Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-29T14:27:27Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Roberto Almeida da Paz.pdf: 2591965 bytes, checksum: 52c326898e3392fc23034b0835df3f1d (MD5) Previous issue date: 2015-03-16 / The present study focuses on the hermeneutics of justice and justification, whose emphasis is the Letter to the Romans. It aims at bringing out the substantial content of justification by faith in Pauline theology, within the studied pericope (Rom 1,16-17). Then it examines the consequences of the justication s intelligibility, as the principle of salvation of man (Jew and Greek) through gratuity and divine initiative. The objective is to understand the notion of justification in order to detect its conceptual structure and theological concepts to which it relates, such as justice, gospel, faith, reconciliation, salvation, etc. In addition, the exegetical path used here presents a thorough study of Paul s understanding, which justifies man by his faith in Christ and the Holy Spirit. The conclusion suggests some reflections regarding the contemporaneity of the topic, rather than a hasty understanding that justification might essentially stem from Protestant theology / Este trabalho estuda os aspectos hermenêuticos da justiça e da justificação, na Carta aos Romanos.

Ferreira, Antonio Carlos 24 February 2016 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-29T14:27:28Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Antonio Carlos Ferreira.pdf: 2962525 bytes, checksum: 115434630234989a8886f14a518bbb6d (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-02-24 / The purpose of this thesis is to perform a narrative reading of Mark 4.35-41, focusing on the character of the individuals in order to understand their behavior when facing a dangerous situation in the storm at sea they ask Jesus, Master, do you not care that we are perishing? When facing danger, the prevalent emotions are fear, despair and anxiety. Therefore, the exegetical study will be conducted using psychology, a science that studies human behavior and mental processes. Based on the theoretical principles of Bible study as literature, the goal of the present study is to perform an exegetical analysis of the biblical narrative in Mark. The miracle description includes all issues related found in manuals and biblical commentaries with their multivisions. It also includes a parenetic, coeval analysis of the text based on the sciences of human behavior aimed at updating and application in modern life. Therefore, the text exegesis sheds light on the history, the validity of the pericope and update for modern life based on psychology. It applies to the study in question the historical-critical method over the structuralist and fundamentalist / Esta tese busca realizar uma leitura da narrativa em Marcos 4,35-41.

Sousa, Fernando Figueiredo de 13 December 2012 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-25T19:20:25Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Fernando Figueiredo de Sousa.pdf: 733635 bytes, checksum: 85ab8a5ec8f155d7406fe37c93f05c6a (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-12-13 / This paper seeks to study the text of Lk 6, 20-26, of the beatitudes and of the woes, seeing in this passage an example of the recuperation, analysis and recreation of Jesus words. In this resides one of the particularities of this text in the context of the New Testament, which places it, however, in the heart of a fundamental direction of the beginnings of Christianity, namely, the tradition that goes back to Jesus by the conservation and transmission of his teachings. The author of this paper proposes the study of this text in three aspects. The first is the study of the text in of itself, as a communicative unity. The second aspect is the verification of the literature that influenced the Lucan author in the construction of this text, especially the Q source, and its comparison with words of the beatitudes attributed to the poor present in the Gospel of Thomas and the letter of James. In the third aspect, the author s intention is to analyze the importance of the writer of the Lucan text, his interference and the use of the blessed are and the woe to for the community. He considers that one of the accomplishments of the beatitudes is the approximation to the table as the instauration of the Kingdom of God, that is, the rich who share their wealth with the beggars. In this way, it is possible to verify an important connection between sharing with the beggars and belonging to the community, as a key element to becoming part of the Kingdom of God, the central element Jesus life and preaching, proposed by the beatitudes according to Luke / A presente pesquisa se aproxima do texto de Lc 6,20-26, das bem-aventuranças e dos ais, vendo nessa passagem um exercício de recuperação, análise e recriação de palavras de Jesus.

Clement of Alexandria : incarnation and mission of the Logos-Son

Worden, Daniel Lee January 2016 (has links)
Clementine scholarship acknowledges Clement's doctrine of the Incarnation and generally maintains that for Clement the divine Logos assumed human flesh. However, because of Clement's complex logology and three passages suggesting a docetic interpretation of Christ's flesh, scholars tend to move away from addressing the Incarnation and treat either the metaphysics of the multiple logoi theory or the question of Clement's Docetism, or both. Because of this diversion in research, there remains a gap in the literature around Clement's teachings about the Incarnation. This thesis begins to fill the gap by explaining Clement's view of the Incarnation, which he connects to the emergent ‘exchange' doctrine, envisaged as a divine mission. It situates Clement as an heir of the apostolic tradition while he engages with Greek philosophy and Gnostic belief. The research delineates Clement's gnostic tradition, which he considered faithful to the Old Testament and to the teachings of the apostles. The investigation collates Clement's usage of John 1:14 and the term ginomai linked with Logos, anthropos, and sarx. It examines Clement's discussion in Stromateis VII.2, where he claims the Logos assumed flesh susceptible to suffering, emotions, and physical sensibilities. In Clement's teachings, the Logos became both anthropos and sarx so that anthropos might become theos. This thesis outlines Clement's usage of the terms parousia and epiphaneia (appearing), showing they are consequential to the Incarnation. Clement presents the Logos as Saviour, who conquers malevolent powers and death to release humankind from corruption through his sufferings from birth to the cross. Clement also presents the Logos as a Teacher, who during his parousia, interprets precisely the Old Testament, and in his appearing, discloses true gnosis, which guides anthropos to godliness. The evidence demonstrates that Clement bases his path for assimilation to God upon the Incarnation of the Logos.

ANALISI FILOLOGICA E STORICO-TEOLOGICA DI UN INNO PASQUALE PRIMIGENIO. IL CASO DI Mt 27,51b - 53

PESSINA, ANNA 02 September 2019 (has links)
The thesis aims to reconstruct the history of the text of Matt 27:51b-53. This brief composition, probably a hymn, is particularly relevant for its arrangement in the passion narrative, which is the most important point of the Gospel’s kerygma. By applying a methodology that takes into consideration the peculiarity of the origin, the redaction, and the transmission of the earliest Christian literature, these verses are assumed as a study case, in order to value the indirect tradition in the reconstruction of the text of the New Testament. The work is divided into two parts: the first one, philological, brings out, through the indirect quotations, the earliest form of the text, which is partly different from the canonical one. Here, the sentence «after his resurrection» is relevant because it was not present in the primitive text. The second section analyses the context and the employment of the Matthean pericope in order to confirm the hypothesis of the hymn. It might have been a liturgical material, perhaps Jewish-Christian, used by the community and added to the Gospel by the redactor. Finally, this study takes into account the theological reasons that could have caused, within the third and fourth centuries, the modification of the earliest text.

Luther on love and law : a historical investigation of Martin Luther's application of scriptural authority to Church and State

Shunk, Joanna 08 1900 (has links)
This paper begins by citing some of the past century’s commentaries on Luther’s views on authority in government and the church as well as his views on human nature. I will show where his critics place him in reference to the scholastic tradition as well as the Roman tradition within the church. From here I will consider his writings themselves for the arguments that he made regarding the church and its source of authority as well as its proper relationship to the government, or temporal authority. I will address Luther’s perspective on the church’s place in society as compares with the temporal authority’s role. Finally I will present Luther’s writings in two specific situations concerning how the kingdom of God is built; more precisely, to what extent, if at all, the church is to depend upon the temporal authority for the establishment of the kingdom of God. The aim of this paper is to reply to the charge of some critics that Luther depended on the temporal authority for the establishment of the church and the implication that he gave the temporal authority control over spiritual matters. We will discover that Luther’s final source of authority comes from the Scriptures and the surprising effect that this has on his political philosophy is both to increase submission to the governing authorities as well as to increase freedom from the tyranny of false doctrine.

Scholz, Christhart Johannes 11 1900 (has links)
This research work qualitatively examines the beneficial and hindering factors of the missionary commitment of the Zanzibari Christians to the native population. The aim is to describe these factors and to create an awareness for the lack of holistic mission so that countermeasures can be taken. Firstly, background information about Zanzibar is presented. Next, the historical development and current church landscape are described. Based on the empirical-theological practice cycle, the planning and execution as well as the results of qualitative interviews carried out with six church workers are then presented. Furthermore, based on the Grounded Theory, two tendencies of their mission practice ranging from negligible to minimal are identified, caused by a kingdom-come orientation concerning the understanding of the Gospel. Last but not least, based on the research results, the actual state of the mission practice of the Zanzibari churches is presented in three theses.
