[pt] O presente trabalho consiste numa exposição do conceito

[en] THE EPIC AS POLITICAL ART IN WALTER BENJAMIN AND BERTOLT BRECHT / [pt] O ÉPICO COMO ARTE POLÍTICA EM WALTER BENJAMIN E BERTOLT BRECHTMARIA EDUARDA DE OLIVEIRA CASTRO 20 December 2018 (has links)
[en] This thesis focus on the territory of an epic art in the philosophy of
Walter Benjamin and in the theater of Bertolt Brecht. The epic is seen here in the
context of politicization of twentieth-century art, which would achieve one of its
most significant and experimental expressions in the Brecht theater. Benjamin
will figure not only as an important reader of Brecht, but as a thinker of the epic.
His readings of the 1930s on political art and on the narrator will have an
important role. The narrator will be thought of as a narrator of political situations,
and in connection with a theater which, as Brecht pointed out, acquires new
possibilities to narrate. We will also deal with the conceptions of an epic
theater, or proletarian, of the director Erwin Piscator, and the readings of the
writer and critic Alfred Doblin on an epic work.

[en] IN THE WHIRLPOOL OF HISTORY: A STUDY ON THE RELATIONSHIP OF TRUTH AND LANGUAGE IN WALTER BENJAMIN / [pt] NO REDEMOINHO DA HISTÓRIA: UM ESTUDO SOBRE A RELAÇÃO ENTRE A VERDADE E LINGUAGEM EM WALTER BENJAMINMARIA CLARA CAVALCANTI DE ABREU 27 January 2009 (has links)
compreender a
dissertação estuda parte do
românticos a partir do estudo
[en] Throughout his work, Walter Benjamin was concerned with
understanding the
proper form of philosophical thought and its expression.
Thus, he attributed extreme
importance to the exercise of this form in the language of
philosophy, more
specifically in its writing. Thought, according to Benjamin,
returns to the beginning
and, thus comes back with minutiae to the thing itself. The
motivation of
philosophical language starts from the constant return to
micrologic. This language
can find access to truth by renouncing its intention and
being willing to detour. This
dissertation studies part of the unfolding of this problem
in Benjamin: what is the
form of expression proper to philosophy, or what is the
relationship between form
and content in philosophical language. With this purpose, we
try to expose the
foundations of Benjamin's conception of language; his
emphasis on the
comprehension of form in the first romantics from the
perspective of his study on
their concept of criticism; finally, we arrive at the
question of the relationship
between truth and history based on the concepts of monad and
origin.

[en] IN A FLASH: AN APPROACH TO THE CONCEPT OF DIALECTICAL IMAGE FROM WALTER BENJAMIN / [pt] COMO UM RELÂMPAGO: UMA ABORDAGEM DO CONCEITO DE IMAGEM DIALÉTICA A PARTIR DE WALTER BENJAMINANA CRISTINA BARTOLO 30 June 2017 (has links)
[en] This essay reflects a conceptual image associated with the dimension of time and has as conducting elements the notions of Flash and Constellation used in the definition of the dialectical image by Walter Benjamin. This paper is divided in two parts: in the first, the metaphorical terms Flash and Constellation are deployed in some of their meanings in the Benjaminian work and, in the second, establishing a dialogue with the theoretical elements, previously developed from a small set of unique objects: a poem, a conceptual image and some plastic images.

[en] IN SEARCH OF LOST MEANING: LITERARY EXPRESSIONS OF THE DECLINE OF MODERN EXPERIENCE IN THE THINKING OF WALTER BENJAMIN / [pt] EM BUSCA DO SENTIDO PERDIDO: EXPRESSÕES LITERÁRIAS DA QUEDA DA EXPERIÊNCIA MODERNA NO PENSAMENTO DE WALTER BENJAMINMARCELA FIGUEIREDO CIBELLA DE OLIVEIRA 24 February 2010 (has links)
individual.
[en] Taking as a starting point the shift from traditional narrative to the novel at
the beginning of modernity, as understood by Walter Benjamin, particularly in his
essay The Storyteller, this text will investigate the literary expressions of the
process of decline in collective experience that came about with the emergence of
the bourgeoisie and industrial societies at the end of the 19th century. To do so,
this work will examine Benjamin’s concept of experience (Erfahrung) and it’s
decline in modernity, as well as its replacement by isolated experience
(Erlebnis), since the meaning of life was no longer given immediately in
collectivity. In the realm of artistic forms, the novel has been seen, therefore, as a
way of finding the lost meaning from an individual perspective. The analyses
that Benjamin makes of the lyric poetry of Baudelaire and the Proust novel In
Search of Lost Time are part of this trajectory, as well as the notions of allegory,
memory, remembrance and death. The fragments of Berlin Childhood around
1900, together with Proustian Recherche, offer an opportunity to reflect on the
problem of time and discuss the possibility of the construction of experience in
writing.

[en] THE DETOUR OF METHOD: LANGUAGE AND HISTORY ON THE THOUGHT OF WALTER BENJAMIN / [pt] O DESVIO DO MÉTODO: LINGUAGEM E HISTÓRIA NO PENSAMENTO DE WALTER BENJAMINIVE DE SANTANA CUNHA 29 January 2007 (has links)
[pt] Esta dissertação aborda um aparente problema do Prefácio
crítico do livro A origem do drama barroco alemão.
dissertação trata do tema do
desvio (Umweg), relacionando-o à questão central da
apresentação das idéias (Darstellung). Nesta perspectiva, o
Postulada a
[en] The Critique Foreword for the book The origin of German
tragic drama -
text that brings Benjamin´s theory of language closer to
the traditional
philosophical terminology - surprises with the proposition:
method is detour.
This dissertation approaches the theme of the detour
(Umweg) relating it to the
central problem of the presentation of ideas (Darstellung).
In this perspective, the
research articulates benjaminian theories of language and
history, by the liaisons
held between his theory of nomination (1916), of
translation (1921), of
presentation (1924) along with his later concept of
dialectical images (1940).
Once postulated the importance of the sensible for the
thinking, the detour would
be the formal trace of the thought expressed in language,
specially, written.

[en] TEACHER, WHAT DOES PHILOSOPHY STAND FOR? DIALOGUES CONCERNING ETHIC / [pt] PRA QUE SERVE A FILOSOFIA, PROFESSOR? DIÁLOGOS SOBRE ÉTICACLAUDIA FENERICH DE CARVALHO POSADA 06 October 2005 (has links)
dominação é a negação
de outras possibilidades de organização social. Nesse
contexto, o presente
transformar as condições
[en] The educational reforms of the 1990´s, launched on an
international basis,
have put forward Ethics understood as education for
citizenship, as the central
objective of pedagogic action. Proposals presented by
international organizations
such as UNESCO and BIRD aimed at educating competent
citizens to perform in
a globalized world, ruled by market principles in
accordance to parameters set by
neo-liberal politics. The Brazilian National Curriculum
(PCNs) developed during
Fernando Henrique Cardoso´s government and including a
document focusing
particularly on Ethics in education is the epitome of this
attempt to connect
Brazilian education to political action whose strategy for
domination is the
negation of other possibilities of social organization. In
this context, the present
work aims at inserting the thinking of Walter Benjamin in
the current debate about
Ethics in education, formulating the question of an ethical
education in Terms of
an intervention allowing the student to articulate his
understanding of his own
world, constituted by real life situations in combination
with historical action
determining the present moment. Based on an understanding
of Ethics as a
historical commitment and of any action capable of
transforming this commitment
as necessarily being rooted in it, we have talked to seven
Primary school teachers,
asking them to establish connections with the word Ethics
and to consider the
ideas underlying these connections.

[en] THE ORIGIN OF EXTREMES: THE THEORY OF LANGUAGE IN THE EARLY WALTER BENJAMIN S CONCEPT O WORK OF ART / [pt] A ORIGEM DOS EXTREMOS: A TEORIA DA LINGUAGEM NO CONCEITO DE OBRA DE ARTE DO PRIMEIRO WALTER BENJAMINSERGIANO ALCANTARA DA SILVA 30 January 2019 (has links)
[en] The present thesis aims to analyze Walter Benjamin s concept of work of art based on his theory of language, using as our object the first writings of the author, ranging from 1910 to 1930. The reason for focusing on such a theory is that we perceive the maintenance of a thought structure in it which encompasses many themes, including our own, that of a concept of work of art. This structure characterizes itself for the determination of conceptual extremes, which communicate and correspond one another in order to form a philosophical system that, contradictorily, is distinguished by its fragmentation. With this in mind, we intend to make a topological approach, that is, to name some topoi, motifs spread in Benjamin s system, which reproduce the same characteristics, either in his philosophy of history or in his theory of art. In sum, we point out the relations as well as the correspondences among those topoi as we also observe a dimension that gradually rises in this structure, a dialectical one.

[en] WALTER BENJAMIN: TRUTH IN IMAGES / [fr] WALTER BENJAMIN: LA VÉRITÉ EN IMAGES / [pt] WALTER BENJAMIN: A VERDADE EM IMAGENSANA LUIZA VARELLA FRANCO 28 December 2010 (has links)
[pt] Meu trabalho, Walter Benjamin.
A forma alegórica
[en] My work, Walter Benjamin. Truth in Images, intends to convey
specificities of Walter Benjamin’s philosophy, which is directed to the plenitude
of the human experience. This philosophy is guided by his conviction that the
expressive dimension of language is the historical field, in which truth may be
construed in images. Benjamin values the symbolic nature of language while
investigating the path that deviates both from classical theory, such as the
linguistic theories that marked the beginning of the 20th Century. The philosopher
articulates experience and language and takes on the issue of language as being, at
the same time, communication and expression, diving into a reflection about the
power of images and its temporality: its possibility of eternally updating history as
a name that has just been born, as the radically new. In the realm of words, the
world is perceived; from words, obscure images derive, making up the written
form of the human memory. The basis of his thinking may be found in Jewish
mysticism, in Kantian philosophy, in German romanticism and in his encounter
with contemporary works. While excavating various extracts of meaning in this
field with the rigorousness of his criticism, Benjamin presents a new means of
conceiving knowledge and a new concept of history and time. By means of an
epistemological paradigm, at the same time aesthetic, theological and political, the
philosopher unites the spiritual and the historic, refuses the ideas of continuity, of
causality and of progress, which characterizes the conceptions of the 19th Century,
and proposes that philosophy be an exercise of presenting the truth. Knowledge
may only be thought of as an experience of truth that appears in an instant, with
all its beauty and mystery. It is a process of reading and writing, starting with the
present of the philosopher/historian that promotes redemption from the past, from
the present and the future, through rupture. The aesthetic category of the Allegory
will attend to the quintessential aspect of his interrogations: to seek objectivity
capable of responding to the destructive character of philosophical criticism
through the linguistic relationship between time and imagery. The Allegorical
form expresses the fragmentation of thought, of language and of time, the
incompleteness of history and of truth. The Allegorical form attends to the
demand of - in the now of cognoscibility - presenting truth in images.
