A study of the performance of market oriented reforms in the chinese telecom industry / Une étude sur les performances des réformes orientées vers le marché de l'industrie chinoise de télécommunication

Avec l'arrivée de l'époque de l'économie informatique, la société présente une demande et un besoin plus exigeants sur le secteur de télécommunication. Depuis les années 1980s, les réformes du marché mondial de la télécommunication s'orientent vers l'introduction de la régulation, la favorisation de la concurrence et la privatisation. Cependant, le marché de télécommunication chinois suit toujours le mode de gestion traditionnelle, c'est-à-dire monopolisent les entreprises d'état influencées elles-mêmes par le gouvernement. Le retard des réformes freine le développement de cette industrie et l'état malsain, dans lequel coexistent le prix trop élevé, le service peu satisfaisant et le chiffre d'affaires non suffisant, exige plus d'ouverture. Par rapport à beaucoup d'autres secteurs, celui de la télécommunication influence de façon plus profonde et stratégique le développement complet, cohérent et durable de l'économie chinoise. Par conséquent, les réformes de ce secteur attirent beaucoup d'attention. En plus, comme l'industrie de télécommunication a connu très tôt les réformes orientées vers le marché et qu'elle a donc un système relativement complet, ses prochains réformes seront pour les autres secteurs un exemple et une référence. Le présent travail s'intéresse ainsi aux réformes de l'industrie de télécommunication chinoise, ainsi que les performances qu'ils entraînent. C'est un sujet qui est non seulement significatif et crutial pour le développement cohérent de la société économique chinoise, mais aussi nécessaire et imminent pour une réponse. Le présent travail comprend six chapitres dont le contenu et la structure sont suivants : premièrement, la thèse suit l'ordre "caractéristiques - concurrence - régulation - réformes", et basé sur les théories de monopolisation naturelle, de concurrence effective et d'organisation industrielle, elle met en ordre et analyse la création, le développement et la mutation de l'industrie de télécommunication moderne de Chine, ce qui constituera le fondement théorique pour la recherche sur les performances des réformes de l'industrie de télécommunication chinoise. Deuxièmement, en tenant compte de l'impact des facteurs institutionnels sur l'organisation industrielle, la présente thèse met en avant un cadre d'évaluation RSCP (règlement-structure-comportement-performances), qui a pour objectif d'établir une concurrence effective dans les réformes du secteur de télécommunication de la Chine. Troisièmement, le présent travail divise, de manière chronologique, le parcours des réformes du secteur de télécommunication en 4 étapes (depuis le début de la réforme et l'ouverture de la Chine) : gestion monopolistique, soutien politique, introduction des concurrences et concurrences complètes préliminaires. En analysant la situation actuelle de la réforme du secteur de télécommunication de la Chine, la thèse tente d'évaluer ensuite ses performances. La thèse calcule à la fin l'indice des performances des réformes du secteur de télécommunication de la Chine et effectue ensuite une analyse statistique et des tests d'hypothèses basés sur le modèle de régression linéaire multiple. Le résultat montre que les réformes orientées vers le marché du secteur de télécommunication de la chine favorise, dans une certaine mesure, le développement de l'industrie chinoise de télécommunication, réduit efficacement les dépenses en services, augmente le nombre d'utilisateurs, et optimise la structure des services de télécommunications. En même temps, l'étude constate également que la qualité et la capacité du service doivent encore être améliorées. / With the advent of information economy people all over the world have a higher and more extensive demand on the communications industry. Since the 1980s there has emerged a dominant trend in countries around the world to deregulate the telecom industry and introduce market-oriented reforms. Up until the 1980s the Chinese telecom industry was still monopolized by the government and the country’s market-oriented reforms in the industry lagged behind many other rapidly developing nations. The problem of high expense, low service quality, and insufficient service capacity made it urgent to open up the Chinese telecom market. Compared to other competitive industries it can be said that the telecom industry comprehensively and strategically influences the overall harmonious and sustainable development of a national economy. Reform in the telecom industry covers a wide range of areas and is closely associated with the national welfare and people’s livelihood. As such it attracts great attention from the public at large. Compared to other industries in China whichare also regulated by the government, China’s telecom industry (the first to carry our market-oriented reforms in the country) is relatively mature as such it can be said that its future reform provides a reference point for market-oriented reforms in other industries as well in the country. Taking this fact into consideration the present thesis chooses market-oriented reforms and the performance of that reform in China’s telecom industry as our research objective. We consider this to be an essential element for the harmonious economic and social development of modern China. It is therefore an urgent issue to be addressed. The whole thesis consists of six chapters and its main content and structure are as follows: Taking into account the characteristics of competition – regulation – reform as a starting point, the thesis utilizes natural monopoly theory, effective competition theory, and industrial organization theory as the conceptual and theoretical basis for our work.It reviews previous work completed in the area then conducts an in-depth analysis of the foundation, development, and characteristics of modern telecom industry, laying atheoretical foundation for studying the performance of market-oriented reform in China’s telecom industry. Secondly, taking into consideration the impact of institutional factors on industrialorganization, the present thesis puts forward a regulation–structure–conduct –performance (RSCP) theoretical framework based on China’s national conditions and takes effective competition as the goal of China’s telecom industry reform. Thirdly, the thesis groups, in a chronological manner, China’s telecom reform into four different phases (since the beginning of the reform and opening up of the economy) which have been identified as: monopoly operation, policy support, introducing competition, and preliminary perfect competition. It then conducts an analysis of the reform background, reform procedure, and reform measures. By analyzing the current situation in China’s telecom industry reform, the thesis attempts to evaluate the performance of the reform in China’s telecom industry. The thesis then calculates the performance index of China’s telecom industry reform and conducts a statistical analysis and hypothesis testing based on correlation analysis and multiple linear regression models respectively. The result shows that market-oriented reform in China’s telecom industry, to some degree, promotes the development of China’s telecom industry, effectively reduces the expenses in telecom services, boosts the number of telecom service users, and optimizes telecom service structure. These positive developments notwithstanding, the study also finds that service quality and capacity are yet to be significantly improved in China’s telecomindustry.

In the first part, there is a summary of the financial and the strategic analysis which was the subject of the thesis written by Jakub Štěpán. The first part includes the specification of the operation assets as well. The fifth part is focused on the prediction of the value creators which are further used in the following chapter as a base of the financial plan. The last part contains the overall valuation of the company. As a main method is used DCF Entity and as an additional method the market comparison. The value of the company is established as an interval range.

Gendered positions in a church youth group: a discourse analysis

Magister Artium - MA / This research is a discourse analysis of a Christian ‗coloured‘ youth group, from the area of Mitchell‘s Plain, Cape Town. The aim of the analysis is to explore the ways in which the interlocutors construct their identities and gender positions and how they are able to affirm, challenge and perpetuate dominant discourses. The role of this context, namely the social and religious context is pivotal to shaping this interaction.The analysis of the data uses the Appraisal framework particularly the attitudinal and engagement systems to analyse how the interlocutors strategically communicate their attitudes,evaluations, feelings and judgements. Ultimately, this research shows how the males and females use language to negotiate identities and socially position themselves.In addition, the research indicates that the male interlocutors in most instances exert a strong influence on the discussions, which result in females showing tendencies to allow for the male ideologies to dictate, thus perpetuating the dominant ideologies about male and female behaviour.

Bakgrunden till studien är att den kommersiella fastighetsmarknaden är en säregen marknad, med kännetecken som heterogenitet och illikviditet. Det råder en form av informationsasymmetri mellan olika parter på fastighetsmarknaden, detta på grund av att fastighetsbolag besitter mer information om fastigheterna än andra intressenter på marknaden. Detta samtidigt som det även råder en annan form av informationsasymmetri, att en stor del av fastighetstransaktioner idag sker genom bolagsförvärv, vilket leder till att dessa inte blir publika för allmänheten. Tidigare forskning menar att det finns olika metoder att tillgå vid värdering till verkligt värde samtidigt som professionsteori förklarar hur en yrkesroll som benämns profession arbetar i sin yrkesroll. Syftet med studien är således att med grund i problematiken kring fastighetsvärderingar till verkligt värde, förklara den process som fastighetsvärderare använder sig av för att känna sig trygg i sin värdering. För att besvara syftet med studien tillämpades en kvalitativ metod i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer med auktoriserade fastighetsvärderare i Sverige. Datan bearbetades och analyserades genom transkribering, och kodning genom indelning i kategorier och teman efter ett induktivt tillvägagångssätt. I diskussionen ställdes den teoretiska bakgrunden mot den insamlade empiriska datan. I slutsatsen skrivs att det är flera olika faktorer som skapar trygghet i värderingsprocessen. De värderingsmetoder som finns tillgängliga för en fastighetsvärderare att tillämpa för att värdera kommersiella fastigheter är inte alltid tillräckliga för att eliminera de osäkerheter som möjligtvis kan råda under en värderingsprocess. För att en fastighetsvärderare ska bli trygg i sin värderingsprocess krävs bland annat även erfarenhet, kollegialitet och autonomi. / The background to this thesis lies in the commercial property market’s unique characteristics, such as heterogeneity and illiquidity. There is also information asymmetry between different actors on the market, since the real estate companies have access to more knowledge regarding their properties. At the same time, there is also another form of information asymmetry, since many of the transactions within the real estate market occur through company acquisitions and these are not therefore made public. Previous research implies that there are different methods that can be used when appraising real estate at fair value while profession theory explains how a profession works. The purpose of this study is therefore, based on the complexity surrounding real estate appraisals to fair value, to explain the process an appraiser uses to feel assuredness in the appraisal. To answer the study’s purpose, a qualitative method was adapted by conducting semi-structured interviews with authorized appraisers in Sweden. The collected data were processed and analyzed through transcription and coding via division into categories and themes. An inductive approach was used. In the discussion the theoretical background was put up against the collected empirical data. In the conclusion it is made clear that several different factors create assuredness in the appraisal process. The methods that are available to an appraiser are not always enough to eliminate the uncertainties that might occur during an appraisal process. Experience, collegiality and autonomy are amongst the factors required for an appraiser to reach assuredness in the appraisal process.

Self Evaluatation as a Method of Improving Teaching Practice at the University of the Witwatersrand

A sample of nine lecturers at the University of the Witwatersrand were identified, and, by means of a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews, participants were asked to disclose their attitudes towards performance evaluation as a practice at the University, and their personal views in relation to critical self reflection. Critical reflection involves an appraisal of that which is being reflected upon. When such appraisal involves assumption or presupposition, it “holds major potential for effecting change in one’s established frame of reference (Mezirow, 1998). This reflection leads to improved teaching practice. Lecturers at the University all support the notion of self-evaluation, but in practice only one of the nine participants actively and critically reflected upon his teaching. Most of the subjects sanction self-evaluation as a concept, do not practise critical reflection. The reasons for this are numerous as the conclusions to the study reveal, but most significant is that lecturers do not see any reason to reflect upon their own performance, nor see any benefit in doing so.

Goals, affect and appraisal within the stressful transaction.

This study explored how personal strivings constructs of Goal Conflict and Complementarity and primary appraisal dimensions of Motivational Relevance and Congruence (separately and in combination), related across time to immediate and long-term effects of a stressful transaction. The study was located within the transactional model of stress and integrated aspects of motivational theory, focusing on the theoretical position that within the stressful transaction the relationship between motivational factors and the individual response to an event is mediated by cognitive processes, including appraisal. Advances in transactional theory highlight the role of motivational factors (such as personal strivings) as linked to primary appraisal in the form of Motivational Relevance and Congruence. The utility of personal strivings in exploring the role of motivational factors in the stress process were highlighted. Despite an increasing theoretical focus on motivation and appraisal, research in the area is limited. Data was collected for the study through the administration of questionnaires to university students (N=152) prior to (time 1) and into (time 2) an examination period. The questionnaires used a range of self-report measures. Correlations, partial correlations and ANOVAs were used to analyze the data. The findings indicated that Goal Complementarity and Conflict directly influenced primary appraisal processes but not affective and wellbeing outcomes. It was proposed that primary appraisal processes were the conduit through which the impact of Goal Complementarity and Conflict were expressed within the stressful transaction. The results also suggested the impact of anticipatory Motivational Relevance which seemed to imply a highly “loaded” event with negative affective and long-term consequences into the event. Subjects entering the event wit h an “optimistic” demeanour indicated by high anticipatory Congruence and positive affect had increased Congruence into the event with consequent amplified positive emotions and dampened negative effects. Subjects with high anticipatory Relevance and low Congruence across the event had relatively higher scores on negative outcomes. High anticipatory Relevance and Congruence was associated with negative immediate and long-term outcomes into the event. High Relevance Congruence was generally associated with a strong emotional response, which also elicited strong positive emotion as the event unfolded. Subjects with low Relevance did not seem to hold as strong an investment in the event and reported reduced emotions and symptomology. These findings were discussed in relation to the stress, appraisal and motivation literature and their limitations and implications were explored.

Studiens syfte är att få en förståelse för vilka konkreta faktorer en ledare kan använda sig av för att påverka målsamtal och skapa engagemang hos medarbetare. Metod: Denna studie utgår ifrån socialkonstruktivismen och hermeneutiskt perspektiv där vi har gjort en kvalitativ studie och använt oss av abduktiv ansats för att skapa förståelse för undersökningsområdet. Den teoretiska referensramen är uppbyggd på tidigare forskning samt litteratur och empiri samlades in från tio semistrukturerade intervjuer. Teoretisk referensram och empiri har sedan använts för att analysera data och ta fram studiens bidrag. Resultat och slutsats: Resultatet identifierar sju konkreta faktorer som kan skapa engagemang genom målsamtal. Dessa konkreta faktorer har direkt och indirekt påverkan på engagemang. Konkreta faktorer som har direkt påverkan kan på egen hand skapa engagemang hos medarbetare medan konkreta faktorer som har indirekt påverkan har begränsad förmåga att skapa engagemang. Examensarbetets bidrag: I vår studie har vi fördjupat oss inom sju konkreta faktorer; tid, plats, frekvens, tydlig struktur, tydliga mål, antal medarbetare per ledare och förberedelser. I studien synliggörs hur dessa konkreta faktorer kan påverka medarbetarens engagemang i ett målsamtal. Dessa konkreta faktorer har även jämförts med varandra för att bedöma vilka konkreta faktorer som direkt eller indirekt påverkan på skapandet av engagemang genom målsamtal. Studien bidrar även med en förståelse för sambandet mellan begreppen engagemang, feedback, ledare och målsamtal. Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Det skulle behövas mer djupgående forskning kring de faktorer vi har identifierat för att få en ännu bättre förståelse för hur de skapar engagemang genom målsamtal. Method: This study is based on social constructivism and hermeneutic perspective where we have done a qualitative study and used abductive approach to create an understanding for the research area. Theoretical frame is built on the previous research and literature. The empirical data was collected from ten semi-structured interviews. Theoretical frame and the empirical data have then been used to analyze data and produce the study's contribution. Result & Conclusions: The result identifies seven concrete factors that can create engagement through performance appraisal. These concrete factors have direct and indirect impact on engagement. Concrete factors that have direct impact can on their own create employee engagement while concrete factors with indirect impact have limited ability to create engagement. Contribution of the thesis: We have in our study immersed ourselves into seven factors; time, place, frequency, clear structure, clear goals, number of employees per leader and preparation. In this study we explain how the factors can create engagement through performance appraisal. These concrete factors have been compared with each other to assess which factors have direct or indirect impact on the creation of engagement through performance appraisal. The study also leaves an understanding of the connection between the concepts engagement, feedback, leader and performance appraisal. Suggestions for future research: There is a need for more in-depth research based on the factors we have identified to obtain a further understanding on how these factors create engagement through performance appraisal. More research would be needed, including additional factors that could create engagement, as there are a greater variety of factors that can create engagement through performance appraisal. We believe that it would be beneficial if further research had created an approach that could measure engagement through performance appraisal in order to assess the creation of engagement.

Identifiera och hantera våld i nära relation på arbetsplatsen : Kartläggning av chefers inställning och kunskaper

The societal problem of intimate partner violence is becoming more recognized and can be tackled from several angles, including the workplace. The workplace could help the victims of intimate partner violence by raising the issue during staff appraisal and implementing it as a routine so that these questions are asked to everyone. This survey studies the attitudes of managers at Region Norrbotten towards implementing routines at the workplace in order to be able to reach and help more people exposed to intimate partner violence. The manager's attitude has been investigated through a digital questionnaire sent out to managers at Region Norrbotten. The questionnaire contained both quantitative and qualitative questions. The quantitative questions were obligatory to answer while the qualitative questions were follow-up questions that could be answered if the respondent had anything to add. 82 managers responded, of which 72 women, 9 men and 1 non gender. The result was compiled in Google Docs survey program and the qualitative questions were set up in themes. The study showed that most of the respondents do not see any obstacles to introducing preventive work with the aim of helping employees who may be exposed to intimate partner violence. However, it emerged that today they do not have the required knowledge. They lack routines and training, which may explain that the majority of managers are uncertain about how to proceed if an employee is subjected to violence at home. They also state that they would feel safer to ask questions about the employee's home situation if there were clear routines in place. Almost all managers are positive about participating in an education on intimate partner violence. Since the attitude regarding the introduction of routines among the managers is predominantly positive, conclusions are drawn that there are good opportunities to introduce such work within Region Norrbotten but that support and training for managers in that case need to be developed. / Samhällsproblemet våld i nära relationer blir allt mer uppmärksammat och kanangripas från flera håll, däribland på arbetsplatsen. Arbetsplatsen skulle kunna hjälpa den våldsutsatta genom att lyfta frågan på medarbetarsamtal ochimplementera det som en rutin så att dessa frågor ställs till alla. Den här studien kartlägger vad chefer har för inställning till att införa insatser på arbetsplatsen för att kunna fånga upp fler våldsutsatta. Chefers inställning har undersökts genom en digital enkät som skickats ut till chefer inom Region Norrbotten. Enkäten innehöll båden kvantitativa och kvalitativa frågor. De kvantitativa frågorna var obligatoriska att besvara medan de kvalitativa frågorna var öppna följdfrågor som kunde besvaras om respondenten själv ville.82 chefer svarade, varav 72 kvinnor, 9 män och 1 hen. Materialet sammanställdes i Google Docs enkätprogram och de kvalitativa frågorna tematiserades. Studien visade att merparten av de tillfrågade cheferna inte ser något hinder till att införa ett förebyggande arbete med syfte att hjälpa anställda som kan vara utsatta för våld i hemmet. Det framkom dock att de idag inte har den kunskap som krävs. Desaknar rutiner och utbildning vilket kan förklara att majoriteten av cheferna är osäkra på hur de ska gå tillväga om en anställd skulle vara våldsutsatt hemma. De anger även att de skulle kännas sig tryggare att ställa frågor om den anställdes hemsituation om det fanns tydliga rutiner. Nästan alla chefer är positivt inställda till att gå en utbildning om våld i nära relationer. Eftersom inställningen gällande ett införande av rutiner bland cheferna är övervägande positiv dras slutsatser att det finns goda möjligheter att införa ett sådant arbete inom Region Norrbotten men att stöd och utbildning för chefer i så fall behöver utvecklas.

O estudo da sustentabilidade e da gestão de recursos humanos é um tema atual e importante para o desenvolvimento das organizações em um ambiente corporativo globalizado. A integração de sistemas de avaliação de desempenho e a sustentabilidade se faz necessária para as empresas que tem como objetivo se adequar aos parâmetros de índices e certificados sustentáveis. Estes, são importantes para o crescimento nos mercados em que se inserem. Assim, a pesquisa mostra a possibilidade de integrar as dimensões da sustentabilidade junto às dimensões do sistema de avaliação de desempenho utilizado pela organização. Neste contexto, o problema de pesquisa deste trabalho formulou-se da seguinte forma: como a avaliação de desempenho pode estruturar os objetivos sustentáveis e estratégicos da Gestão de Recursos Humanos? O presente trabalho visa, então, verificar se os processos de avaliação de desempenho dos colaboradores estão incorporando aos objetivos estratégicos de sustentabilidade das organizações. O trabalho foi realizado por meio de pesquisa qualitativa, utilizando a técnica do grupo focal. Na qual contribuiu para a elucidação de fatores que envolvem a Gestão de Recursos Humanos e do desenvolvimento sustentável em empresas do interior de São Paulo. Os momentos de discussão e reflexão culminaram em algumas considerações relevantes sobre o entendimento da estrutura das avaliações de desempenho e dos processo de sustentabilidade nas organizações. A principal conclusão deste trabalho está contida na necessidade da criação da gestão de desempenho sustentável. E, esta será possível quando as organizações delegarem responsabilidades sociais/ambientais aos colaboradores; estabelecerem metas para a performance sustentável; e, estabelecerem políticas para o uso de produtos insustentáveis, energia renovável e para redução de elementos tóxicos. Este trabalho é relevante, pois ratifica a necessidade da elaboração de ferramentas de mensuração da sustentabilidade dentro da organização e a estruturação do processo de avaliação de desempenho sustentável. / The study of sustainability and human resource management is a current topic and important for the development of organizations in a globalized business environment. The integration of performance appraisal systems and sustainability is necessary for companies that aim to fit the parameters of sustainable indexes. These are important for market growth in which they operate. Thus, the research shows the possibility of integrating the dimensions of sustainability along the dimensions of performance evaluation system. In this context, the work of this research problem was formulated as follows: how the performance evaluation can structure sustainable and strategic objectives of Human Resource Management? The present work addresses the topic of whether the employees\' performance evaluation process is incorporating the organizations\' sustainability strategic objectives. The study was conducted through qualitative research, using the focus group technique. In which, it contributed to the elucidation of factors involving Human Resources Management and sustainable development in São Paulo state companies. The moments of discussion and reflection culminated in some relevant considerations on the understanding of of performance assessments structure and sustainability process in organizations. The main conclusion of this work is the need to create sustainable performance management. And this will be possible when organizations delegate social/environmental responsibilities to employees; set goals for sustainable performance; and establish policies for the use of unsustainable products, renewable energy and for toxic elements reduction. This work is important because it confirms the need to prepare for sustainability measurement tools within the organization and the structuring of sustainable performance assessment process.

Filologia e discurso na correspondência oficial do Morgado de Mateus: edição de documentos administrativos e estudo das marcas de avaliatividade / Philology and Discourse in the official correspondence of the Morgado de Mateus: the edition of administrative manuscripts and the Appraisal analysis

Esta tese parte da função substantiva da Filologia ao realizar a transcrição semidiplomática de cem documentos oficiais setecentistas chancelados no período de 1765 a 1775. Esse conjunto contempla exemplares da documentação administrativa ascendente (ativa) e descendente (passiva) do Governador e Capitão-General da capitania de São Paulo, o Morgado de Mateus. O Morgado de Mateus é ora autor, ora interlocutor da Coroa Portuguesa, personificada na autoridade superior do Rei Dom José, que é representado pelo ministro do Reino, o Conde de Oeiras (posteriormente, Marquês de Pombal) e por dois secretários do Reino, Francisco Xavier de Mendonça Furtado e Martinho de Melo e Castro. Com base nas funções filológica, adjetiva e transcendente, analisam-se os documentos do corpus com o apoio das ciências auxiliares da Filologia: a Codicologia, a Crítica Textual, a Diplomática e a Paleografia. A partir dessas abordagens, retratam-se padrões de diferenciação de ordem codicológica, diplomática e paleográfica entre os documentos ativos e os passivos. A oposição entre documentos ativos e passivos (ou ascendentes e descendentes) também se estabelece em nível textual. Para a identificação de diferentes padrões discursivos no corpus, partimos de pressupostos da Linguística Sistêmico-Funcional (LSF), prescrita por Halliday e Matthiessen (2004), que considera a língua como uma rede de sistemas capaz de produzir significados de acordo com o contexto em que é utilizada. A língua, concebida como um sistema aberto e dinâmico orientado para a ação e para a reflexão, é empregada tanto para construir e comunicar as experiências humanas quanto para a negociação das relações interpessoais envolvidas na comunicação, cumprindo as duas metafunções ideacional e interpessoal. Complementar a elas, a metafunção textual seria a codificação dos textos, como processos de significação da língua, produzidos em relação a um dado contexto de ordem situacional e sociocultural. A importância atribuída ao contexto pela LSF acrescenta o viés da contextualização histórica às análises da construção e da estruturação discursivo-textual do corpus. Em tais análises destaca-se a metafunção interpessoal por meio das marcas linguísticas indicativas de valoração. Por conta desses destaques, adota-se a Teoria da Avaliatividade postulada por Martin e White (2005). Dessa forma, apoiadas as análises em pressupostos teórico-metodológicos que permitem um refinamento analítico nos subsistemas da Atitude, da Gradação e do Engajamento, reiteraram-se as distinções entre os eixos ascendente e descendente do corpus. Para aprofundar as análises, classificaram-se os documentos, tendo-se em vista o tipo de negociação intersubjetiva almejado. Em acréscimo ao levantamento dos recursos avaliativos pelos quais se vislumbram aspectos da intersubjetividade e da ideologia em voga, mapeiam-se as fórmulas inerentes à documentação oficial administrativa. A associação das perspectivas filológica e discursiva adotadas visam a comprovar a hipótese central desta tese, que é a seguinte: a correspondência oficial analisada apresenta diferentes padrões filológicos e discursivos, condicionados por fatores socioculturais e linguísticos que incidem sobre quem escreve e sobre quem controla a escrita desses documentos. / This doctoral dissertation deals with the substantive function of Philology by performing the semidiplomatic transcription of 100 eighteenth-century official documents registered by the chancelleries within the period from 1765 to 1775. This range of official handwritten documents covers examples of the administrative documentation as much the ascendant type (active) as the descendant type (passive) of the governor and captain-general of the captaincy of São Paulo, the Morgado de Mateus. The Morgado de Mateus figures as the author in the active documents and in the passive ones as the interlocutor of the Portuguese Kingdom, which is personified by the superior authority of the King Joseph I. The king is represented by the minister of the Kingdom, the Count of Oeiras (posteriorly, the Marquis of Pombal) and its two secretaries, Francisco Xavier de Mendonça Furtado and Martinho de Melo e Castro. The analysis of the corpus is developed on the basis of the philological, adjective and transcendent functions and supported by the light of auxiliary sciences of Philology: the Codicology, the Textual Criticism, the Diplomatic and the Paleography. Patterns of differentiation of codicologic, diplomatic and paleographic order depict from this sort of approach among the active and passive documents. The opposition between the active and the passive documents (or ascendant and descendant) is also established at the discursive level. The main theoretical premises behind the attempt of identifying different discursive patterns from the corpus are those of the Systemic-Functional Linguistic shared by Halliday and Matthiessen (2004), which consider the language as a web of systems capable of producing significance according to the context in which it is used. The language assumed as an open and dynamic system oriented to the acting and the thinking is employed as much in order to build and communicate human experiences as to negotiate interpersonal relationships involved in communication, accomplishing both metafunctions, ideational and interpersonal. The textual metafunction, as a complement to these, is to be the codification of the texts, as processes of significance in language produced in relation to a given context of situational and sociocultural order. The importance attached to the context by the Systemic-Functional Linguistic designs the lines of historical contextualization to the analysis of the discursive-textual construction and structuring of the corpus. On these grounds, the analysis evidences the interpersonal metafunction by means of the linguistics marks indicating valuation. This study adopts the Appraisal Theory postulated by Martin and White (2005) for the reason of these evidences. In this way, analysis based on theoretic-methodological premises that allow the analytical refining of the subsystems of Attitude, Graduation and Engagement reaffirmed the distinctiveness between the ascendant and the descendant axles of the corpus. Aiming the deepening of the present studies, the documents are classified according to the type of intersubjective negotiation targeted. In addition to the collecting of evaluative resources, by which we envisioned some aspects of the trending intersubjectivity and ideology, this work presents a mapping of the formula inherent to the administrative official documentation. From the outcome of our investigation, carried out through the association of the philological and the discursive perspective, it is provided confirmatory evidence to prove the central hypothesis of this work: the official correspondence analyzed demonstrates the existence of different philological and discursive patterns that are conditioned by factors from sociocultural and linguistic order affecting who writes the documents and also who controls the writing of these sort of papers.
