this phase can contribute so that they can develop their true self to live creatively and feel that their life is full of meanings / Atualmente, as transformações decorrentes da globalização, do avanço tecnológico e das novas condições de ser e de viver têm gerado inúmeras dificuldades que se agravam a cada dia, levando a um aumento preocupante de psicopatologias acometendo adolescentes no mundo todo.

Disturbing the neighbours: an investigation into the relationship between psychopathology and social formationsCollins, Anthony January 1995 (has links)
This work attempts to confront certain political problems created by the individualistic bias in psychoanalytic thinking, and the resulting failure to adequately theorise the importance of social processes. The thesis traces the origins of intrapsychic thinking to Freud's initial move from the seduction theory to the Oedipal theory. This development is offered as a prototype for the debates between conceptualisations of childhood traumatisation as a social problem of actual abuse occurring within dermed power relations, and theories which locate pathology purely within internal conflicts occurring inside the individual. Several criticisms of this shift are offered, and it s impact on later theory is considered. Here a contrast is offered between the theoretical approaches of Melanie Klein and Donald Winnicott, arguing for the usefulness of Winnicott's emphasis on environmental factors within psychodynamic theory. The impact of these theoretical approaches is illustrated through a critical evaluation of Freud's case study of Judge Schreber. Additional historical material is brought in to show the importance of environmental considerations ignored by Freud, and contrasting psychodynamic readings of the case are offered. As an alternative to purely intrapsychic approaches, a reinterpretation of certain strands of Critical Theory is then presented. Adorno's theory of the Authoritarian Personality and Marcuse' s concept of One-Dimensional Man are extended using Winnicott's formulations concerning psychological development. This leads to an examination of the question of the relationship between social structure and individual consciousness. Post-structuralist accounts of language and the construction of identity are explored. These are then developed drawing on theories of ideology, language and consciousness, integrating these with Winnicott's developmental theory to offer an alternative psychodynamic understanding of the relationship between social process and psychopathology. An attempt is made to reformulate - the notions of consciousness and the unconscious in terms of the possibilities and difficulties of representation within available social symbolic codes. In conclusion the it is argued that psychology needs to integrate critical social theory and contemporary understandings of the social construction of consciousness in order to become a meaning force in positive social transformation.

During the course of training in psychology, especially in a work with the Program of Freedom Febem Assisted in the unit of Bauru, offering psychological care ready to participants, initiated the contact with the hip hop movement. In this study, we analyzed the motivation of some young people to join this movement, to perform such analysis, we used the psychoanalytic concept of identification. We want to check the meaning given by these young people to the hip hop movement, and if this can be seen as a potential space for creativity. Young people interviewed are identified with the hip hop movement, and why we are looking at their life stories the moment they began to join the hip hop movement organized in the city of Bauru. I reviewed their biographies and their perceptions about themselves and about social reality in which they live. We conducted semi-directed interviews with each couple in particular. We use the psychoanalytic method to analyze the content of the interviews, especially the theory developed by psychoanalyst Donald Winnicot.

The aim of the present work is to investigate the possibility of establishing a bond between Winnicott's theory of personal maturation and Heidegger's theory of Geschichtlichkeit (historicity). We used Kuhn's notion ofparadigm to distinguish Winnicott's psychoanalysis from traditional psychoanalysis (Freud and KIein) within the framework of historical development of psychoanalysis. What stands out is that in comparison to traditional psychoanalysis, Winnicott's psychoanalysis promotes a paradigm shift in alI elements that compose the disciplinary matrix of psychoanalytical theory. The establishment of that distinction allowed us to singIe out one ofthe components ofthat matrix for our study, i.e., the ontological component. By this choice, we intend to show, on one hand, that the ontology found in Winnicott's theory approaches a way of thinking human nature which is very dose to Heidegger's post-metaphysical conceptions so that his theory appropriation could illurninate the comprehension of the ontological elements that compose Winnicott's theory. On the other hand, that movement of approximation points towards a distancing, which shows that Winnicott's psychoanalysis contains several instigating and additional issues in relation to existential phenomenology. The investigation ofthe possible nearness and farness between those two theories leads us to question Winnicott's psychoanalysis in relation to a post-metaphysical thinking and gave way to the discussion on the possibilities of creating a science of mano / Doutorado / Doutor em Filosofia

Um estudo psicanalítico sobre a maternidade na adolescência: histórias de abandono, violência e esperança na trajetória de três jovens mães / A psychoanalytic study on teenage motherhood: stories of abandonment, violence and hope in the path of three young mothersKate Delfini Santos 15 April 2011 (has links)
The mother-son relationship is one of the founding elements of the human psyche and it is through this that the child perceives the world around him/her. There are many variables that affect this relationship, for example, personal experience, the inter-and transgenerational legacy and the historical, social, and economic conditions. Given the fragility of the affective bonds today and the difficulty in establishing links that give the feeling of trust, security and stability, this study aims to determine how three young mothers, who experienced several types of violence in their lives, play the maternal role. The participants were in a shelter for young mothers in São Paulo city. Five meetings were conducted with each pair (mother and son) for about one hour, when the relationship between the teenager with her mother and family, her experience with pregnancy and motherhood, her experience with various forms of violence and the bond with her child, were exploited. The psychoanalytic research method was employed and transference and countertransference aspects, which go beyond the verbal communication, were therefore analyzed. The content found can be linked with the Winnicotts ideas. In this study we concluded that the feeling of abandonment and emptiness caused by the absence of a genuine affection is transmitted between generations in the mother-child relationship and frequently has the violence as consequence. The violence stops the process of emotional maturation and the achievement of a sense of real concern to another person. The possibility of restoring ties and continuing the integration process depends largely on the support and assistance (holding) offered to these young mothers. In these three cases, we observed that there is still hope, according to Winnicott\'s concept, to find a meaningful experience of affection, through which it constitutes a genuine feeling of concern and commitment to the other person
