Tapiserie a gobelíny ze sbírek Pražského hradu / Tapestries of Prague Castle collections

Pospíšilová, Denisa Isabella January 2018 (has links)
Annotation: The work is dedicated to tapestries from Prague Castle collections, hanging in the State Rooms and the ones that are stored in Prague Castle depository. The tapestries always played an important role in decorating the interior and still help to create a festive atmosphere of this place, usually not accessible to the public. The author focuses on detailed identification of three baroque series known as Anthony and Cleopatra and Months of the year. The serie Anthony and Cleopatra dates back to the turn of the 17th and the 18th centuries. Convolutes of the tapestries of the cycle Months of the year (represented at Prague Castle in two ways - figurally and non-figurally) were made at the beginning of the 18th century as well as in the years 1728-1736. The tapestry on the theme of the life of Anthony and Cleopatra consists of eight pieces. Seven of them belong to an elementary part of Prague Castle collection, the eighth is in Vienna. The serie Months of the year has a similar history. It consists of ten pieces, nine of them are situated at Prague Castle, the tenth is again in Vienna. Longstory short, the work is dedicated to baroque tapestries that help to create genius loci of Prague Castle. After a brief introduction providing the informative insight into the issue, the explanation of the history...

Gifta på låtsas? : Hur den moderna kärlekens normer och investeringsstrategier förmedlas i reality-TV / Marriage on pretend? : How the norms and investment strategies of modern love are conveyed in reality TV

Hultgren, Agnes January 2021 (has links)
Old norms that revolve around love and relationships have today disappeared and love has, like society, been modernized. Relationships have become freer and partners have become replaceable. The emotional investment has thus become more difficult in modern relationships. But despite this, people are looking for their perfect match and a long-lasting relationship. Married at First Sight is a contemporary reality show where participants who long for love are about to marry a stranger. The program provides insight into how couples, from never having met each other, gets married and live together as a wife and husband for a couple of weeks. During the program they will build a relationship so that they in the end of the program can decide whether they want to remain married or whether they want to divorce. To see how modern relationships and emotional investment are conveyed in reality TV, this study is based on observations of the Swedish and American Married at first sight. The study showed that love in Married at first sight consisted of a great need for freedom and that communication both enabled and created problems for the emotional investment. It was when the participants showed that they were ready to let go of parts of their freedom and valued trust in their partner that the emotional commitment came to be communicated most apparent.

Atis, Jean-Goualbert 10 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to explore the scriptural mechanisms of literary works that thematize the return to the homeland. Based on a corpus of novels published by expatriate writers, it aims to demonstrate the adequacy of their form to their content. In this regard, La contrainte de l'inachevé by Anthony Phelps, Pays sans chapeau by Dany Laferrière, Les urnes scellées by Émile Ollivier meet the criteria of fictions which closely associate theme and structure, meaning and composition, substance and form. These three novels are based on structural and thematic choices that stem from the principle of return, defined as the propensity to submit to a regressive movement or, to put it more clearly, to evolve backwards in time as well as in space. Two axes are thus chosen to highlight the main theme of our research: the definitive return to the country of birth and the return alternately between the host country and the country of origin. The first axis takes into consideration the will for permanent resettlement in their society from certain exiles, the investigation, the repetition, the interpretation, the ritual, the affiliation constituting the textual manifestations of what animates these migrants. As for the second axis, it is focused on the round trip between two territories of fictional characters and is reflected in the stories by the outcrop in the narratives of the motif of the double, the in-between, self-referentiality, of the mise en abyme and by the place reserved for zombies, doppelgangers, dreams, mirrors, etc. This research has thus managed to establish that return as meaning goes hand in hand with return as a principle of composition in the novels analyzed. In Ollivier, Laferrière and Phelps, with the regressive gesture of the fictional characters, on the level of the statement, always echoes in the texts, on the level of the enunciation, the scriptural processes characterized by the principle of return.

Les pentecôtistes québécois, 1966-1995 : histoire d'un réveil

Di Giacomo, Michael. 02 July 2021 (has links)

A Set of Compositions Inspired by Selected Performance Practices and Notational Systems of Anthony Braxton (b. 1945)

Van Leeuwen, Christopher M. 05 1900 (has links)
Multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music philosopher Anthony Braxton (b. 1945) has developed performance practices and notational systems that are frequently disregarded by scholars of music, despite his prolific output and influence. His restructuralist aesthetic blurs the boundaries between philosophy, visual art, and numerous musical genres and stylistic practices to create an amalgam that is often difficult to categorize due to his perpetual quest to avoid confining definitions. The purpose of this dissertation is to draw attention to various facets of Anthony Braxton's notational and performance practices by using them as a springboard for personal creativity. Inspiration for these original works was drawn from a variety of Braxton's methods, particularly from his quartet music of the 1980s and his Ghost Trance Music, and drew heavily from his concepts of "moment time" and "individual presence," which are key themes arising throughout his music and the literature. Specific compositional techniques were either used verbatim or as inspiration for the development of original practices and are accompanied by an analysis and discussion.

The marriage between sciences and the state in George Orwell's Nineteen eighty-four, Anthony Burgess's A clockwork orange and Owen Gregory's Meccania: the superstate

Kebsi, Jyhene 18 April 2018 (has links)
