What is the ART of ADHD SoMe Acting : and how is it artistically relevant for everyone to know?

Lindman, Alexander January 2023 (has links)
During my master program in acting 2021-23 at Stockholm University of the Arts I coined the term deneurotypicalize and a definition of art as ART to guide my now and future work of trying to deneurotypicalize acting technique and understand what the ART of the SoMe Actor might be and do and and if there is or should be a difference between a neurotypical and neurodiverse way of applying oneself and communicate with said audience on said platform(s)? This all resulted in over 150 pages of written words, and a great deal more written documentation; a performance lecture on the 2nd of May 2023 with a Q&amp;A, several short films and Social Media interactions, 3 Surveys about ADHD-acting and art, 3 events on Scenkonstbiennalen (2022); and this master thesis and a research catalogue page with a more general documentation, too. ADHD, ART, Social Media and acting is more connected than I first realised, maybe because ADHD-actors have an affinity for ARTing which can be, and not be, an asset during ARTistic-processes. Lots of further research is needed, and in larger quantities. The ADHD relation to the arts might seem obvious because the out of the box thinking, hyperfocus, hyperfixation and only being able to follow your strongest passions and interests but it can also be because the rest of the society isn’t built for ARTing or ADHD-people which makes the field of arts so alluring. And maybe more often than we’d like to admit: also a very all consuming — especially if all the ARTistic-processes are based upon neurotypical standards — energy draining (and worst case scenario a death) trap. / <p>Since this is an artistic work there was an IRL examination of my performance lecture on the second of May 2023 and also an examination of this master thesis of 127 pages on the 26th of May 2023 that both were passed by Ulrika Malmgren. And, also a research catalouge page https://www.researchcatalogue.net/view/1398260/1398261 that will be published at the same time as this thesis: all three is a part of Alexander Lindman's IDP at Stockholm University of the Arts. All interlinked; all stand alone.</p>

Doppelt hören: Eine populäre Chanson im Spiegel ihrer Bearbeitungen

Roth, Markus 27 October 2023 (has links)
The present article combines both cultural-historical and analytical reflections on »art-song reworking« of the late fifteenth century. Using the example of several reworkings of Malheur me bat – from Agricola, Josquin, and Obrecht – references are discussed primarily from the point of view of the content. In an imaginary dialog with »expert listeners« of the past, the question is raised, in which manner the composer of the respective chanson masses either highlighted, weakened or exaggerated specific idiosyncrasies of the underlying original.

Re-imagining the World Through Popular Poetry Set in Motion by the Ultimate Signalling Officer Alan Alexander Milne

Skogberg Lundin, Anja January 2023 (has links)
Alan Alexander Milne’s authorship was never limited to being the author of the very beloved teddy-bear, far from it. In addition to being a successful playwrite and editing Punch, Milne also wrote several poetry collections which all have been out of print since the 1940s in the entire English-speaking world. His war poetry and social engagement reached far beyond the Bloomsbury group of influential authors and thinkers in the early 20th Century. Milne was a liberal, in terms of what the term denoted in the early 20th century, notably, that is, not in the way we perceive the term today, in the 21st Century. As a perhaps eery echo of the occurrences from a Century ago Milne’s political poetry will be set in motion again; his poetry reflects times of distress and global political unrest. And, in Milne’s own phrasing, 'it’s a silly thing to say', Milne’s poetry pinpoints the ever-present core issues of the inner and external struggles of humanity and individuals. Milne believed in Freedom and liberalism as he knew it in his days, but he also saw what happened when these values were under threat of being sacrificed and lost. Despite all darkness and despair in the early 20th Century, Milne’s focus as a poet was to bring joy and laughter to people, and he chose to do so with poetry, in popular verse, -a bold move in a world where not even courageous people always had someone to voice their situation and their daily struggles. Milne’s poetry is in many aspects the story of the every-day hero, and the ordinary person, yet his depictions of the human struggles is unique and heartfelt. The main focus of this essay is the ways in which Milne’s idea of liberalism effect his poems in portraying serious political topics through the medium of popular verse with its direct relationship to defining and exploring multitude within every word. For the multi-talented Milne his idea of liberalism revolves around Four Freedoms; freedom from want, freedom from fear, freedom of religion, and freedom of expression. Without further delay it is time to bring back into the sphere of well-known (war-)poets from the early 20th Century, the liberal humourist and pacifist war-poet Milne.

To the Ends of the Earth: A Study of the Explorative Discourse Promoting British Expansionism in Canada

Evangelisti, Charles William 29 May 2009 (has links)
Between 1760 and 1833, English explorers systematically filled in the map of British North America. Many of those explorers worked for two fur-trading companies: the Hudson's Bay Company and the North West Company. In pursuit of new sources of fur, they opened western Canada to European comprehension. Their published accounts of geographic exploration provided the British audience with new geographical information about North America. New geographic information often paved the way for settlement. However, in the case of the Canadian West, increased geographic comprehension did not necessarily lead to settlement. By 1833, the explorers had built a base of knowledge from which the British conceptualized the Canadian wilderness. Over the course of seventy years, the British conception of western Canada remained remarkably consistent. The popular British image of western Canada, persisting into the 1830s, was of a wasteland fit only for the fur trade. The British, who had been expanding around the world for several hundred years, were not yet interested in settlement in western Canada. This thesis seeks to expand upon the link that existed between the fur trade, its employees, and their influence on the British conception of western Canada. / Master of Arts

Alexander Campbell and the Power of Education

Colvin, Randall Arthur 08 1900 (has links)
This educational biography is a study of Alexander Campbell's (1788-1866) educational activities and educational thinking. These activities included the following: his creation of Buffalo Seminary; advocacy for common schools at the Virginia State Constitutional Convention of 1829-1830; participation in the Western Literary Institute and College of Professional Teachers of Cincinnati, Ohio (an organization for educators); speeches on education and common schools; founding Bethany College in present-day Bethany, West Virginia; and his discussion of educational issues in his journal, the Millennial Harbinger. The study explores how Campbell's unique early-life affected his future educational life. His early-life included intensive study under his highly educated father, home-training in Christian piety, and studying for a time at the University of Glasgow. The study focuses especially upon Campbell's involvement in the College of Teachers, his founding of Bethany College, and his major educational ideas. Some of Campbell's major educational emphases include: the need for public education; human knowledge as a national resource; moral education; lifelong learning; female education; student interest; a broad and holistic conception of education; a focus on early childhood education; utilitarian education; and the power of education. This study concludes that the overarching theme of education as power pervades Campbell's educational thinking.

Belley, Philippe 01 March 2021 (has links)
