Estudo da influência da prática das artes cênicas e atividade autobiográfica e literária no comportamento de uma população com idade acima de 60 anos / Study of the Influence of the practice of the performing arts and the autobiographical and literary activities in the behavior of a population aged over 60 years

Nascimento, Adenilson Matos do 01 October 2013 (has links)
Os voluntários foram avaliados individualmente no pré- e pós-teste por meio dos questionários: Informações Sociodemográficas, World Health Organization Quality of Life - WHOQOL-Bref e WHOQOL-OLD; Cambridge Cognitive Test CAMCOG; por exames clínicos: medidas antropométricas, dosagem do colesterol total, HDL-colesterol, Colesterol LDL, triglicérides, glicemia, hemograma completo e eletrocardiograma; exames funcionais: Timed Up and Go Test -TUGT, Six-Minute Walk Test, One-Leg Balance Test; entrevistas, fotos, registros em vídeo, depoimentos e questionários de opinião. Esse estudo, por seus resultados positivos, valida a prática em artes cênicas como proposta de atividade promotora de motivação e sociabilidade em pessoas com faixa etária acima de 60 anos de idade, e, principalmente, por trabalhar aspectos motores do deslocamento, postura e equilíbrio corporais que além de promoverem saúde, adquirem função preventiva à quedas / Aging is an inevitable process for any living being , and in the case of the human being, the object of this study, the effects are accentuated from the age group above 60 years of age, when there is a naturally and continuous decline of motor, mental and social skills, in a progressive and interrelated form. This study, involving neurosciences, performing arts and health, arose from the general concern over the growing elderly population today in Brazil as well as in the world, the search for resources that provides better quality of life for this age group. Therefore, we performed a systematic study related to memory, body and movement, involving strategies autobiographical work, literary and scenic in order to understand the dynamics of some parameters cognitive, behavioral and physical in this age group, as well as determining its influence in overcoming of social, emotional conflicts and possible functional gains. Participants were initially volunteers aged 27 to 60 years old, socially active, of both sexes, residents of the city of São Paulo, SP, Brazil. The groups were designated Group 1 (G1), composed of 12 people, and Group 2 (G2), consisting of 15 individuals. With the G1 activities were developed based on memory that was rescued by several approaches and which was composed by each participant an autobiographical book, while the G2 were offered knowledge and practice of theatrical activity. The volunteers were evaluated individually in pre - and post - test by means of questionnaires: Sociodemographic Information, World Health Organization Quality of Life - WHOQOL - Bref and WHOQOL - OLD; Cambridge Cognitive Test - CAMCOG; clinical examination: Anthropometric measurements, measurement of total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose, complete blood count and electrocardiogram; functional tests: Timed Up and Go Test - TUGT, Six - Minute Walk Test, One - Leg Balance Test, interviews, photos, video recordings, statements and opinion questionnaires. The Assessment Questionnaire Final Activity resorted to Likert Scale for structuring questions. The study was conducted between August 2011 and January 2012, the theater of the Science Station - USP, São Paulo. Their results indicated positive changes related within groups between the pre - and post - tests, and showed that the autobiographical activity and performing arts, for the population aged over 60 years, are resources that promote health and better quality of life. This study, by its positive results, validates the practice in theater arts as proposed activity to promote motivation and sociability in people aged over 60 years of age, and especially for motor aspects of the work shift, posture and body balance that in addition to promoting health, preventive function acquire the falls

Theater Education are its stage curtains open to the showing of Brazil s longevity?

Costa, Gracielle Elaine Ramos 10 May 2013 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 Gracielle Elaine Ramos Costa.pdf: 1506343 bytes, checksum: e3f58746533f5f7ff859fed09352312f (MD5) Previous issue date: 2013-05-10 / The increase in the aging population is a reality according to Brazilian demographics. However, few measures are being taken to address this challenge and improve the quality of life of this population group, thus triggering great mystification and discrimination regarding aging in contemporary society. Therefore, the need arises to qualify professionals from various fields to meet this new demand, especially in the field of education. Education for seniors is usually done in a non-formal environment with the help of many professionals from all academic fields. Specifically: the drama teacher, who is able to develop theatrical activities for seniors using exercises with a socializing/inter-activity character. In this context, this research aims to investigate whether the aging and longevity issues are addressed in Pedagogical Political Projects (PPP) of Theatre Degree courses in Brazil, questioning primarily if the Supervised Internship III and/or IV courses address the teaching of seniors in the non-formal environment. As the theoretical basis were used the sociological reflections by Bauman on liquid-modernity which is associated with theater-education theorists. Furthermore, as a methodical basis, the social/documented search method with qualitative and quantitative approaches was used, of which the data analysis was based on Bardin and the laws of the MEC and the new LDBEN. The result of the research shows a negative picture: out of the 49 undergraduate Degrees in Theatre that were surveyed, only 2 address the aging issue in their PPPs, particularly in the courses of Supervised Internship III and/or IV belonging to the following Academic Institutions: UNIRIO and UFPE. We conclude that the need for inclusion of the topic in aging and longevity flowcharts in the curricula of undergraduate Degrees in Theatre is an urgent matter. Therefore, at the end of this research, we recommend the integration of gerontology education with the under-graduate Theatre Degree courses, using the transverse method, in a continuous and permanent manner, like the creation of National Curriculum Guidelines for Education on Aging and Human Longevity in the curricula of undergraduate courses, including degrees in Theatre / O aumento do envelhecimento populacional já é uma realidade segundo as configurações demográficas brasileiras.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Cláudia Campestrini Pinto.pdf: 1332756 bytes, checksum: aa9b238c90252bc588c480d977607f8a (MD5) Previous issue date: 2017-09-12 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The twenty-first century demographic revolution signals the rapid aging process in the world, revealing a historical milestone in contemporary society that is the Longevity Revolution, making existing notions of old age and retirement rethought, with increased life expectancy. An elderly population presents social and economic challenges, with systematic and endogenous changes in economic behavior, specially on savings. This scenario requires adjustments and reforms in social security and stimulus in pension funds helping people to a more balanced financial situation throughout the life, generating welfare of the families. The objective of this research was to outline the scientific approaches to aging in Brazil, identifying in these approaches the intention of collaborating with the definitions of public policies in the scope of social security and pension funds. The method used was the bibliographic review called "state of the art" of the retrospective and secondary type. With the definition of the descriptors the research was carried out in theses and dissertations published during the last 10 years (2006 to 2016). In the qualitative analysis, it was observed that the need for reforms and adjustments in social security and the importance of fostering complementary social security as a long-term savings instrument provides social welfare for families and contributes, above all, to the country's development. It is concluded that aging engenders great human development and challenges in the elaboration of public policies in diverse areas, mainly creates opportunities in new products and services.

O envelhecimento  populacional no contexto brasileiro sob a égide da (des) proteção social / The population aging in the Brazilian contexto under the egide of social (dis)protection.

Oliveira, Thaís Aparecida Eustáquio Rodrigues de 22 September 2016 (has links)
In Brazil the elderly population increases sharply due to two factors which are, respectively, low fertility of women and reduction in mortality rates. Population aging brings significant changes in the economy, political, social, environmental and health, as well as challenges to face, such as the provision of health services appropriate to the needs of each elderly, are prevention, promotion or rehabilitation, and the supply of the necessary medicines; service network and shared care, involving family and public services, as the family configuration was modified in contemporary times; also adds to the need for monetary policies designed to equity of access to multiples services. In this sense, were established by the Constitution of 1988, the guarantee of social rights, and those offered to any citizen who need it, which the principle of Social Security, the most important social protection mechanism providing the provision of means to guarantee the life, harm reduction and risk prevention, working in the health sector, social security and welfare. They offer different ways to guarantee the conditions of life, harm reduction and risk prevention, working in the health sector, social security and assistance. The focus of this research took on the elderly assisted by both the assistance and social security. The technique used was their storytelling about their lives and interviews being conducted in depth with nine seniors, and two of them from the Elderly Center Community a municipality in the Greater area of São Paulo and the other members from the Health Centre Samuel Barnsley Pessoa (CSEB), located in Butantã- São Paulo. From the narratives were created four themes: I) Female Work x Male Work; II) Social Benefit / Retirement: social right or philanthropy; III) Active Ageing: ideology or possibility and IV) Pathways of Life: Migration in Stories. The analyses were based on the precepts of the dialectic-hermeneutic. As a result, a female disadvantage when they reach old age was observed, as domestic work is not used for retirement purposes and, in most cases, lifelong developed autonomous work, so their source of income is limited to the BPC or retirement age. Many of the elderly are in caregivers position becoming responsible to look after their children and grandchildren in their homes. They become providers and most times the main source of income comes from them instead using their unique resource from the social security benefits. It was found that monetary values are insufficient to break the cycle of poverty, provide subsidies only to guarantee the minimum social standards in order to cover their needs. In order to be able to survive economically, many seniors remain active in the labor market - in order to supplement the income - linked to desire for recognition, satisfaction and sense of feel socially useful.

Novel approaches for risk management of Legionella bacteria in domestic water systems

Peter, Aji January 2018 (has links)
Legionella pneumophila, the causative agent of Legionnaires' disease, is a water born pathogenic bacteria commonly found in natural and manmade water systems such as rivers, lakes, wet soil, hot and cold water storage systems (being able to survive at temperatures between 6-63 °C, and proliferating between 20-45 °C), showerheads, cooling towers and spa pools. The main pathway of exposure to Legionella is by inhaling the aerosols containing the microorganism. Legionnaires' disease can be fatal if not diagnosed and treated at the right time. Practical Legionella control starts with a risk assessment of the water system and followed by the regular monitoring and water sampling. UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have implemented strict legislations to protect the public from Legionnaires' disease. This research highlights and addresses three major data gaps identified in Legionella control and management strategy employed in the UK and worldwide; namely, (i) the underestimation of microbiological threat in current cold water storage sampling strategy, (ii) the inability of current qPCR diagnostic methods to detect live Legionella in water samples, and (iii) the lack of predictive 'risk management system' for Legionella control in domestic water systems. During my PhD, 15 relevant cold water storage tanks (selected from more than 6000 tanks surveyed at different sites located in different London Boroughs) were used to investigate the risk factors that contribute towards Legionella proliferation, and revealed serious shortcomings in the appropriateness of the water sample taken for regulatory testing. Secondly, molecular biology research was carried out to develop an accurate, reliable and rapid testing method for the detection and quantification of live Legionella using qPCR techniques. This was successfully achieved by extracting RNA from a Legionella lenticule, converting the RNA into cDNA and amplifying the cDNA using qPCR techniques. Finally, regular monitoring data from 120 London buildings (60 known to be Legionella positive and 60 known to be Legionella negative) was used to identify the possible risk factors contributing towards Legionella outbreaks. Data for these factors was then used to develop a predictive risk model for Legionella contamination using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The model was validated with 66 new London buildings and 9 out of London buildings. The model showed 100% accuracy in predicting the risk of Legionella by distinguishing infected and non-infected sites in London as well as for the sites in out of London.

Starobní důchody ve vztahu k hospodářské úrovni zemí EU / Retirement pensions in relation to the economic level of EU countries

Bricín, Lukáš January 2011 (has links)
This thesis deals with the comparison of the European Union countries, in particular their schemes of pension and living standard of pensioners who use these schemes in confrontation with the economic standard of these countries. After a theoretical introduction, where various aspects of operation and theoretical construction of the pension system are introduced, there follows a brief outline of the situation in each country, completed with comparison of the values of indicators relating to the pension systems. The middle part of this thesis is devoted to the process of population aging, as the main cause of the current need for reforming the pension systems and the adequacy of extending the age for retirement. The last part of this thesis is devoted to determining the sequence of the states of the European Union by the standard of living of people in retirement age and confronting these results with the information on economic standard of these countries.

A metaphorical study on usage of public health service cloud computing system to counter issues of aging population in Singapore

Xiao, Yi Hui Unknown Date (has links)
This study attempts to investigate the issues of aging population in the context of Singapore through metaphorical approach and the potential of tapping on the collaborative characteristics of a health service cloud computing system to meet the needs in elderly care, hence allowing active aging. The use of electronic health records (EHR) in various countries, particularly the meaningful use of EHR in USA is examined to understand its current features and usage. By employing conceptual mapping and blending of metaphorical study, the concepts in cloud computing are probed to gain better understanding on the characteristics of the technology. Similarly, with concepts drawn from an eco-system blended with concepts in a health service system, the characteristics of EHR and finally the characteristics of a health service cloud computing system are illustrated. With understanding in aging population, present usage of EHR and potential of cloud computing in Singapore, multi-methods research consisting of intensive interviews and archival document collations are employed. Triangulation amongst the datasets collated using open coding via ATLAS.ti resulted in 6 issues of concern in aging population pertaining to the Singapore context to arise, namely (i) primary care, (ii) familial support, (iii) awareness in health maintenance and transparency in information, (iv) improved efficiency and accuracy in healthcare with seamless transfer of care and (v) intermediate care and (vi) collaboration between stakeholders. Further analysis of the results draws up the possibilities for enhancing meaningful use of health service cloud computing system for active aging, which criteria are: (i) empowerment and ownership, (ii) sustainable homecare and (iii) seamless transfer of care. Finally, a conceptual mapping of health service cloud computing system and the criteria for effective aging give rise to a model framework that is set for active aging. / This study attempts to investigate the issues of aging population in the context of Singapore through metaphorical approach and the potential of tapping on the collaborative characteristics of a health service cloud computing system to meet the needs in elderly care, hence allowing active aging.
